chapter 2: National Leni's Vacation

Leni could pick four friends to join her on a trip to the country of Tropicalia.

Her school friends Jackie and Mandee were on board instantly. Her friend from work Fiona was interested as well.

Her other friend from work Miguel, was not so keen on the idea.

"Tropicalia?" Miguel said. "Um yeah no. That place is ruled by a ruthless dictator, and full of crime and gangs. Not to mention all the dangerous wildlife there. Besides with you and Fiona gone, someone has to look after the store."

So, the last friend she asked was her older sister Lori.

"Sure," Lori said. "If you're going to another country someone's gotta keep you out of trouble."

...

Later, on the plane to Tropicalia.

"This is so exciting!" Leni said. "I'm going on a tropical vacation with three of my best friends and my favorite sister."

Lori was asked to put her cellphone away while the plane was in flight.

"Oh, great now what am I going to do?" Lori complained.

"We can play a game." Leni suggested. "Hmm... I spy something white."

"Ugh, clouds." Lori replied.

"How did you guess?" Leni said.

...

Once they touched down in Tropicalia they noticed a man holding a sign that read "Loud"

"Oh my gosh is that Chris Hemsworth?" Mandee asked.

"No wait I know that guy." Leni said. "Eddy Kenway?"

"HEY LENI!" Edward said in a jolly voice. "Welcome to Tropicalia! I'll be your guide during your stay here."

"Something seems off about this guy." Lori whispered to Leni.

...

Edward drove the group of girls to a beautiful resort.

"And here is where you will be staying." Edward said.

"AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!" Leni, who was riding shotgun shrieked in terror.

"What is it?" Edward said.

"Spider!" Leni pointed at a large hairy tarantula that had crawled in through the passenger window.

"Oh, sorry about that." Edward reached over, picked up the spider, and through it out the window. "Those spiders are pretty common here. Don't worry though, they may look scary, but I assure you they are quite harmless."

Leni's face had grown pale, and she was shaking.

"Are you alright?" Edward asked.

"Leni literally has severe arachnophobia." Lori explained.

"Excuse me?" Edward said.

"She's literally terrified of spiders." Lori elaborated.

"No, I know what arachnophobia means." Edward explained. "I just didn't think... never mind."

The group got out of the car to see the luxurious hotel that they would be staying at.

"I'm sure she'll be fine." Lori said. "This place is literally amazing."

"You keep using that word." Edward pointed out, "I do not think it means, what you think it means."

Meanwhile the security cameras were watching their every move.

...

Somewhere in the capital building of Tropicalia the leader of the country, Juan Thadict-ator was watching a group of monitors.

Juan was a hansom looking man, with brown skin, black hair, a thin mustache and a goatee. He very closely resembled a young Antonio Banderas.

"So..." Said Juan. "The assassins have found their new champion."

One of the monitors on the screen showed Leni walking into the hotel and suddenly trip.

"What did she trip over?" Juan wondered. "It looks like literally tripped over nothing. Some hero you got there, Eddy. Not that it matters, once I've completed my work on the BFS I will be unstoppable."

The monitors showed Leni introducing herself to the person at the front desk

"Hola!" Leni said in a tone loud enough for the security cameras to pick up. "Me llamo es Leni."

"Does she know you don't have to say "es"?" Juan asked to no one in particular. "Or that the official language of Tropicalia is English?"

...

"Whoa!" Leni said as she entered the hotel room.

The room was huge. It had one main room with a large TV and a couch. Three bedrooms where attached to the main room.

"This isn't a room, it's a house." Lori said. "Where did you say you got those tickets again?"

"My boss gave them to me." Leni explained, flopping down on one of the beds.

"Something about this smells fishy." Lori explained.

"Really, I don't smell anything." Leni said.

"No, Leni." Lori explained. "It's a figure of speech, I means something seems suspicious."

"Quit being so paranoid and live a little." Fiona said.

"Maybe you're right." Lori said. "I might as well enjoy myself while I'm here."

"Hey, let's all go to the pool." Mandee suggested.

"Yyyyaaaayyyy!!!!" Leni shrieked.

...

The hotel had a rather impressive water park, with a wave pool, a lazy river, and plenty of water slides.

On her way to the pool Leni bumped into another guess.

"Oops sorry." Leni apologized.

"Hey, watch where you're going!" The man said. "What are you blind?"

"N-no." Leni said.

"Then what are you retarded or something?" The guy asked.

"W-well I'm... I'm autistic." Leni said nervously.

"Yeah I could have guessed." The man said. "Look at you. Confused look on your face, arms curled up like some kind of fuckin' velociraptor."

"I... b... I... uh..." Leni stammered, her face grew red and hot. She could feel tears coming.

"Oh, is the little retarded girl gonna cry?" The man mocked.

Then Lori cut in.

"Hay leave her alone!" Lori demanded.

"Oh, this your girlfriend?" The man continued to mock.

"Sh-she's my sister." Leni answered fighting back tears.

"Come on Leni." Lori said, comforting her sister. "Let's get in the water. This guy doesn't know you, who cares what he thinks."

"Psh tourists." The man said. As the two girls left, he sat back on his beach chair and sipped his drink.

...

"Excuse me sir." A voice rang in the man's ear a few moments later. He opened his eyes to see Edward Kenway standing above him.

"What do you want?" The man asked.

"Well I left my phone back in my room." Edward explained. "Could you tell me what time it is?"

The man rolled is eyes and reached into his pocket to dig out his phone. While the man was distracted with his phone, Edward quickly slipped something into the man's drink.

