Meeting Pietro and ECAET

Third Person POV:
Sparky opens her mouth to reply to Enjolras's question. "Well, we, meaning Kaylin and I, were keeping an eye on you guys from the other side when you were living. We could still do that with Marius. But mostly other people just are happy and do whatever the hell they want." Kaylin rolls her eyes.
"Maybe we should introduce you to other people here so you could have more friends than just us," Kaylin suggests. Then, a tall, white-blond man walks past them and Sparky notices him. She puts a finger to her lips and launches herself onto the man's back. The man spins around quickly and tries to shake her off.
"YOU DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING!!" Sparky shouts in glee. The man sighs.
"Sparky get off," the mysterious man says curtly, his Eastern-European accent coming through. Les Amis stare at their interaction very confusedly.
"He your boyfriend?" Courfeyrac asks.
"No, I'm not his girlfriend," Sparky says, sticking out her tongue childishly. "And besides, he's...." the beginning chords for some musical song filter in through the Café Musain.
Sparky begins to sing, "There! Right there!
Look at that tan, well-tended skin
Look at the killer shape he's in
Look at that slightly stubbly chin
Oh, please, he's gay, totally gay!"
Courfeyrac rolls his eyes and, unknowingly, says the lyrics to the next verse of the song in exact pitch, "I'm not about to celebrate
Every trait could indicate
A totally straight expatriate
This guy's not gay, I say not gay"
The man stares at them in astonishment. "Why are you guys talking about this?"
Kaylin smirks. "Well you see, dear Pietro, it's a song. From the musical Legally Blonde. And you are both-"
Sparky interrupts, "No spoilers Kaylin!!"
Everyone begins to sing, except for Enjolras who is just looking around at the occupants of the room in confusion. "That is the elephant in the room
Well, is it relevant to assume
That a man who wears perfume
Is automatically, radically fey?
But look at his coiffed and crispy locks
Look at his silk translucent socks
There's the eternal paradox
Look what we're seein'"
Enjolras buts into the song, "What are we seein'?"
"Is he gay? (Of course he's gay!)
Or European?"
Sparky 'ohhhhs' as a joke, because she knows Pietro and exactly what side he swings for.
"Gay or European?
It's hard to guarantee
Is he gay or European?
Well, hey, don't look at me!You see, they bring their boys up different
In those charming foreign ports
They play peculiar sports
In shiny shirts and tiny shortsGay or foreign fella?
The answer could take weeks
They both say things like "ciao bella"
While they kiss you on both cheeks (Oh, please)" everyone sings on. Enjolras is looking very confused and annoyed right now.
"Gay or European?
So many shades of gray
Depending on the time of day
The French go either way" Sparky and Kaylin sing as the Frenchmen in the room gape at them with wide-open mouths.
"We're French," Enjolras says deadpan.
"I know," Kaylin responds, lips curving into a smirk that looks uncannily like Enjolras's.
"Is he gay or European, or-" Sparky, Kaylin, and Courfeyrac sing.
Éponine rolls her eyes and starts to sing, "There! Right there!
Look at that condescending smirk
Seen it on every guy at work
That is a metro, hetero jerk
That guy's not gay, I say no way."
Sparky begins to dance around the room, singing the next verse of the song. Everyone, except for Kaylin, is staring at her in shock at her exuberance and sassiness. Kaylin is rolling her eyes and facepalming at her best friend's antics.
"That is the elephant in the room
Well is it relevant to presume
That a hottie in that costume
Is automatically, radically
Ironically, chronically
Certainly, flirtingly
Genetically, medically
Gay, officially gay
Swishily gay, gay, gay, gay
Damn it!"
The 'damn it' came in when Pietro, finally going along with the song, pretended to flirt with Bosseut and then turned around and started to flirt with Kaylin. Pietro is just joking around as usual, as he doesn't like Kaylin or Bosseut in that way.
"Gay or European?
So stylish and relaxed
Is he gay or European?
I think his chest is waxed
But they bring their boys up different there
It's culturally diverse
It's not a fashion curse
If he wears a kilt or bears a purseGay or just exotic?
I still can't crack the code
Yeah, his accent is hypnotic
But his shoes are pointy-toed (Huh)," all of Les Amis, except Enjolras, sing. Kaylin is dying of laughter in the corner while Sparky is conducting Les Amis's singing. If you were there, you would have been crying of laughter.
"Gay or European?
So many shades of gray!"
Éponine smirks. "But if he turns out straight
I'm free at eight on Saturday"
All of Les Amis gape at the brown-haired Jondrette girl in shock.
"Is he gay or European?
Gay or European?
Gay or Euro--Wait a minute
Give me a chance to crack this guy
I have an idea I'd like to try
The floor is yours" Les Amis sing the first part but then Sparky and Kaylin take the lead on the 'case.'
Kaylin steps forward to Pietro, much to Enjolras's chagrin. "So, Mr. Maximoff You have been dead for...?"
Pietro replies with, "Two years," looking incredibly bored.
"And your first name again is?"
"Pietro"
"And your boyfriend's name is?"
