Chapter Fifteen

I DO NOT OWN HARRY POTTER OR ANY OF THE CHARACTERS FROM THAT SERIES BECAUSE THEY ALL BELONG TO JOANNE KATHLEEN (J.K.) ROWLING!

Chapter Fifteen

Harry gently shook Lennox’s shoulders. She was sleeping on the couch again. All of them were killing time after their dinner by watching television. They had an hour and a half until the Order and the Ministry would come. Lennox said that she would tell her plan to the group when she told it to the Order and the Ministry as well.

All of them were watching television and Lennox was sitting beside Harry, her legs curled to her stomach with her hands loosely around them. While they were watching the show, Harry noticed that Lennox was slowly nodding off and a half hour into the show, Harry saw her eyes finally close before she then unknowingly leaned against Harry, her head resting against him as a pillow. Luna looked at the two and saw a smiling Harry.

He never really felt like he did now. Ginny had done this to him a couple of times, but it had felt different to him this time. It made this time seem, almost…special. He felt a different connection when it was Lennox besides Ginny leaning against him sleeping. He didn’t know why, though, but he just knew that it was a good feeling to have.

Lennox looked up at him as her eyes gently fluttered open.

“Lennox, Hermione and Neville are going to make us some sandwiches. The Ministry is going to be here soon.” Harry told her.

Lennox nodded before she tried her voice by saying, “thank you.”

Harry smiled and so did everyone else in the room. When Lennox spoke, her voice was at full volume and she didn’t cringe.

“Your voice is a lot better.” Harry stated.

Lennox nodded in agreement. As she looked around, she rubbed her eyes tiredly and yawned. She stood up straight when she realized her position and apologized. Hermione was grinning stupidly and she had to cover her mouth with her hand to stop others from noticing it.

“Did you see anything at all?” Harry asked her.

“No…well…I felt something, but I didn’t see anything.” Lennox answered.

“What do you mean by you…felt something?” Ron asked her and Hermione began to calm down a bit, but there was still a smile on her face.

“It’s…when Harry and I felt that You-Know-Who was back was because of our connection. I have something similar to that because when those Death Eaters came to get my blood, they got it to use me in a potion,” Lennox answered. “In the whole spell and potion that he is using to bring people back to life, it takes a long time and it will take a lot of energy from me since they are getting a lot of it from me.”

Ron then nodded before he then asked, “do you know who he has brought back yet?”

Lennoxshrugged.

“Some type of animal formation in the blood, so I’m thinking that is Pettigrew or Greyback. I know that for certain. Then there is a blood that whenever I think of it, I feel as if it is feminine, so I am guessing that is Bellatrix or Umbridge, but my money would be on Bellatrix since she was so faithful to him. As far as I know that is all that I can feel.”

The others nodded and Neville cleared his throat before he asked, “Lennox, I just wanted to ask you something. I’ve just been thinking about it.”

“Go ahead, Neville.” Lennox told him.

“How come you didn’t ever try to talk to Harry? Why didn’t you join Dumbledore’s Army? Why did you not tell Harry yourself right after the war about you and all of the things that Dumbledore taught you?” Neville asked.

Lennox stared at the ground and blinked a couple of times when the memories of everything that she went through had caught up to her. The last question was going to be the worst for her to answer. She knew that for sure and already.

“I didn’t ever talk to Harry because Dumbledore and Severus always told me to keep my distance so that he wouldn’t ever figure anything else and that no one else would. One day, I actually did try to talk to Harry. It was my first year, so Harry you would’ve been in your second. Anyway, it was a couple of months into school, after all of the attacks. Hermione, this would’ve been before you saw the snake, but I wanted to talk to you, Harry. For the first time I wanted to talk to my big brother, but Severus found me and started screaming that I was a fool. He said that I could’ve gotten killed and that the snake would be after me. It was then that he told me what You-Know-Who would do to me. I left it alone.” Lennox said.

Harry put his head to the ground. Though he knew that Lennox had to know the truth, but at the age of eleven, that knowledge would scar her for life.

“That is why I never talked to Harry at school, but I would always try to watch him and take care of him if I could, but those opportunities were rare. And that is also the reason why I didn’t join Dumbledore’s army, but I convinced a couple of Hufflepuffs to join it.” Lennox told him.

