(Alright! Onto the tournament itself. Also, I'm just going to say it: this is (Y/N)'s season with what I have planned.)

I felt him... I saw him... Zane... I calm myself and wipe away a tear as we approach the island. "Look at that." "Awesome." I hear the guys breathe out in amazement. "Let me see." "Do you mind?" I snap my head over to Kai and Karlof and put up a wall to separate them. "Save it. You'll have your chance in the tournament." I state. The two look at me and I give them a warning look. Chanting is heard and I make the wall vanish as I look at the island. Right as we dock, lots of people were standing on some ledges as they do some punches. "Welcome to Chen's Island. The Tournament of Elements welcome its brave fighters." Clouse says as he walks the plank to step onto the island. The team and I follow Garmadon as he leads us.

"Master Chen will be pleased you've returned, Sensei Garmadon." Clouse spires at Garmadon. I give him a glare as I clench my hands tightly. "The pleasure is all mine, Clouse." "I'm sure it is." I scoff at his tone while he walks off. I'm keeping my eye on you, Clouse. (Like a hawk!) "Definitely feeling some tension between you two." Jay says as he, I and the rest of the team meet with Garmadon as we get off the boat. "Yeah, and how is it we're on an island I've never seen on any map?" Kai questions Garmadon. "And care to explain how the face to Ninjago's most popular noodle house is currently assembling an underground fighting tournament?" Cole demands. I walk up behind Garmadon and move to be next to him, "You said that there are things you and Wu do not want us to know. But you should know by now that the past does not always remain in the past." I tell him. (It can come back to haunt.)

Garmadon sighs heavily, "Indeed. It does not always." He says. "Master Chen used to be a friend. Now he's a traitor. During the Serpentine Wars, Chen turned against his own kind and sided with the treacherous snakes." He then explains. "The battle you and Uncle Wu fought together in? He was an enemy?" Lloyd asks as he appears next to Cole. Garmadon walks on and we follow as he continues, "He used deception to divide the Elemental Masters. We barely defeated the Serpentine. However, the tide of the war turned in our favor when a certain individual made their grand entrance." He says. "Who?" I hear Jay ask. "The individual was a woman who only involved herself in the conflict for it became a threat to the balance itself." (Can you guess who? 😏)

My eyes widen. "Wait." I stop as I look at the ground, "Was... W-Was she... potentially..." "Yes, (Y/N). It was the Master of Life before you. Your mother." (Gonna faint now.) I feel like I'm falling. I got caught. Nope, definitely fell. Cole placed me on his back to give me a piggyback ride as we continue forward. "Wait, wait, wait! You knew (Y/N)'s mother?" "Why didn't she join the fight sooner?" I hear Jay and Kai ask. I shake my head as I focus back into reality. "(M/N) had said herself that 'with so many masters, her place would be better suited to protecting the people.' Along with, 'I would not want to embarrass, you lot.'" He says. I huff a laugh. "Sounds like she had some sass." I hear Cole say. (She did. 😏) I realize I'm leaning against him, like my cheek on his shoulder, and quickly get off him. "Whoa!" I catch him and set him on his feet as we keep moving. (All the while having some red in the face.) "She was quiet the character. But she had only gotten involved in the actual fighting at that point because she felt the war was escalating in a way that would destroy both sides. And so with her help, we held the line and won. In a deal for his surrender, Chen was never to leave this island." He says.

"Little did we know, he'd begin to build his criminal empire from here." Garmadon says. "He may have divided our ancestors, but he's not gonna divide us." Lloyd states. I progress the information Garmadon had said. He knew my mother. She helped in winning the Serpentine Wars. "Ladies first." I halt as Kai moves us aside as the woman in orange walks by. "Fire will melt her icy heart. Just wait." I roll my eyes and push him forward. "Hey!" "Can it, lover boy. And also, how about not be so mushy to someone who you don't know the name of yet. I already had to PHYSICALLY hold myself back from hurling at Jay's admiration to Nya. You two combined will be more than nauseous." I state. "Hey!" I hear Jay complain. (Pfft! 🤭)

