After the whole Thunderblade battle, I told the guys about what I have planned. How if we are to stop Chen, we have to play his rules, but also use them to our advantage. They did not understand at first, so I told them that while we won, we need to keep up a charade. After that, we separate and I met with Neuro, Griffin and Paleman, telling them how appreciative I am of their efforts but then tell them to pretend to be against the guys and I because Chen will do anything to drive a wedge between all of us. (Play smart. Not hard.) Neuro understood though Griffin and Paleman were confused, so I clarified by telling them to pretend that helping the guys and I was just for 'getting in good so they won't expect striking us down.' They understood then. But I did not tell Skylor. Something about her is just... Off. (I wonder what~?)

We all then went back to sleep. In the morning, we had another battle, it being Tox, Master of Poison, against the Master of Shadow, Shade. Have to admit, Shade can be formidable. His powers also reminds me of when Kai and I fought our own at the Fire Temple against Garmadon. A banquet was then held but I took a moment to check on Cole. I saw him and felt... happiness. I did not have time to dwell on it as Garmadon found me and we went to go eat. At least the food is good.

Cole's P.O.V.

I whistle happily as I pick up some fortune cookies and place them on a plate Karloff holds. "Why you whistle? Yesterday Cole was sad. Not today. What changed?" I stop whistling and look at Karloff. "Things are looking up, Karloff. We came here to find a friend, and I found him. All I gotta do now is get Zane and bust him out." I explain with a smile. "Ho, not so easy. Chen's made it nearly impossible to escape this place." Karloff says. "I'm still working out the details, but Zane's a nindroid, a walking computer. If I can get to him, he'll solve anything Chen throws at us in no time." I say with a chipper tone.

I hear Karloff sigh, "Karloff wished he had friend like that." He says. I feel bad for him but I have to stick with the plan. That I have so far. "But first order of business, I gotta let the others know I'm busting him out." I state, grabbing a cookie and putting a message in it. "You our message in cookie?" Karloff asks as I place it on the plate. I chuckle, "I know, right? That's why it's called a fortune cookie." I say. "Well, if you get out, don't focus out Karloff." I look over to find guard nearby. "Yeah, sure. Of course." I grab the plate. "Special order for the banquet's ready." I say. He takes it and I smile as he walks off. "I hope you have good fortune for it to end up in the right hands." "You and me both, Karloff. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get out of here." I respond.

The guard at the door reaches for the plate and I gasp, but his hand got slapped. Whew! (Close one. 😮‍💨) But then I see the keys attached to his belt. And that gives me an idea.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

Kabuki performed as I, the guys, Garmadon and the other remaining Elemental Masters sit at a table in the main building. I sit in-between Lloyd and Paleman then some kabuki place dishes on the table. "Try the horned wasp eggs. Deeeelicious." Chen requests. I watch as it jiggles when Lloyd pokes it. "Uh... I-I think I'll pass." He declines. "Well, I'm curious." I pick up up chopsticks and grab an egg. I eat it and... it's surprisingly tasty. "Huh. Not bad." I comment. "Ho, Ho. That's the spirit, Master of Life." I ignore Chen and eat another egg. What? When you live on the streets, you can't be picky with what you find to eat. (Facts.) "And lighten up, Green Ninja. This isn't a trick. This is a feast to celebrate the nine of you making it to the second round." He announces, his kabuki laughing and cheering for him.

I look over at a bowl filled with soup and eyeballs. Do I dare? Yes. Yes, I do. "And I must congratulate the Master of Shadow's defeat over Master of Poison. She was a bit hard to swallow, am I right?" I roll my eyes at Chen's pun. I have another eyeball as Chen orders the kabuki to laugh harder. I swallow and softly scoff at his immaturity.

My powers flare up and I look over at Lloyd to see him with an uncomfortable expression. "You can relax, Lloyd. Even if there was a fight, now that we told the others Chen's dirty plot to steal our powers, we're safe in our secret alliance." Kai says. "If we're talking alliance, we need everyone in on it. Shadow is pretty shady and is not ashamed of it." Griffin says. I look over at Shade to find him enjoying the food. "Indeed. If you plan to stop Chen, you'll need everyone on board." Garmadon states. "Each fighter that loses, gives him strength. Soon he'll be too powerful for even all of you combined to overcome." He says. I feel suspicion from Lloyd and look to see him look pass me and at Shade, who just eats a big on a stick. Okay, I'm not trying that. It still got the legs on it. Ew. (Bleh!)

