People make moving on sound so easy. Me included. But I want to take the time to think about this. Moving on is actually a really hard thing to do. I'm not going to go into specifics, but like with my mom: 

I say that she needs to move on to be happy (from an event). 

And yes, it's true. You can't have a future if you never look past the past. But I make it sound so easy. But I know it isn't. Because I can't even move past it. I know that moving on is a hard thing to do, so why do I always make it sound easy. 

So yes, there is truth to what I say. 

You DO need to move on to be happy. But it's way easier said than done.