We finally make it to the top of the steps as we wait at a door with the other Elemental Masters. "This is a big island. Zane could be anywhere. Keep an eye out." Cole says. I inhale deeply as I remember seeing Zane. Him and his glowing icy blue eyes. The doors open and we walk along a carpet with people in red robes beating drums while chanting as well as having purple snake tattoos. "So this is the house that noodles built. Ha! Always wanted to go to a red carpet event." I hear Jay joke. I sigh, "Glad to know your humor is still on point." I groan. "Chen lives like a king. Here, he's totally self-sufficient. The only way on or off this island is with his permission, which you have to earn." Garmadon informs us. "You never told me about this place. How do you know so much about this island?" Lloyd asks Garmadon. We all stop as Garmadon does so, "Because before Chen was my enemy, he was my Sensei." Garmadon answers, lowering his robe a little to reveal a purple snake tattoo on his back. Dang. (Plot twist!)

Third Person P.O.V.

The Ninja, Garmadon and Elemental Masters arrived in building with many floors. They sat in a circle on the bottom floor as they wait. "You never told me you had a sensei." Lloyd says to Garmadon. "When I was your age, I... sought a darker means of guidance. He taught me to win at all cost, no matter who I hurt. It wasn't until you saved me that I saw the light." Garmadon tells Lloyd. "Uh, apparently he also never taught you to have a sense of humor. Ow!" Jay yelps as (Y/N) tossed a stone made up her powers at his head. "Who was the one roasted on the boat by Garmadon?" She asks him. (Hah! 🤣)Jay rubs his head before continuing, "Lighten up, we're in an underground fight club. This is supposed to be fun." He says, trying to lighten the mood.

A gong is banged by a man covered in purple snake tattoos along with wearing a snake-skull helmet. Everyone becomes silent as they pay attention. A record plays, "All rise for a Master Chen." Clouse announces. A very decorative chair is lowered down by a pulley system and every stands while watching it. Once the chair lands on the ground, "Welcome to the Tournament of Elements." The man sitting in it announces. He wore extravagant red robes with gold and purple highlights, wore a necklace that had fangs hanging off it, a black cape and a unique headpiece that looked to be made of snake bones with a purple snake-looking head around it its head and tail rested on the man's shoulders. "Now everyone can all die." He says, the doors shutting making everyone look back and gasp. (What an impression. 😒)

"Direct your attention to me." The man, or more precisely Master Chen, says. He laughs rather maniacally after hopping out of his chair. "I forgot to mention he has a penchant for the theatrics." Garmadon whispers to the Ninja. (You don't say?) They sit down along with the rest of the elemental masters. "Hee, hee, hee! Never before have so many Elemental Fighters been under one roof." Chen says excitedly as he walks down the steps and into the center of the bottoms floor. "I see Master of Fire, Earth, Shadow, Speed. Even a prophesied Green Savior. And a former pupil has returned." He lists off the elements, his gaze lingering on Garmadon while the man glares at his former master.

Chen then froze as he does a double take and looks directly at (Y/N). "Ah, but what is this I see? Hmmm?" He hums as he walks up to her. (Y/N) gives him a sharp look as a warning as he stops in front of her. "I see we have, what I assume to be, the Master of Life." He says, giggling a little and sounding sinister. (Y/N) gives him a sharp glare, her powers flaring up as they tell her that this man is hungry. Hungry for power. "What gave it away? The fact that my color is a shade lighter than yours?" She snips. (Oh, fangs are coming out.) Chen steps back as he laughs loudly. (Y/N) rolls her eyes as she also feel this man's derangement. "Oh-ho. You are certainly funny. But speaking of color, I will explain to you its symbolism." He says. "This symbol before you is the symbol for the Anacondrai, fiercest Serpentine warrior to ever roam the land." Chen explains as he direct everyone's attention to the gong that had a snake symbol carved into it.