I feel a tap on my shoulder and five my attention at Paleman, "Even with our powers, Chen has the others. But how does he have them exactly?" He asks. I'm about to answer. "Ooh, fortune cookies! Bring them to me." Chen exclaims loudly. "They are for your captured- I mean, honored guests." I give a narrow glare at Clouse. I heard that, you dark, suck-up wimp-ard. I stab my chopsticks into the table. "I'm not gonna eat them, Clousy Clouse, just read the fortunes. They're my favorite part." I roll my eyes at Chen's childish behavior. I lean over to Lloyd, "You get a treat with the fortune. To think, he doesn't want a treat." I whisper to him. "Again, we should be getting use to his surprises." He responds.

"Also, I should not be surprised at your strength." I hear Jay and hold up my chopsticks to find them broken. "Oops." I say. I am given a new pair by a kabuki and I thank them. We continue eating but stop as I feel something from Chen. I share the feeling with Neuro and he looks over at me and nods his head. "It has come to my attention that there are rumors floating about... that I am stealing everyone's power. I am." Wow, up and admitted it. Did not think that would have happened this soon. "But it's all for this... staff." He claps his hands and the kabuki open their fans and look ready to perform again. "No, no. Not you, staff. I mean my real staff." Chen clarifies.

The others gasps as we all look over at the staff. A kabuki gives it to Chen, my vision changes as I see all the powers the staff has collected. "The Staff of Elements. It holds the power of your fallen foes, and soon it'll hold all but one. For the last standing in my tournament will win this prize and be the greatest fighter ever in the history of Ninjago." I narrow my eyes at him, crushing the chopsticks in my hands. I hear whispering from the others, thinking about Chen's declaration. "You lie. What about the spell?" I look at Lloyd as he asks Chen. "Spell? What spell?" I force myself to stay seated so I don't jump Clouse. I hate his voice so much. "Don't believe him, it's just another trick." I blink at Lloyd's words, my vision returning to normal. It IS a trick.

"Neuro read- Ow!" I drop the broken sticks and punch Lloyd in the gut to stop him. "Read a lovely book that he suggested for me to take a look at" I interrupted him. I give Lloyd an apologetic look and he sits down. "Uh, yes. It is a good book. And I am interest about that staff." I mentally sigh at that. "And why should we be so quick to believe everything you say? How do we know you're not lying tho get that staff yourself?" Griffin adds, though I feel that he is playing along. I look over at him and he gives me a quick smile then eats his fortune cookie. "And," I speak up, "How do we know for certain that you will give up the staff to the victor?" I ask. "Of course, I will." Chen says. I give him a look and find him smiling widely. I mentally scoff at that. "Well, guess we'll just have to wait and see. Though, it does feel rather wrong to own the powers that belong to another. Kind of makes you wonder what happens if one of us had our power taken away." I add, making sure to heavily imply what I am convey. (She makes a valid point.)

I break eye contact from Chen and take a cookie from the kabuki lady handing them out. "It does sound wrong when you put it like that." I smirk when Paleman said that. I look over to see Clouse and Chen talking, but my powers teller me feel that they are not as frustrated as I thought. I put down the cookie, no longer hungry. "So much for the alliance." Garmadon says. "Why did you stop me?" Lloyd asks me. I give him a serious frown, "We can't just reveal what Chen is up to in front of Chen. Have you learned nothing from how he operates?" I tell him. He looks away and I see him rub his stomach. Crap. I really got to get a handle on my strength. "Sorry, about that." I apologize. "No, it's fine. I just want to stop Chen." He says. I place my hand on his shoulder to comfort him.

