"Listen, cupcakes!" Coach Hedge shouted into his megaphone. "Mellie and I have decided that were gonna take you to somewhere special, cuz I suppose I couldn't have saved the world without you people."

Leo rolled his eyes. Of course coach thought that he was the hero here.

"We've decided that we want to bring you to the fair!" Mellie said. "There's one right in the area."

"Ooh! A fair????" Percy asked excitedly. "Is there a log flume? I love log flumes! Annabeth, we're going on the log flume, Kay?"

As all the couples paired off and discussed what rides they liked best, Leo couldn't help but feel alone. After some troubles with Calypso, the titan girl had left him for adventure elsewhere. Now, it was just back to being the 7th wheel.

"Alright, cupcakes! Enough chatter! Let's get this over with- I mean , let's go have some fun!" Coach hedge announced.

When they arrived at the fair, all the couples got out of coach Hedge's minivan, holding hands. Jason and Piper were heading toward the ferris wheel, Frank and Hazel were off to play some games, and Percy was dragging Annabeth to find all the water-related things.

Leo jumped out of the van. "Hey, self. Ready to spend about 4 hours together?" He asked himself.

"Watch where you're going."

Leo looked up. He'd just run into some kid in a black jacket, black pants, and-

"Schist..." Leo muttered. Then he smiled a fake smile. "Hi Nico!"

Nico started to walk away, ear buds playing some emo music Leo didn't care about.

"Were using the buddy system!" Coach Hedge said from behind Leo. "So it looks like you two have to walk around together."

"Noooooooo!!!!!" They both whined.

"But Leo's so annoying!" Nico complained.

"And Nico's so quiet!" Leo huffed.

"Too bad, cupcakes!" Hedge told them. "Now off you go!"

"Maybe this will help you get to know each other better," Mellie suggested. "Then you won't hate each other so much."

"Yeah, maybe," Leo lied. "Well, come on, DiAngelo. Let's get this over with."