"Ah, the very tribe that was the most feared that even the other Serpentine did not dare cross them." (Y/N) speaks. "Glad only ONE slither out of that tomb." She says lowly as her face hardens at the memory of that certain snake. (She does NOT like him.) Chen smiles at her knowledge then continues. "Hehehe. Very feared. Their creed: 'Only one can remain.'" Chen says in a dark tone. The gong is banged again then splits apart, revealing a golden bracket filled with pictures of the Elemental Masters lined up. However, one was at the top and in the center for the number of contestants is an odd number and that picture is of (Y/N). "Good, looks like we're each in our own bracket. We won't have to face each other for a while." Kai notes. "Better find Zane before that happens." Lloyd whispers to the others.

"Behold, a Jade Blade." Chen announces as he points to Clouse, who opens a chest and takes said object. "Here, it represents life. Obtain it, move on. Allow your opponent to take it... Loser. The rules are simple. Every match will be different. No two fights will be the same. Your powers will keep you in the tournament. Use it or lose it." Chen states the rules. "Hm. What does Karlof win?" Karlof asks. "Win and stay on the island. Win it all, and you'll receive fortunes beyond your wildest dreams, and a lifetime supply of Master Chen noodles." Chen answers. "But no one is here because of noodles. You want the glory of being the greatest fighter in all of Ninjago." Chen adds. The other Elemental Masters cheer and clap at the thought of being the greatest, but the Ninja and Garmadon remain quiet.

"And what happens if they lose?" Garmadon asks. "Lose? Who here likes to lose?" Chen asks mockingly, the other Elemental Masters laugh while the team still remained quiet. "Isn't there a saying that goes; 'How can we succeed if we never fail?'" (Y/N) speak up. The room goes silent as Chen walks up to her. "Oooooh. Are you only saying that because you are trying to cover that you are afraid to lose?" He asks her. (Y/N) feels with her powers that he is trying to rile her up, but merely gives him a raised brow. "What I mean is, we had to have failed at some point in order to know how to succeed. How else were you able to perfect such recipes in delicious noodles?" She says. Chen is quiet at her response. Then he smirks, "Sounds to me you are quite confident." He says. "In my powers? Yes. But I can give a mean punch without them. The real question: is can anybody here take it?" She declares, smirking definitely at Chen. (She ain't playing around. She AIN'T playing around!)

The two stare down for a while then Chen claps his hands. "Now please, enjoy my island." He says as he turns away from (Y/N) and walks away. "It's a super fun happy place. Ha, ha, ha. Fun time on me." He says. (Y/N)'s smirk drops as she become serious once more. "You'll now each be shown to your rooms." Clouse announces, clapping his hands and another pair of doors open as men and women in fancy robes with lots of makeup enter the room. The Ninja, Garmadon and the Elemental Masters stand up as they watch them. "Ah, just what this place needs. Creepy clowns." Jay comments. "Not clowns. Kabuki, Chen's jesters." Garmadon corrects. Once all kabuki are next to an Elemental Master, they turn and grab an arm as they escort them to their room. "Yeah, well, whatever they are, I don't like 'em. So much for staying together." Cole says. Garmadon remains where he is as he looks up to see the team arrive at different floors. "Always be ready. Never lose focus." Garmadon tells them.

What? What did he say?" Kai asks. "I don't know. Something about, uh, mucus?" Jay guesses from the floor above where Kai is. "Your Fire suite, Master Kai." The kabuki escorting Kai says. She opens the door and Kai enters and is amazed, "Are you kidding me? Ha. Fire!" He says excitedly as he rushes in and looks around. "Whoa. So handsome." He compliments a painting of himself. We walks over to the backyard slides open the doors to walk onto it. "I could get use to this. But then he looks to his left and finds the woman he is crushing on in the room next to his. She too stood on her balcony, her hood down to reveal bright red hair tied up in a ponytail. He looks at her with a lovestruck expression as she turns her head to face him.