"Phil. I-I, sorry!
I misunderstand!
You say "boyfriend", I thought you say "best friend"
Phil is my best friend."
"You faker!! You lying faker!! That's it, I no cover for you no more! Peoples, I have a big announcement," Sparky announces, jumping on the table that has somehow magically appeared. "This man is gay and European (Whoa!) And neither is disgrace (Oh) You gotta stop your bein' a completely closet case (D'oh) It's him not me he's seein' no matter what he say I swear he never, ever, ever swing the other way!!"
Kaylin joins in on the song, stepping up on top of the table as well. "You are so gay, you big parfait, you flaming one-man cabaret!!" she cries, grinning at Pietro's embarrassed face.
"I'm straight!" Pietro tries to vainly defend himself.
"You were not yesterday" Kaylin and Sparky say in unison, smirking at each other. The two girls continue the song, "So if I may, I'm proud to say
He's gay (And European!)
He's gay (And European!)
He's gay (And European, and gay!)"
The music turns off and Pietro rolls his eyes.
"Now, if you've stopped embarrassing me enough today, who are these people?" he says, pointing at Les Amis.
"Well, two of them are our brothers while the others are our brothers' friends," Kaylin says.
"Oooh, don't forget Courf dated my sister," Sparky interrupts. Kaylin glares at her best friend.
"Sparky if you don't shut up I'll tell them all about you-know-who," Kaylin threatens as Sparky scoffs.
"And if you do that I'll tell them about En-" Sparky starts.
"NO" Kaylin shouts as Les Amis and Pietro stare at the bickering women with varying perplexed expressions. "Okay introductions. There's Enjolras, Gavroche, Courfeyrac, Grantaire, Joly, Bosseut, Bahorel, and Éponine. My younger twin brother is Combeferre."
Combeferre rolls his eyes. "Kaylin, for Christ's sake you are only older by, like, three minutes." Kaylin smirks at her brother.
"Still older."
Sparky continues the introductions as Combeferre and Kaylin start to tease each other as siblings do. "And Jehan's my twin. Everyone, this is Pietro Maximoff, Wanda's twin brother and the person who has the catchphrase 'you didn't see that coming.'" Then, the loud clanging of a brass bell rings throughout the café. Sparky and Kaylin look at each other and then up at the sky.
"The angst bell," the two whisper in unison. "Oh sh*t." Kaylin and Sparky burst into action, Kaylin sprinting towards the TV in the corner while Sparky runs in the opposite direction to make popcorn. Pietro leaves after saying hello to Les Amis. And as for Les Amis, they just stare at the chaos unfolding around them in confusion. Kaylin turns around and motions for Les Amis to join her at the couch.
"Oi, guys, this is probably about Marius." The name jolts Les Amis to move towards the couch, them squeezing in together. Kaylin looks around at the slowly growing crowd huddled in front of the TV, muttering under her breath. "Where the f*ck is Sparky?" The instant the last word comes out of her mouth, Sparky vaults over the couch holding a bucket of popcorn. She squeezes in between R and Kaylin. Instead of listing who is sitting where, I'll just show you (A/N: It's a very big couch).
Kaylin, holding the remote, clicks the button reading "1832 France- Les Amis/Marius Pontmercy," with the Les Amis being scratched out as if by an invisible hand. The screen shows Marius in the remnants of the Café Musain, crying.

All of Les Amis sit in silence, watching Marius's song unfold. The only sound in the room is the small sniffles coming from Kaylin and Sparky as they cry.
"There's a grief that can't be spoken
There's a pain goes on and on
Empty chairs at empty tables
Now my friends are dead and goneHere they talked of revolution
Here it was they lit the flame
Here they sang about tomorrow
And tomorrow never cameFrom the table in the corner
They could see a world reborn
And they rose with voices ringing
And I can hear them now!The very words that they had sung
Became their last communion
On this lonely barricade
At dawnOh my friends, my friends forgive me
That I live and you are gone
There's a grief that can't be spoken
There's a pain goes on and on."
Sparky looks at Kaylin and asks her a one-word question: "Barricade?"
Kaylin nods her head and grins through her tears. "Definitely." The two girls jump up from their seats as Gavroche, Combeferre, and Courfeyrac scramble for the empty seats. Gavroche and Combeferre are the victors of the fight as Courf sinks back down to the floor.
Enjolras looks on at the girls as they form their barricade out of the chairs in the café. "What the hell is going on?" the leader of Les Amis questions the two women as they add stabilization to the base of the barricade. Kaylin looks up from where she is crouched on the floor, blowing her hair out of her eyes, and smirks at him.
"Oh, nothing much," she answers casually, "just that we're making a better barricade than you boys." Enjolras stares wide-eyed at Kaylin, who just smiles innocently up at the man. Sparky snorts and then music filters in through the café as the TV continues to play Marius's soliloquy.
"Seriously, when you guys died I cracked sooo many jokes about death. And I also made a new river," Sparky comments. Kaylin, recognizing the music Sparky is playing, shakes her head and bites her lower lip.
