Chapter 3: Witch
Pov Lena
"Couldn't we catch a cab or something? I'm not complaining though. Or maybe I am but I surely don't mind to be alone with you for 7 hours."
I ignore Jackson and concentrate on the way to Diamond Lake. My eyes lift up to the sky to see how dark clouds glide over us. It wouldn't surprise me that soon the rain will come pouring down. Jackson seems to notice too as he begins to ramble about his attire or something like that.
"Oh great, it's gonna rain. I hate rain."
"Do you ever shut up?" I ask, irritation laced in my voice. I look over my shoulder to see Jackson with an almost comical look on his face as he watches the clouds turn darker in the minute.
"No, never." He says with smile to me. I roll my eyes but keep taking big steps. The sooner we get there the better.
"But really, doesn't rain bother you?" He asks and I sigh. I never knew that having company could be so tiresome. Especially if you have someone with you who doesn't shut up. I know I should be grateful for the company but being alone for so long has made my anti-social side show up more.
"Why should it? It's just rain, not lava. Besides your a dog, don't tell me you didn't ever run in the rain." He looks offended as he comes to walk beside me.
"As a matter of fact, I try to avoid the rain at all costs." His sour expression makes me chuckle.
"Well doggie, seems like you can't avoid it now." I say as I feel small drops fall on my cheeks and forehead.
He grumbles something under his breath before he quickly jogs behind a tree, disappearing out of my eyesight.
"What the hell are you doing?" I ask, frowning at his behaviour. He doesn't answer what makes me even more suspicious of what he's doing.
The moment I round the tree i almost scream as he stands there naked like the day he was born. I can't help but to run my eyes over his body. When my eyes meet his again he seems amused.
"See something you like?" His cockiness is infuriating.
"Hardly." I mutter and turn my back on him walking further away knowing exactly what he's about to do.
The sudden feeling of his fur against my hand and the strong smell that comes from him confirms my thoughts. He waltzes beside me with his clothes in his mouth.
His yellow eyes look into my probably red ones. It seems like he's grinning at me for some reason.
"You know Jack, I like you more as a wolf. And you must wonder why. Well let's say I like your silent side more than your talkative side." He lets out a huff, pushing his side against me in a pushing manner to make me stumble.
I push him back, trying to be careful and wary of my strength. He suddenly holds back a bit and licks my hand making me jerk away.
"What the hell?" I ask trying to seem mad but somehow I let a small smile grace my face as his wolf makes me think of Eros and my pack.
He gives me a wolfish grin and lets out a grumble. I wipe my hand off at his fur. "You're disgusting." I grumble. "You are lucky I can control myself more now. If this was 6 months ago I probably would have killed you without remorse."
His yellow eyes stare into mine. I don't know why but a strange feeling erupts in me and it makes me half right in the spot. I can't seem to tear my eyes from his and although I try I can't. I feel my fangs pricking in my bottom lip. A warm feeling spreads through my veins but before it can reach it's peak Jackson shifts making me wake up from the trance.
"You alright?" He asks worriedly as he eyes me. I blink my eyes a few times before answering. The warm feeling pulls away and the strange weight on my chest disappears.
"Yeah, let's go." I murmur and make my way further trying to push the strange thoughts to the back of my mind.

To say we were wet was an understatement. Soaked to the bone was the name for it. My hair and clothes sticked to my body and every step I took made my shoes make an awful "soaked" sound. Jackson wasn't any better since he refused to shift again after my strange behaviour. His hair hanged in front of his eyes and I almost made the comment that he looked like a wet dog, which he was, but I refrained upon seeing the irritated look on his face, his scowl almost carved into his face.
He really did hate rain.
We finally made it to the small village and were now standing outside the witches door. She lives at the edge of town, out of sight of almost everyone.
With a quick glance to Jackson I knocked three times on her door.
After a minute or so the wooden, creaky door opened, revealing the small, grey haired women. As soon as she sees who's standing in front of her, her eyes go wide and she tries to shut the door. However, Jackson is quick to stick his feet between the door, stoping the old hag from closing it in front of our faces.
"Not really hospitable, now are we, ma'm?" Jackson asks her with a raised eyebrow. With a push of his hand he throws the door open, almost sending the women flying through her house.
We quickly step in, closing the door behind us.
The aura that hanged here made my other side want to crawl out so I pushed almost everything that would let me go over to the back of my mind. And instead turn my attention to the witch.
"You can't be here, Niña flecha. You are a danger to us all, and I will not let you destroy me." Her voice goes from shuddering to high pitched. I can see the irritated look in Jackson's eyes as he watches the women pull herbs out and mumbling stupid incantations.
"We'll be gone as soon you have answered our questions. And we expect the truth. Then off we'll go and as far as I'm concerned you can even jump on your broom and fly off to Neverland if you please, but right now, you'll give as an answer to what we want to know."
She stops her mumbling and looks terrified at us before nodding her head. "What do you want to know?"
Now it's my turn to speak up. I take a step forward seeing how she trembles under my gaze. "I need to know more about some person named Octavius. It seems that he is someone of great importance and I would like to know more about him and where I can find him."
Her eyes gaze from me to Jackson and back to me. "I don't know very much of him but I can tell you a few things."
I nod my head at her, motioning her to continue.
"The man you are looking for is indeed of big importance. He is very powerful and really old. He was formally considered a king of all species. Why, I don't know, these are tales I've heard from my mother who heard it from hers."
"Where can I find him?"
"I don't know. His realm is a protected land hidden under a barrier of some sort. It seems to be that his land is concealed by 6 ancient pillars with runes on them. They say only certain people can enter, but I wouldn't know where this place is."
I take a deep breath in and without another word I walk out of her home and make my way back with Jackson hot on my heals and our bodies soaked from the rain beating down on us. We've walked so far only to come to one conclusion...
That we are still not much wiser on the topic Octavius and I wonder if we'll ever be because, be honest, who would know how to enter a realm you can't see?
