Why is it that society encumbers
Us with all these numbers?
You're a four point oh,
But you're a digit too low.
Or what about ten versus a two?
Like human image is askew.
BMI too big, BMI too small,
There's outliers to them all.
Perfect average drops to floor
With one grade that's poor.
We fight for a scholarship,
Will it matter when decades skip?
Toddlers know how to count,
It can not show our amount.
Numbers shouldn't define us,
We're reduced to plus or minus.
We aren't equations be solved
Our worth is simply dissolved.
If four point oh is our ceiling
Will a thousand be appealing?
Will we focus on surpassing
The expectations amassing?
Can we truly discover a world
Of many opportunities unfurled?