"Ah. Looks like we're neighbors. I'm Kai. Master of Fire." He introduces himself to her, lighting his hand on fire to impress her. "Skylor, Master of... Wouldn't you like to know." She teases him with a smirk. (She seems fun.) Kai stares at her with a dopey grin, not paying attention to the fire that has engulfed his hand. "Huh? Ow, ow, ow, ow!" He yelps in pain as he tries to put it out. Skylor holds a hand to her mouth as she laughs a little. (At least he made her laugh. 😊)

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

"Your suite, Master or Life." The kabuki says as she opens the door and lets me in. I enter and look around in amazement at the design of the room. It was mainly a light but not too bright purple and had my symbol of my ninja Gis. I look up to find a chandelier made up of colorful crystals. (Crystals~?)It reminds me of Dad and his passion of gemstones. I walk over to bed and sit on it, but perk up as I see a picture of the team standing on the desk. I grab it and look to see if it being the team and I when we first defeated the Overlord. I focus on Zane and frown softly. I saw him... and that Master Chen is holding his prisoner. My face hardens in anger at the thought of Zane being held prisoner.

I set the picture down as I calm down. I close my eyes as I focus on my connections with the guys. I see Kai flirting with that woman, Jay-Oh! Nope! Not seeing that. (Blegh!) I shake my head as I immediately move on to Cole gorging on food. I giggle softly at that. Then I see Lloyd and he is doing fine. I then see Garmadon as he was escorted out by Clouse. I frown at that and send Garmadon some comfort. He looks around a little until realizing it was me and sends me assurance that he is fine. I smile at that then focus back on trying to find Zane. However, when I sensed him the first time, something wasn't right. Something is missing.

"Fellow fighters," I snap my eyes open as Chen's voice is heard. "hidden on my island are enough Jade Blades for every participant except for one. The one who returns to the Palace Arena empty-handed loses. The tournament begins... Now!" Shoot! I immediately rush out of the suite and look around for a Jade Blade. I hurry over to look down and see other Elemental Masters fight for Fangblades. "May the best fighter win." Chen says then laughs. I take a deep breath and focus. My powers flare up and I  move as Griffin runs pass me. I take a few steps back then run and hop onto the rail then launch off of it. I grab a line to slide down it, looking for a Jade Blade.

I see one and grip the line as I stop then swing it and let go as I summon a platform to land on then jump off it to land on the floor. I halt as Cole appears. We both look at the Jade Blade then at each other. However, my powers flare up and I feel Cole as he feels discomfort for having eaten too much food. (Gasp! That's not Cole! 😠) I narrow my eyes at the imposter, I blink and my vision changes as I see a dark purple aura. "Nice try." I tell them, blinking again as my vision goes back to normal. Fake Cole glares at me and makes a break for the Jade Blade but I rush at them, do a cartwheel then jump up and do a flying kick. They get sent back and hit a wall, they change to reveal a woman with wild purple hair. I look over and grab the Jade Blade. I jump off the floor and hover down as I hold the blade close.

However, I perk up as I close my eyes and see Lloyd as he is being held by a dragon in the carpet he stands on come to life? I feel something else. Dark magic. I open my eyes as I stop and look up. I was about to go back for him, "Leave Clouse to me. Go now. You and the team must stay in the game for as long as you can." I look over at Garmadon as he said that. (Yes, Sir! 🫡) I give him a nod and he hurries off. I hear grunting and look down to find the real Cole getting others off him. "It's mine. Oh, stomach cramp." I roll my eyes. That man and his stomach. I summon a platform and I land on it right as the room shook a little and I look down to see Cole get the Jade Blade. I smile but frown as I see the it get swiped from him. I hear screaming and look up to find that woman from before fall down at me. (Seriously? 😒)

I grunt as she pins me down and we wrestle for the blade. "Give it up." She says. I give her a glare. "What's the first rule of the ninja?" I ask her. "That they are stupid?" She punches me in the face. (Ouch! 😣) I grunt from the pain in my cheek but glare back at her, my grip on the blade tightening. "No. It's ninja... NEVER... quit!" I shout and get my legs under her. I yell as I push her off me and she falls off the platform. I quickly turn over and form a rope to catch her right before she hit the ground. I made the rope vanish and she lands safely. (Phew! 😮‍💨) I sigh then focus as I stand up and hold the Jade Blade in my hand up. To the battle arena.

Third Person P.O.V.