"If we're gonna convince anyone," I look over at Jay as scoffs from one kabuki fanning him, "we need proof." He pushes the woman away, but then I gasps as I feel her presence. "We need to, k-oh, find that spell. Would you cut it out?!" He snaps at her. "Jay, it's me." I remove my arm from Lloyd to look at, "Nya?" Yes. Nya. I smile in relief to see her. "Lower your voices. I'm undercover. And to be completely honest, a bit out of my element." She adds. "More use to being entertained rather than being the entertainment." I state. "(Y/N)." I hear Lloyd say in a scolding tone. "What? Just because I'm happy to see her, does not mean I am still not mad at what she did." I state, crossing my arms and huffing as I scowl at the table. (Hmph! 😤)

I feel Nya's emotion through my powers, but I shut them off. She hasn't apologize and I don't want to feel her guilt. "I heard what happens to Cole. That was big of both of you." Cole... Last I check on him he was in high-spirits. "What up, Ninja?" Wait, is that Darreth? I place my hands on the table and listen to Nya, "And in contact with Wu via a mobile base." She says. "If you're undercover, that means you can get close to Clouse's spell book." Kai says. "All we know about it is that it's on page 149. The book is most likely in is quarters." I inform her. "I'll look into it. And it sounds like you have your work cut out for you too." She says.

"How so?" Jay asks her. "How do you think they found out about your little alliance? Someone in your circle of trust is a spy." Nya answers. "A spy?" The guys and Garmadon say in surprise. I feel Clouse's suspicion and we all quickly act casual, Nya covering her face with the fan as she walks away. And I remember my second pair of chopsticks are broken. My powers flare up as someone passes me and I look to find that it is Skylor. She stands stops besides Kai, "Do you know that servant girl?" She asks. Kai stutters, "Know that girl? Heh. Of course not. Why, jealous?" I groan into my hand.

"My fortune tells me Cole and your friend Zane will be breaking out." What?!? I snap my head to see Kai with a red paper in his hands. "Your lucky this didn't end up in the wrong hands." Skylor says. But as she goes back to her seat, I feel it again. I watch her sit down and narrow my eyes at her in suspicion. "He found Zane, I can't believe it. Thanks, Skylor." I focus back on Kai as he said that. "It's good to know there are some people we can trust." I don't know about her, though.

"A spy? Who do you think it is?" Jay questions. "I have my suspicions." Lloyd says. "Speaking of spy, this is definitely a move Chen would pull. By having someone in the tournament to keep the other fighters at each other's throats, it leaves him with the upper hand." I state. "And I think a shady character fits the mold." Lloyd says. I follow his gaze to see Shade. I frown as I look at him. "Just because he can use the shadows to his advantage, doesn't mean he is the spy." I state. "Indeed. We cannot assume things until we know for certain who the spy is." Garmadon says. Lloyd sighs and looks down at his plate. He then perks up, "What about your powers? Can you tell who is the spy?" He asks.

I was about to answer, but halt and look over as I see Clouse whispering to Chen. The man child looks at me and laughs as he holds his staff close. I feel his hunger and... I look at Lloyd. "If I say it here and now, things will only blow up. We need privacy." I state. He looks at me with a frown and placed his hand on mine. I didn't even realize that I was shaking. "Okay." He says. I look down at my plate. I want so badly to stop Chen, but I can't risk losing anyone else.

Third Person P.O.V.

Down in the factory, a guard eats egg rolls while he and two others guard the doors. The keys shining as they hang off the hungry guard's belt.

"It's time." Cole says, his mouth forming a smirk. "But shift not over for hours." Karloff informs. It is for me. Heh, heh." Cole states. "I've been waiting to do this for a long time." He says, then hops over the conveyer belt as he rushes over to the noodle making machine. He hops onto the conveyer belt and runs along it as he eats the noodles. Karloff along with other workers cheer at him for his rebellion. (Rebellion! 😝)

"Get him!" A guard orders. One swings his spear at Cole, but he backflips away and laughs. He rolls a cart of flour it hits two other guards, one falling on his back with a grunt and the other kicks it back at Cole. With a laugh, Cole jumps over it and rolls away to avoid a crate thrown at him. He sits up and ears a fortune cookie on the conveyor belt he rolled under. He chuckles and stands up as he tosses them at the guards, grunting from the food then charges at him. Cole steps back and quickly looks around then sees a rolling table and hops onto it. He rolls off then the table stops as it hits a conveyor belt with noodles on it and he jump flips off it and lands on the ground.