"It's about 2:15" The man replied.

"Ah jolly good." Edward said. "The bar should still be open. Tell me, is that where you got that exquisite looking drink?"

"Yeah." The man said, then he told Edward what it was. Some sort of fruity, tropical drink mixed with vodka.

"Well I will be sure to order myself one of those." Edward smiled. "It's really hot today, you'd think the hotel would put on some air conditioning."

"Ugh tell me about it." The man said. "Cheap ass hotel, it's like a damn oven in here."

"Yeah I could really go for a nice refreshing drink." Edward said. Then he left.

The man, now feeling much thirstier than before, took a long slow gulp of his drink. He sat back down and closed his eyes for a minute or two.

Then his stomach started to rumble.

"Oh god!" The man said clutching his stomach. He got up to go to the bathroom, but it was too late.

As soon as the man stood up, his bowels emptied into his swim trunks with a loud and wet "PPPPPPPFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTT!!!!!!"

"Gah!" The man yelled as runny, greenish brown fluid ran down his leg, and pooled on the ground.

"Ah GROSS!" A woman next to him shrieked.

More and more poop oozed out of the rude man's rear end. He fell to his knees, his face turning red, and his veins pressed up against his skin.

"Hey Leni." Fiona pointed out. "Isn't that the guy who was making fun of you earlier?"

The man pulled down his shorts and screamed in pain as a fountain of diarrhea spewed out of his butt.

"MY FUCKIN' ASS IS ON FIRE!!!!" The man screamed.

Half of the people in the pool screamed in terror and ran away, the other half laughed hysterically.

"Yeah, yeah it is." Leni said. Ordinarily Leni Loud was not the kind of person to get joy from other's suffering. But at this moment a huge smile had spread across Leni's face.

It was then that she saw Edward leaving the pool area.

...

Leni chased down Edward in the hallway leading away from the pool.

"Eddy!" Leni said. "I need to talk to you"

"Oh really." Edward turned around.

"Privately." Leni specified.

"Hall's empty." Edward said.

"You saw what happened to that guy back there?" Leni said.

"Carma can be quite hilarious sometimes." Edward snickered. "In tropical climates, dysentery can be a really common problem."

"You did something to him." Leni accused.

Edward smirked. "I saw what he did to you, how he humiliated you. I figured a few doses of an extra strength laxative would teach him a lesson."

"Thank you." Leni said. "If there is any way I can repay you."

"Funny you should ask." Edward said. "Come with me."

...

Leni fallowed Edward out of the hotel into the city.

As they left the heat hit Leni like a brick wall.

"Holy cow that's hot." Leni said. "I think it got even hotter since we arrived."

The city was lively, streets full of people and venders.

Leni looked at Edward who was wearing a white hoodie.

"How can you wear long sleeves in such heat?" Leni asked, panting like a dog in a hot care.

"Ah you Americans are so sheltered." Edward said to himself. "Truthfully, Miss Loud, after living in this country for years I have grown used to the heat. I don't even feel it anymore. Quite frankly I was wondering how you could walk around a cold state like Michigan wearing a sleeveless dress."

"Same way I guess." Leni mumbled.

"Plus." Edward added. "I have secrets under these sleeves, that I would rather not show to the world."

"What do you have an embarrassing tattoo?" Leni asked.

"I have many tattoos." Edward explained. "But none I am ashamed of."

"Oh." Leni's voice became soft, and her face grew sad. She had a pretty good idea what Edward was hiding under his sleeves. "So, do you um... are you...?"

"You wanna know if I'm hiding scars, if I've been cutting myself." Edward said, then he laughed. "No, no my dear. Any scars I cause would not be on my own body."

Leni's sorrow turned into confusion. If Edward Kenway wasn't hiding tattoos or scars, then what was under those sleeves.

"Ok now I'm confused." Leni said. Then a young child about Lincoln's age bumped into her.

"Sorry miss." The child said as he ran off.

"That's ok." Leni said with a warm smile.

Then the child was blocked in his path by Edward Kenway. Edward stood over the child, his arms crossed, and hood draped over his face.

"I think you should return the nice lady's property, young man." Edward demanded.

The kid caught a glimpse of something shiny sticking out of Edwards sleeve and was stricken with fear.

"I'm sorry C-Captain Kenway." The kid stuttered, handing him a lime green wallet.

Leni's jaw dropped, she looked through her purse to see that her wallet had gone missing.

Edward took the wallet from the young boy. "Run along now." Edward said with a smile, and the kid ran off.

"I believe this is yours my lady." Edward handed Leni her wallet back.

"How did you?" Leni said.

"Come with me, I'll tell you more by the car." Edward said.

...

The two of them reached Edward's car.

"You wanted to know my secret." Edward said. "What I hide under these sleeves." He took off his hoodie and tossed it into the car. Under the hoodie Edward had on a blue and white Hawaiian t-shirt, but on his arms was the real shocker. He had some sort of leather straps wrapped around each wrist.

Edward turned to look at Leni, he flicked his wrists and a 6-inch blade extended out of the straps on each arm, just under the palms.

Leni shrieked as the blades came out.

"Like I said." Edward smiled. "The scars I cause are not on my body, but on those of my enemies. Though I suppose that's not very accurate either. Most unfortunate enough to get into a fight with me don't live long enough to form scar tissue. Just holes gushing blood."

"Wh-what do you want from me?" Leni asked.

"Your help." Edward said.

"Help with what?" Leni asked.

"Leni?" Edward asked. "Do you know what an assassin is?"
