You were walking on the streets of New York talking with Piper. You two decided to go shopping and have a girls day. Piper was your best friend. Her boyfriend Jason would sometimes hang out with you guys too.

"Hey (Y/N)? Do you want to come to the Masquerade Ball my dad is having tomorrow?"

"I don't know Pipes. I won't have a date by then."

"That's okay! You could come without a date and just have fun!" She replies back.

"Okay."

"Come on! Let's go get you a dress and mask!"

  You both went to a nearby dress shop. It also had Masquerade masks. You walked in the doors and saw the store covered with all different colors of dresses.

  You were searching through the dresses when a certain dress popped out to you. It is a long, elegant dress that is tan. The top of it is swirled with light brown glitter.

"How's this dress Pipes?"

"Oh my goodness! That is beautiful! Go try it on."

  You went to the dressing room and tried on the dress. It fit perfectly with your body shape and height. You looked at the price tag to see that it was $1,206 dollars.

  You walked out of the dressing room to show Piper how it looked on you. When you came out, she gasped.

"(Y/N). You look....beautiful! We're getting this dress for you!" She exclaimed.

"Piper, the dress is to expensive. I don't have enough money."

"How much is it?"

"$1,206..."

"I'll buy it for you. Do you know how much my allowance is because of my father?"

"No. Anyways, let's find the mask and shoes."

"Alright!" She replied.

  You changed back into your regular clothes and went over to the masquerade masks. You searched through them until Piper found one that matched your dress.

"What about this one?"

  You looked at it with awe. It was a beautiful tan mask with white feathers. It had gold and white swirls with an ombre effect. To hold the feathers in place, it had a beautiful gem.

"It's amazing!"

"Try it on!" She squealed.

  You put it on. It was really light and fit your face perfectly. You could see through it perfectly because it traced the shape of your eyes.

"It's perfect! Thanks Piper."

"No problem!"

You and Piper walked over to the shoes because they also had a shoe section. Right away, you found a beautiful pair of white heels. You tried your shoe size and decided to get those.

"Ready to check out?" Piper asked.

"Yeah."

You and Piper walked to the cash register to pay for your things. The total cost ended up being $1,458 dollars. You were glad to have a friend like Piper.

Piper said she already had her dress and stuff. You both walked out of the shop. You split your ways with Piper and walked back to your house.

  It was the next day and you were getting ready for Piper's dad's masquerade ball.

  For hair, you curled your hair and began putting it into a fancy up do. It was a thick fish tail braid pulled back into a curly bun. You let some of your shorter, curled hairs out of your bun.

  Next was your make up. For eyeshadow, you did a gold smokey eye. You did winged eyeliner and applied fake eyelashes. Next, you put on mascara to blend your eyelashes with the fake ones. For lipstick, you did a pale pink.

  Next was the jewelry. You didn't want to go all out since your mask would attract a lot of attention. You put long, dangly earrings in your ears that were gold.

  Last but not least, you put on the fitted dress. You stepped into it so you wouldn't ruin your hair and make up. You put the mask on. After putting on your mask, you put on your shoes and grabbed a clutch purse to put all of your essentials in before heading out the door.

  You stepped into your car and began driving to Piper's house. You knew Piper would have Jason as a date. You were kind of embarrassed that you didn't have a date, but you let it slide.

   You arrived at Piper's mansion and knocked on the door. Piper opened it and let you inside before greeting you. She was in a blue gown with a black mask. She had on a black smokey eye and curled her brown hair.

  Piper led you to the ball room where the Masquerade would be held. When you entered, their was already a lot of people there.

  Jason came up to you and Piper. He greeted you before asking if he could take Piper away. You sighed before replying 'fine'.

  Since Piper left you for Jason, there was only one place for you to go. You walked over to the food table and grabbed some punch. You sighed and leaned against the table while eating some chips.

  A guy walked over to the table and stood by you. You examined his features. He was tall (pretend Leo's taller) and had gorgeous black, curly hair. He was a Latino with cute elf ears.

  He was wearing a black tuxedo and a black and silver mask. You looked into his eyes to see they were a comforting color of brown, almost the color of chocolate.

  You blushed as you realized you were staring. You looked away in embarrassment. 'He's really cute.' You thought to yourself. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw the guy look over at you. Suddenly, he spoke.

"What is a beautiful lady like you standing here alone?" He asked sincerely. He had a gorgeous smile that any girl could die for.

"My friend Piper left me for her boyfriend."

"Jason?" The cute guy asked.

"Yeah."

"I came here with him. He's my best friend and he also ditched me."

"Wow. What's your name?" You asked shyly."

"Leo. Leo Valdez. What's yours?"

"(Y/N). (Y/N) (L/N)."

"That's a beautiful name."

"Th-thanks." You stuttered.

"Would you maybe...uh...like to dance?" He asked suddenly with his arm out.

  You smiled and wrapped your arm around his. Just then, a slow song came on. You and Leo walked out to the dance floor and began dancing to the music.

  Leo had his arms wrapped around your waist as yours was wrapped around his neck. You felt Leo's body heat radiating off of you. Something made you feel protected and comfortable around Leo.

  You both swayed to the music and smiled at each other. You rested your head on his shoulder while his was in the crook of your neck.

  The song ended and you and Leo looked at each other. You wanted to dance with him longer.

"Do you want to take a walk outside?" You suddenly asked.

"Sure."

  Leo grabbed your hand and blushed before looking at you. You and Leo began walking outside around the neighborhood.

"So, do you want to reveal ourselves without the mask...?" Leo asked hopefully.

"I guess."

  You and Leo both took your masks off. You widened your eyes at the sight of how more handsome he was. You saw him stare at you in awe.

"You...look absolutely beau-beautiful..." Leo mumbled.

  You blushed and mumbled 'thanks'. You never thought you were beautiful, but hearing it from a very handsome guy made you think otherwise.

"Um...would you possibly...like to go on a d-date with me to-tomorrow night?"

"Yeah, sure..." You smiled reassuringly.

"Really!?!" He asked excitedly.

"Yeah." You giggled.

  Leo hugged you and you hugged back. You had your face buried in his warm chest. You felt so cozy that you didn't want to move. You and Leo embraced each other for a few minutes before you pulled away.

  You looked at your phone and realized it was midnight. You looked at Leo frowning because you had to go.

"Leo, I'm sorry. I have to leave." You said sadly.

"Please, don't leave." He said while holding your wrist gently.

"Believe me, I don't want to leave. I have to go feed my dog though. I was supposed to feed him a few hours ago... I'll see you tomorrow."

"Okay." 

  You pulled out a pen and a piece of paper. You wrote your phone number on it and smiled to yourself.

"Here's my phone number. Text me about the plans for tomorrow." You said as you had enough courage to kiss his cheek.

"O-okay." Leo said as he grinned from ear to ear if that was possible. You leaned down and kissed your cheek.

  You walked away and went to your cat. When you got in your car, you looked at your phone to see a text from an unknown number.

  And just like that, you got yourself a date from a guy you really liked. You were excited for it. You drove home to feed your dog.

Once you got home, you mumbled sarcastically to your dog, "Thanks for not letting me stay longer with a cute guy." Your dog just cocked his head to the side confused as you giggled and petted his head.