He avoids the spear but then gets jumped by a guard from behind and easily frees himself from them. But he gets kicked back by another and hits against a crate. Cole shakes his head and jumps onto his feet, "Let there be food!" He shouts, tossing a crate at the three goons and they groan from the impact as they land on their backs, the crate breaking a part from the force. The workers cheer in delight at the guards getting their butts kicked. The goons get up and one flips over a crate to land on Cole, but he uses it to jump onto some stacked crates and dodged a jab from a spear. He then flips onto a moving conveyor belt. "Huh. All you can eat. Eat it, guards!" Cole says as he kicks egg rolls at a guard. The guard growls then throws his spear at Cole, who dodges it as he jumps off the belt along with grabbing some egg rolls.

He eats then and avoids a swing of a spear as it hits the bars keeping the belt up. Cole runs off and the guards follow him, meeting at a table which Cole uses a plate to block their spears from hitting him. Cole backs up then feels a broom and gets an idea. He closes his feet around it then spins around, using the handle to sweep the guards off their feet's and land on their backs. Cole flips the plate and it lands on his hand as he smirks, but stops as he hears grunting looks back to find more guards. He tosses the plate at them then runs off. He stops at a belt and grabs the noodles on it, swings it around like a lasso then uses it to wrap around some beams. He pulls back then is pulled forward. "Woo-Hoo!" He whoops as bounces on the noodles, swing through the air. "Go, Cole! Go!" Karloff cheers. But then the noodles snap and Cole screams as he falls. And the guard with the keys catches him. "Got you." He growls then holds Cole in a bear hug as he crushes him, but Cole burps in his face. "Oh! Now I feel better. You got any cake?" He says with a smile.

Then gets tossed into his cell. "Gah!" He grunts. The door slams behind him. "Ha! It was all worth it!" He shouts back, sitting up and looking through his uniform. "For these." He smiles as he holds the keys he swiped from the guard. (Heh-heh~~ 😈)

Zane's P.O.V.

I get the chain off me and look back at the sleeping dragon. I look up at the crack above, my only way of out, then carefully walk by the dragon. I made it then start climbing. But as I did, I hear growling. I look back and gasps a it had awakened. "Da-a-ah!" I lose my grip and roll down. I grunt then shuffle back from the dragon as it gets closer. I close my eyes and accept my fate... "Zane!"

I pant. Waking up and find that I am still chained. But safe. I hear noise and look up to find, "Cole?" He frees me of my chains. "You've returned." I smile in relief at seeing my friend. "Of course I did. I made a promise." He says, helping me up. "Now come here, you shiny new tin can." He hugs me. I am surprised from the warm action, but smile as I welcome it. "Can you feel the love?" Huh? "No." I answer. "But the longer we stand here, the shorter time we have to escape." I state. We start walking. "Ha! You know you were always the smart one." Cole says as he pats my shoulder. He moves forward and stands at the entrance. I do too and see no one. "Let's go." He runs off and I follow him. Yes, let's go.

Third Person P.O.V.

Nya slowly opens the door to Clouse's quarters and after a quick check enters the room, closing the door behind her carefully. She walks to the center of the room, it being like a library with shelves of books and scrolls, and stands at a desk. The spell book laying on it. She opens it and searches through the pages, "Page 102, 122... Aha, page 149." She whispers and reads what is written on the page. She gasps softly as she finds out what it is, "Oh, this would change everything." She states. Footsteps are heard and she gasps as she looks back. Clouse walks to his room and as he is about to open the door, "There's been a breach in the factory. Master Cole has gone missing." A guard informed him, halting from entering his quarters.

Nya thinks quickly and tears out the pages, close the book and runs to hide behind a desk. "Release my pet. She'll make sure he doesn't escape." Clouse orders then enters his quarters. He walks over to his spell book, but then looks around as he felt something off. He hums as he looks at his book, but wipes it a little then grabs it and leaves his room. He closes the door and Nya sighs in relief. (Phew! 😮‍💨)

Within the tunnels, Cole and Zane run to find a way out. "Not that way. That will only take us back to where we started." Zane informs. Cole scoffs in frustration, "Maybe you should be leading." He snips back. However, the two stop as they hear roaring and rumbling. Zane gasps in worry, "I'm not familiar with that sound." He says. "I am. We need to move!" Cole states, then starts running the way the came. "I thought I was leading." Zane says. "Trust me, you'll wanna keep up!" Cole says back. Zane looks back, only to see a pair of dark pink eyes. It slithers out of the darkness to reveal the giant purple serpent. (SNAKE!!! 😱) Zane gasps and immediately runs after Cole. He avoids a bite from the creature and runs with Cole, taking the lead as they run through the tunnels.