In the battle arena, most of the jade blades have been found and have been placed within a golden snake statue with multiple arms to hold. "Two Jade Blades remaining." Clouse informs as he places one in the statue. Most of the Elements Masters including Lloyd, Jay and (Y/N) were present and still within the tournament. "Wait! I got one!" Cole enters as he runs in with a Jade Blade in his hand. "Cole!" Jay yells in relief at seeing another friend make it. (Y/N) smiles in relief as well. Cole stops and frowns as he looks and notices someone missing. "Woo-hoo! You made it." Jay tells. "Where's Kai?" He asks. "Unsure, but if he does not arrive with a Jade Blade- Loser!" Chen answers. Cole frowns at that but walks up and holds up his blade to them. Clouse takes it and places it within one of the statue's hands. "Only one Jade Blade remaining." Chen states.

Cole walks over to the team, "If Kai doesn't get that blade, we'll be down by two." He whispers to them. "We can't do anything about it. We have to stay in the tournament for as long as we can." (Y/N) whispers back, remembering Garmadon's words. "There's still a chance. We just have to have hope." Jay says optimistically. "Let's hope it is enough." Lloyd states.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

We wait. I honestly felt too nervous and worried to even access my powers right now, but I kept a stoic expression to not let the others know of my feelings. Footsteps are heard and we all look back to the entrance. "Ha, ha, ha! Karlof wins!" Shoot. However, I notice behind Karlof someone with a screwdriver. Wait... he wouldn't. They unscrew Karlof's gauntlet with the blade. "Ah, looks like you got a screw loose." It is Kai. And he did. (😤) He grabs the blade and uses his fire to fly over to the statue and place it in the last spot. I hear the rest of the team cheer, but I am not cheering.

I see him look in a certain direction and I glance over to see that it is that woman again. I roll my eyes and scoff quietly. "We have a loser!" Chen announces. We all look back at Karlof. "That's not fair. He cheated." "I did what I had to do." I give Kai a glare when he said that. "That is not how you win." Garmadon tells him. I nod my head in agreement. "Fine, I lose. Karlof never wanted to be on stinking island." I look back at Karlof. "Oh, I'm sorry to hear you did not enjoy your stay." I glare at Chen. Really not liking this guy's tone. "I guess this worked out for the best. This is goodbye!" He presses a button on his chair and I hear yelling and look back to find Karlof gone as a trap door opened under him. I reach out my hand, but stop and lower it.

"As you can see, lose and you are out. Break any rule, you are out. Never bite the hand that feeds you, Master Chen delicious noodles." Chen says all that but I focused on the goon that crushed Karlof's bracket. "Now rest up. Tomorrow the tournament will recommence." He says and a mini-gong is banged. "What about Karlof? Will he leave the island? You never said what will happen if we lose." I question him. "Hee, hee. No worry. He will be just fine." He says. I continue to glare at him. My powers flare up and I feel that he while is not lying, he is not telling the truth. You will slip eventually, Chen. (Eventually. 😡)

Third Person P.O.V.

After that, the Elemental Masters and the Ninja went to the food hall to eat up. "At least the chow's good." Cole says. "Argh! It's killing me. What's under the trap door? What happens when you lose?" Jay asks panicked. "Don't think about that." Garmadon tells him. "It's all I can think about. Mm!" Jay gets a dumpling shoved into his mouth by (Y/N), who sits in between him and Garmadon. "If you're going to ramble, do it and quietly and not in my ear." She tells him, continuing to look down at her bowl of noodles. Jay quickly eats the dumpling and exhales after swallowing then continues, "I moved on. I feel guilt. These are not good feelings." He says, but being quieter per (Y/N)'s request. "You think you feel bad? Imagine how I feel." Kai argues. "Already have." (Y/N) mutters. (She not happy with him at the moment.)  "Our mission is simple. Tonight we find Zane and get off this crazy island." Kai states, thumping his fist agains the table.