“I don’t remember seeing you at all.” Hermione said suddenly.

“I wasn’t ever beside you guys, but I would try to watch you guys in the Great Hall during meals from my house table.” Lennox answered, “and I would walk around you guys sometimes around school, but I was afraid to hurt us both if I ever did anything.”

Harry wondered how Lennox could do that for six years. She had known who her brother was, what he did, and who he was meant to be for basically all of her life, but she never did anything to talk to him except for that one time. Harry was surprised and angry that he had never known about Lennox before then, but he never had to stay away from his own sister. Lennox had to force herself to watch her older brother from afar, trying t do her best to keep him safe without him acknowledging her existence whatsoever.

“And as for your last question, Neville, well I didn’t talk to Harry before Severus told me that he would do his best to give Harry the memories of me and what was going to happen in our future. After Severus’s…passing…I just kind of let a couple of things go and let them take their course. I thought that Harry also just needed time to think everything through, you know, of the Battle of Hogwarts, the dealing with the loss of everyone who died, and then this got thrown on him, I just let everything slide. Look, I know that was irresponsible of me, but I just needed some time to relax. I let that get over the top and now that we are in the situation that we are in.” Lennox said, “I’m so sorry that I did it.”

Harry shook his head.

“You were grieving. All of us were.” Harry told her.

She shook her head.

“No. I was wrong. It’s because of me that this is happening. If we had everything sorted out then we could’ve been a lot more prepared then we are now and we would’ve had such a large head start, but I didn’t.” Lennox said.

“It’s good that you gave everyone time, Lennox.” Luna said, “if we had the whole news back to back with the Battle of Hogwarts then people wouldn’t be able to handle any of the news. It would hurt everyone and they would’ve just forgotten everything. The wizarding world wouldn’t be able to defend anything then, but after some time then people can have a chance to get prepared again.”

Lennox gave Luna a soft smile.

“Thanks.” Lennox told her.

Luna smiled back and Ginny then asked, “while we are asking questions can I ask you something, Lennox?”

“Of course.” Lennox said facing her.

“Where were you during the Battle of Hogwarts?” Ginny asked.

“My father wouldn’t allow me to be there. He made me stay in the house so that I would be protected. I got the news a couple of hours after the battle was over. I got the list of dead from people,” Lennox answered.

“I just have to ask…did you know who all was going to die in the battle?” Ron asked.

Lennox looked at the ground and after a couple of seconds, Ginny stood up.

“Did you know that Fred was going to die?!” Ginny yelled.

Lennox felt tears come into her eyes. Ron’s eyes were now flaring and he felt angrier than he could ever think was possible.

“DID YOU!” Ginny screamed.

“I…no. Not specifically, but I knew that someone in your family was. I only would see a red haired person.” Lennox answered.

“Why the hell didn’t you tell us that?! We could’ve had time with our brothers more!” Ron growled.

“I couldn’t give someone that torture. You would go insane if you knew that someone in your family, possibly you, was going to die in a matter of years, then months, and then finally days. It would kill you alone!” Lennox defended.

“Who else did you see?!” Ron asked.

Harry looked at Lennox’s tears and she whispered, “Lupin. I saw Lupin die. Clearly as well. I also saw Dumbledore die. That’s how my father knew for certain that he would have to kill Dumbledore.”

“Why didn’t you tell anyone?” Hermione asked.

“That would be terrible for a person to know that they would be dying soon. It would make them crazy because they would know that death was approaching them. If you knew that you would die in a matter of years, you would go completely insane. You would go barking mad.” Lennox said.

“Give her a rest. She was the one who saw them die. She also saw our parents die,” Harry said, feeling the need to defend his sister.

“She could’ve told people though! Harry, that was our brother!” Ron yelled.

“Excuse me.” Lennox muttered.

Before anyone could stop her, Lennox had ran into the washroom and shut the door behind her, locking it. When it was done, Lennox wiped her eyes and slid against the door until she was sitting on the floor.

“Lennox!” Harry said knocking at the door, “Lennox he didn’t mean it.”

“Tell me when the Ministry is here.” Was all that Lennox would say back as she silently cried into her hands as she got into the fetal position.