They stop as their way is block and Zane places his hand on it, "This isn't a wall. It's the body of the large serpent." He informs. Cole grunts as he tries to think of something. "Come on, we have to find another way." He states. The two turn around and run off, the snake slithering through the tunnels as it searches for its prey. Cole and Zane stop, "Argh. Another dead end." Cole says, seeing the serpent's body block the way. Zane leads down another tunnel, but stops upon seeing the creature slithering by the other paths. "The serpents strategy appears to be surround us and coil inward. Very clever." Zane observes. "Yeah, well, my strategy is not to be eaten." Cole says back. The serpent hisses and Zane points at, making Cole gasp and the two to jump to the side to avoid getting bit.

They end up in another dead end. They two stand close as the serpent towers over them. "It was nice knowing you, Zane. I think this really is our dead end." Cole says. The serpent roaring down at them. It lurches forward, but Zane and Cole separate and it hits its head on the rock wall. It pulls back and shakes its head from the pain. "I don't suppose you can freeze him?" Cole asks Zane. "Chen took my powers like everyone else." Zane informs then stands up, "Pixal, calculate escape scenarios." He says. "Pixal? You got a girl stuck in your head?" Cole questions in confusion. "Calculating escape routes. Activating explosive shurikens." Pixal says.

Zane flicks his wrist as a shuriken appears in his hand. He then fires them on the ground, circling himself and Cole. They detonate and the two scream as the ground crumbles and they fall into a new tunnel. "Huh. I'm gonna like the new you." Cole laughs as he and Zane stand up. "We must move quickly." Zane states. "Lead the way." Cole says. The two run off while the serpent watches them go. (Bye-Bye. 👋)

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

So, we all decided to meet in Kai's suite. We need to find out who the spy is so we can have a little more leverage on Chen. "Like I said, I ain't joining your little alliance. I'm gunning for that staff." Shade says. "Hey, this isn't about an alliance. This is about finding out who is the spy. No one leaves this room until we find out who is passing information to Chen." Lloyd states. Garmadon stands at the doors to guard them.

My powers flare up as I feel the suspicion everyone has towards everyone. "Why are you looking at me, Greenie? I'm not your spy." I hear Shade say. I walk over to stand in their line of sight. "Perhaps I can help." Neuro says. I look over at him to see him with his eyes closed and a hand to his head. I blink and my vision changes to show his elemental aura glowing a dark grey as he uses his powers. He lowers his hand, "I don't know who, but someone here isn't who they say they are." He says. "How do we know we can trust you? Maybe I should use your power and see inside your head." Skylor says and I as look at her, my eyes narrow as I feel the same off-feeling from her. "I'd like to see you try, power hoarder." Neuro argues. (Hey, hey! No violence. 😠)

I hold my my arms to keep them back. "This is what Chen wants." I state, my vision returning to normal. "Exactly. Chen wants us to fight. But we don't have to. There has to be a more civilized way around this." Kai says. "There is." Garmadon speaks up. "Everyone who's ever worked for Chen has the Anacondrai tattoo on their back. Find the tattoo, find the spy." He explains. "Anyone object?" Lloyd asks. Neuro walks up to him and takes off a partial of his clothing to reveal his back. No tattoo. "Can I go now?" He asks. "Not until we check everyone." Lloyd states, stopping him from leaving. "Who's next?" He asks. I shrug and walk up to him, adjust my Gi to reveal my back and show it to him. I correct it and look back as Lloyd gives me a nod. (Can never be too careful?)

"Let's get it on." Griffin says. He shows his back and no tattoo. Kai is next and he is cleared along with Jay. What? You can never be too careful. I felt a spike of worry but not of my own. I look back at the doors and feel Nya's worry. Shoot. I hope she's okay, but she can handle herself. I focus on the last two: Skylor and Shade. "Well, only two left." Lloyd says. "Uh, I hate to do this, but it's your turn. Can I see your back, please?" Kai asks Skylor. "How could you not trust me? I came to you with the fortune cookie." I narrow my eyes at her. Why would she defend herself like that? (Hmmmm. 🤨) I feel my powers tell me that SHE is hiding something. "I'm sorry, but we all have to know." Kai states.