"And just how are we supposed to do that? You heard Chen, break a rule and we're out. He's not gonna let us roam around." Cole argues. "Then it's a good thing we're ninja. Meet me in my room at midnight." Kai counters then tells the team. "You mind if I join?" Paleman asks as he walks up to their table. "Disappear, pal! This is pri-OW!" Jay yelps as he gets whacked in the back of the head by (Y/N). "Sorry about him. And all seats are taken. Maybe next time." She tells him politely. Paleman shrugs then walks off. "Hm... Wow, Jay, you are being really mean." Cole says to Jay. "Ahhhh." Jay moans in pain as he rubs his head. "How am I supposed to know if we can trust him him? See what this island is doing to me? It's corrupting me. It has to stop." He then says. "Ow. Why do you hit so hard?" He asks (Y/N). She gives him a stern look, "Just because we are not here to make friends, doesn't mean we can antagonize them." She states. (Sounds legible.) "Tonight we meet and start the search for Zane." She says to the rest.

Kai's P.O.V.

Have to admit, this new Gi makes me look hot. He, he. I look in the mirror of my suite and light my fist on fire. Heh, looking good there, handsome. "Ha, ha." I strike some poses. But I get serious as I see the clock's reflection and turn back to find that it is midnight. I hurry onto the balcony and look down to find some guards on the ground. I feel a presence and look to find Lloyd jump down onto the wall and Cole appears too. They quickly enter my suite then (Y/N) appears. However she freezes for a moment. "The woman. Play it cool." She whispers then runs into my suite. I was confused at first but I look over to find Skylor on her balcony. Shoot.

Jay lands on the wall of the balcony and I look to find Skylor turn to face this way. Sorry, Jay. I push him, knowing he'll catch himself, but he yells. "W-What was that you said?" Skylor asks. Uh, I said... w-w-Oooh! What a beautiful night." I cover. Laugh nervously and quickly glance down at Jay to see he had caught himself. "Aw, come on." Sorry, Jay. I focus back on Skylor to keep her attention on me. "What do you think happened to Karlof?" She asks. Good. Topic change, but a guilty one. "I feel horrible. If I had known what would happen-" "You did what you had to do to stay in the tournament. I'm sorry if I was cold to you earlier." "Psst." Not now, Jay. "Maybe it's good to have friends here." (It's good to have ones that have your back.) "Kai!" Dang it, Jay! "Jay, would you stop making noise?" I snap at him. "You had asked about my power..." Sorry to cut this short, Skylor. "Uh, yeah, oh, it's so cold out." I excuse and shiver for effect. "Better call it a night. Heh, heh." I bid her night and enter my suite.

I close the doors and sigh. Crap. I didn't say good night. "Oh, okay. Heh. Good night. Heh." I open the doors and lean out to tell her. I lean back and close them. "Smooth." Shut up, (Y/N). "She's in her room, by the way." Thank you, (Y/N). (Such good friends. 😏) I open the doors and find Skylor is gone then hurry over to help Jay. "You just had to leave me hanging, huh, Romeo?" Jay says as I pull him up.

Third Person P.O.V.

Lloyd and Cole relaxed in Kai's room while they waited for him and Jay. (Y/N) sat down in the middle of the rug as she has her eyes close and hands together as she searched for Zane. "Whoa-ho-ho-hoo~ Nice digs." Jay compliments as he looks around Kai's room. "I know! His room is so much nicer than mine. Look, chocolate covered shell peas. I love these." Cole says then eats said treats. He grabs the bowl as laughs and hops onto Kai's bed. "Oh, and how soft your pillows are. Man, mine are made of rock. What a crock." He says, continuing to enjoy himself laying on the bed. "Okay, it was almost impossible to get here. This place is swarming with guards. Any ideas on how we search the island?" Jay says as he gets down to business.

"We travel by shadow. Cover every square inch of this place until we find him." Kai states. Cole stretches and yelps as the bed suddenly flips over. "The island's big. We'll need to split up." Jay says. "No, we stick together." Lloyd states. The bed flips over and Cole pants from the experience. "Uh, guys... This bed is, uh..." He stutters. "Cole, I get it! You like my bed. Would you stop playing around?" Kai says annoyed as he, Lloyd and Jay look over at him. "I think I know how we can search the island." Cole says with a smile. "How exactly?" Jay asks. "Just get on the bed." The guys jump as (Y/N) is standing with them. (Jump-scare! 😝) "Geez! You're too good a ninja sometimes." Jay pants from having been spooked by her sudden appearance.

