School Sickness
My temples squeeze, head is foggy,
And my stomach churns like a turbine,
I think what's going on is quite pellucid,
My health is in a steep decline.
Running to each class for attendance,
With the weight of a bag full of bricks,
I'm pushed everyday to my limits,
Crazy how much pain a textbook inflicts.
After nine hours of school, they heap
Hot coals of homework onto my shoulders,
The heat is consuming my time and will,
I'm constantly pinned under boulders.
It's no surprise that I can't get up,
I'm physically incapable of moving,
My body has been weakened for months
And now, it needs time for improving.