She is about to show her back, "Wait. Where'd Shadow go?" Lloyd speaks and we all look around to find said man gone. "He disappeared through his own shadow." Jay says. I look over just in time to see Shade appear. "There he is! Get him!" Griffin exclaims, I form a whip with my powers. "I ain't your spy, and I ain't your friend-Huh?" I wrap it around his waist. "We're not asking you to be our friend," I start. I then pull back the whip, pulling Shade towards me. I make the whip vanish and grab him by his shirt and turn him around, his back against my chest as I wrap my left arm around his neck. "It's about preventing the destruction of innocent lives." I state. He grunts but I keep a grip on him, careful not to choke him, and work fast as I summon a small icy-dagger from my powers and carefully cut the back of his shirt. I make the dagger vanish and rip the tear more. No tattoo.

"Ah-Oomph!" I grunt my back hits the ground, Shade having flipped me over. (Ouch. 😓) He vanished again and get up as he appears again. Lloyd shoots his powers at him, but Shade disappears again. However, the portrait of Kai falls onto Jay. "Aaah! My leg! Oooh! Get Kai off me of me!" He shouts in pain. Shade appears again and Garmadon jumps at him, only to disappear and reappear behind Garmadon. Master jumps at him, "You cast a long shadow, old man." Shade says, vanishing and the doors open. He got away. "It was Shadow. He must be the spy." Neuro says. I send him a feeling for him to read my mind. He looks at me but closes his eyes then gasps softly. I hold my hand up to my mouth, signing at him to stay quiet. He then starts to leave.

I hear Jay moan in pain and see Lloyd and Griffin get the portrait off him. "Skylor, look, I'm sorry." I look over at Kai as he talks to Skylor. "Don't. And if you still think I'm the spy, watch me walk out that door." She says. I watch her and she stops to reveal her back to show no tattoo. But then my vision changes and I see her elemental aura shine... with a dark purple highlight. (Busted~) I give her a glare as she leaves the room. I clench my hands to keep myself from jumping her. I feel guilt and look over at Kai. "What happened to our alliance?" Jay asks. I blink as I calm down and walk over to him and Lloyd. "What alliance?" Lloyd asks him.

I frown in sympathy for him, laying a hand on his shoulder. "Don't give up yet, bro. We still have time." I tell him. I remove my hand then help Jay sit down. I get on my knees and place my hands on his injured leg then inhale deeply. I close my eyes as I feel my powers respond and start to heal Jay's leg. "Wait," I lose focus as Jay starts talking. I sigh but say nothing, shaking off the purple sparkles from my powers. "You can feel what others feel. You must know who the spy is." I look up at him. I sigh as I stand up. "If you're asking if Shade is the spy, I will tell you now that he isn't." I stand up. "But Skylor didn't have the tattoo. This whole thing was a bust." I look down as I feel guilt... because I know who the spy is. But if I reveal it now... No. I won't let Chen win.

"Aaaaaaah! Ah-Aaaaah!!!" I flinch and hold a hand to my head. "(Y/N), what's wrong?" I hear Lloyd ask. I hold a hand to my head. "I think... I heard Darreth screaming." I answer. "Oh, great. What else can go wrong today?" I hear Jay ask. I then see Nya and her running as Chen orders to capture her. Gah! We can't afford to get sidetracked! WHY IS THIS SO HARD?!?!

Cole's P.O.V.

"They've ordered everyone after some kabuki girl." "What about the escaped factory worker?" Forget him. Chen will make sure the other workers pay for his actions." "Argh. Poor saps." Two guards talk as they pass us. "Poor saps?" I was so focused on finding Zane and getting out of here, I didn't think about the other prisoners in the factory. "Hurry, the exit is just around the bend." Zane says. He walks ahead, but I can't leave. Not yet. "You go, I can't." I tell him. "A ninja doesn't save himself. He protects those who can't protect themselves. I have to go back. I have to go back and save them all." I state.

I start to walk back to the factory. I stop as I feel a hand on my arm. I look at Zane, "Ns a ninja never leaves another ninja's side." He says. I smile. "We'll get off this island one day, Zane.
