Lennox Potter And The Final Battle
I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS IN THAT SERIES BECAUSE THEY ALL BELONG TO JOANNE KATHLEEN (J.K.) ROWLING!
Chapter One
Harry Potter walked down the streets with Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny, and Luna. They were laughing as they went down the street in the night and the people around them had faces of either frowns or smiles. Some people around them were happy that they were having fun while others were wondering why they were being so loud.
“And did you see her face when Luna gave her that comment? I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything that funny in my entire life!” Ron laughed and the others howled with laughter.
“I honestly don’t know what came over me!” Luna laughed, “I think I was just fed up with trying to be nice to a girl who kept talking to me as if I was two!”
“That was amazing though! Absolutely amazing!” Neville howled.
Ron tried to imitate Luna, “will you shut up and get me my drink already? I know that I may not be as skinny or as pretty as you, but at least my maturity level is better than yours. And by the way, can you wear a bra the next time you work? Every time that you come near me I’m afraid that they are going to pop out and hit me in the face!”
They all howled again. Harry now decided to imitate Luna’s next sentence, “I hate to break it to you, but you need to pull up your jaw because it is hanging and I am sure that it is about to rip off. I just thought that I should tell you before you go to the emergency room.”
This time Ginny had to actually stop and hang on to a pole as they all laughed.
“I don’t know how you kept a straight face for that, Luna. That was brilliant.” Hermione laughed.
“We really need to stop getting kicked out of muggle restaurants. We are running out of ones that we are allowed to go to.” Ginny said trying to be a voice of reason.
“Gosh. I don’t know how you all could handle it. She was acting as if Hermione, Ginny, and I weren’t even there to begin with!” Luna said still laughing.
“I know what you mean.” Ginny said and they all started walking again, “I was ready to bash her brains in, but you beat me to the punch!”
All of them laughed again as they were walking down the streets of London. They were walking back to the house that all of them shared. It was Saturday night and on Saturday night, all of them would usually go out and do something together. Anything for them to have fun and since it was the summer, they would usually just go to dinners or see plays and movies.
It was a little over a year since the Battle Of Hogwarts. All of them had a chance to relax now. It had taken months for that to happen. It wasn’t as much of a difficult thing to forget for Luna and Neville, but Hermione was shaken up a little after the battle. Ron and Harry went to a therapist, Ron because of everything building up like Hermione as well as loosing Fred while Harry went because of everything that had ever happened to Harry. Ginny was usually quiet for months afterward because of Fred’s death. Luna also went to a therapist, but that was only because her father insisted on it since she was taken hostage at the Malfoy Manor. Both her and Neville were fine compared to the others.
After the Battle Of Hogwarts, Harry, Ron, and Hermione went back to Hogwarts for their last year since they missed their seventh year the first time. All six of them got out of Hogwarts together and they decided to go and live in a house. It took a little bit to convince Mrs. Weasley, but their families came to realize that all of them were old enough to live on their own, so it was better for them to live together than all of them to live alone.
When they reached their house, the laughter slowly died and Harry opened the house door. All of them got inside and they took their coats off.
“What I find hilarious is how none of us could apparate because we were all laughing so hard.” Neville said.
All of them nodded and Harry helped Ginny out of her jacket and Ron did the same to Hermione. Both girls thanked their boyfriends before all six of them hung up their coats and put them in the closet. When they were done, all of them went to the living room. All of them sat on the couches and Harry turned on the television. Ginny was sitting beside him and she leaned against him as Luna sighed and said, “I have to go to work at an earlier shift tomorrow so I’m going to bed now. See you all in the afternoon. I’ll try to not wake you guys up.”
“Thanks. Good night, Luna.” They all said and Luna left the room.
All of them had their own rooms. It was part of the deal that they made with their parents if they all roomed together in a house. It was either that everyone had their own room or that the girls shared a couple of rooms with each other and the boys shared a couple of rooms with each other. Of course, they all kept the secret with each other that sometimes they could go into the other’s room for the night.
Hermione also leaned against Ron and he placed his arm around her shoulders.
“You seem tired.” Ron said.
“I surprisingly am.” Hermione agreed.
“I am too. Maybe I am still getting over Friday night.” Ginny agreed.
Harry put on the crime show that all of them watched. Hermione smiled and said, “Luna! The next episode is on. I don’t think that you want to miss it because it is the continued episode.”
All of them laughed as Luna ran into the room. Out of everyone, she was the person who was most into this show. She knew every episode off by heart and she had all of the seasons in her own copy that she bought. Luna sat on the chair and told everyone to be quiet as the show started.
As the show was about to go on, there was a chirping and loud clicking at the window.
“Someone get the owl!” Luna shrilled.
They all laughed again and Neville rose from his seat. He walked over to the window that was beside the door and he opened it.
“Hi. I’ve never seen you before.” Neville said as a barn owl came from outside.
The bird had a yellow envelope in his mouth. It squawked and Neville took the envelope from her mouth to see that it had Harry’s name on it in signature that he had never seen before.
“Harry! It’s for you!” Neville called.
Neville and Harry passed each other as Neville went back into the living room and Harry went to the front door. The bird was resting on the ledge of the window and had the letter back in its mouth. Harry gently took it and the owl waited patiently.
He looked at the unfamiliar letters of his own name. He opened the envelope carefully and unfolded the paper before reading:
Dear Harry:
I’m not sure if you even know about my existence as family to you because I’m sure that if you did then you would’ve contacted me by now, but since the days of Voldemort’s existence are getting stronger we need to speak. We need to plan because we have very little time.
I’m sorry that I can’t explain everything in this letter, but we can’t cause a panic if anyone else ever saw this letter.
That is why I am asking you to meet me tomorrow night at your old house, the house that you grew up in with the Dursleys at nine o’clock. I know that it is a confusing spot, but it is the only place that I know of where we could meet easily. Then we will go to a better spot to talk.
I will meet you then. If you are not there then I will go to your house where we won’t have the privacy that we need. I don’t want this to get out.
Sincerely yours:
Lennox Potter
Harry stared at the letter. Lennox…Lennox Potter. He didn’t know any Potter around him. He didn’t know any Potter that would need to contact him.
But he was supposed to know her. She knew about him, but what was he to her. What her to him?
And the days of Voldemort becoming stronger. Voldemort was dead. Dead and gone as far as Harry knew.
It could’ve been a prank. It could be someone who was with Voldemort and his ideas, but…what if it wasn’t. What if it was something that needed to be talked about? Whoever Lennox was, Harry knew that she was important. He had the whisper in the back of his mind that he should know this name. Lennox Potter…
Harry put the letter in his pocket and he grabbed a piece of paper and pen from the kitchen and wrote down, I’ll meet you then.
Harry placed it in the envelope and gave it to the owl. The owl squawked again and Harry returned to his friends. They stared at him as he sat down.
“Who was the letter from?” Neville asked him.
“No one important. Just Dudley.” Harry said, “I’m going over to his house tomorrow.”
“Dudley got an owl?” Hermione asked surprised.
“Yeah…I guess.” Harry shrugged and tried to keep his mind off of the letter as he watched the rest of the show.
He barely got any sleep that night.
