Lesson 17
"I've got so much to die for but so little to live for."

A twelve years old Tsuna walked back home covered in bruises. His usual bullies ambushed him when he was walking home, again.
Tugging his shirt down to cover up his bruises, he entered the house and said, "I'm back!" before darting towards his room, not waiting for his mother's reply. He quickly opened his bedroom door before quickly shutting it close.
He made his way to his desk and pulled out a handmirror from one of the drawers. He checked his bruises, determined how long it takes for it to heal, coming up a plan on how to hide it from his mom and making up excuses if the hiding plan didn't work.
After awhile, he put back the handmirror back into the drawer. He made his way to his wardrobe and grabbed a change of clothes before making his way to the bathroom. After cleaning himself up and changed his clothes, he sat down on his bed, staring into nothing.
Slowly, he went back to his desk and took out a papercutter. He pushed out the blade and rested the cold metal on his wrist. After a few minutes of absolute silence, he let out a heavy sigh before pushing back the blade in and put it back where he took it out.
He slowly made his way down to eat dinner with his mom -the only one who cares about him- who greeted him with a smile.

Now, a fourteen years old Tsuna would look back at his old memories and smiled sadly at his failed attempts to end his life. He was so scarred, so very scarred, from all the bullyings that he was forced to face every single day.
Too many times had he tried to kill himself, only to be stopped by the thought of leaving his mother alone after he died. Too many times had he cried in an abondoned house or forest after hearing the painful insults thrown at him. Don't they know that words could hurt much more than a punch?
He had almost given up on living when Reborn suddenly came into his life and turned his world upside down. After that, he was forced to do many things against his will and was dragged in a situation where he doesn't want to be. But along the way, he had gained his first friend before acquiring another and another and another.
Although he had to go through many obstacles and fight in battles where his life and his friends' life were at stake, he began to hope again. Hope for a better and brighter future. Now, he could face forward and go through every challenges that come his way as long as his friends are there beside him.
As he walk towards the front door, he gave a soft smile to a smaller image of him who stood beside the door. "I'm not alone anymore," he said to his image. The smaller Tsuna stared at him before breaking into a smile and disappeared into thin air.
When Tsuna walked out of the house and was greeted by his friends, a breeze went pass him and he faintly heard a childlike voice saying "thank you" before being carried away by the wind. Tsuna could only close his eyes to hide the sadness within his eyes from his friends and whispered an answer before returning back to normal and walked off with his friends.
"You're welcome, little me."

I don't know what came over me when I was writing this chapter. Must be because of the sad theme song from Fairy Tail that I was listening to. I wonder if this story is sad?
