GREEN WITH ENVY

Most women would be grateful for their significant others who bought them beautiful diamond rings, but not Valerie. She envied every girl that she ever came across, always bragging about how lovely their loved ones were. It really irked her to a point where she was ready to commit a heinous crime. One day, one of Valerie's friends came by, bragging about how her husband planned to take her to the Caribbean, and she snapped. She was done with all the bragging and done with all the snobby bitches that always acted too perfect for their own good.

She grabbed a machete from a cabinet and walked back inside in anger. Valerie swung, slashing and cutting through skin and bone. The adrenaline was so great that she could barely hear her friend scream until no sound came out. Once the adrenaline wore off, Valerie couldn't believe what she had done. Her best friend was dead. Without thinking, she grabbed a shovel from the garage and headed inside her house, where she dragged her deceased friend to the backyard.

Valerie dug the hole and dropped the body into it before going through and burying her in a mountain of dirt. After burying the truth, she walked away and lived most of her life unbothered. that is, until a few years later, when Valerie was twenty-five; she swore she saw a figure that looked eerily similar to her late friend.

"Why?" the figure asked. Valerie forced her eyes closed and reopened them. The figure was not there. She thought for a split second she was imagining things. Sighing with relief, she carried on with her day in the office. Over the years, she had grown into a beautiful young woman with fiery red hair and emerald eyes. She was going through a file when she heard the voice again. "Why?"

Valerie glanced at the window and gasped at the sight. She saw the woman again and couldn't help but notice she was covered in dirt. The same features as her ex friend Sandra. She screamed and stumbled back. Valerie's boss came running in and asked her what the problem was. Not taking chances, she left her job and headed for home. By the time she got home, she ran in and slammed the door shut.

"You killed me!" Sandra yelled, appearing before her almost way worse than before. "How could you?!"

"I swear Sandra! I didn't mean it!" Valerie begged for forgiveness, but Sandra didn't listen. Almost instantly, the vengeful spirit attacked her going throughout her body. She didn't even give Valerie a chance to scream before everything went black. They didn't discover her body until days later when her boyfriend found her. He realized she had died from Sandra's spirit when he dug in her backyard and discovered the remains of Sandra.