"Oh my god, not this song again! I was crying during it the first time and I will cry now," Kaylin declares, already close to crying from the memories the song Little People brings to mind for her.
"Don't take my seat," Gavroche whispers threateningly to Courf as he jumps up. "Don't cry, Kaylin!!" the young boy exclaims, hurrying over to Kaylin and wrapping her in a big hug. Kaylin smiles down at Gavroche as they embrace. Sparky awwwws because both her and Kaylin are fangirls at heart.
Sparky grins. "Honestly, when Enjolras died I think you screamed louder than Hitler burning in hell!" Kaylin shrugs from her spot on top of the barricade.
"Probably," she agrees.
Enjolras, with yet another confused expression on his face, asks, "Who is Hitler and why is he in hell?" Kaylin and Sparky look at each other and then back at Enjolras.
"You don't wanna know," they say in unison. Enjolras rolls his eyes.
"Tell me."
"You didn't say the magic word," Kaylin says sarcastically as Enjolras sighs.
"Please tell me," Enjolras asks, stressing the word 'please' unnecessarily.
"He basically tortured Jews and started the Second World War. Many people died because of him, Japan was destroyed and there were bombs," Sparky says. Enjolras blanches.
"What??? That b*stard deserves to rot in hell," Enjolras shouts as Kaylin's sides start to shake from repressing her laughter. Sparky nods her head.
"That is a very true thing, but he is. I've seen him there from before," she says, shuddering. Kaylin scoots over to where Sparky is on the barricade and pulls her into a hug. Enjolras raises an eyebrow.
"Ummm why were you in hell?" Enjolras asks with the emotional tact of a garbage truck. Kaylin glares at Enjolras from over Sparky's shoulder. Sparky looks up, showing tears swimming in her dark blue eyes so much like her twin's.
"Well- I- It's hard to explain," Sparky stutters, trying to come up with a coherent story. "It's because, well, when I was alive, I caused a load of riots before I moved to France; I took part in this strike and my best friend almost died because of me. I also disobeyed royalty. So yeah I got sent there. The only reason I came here was to create the TV and, well, God said I could stick around. Although Hitler said to me once 'Hell is where all the monsters go and where all the monsters belong'. I guess that," Sparky chokes back a sob, "broke me." Kaylin soothes her best friend as Sparky deals with the memories Enjolras unknowingly dredged up.
"Well thanks a lot, Enjolras," Kaylin says sarcastically. Grantaire, who has been very quiet and awkwardly sitting on the couch, stands up and walks over to Sparky, sitting down on the floor next to her.
"It's okay if you don't wanna talk about it anymore," Grantaire says quietly, pulling Sparky into a hug. Kaylin clasps her hand over her mouth so she doesn't let out any fangirl squeals or awwws that would ruin the moment. She creeps back over to the couch and sits down next to Gavroche, who is watching this with a raised eyebrow. Jehan, from on the floor, taps Kaylin on her knee. She looks down and leans over towards the man. "Yeah?"
"Those two have always been my OTP," Jehan murmurs quietly to Kaylin as she nods her head.
"Literally the only one that's even worth mentioning," Kaylin agrees. Ferre leans over Gavroche towards where the two are quietly whispering to each other and chimes in.
"That's cute," Ferre says softly, as if stating a fact.
Kaylin grins at the two. "I agree. I need payback for all the times she's teased me about-" she cuts off abruptly as Ferre and Jehan look at Kaylin confusedly because she hasn't finished her sentence. "Something," Kaylin finishes, quickly glancing at Enjolras and then back to her brother and her best friend's brother. Sparky, feeling better from somebody's hug, pipes into the conversation.
"Ohhhh you're talking about-" Sparky starts, getting interrupted by Kaylin a second later.
"SHUT UP SPARKY!!" Kaylin shouts, blushing. The group turns back to the TV that has still been playing throughout this.
"Oh my friends, my friends
Don't ask me what your sacrifice was for"
Kaylin rolls her eyes. "Didn't you guys sing like three songs about what your guys's deaths were for? I mean seriously, Marius. You're a nice guy but wayyy too oblivious."
"Empty chairs at empty tables
Where my friends will sing no more."
All of Les Amis stand up from their seats on either the couch or the floor and gather around the two guides.
"Soo now what?" Courfeyrac asks. "Do we not need to sleep or eat? Or is it just like life?"
Kaylin answers his question. "Well, you don't have to, but mostly everyone does. It's just a little normalcy. Sparky and I have this little apartment that we go to to either watch musicals and/or have fun together. If you guys want, we could go there now. Houses here expand when there's more people that want to live there so the one apartment could fit all of us comfortably. Come on, we'll lead you there." The girls set off to their apartment with Les Amis following closely behind them.
Author's Note: Okay this chapter took a long time to write, probably because I was reading more than I was writing. I hope you guys enjoyed!!!
QOTD: if you were at the barricades, would you:
A. follow Gavroche to the other side of the barricade
B. fight with Courfeyrac to save Gavroche
C. stop Courfeyrac from going over the barricade
I would probably do either A or B. Gavroche is my smol bean and I need to protect him. #ProtectGavrocheSquad