With that, the Ninja now laid on Kai's bed. "Okay, I feel ridiculous." Lloyd voices. "Ahh~ You're right. The pillows are soft." Jay sighs from the feeling of the pillows. "Is this a joke?" Lloyd asks Cole. "I must've done something to trigger it." Cole defends. "Try going through the motions." (Y/N) tells Cole. He nods then lays back down, "I was laying here, then I stretched..." He says, stretching and the pillow moved forward as his head pushed it, pushing a hidden button. The team yell in surprise as the bed flips over. They hang onto the sheets and the guys gasp at the new area they are in. "Whoa-ho-ho! Secret passageway! Cool." Jay says excitedly as he and the team let go and land on the ground.

Kai lights his hand on fire to provide light. "Nice work, Cole." Kai compliments Cole. "When I saw Zane, he was chained up in some dungeon-like area. He is not on the island, but rather in it." (Y/N) informs as she steps forward. "You saw Zane?" Jay asks her. She stops as she looks back at him and the guys. "I did. But..." She pauses as she remembers back to when she first saw the Nindroid. "But what?" Cole asks her. "Something was... I know it is him, but there was something missing." She replies. The guys were quiet as they took in the information. However, loud grunting is heard. "Quiet. Do you hear that?" Lloyd asks. The team look up to find two holes with light shining through them. "Oh, secret peep holes. Ha, ha! Super cool." Jay fanboys a little as he climbs up the wall to look through the holes. "Sounds like someone's fighting on the other side of this wall." He says, looking through the holes.

"What do you see? Who's fighting?" Cole asks as he and the rest of the team remain on the ground. "It's not a fight. It's Skylor's room. And it looks like she's training." Jay answers. "Let me see! Let me see!" Kai says eagerly as puts out the fire and climbs up. (Y/N) rolls her eyes as she groans loudly. (Boys.)  "Oh~ looks like Kai's got the hots for her." Cole teases. "No, she's competition. "I just wanna know what powers we're up against." Kai defends. He pushes Jay as he tries to look through the peep holes. "Wait your turn." Jay complains. "We can at least share." Kai states. The two watch Skylor as she does some one-armed pushups. "Guys, this is an invasion of privacy." Lloyd scolds them. "Her room doesn't reveal anything about her power." Kai says. But just then Skylor stands up and thrusts her fist forward, it lighting up in flames.

Kai and Jay gasp as they look at each other. "What was it? What did you see?" Cole asks them. "She's... fire." Kai breathes out in shock. "Wait a minute, if we're all descendants of elemental masters..." Lloyd states, but gets interrupted as Cole laughs loudly. "Kai's heart is on fire~ Kai's heart is on fire~ Kai's heart is on fire~" He sing-songs. (Kai's heart is on fire~ ❤️‍🔥 Come on, everyone! 😁) (Y/N) covers her mouth to hide her smile as she laughs a little. "Can we please just keep moving?" Kai snips. (Y/N) stops laughing and smiling as she becomes focus. "Sure. Now let's move." She states.

Cole notices the bowl of chocolate-covered peas and picks it up as he eats them and hurries to catch up with the team. "Huh. It's like a maze down here. Good thing you're leaving a trail back to our room." Kai says. "I'm what?" Cole questions as he looks back to find a trail of peas. "Oh, yeah, I meant to do that." He covers up. "Very clever." (Y/N) smirks at him as she continues forward. Missing the flustered smile on him as he watches her. They come upon a drop off and carefully climb down. Reaching the bottom, they discover a system of tunnels and the walls have stones decorate it.

"Everyone stop!" Lloyd exclaims, grabbing Kai by the shoulder to stop him. Lloyd leans down as he carefully examines the wire on the ground. "Booby traps." He states. "Ha, ha! Booby traps. Even cooler. Ha, ha!" Jay fanboys. Only to receive disapproving frowns from Lloyd and (Y/N). "Or, I mean, kinda cool. I mean, they're totally not cool, you know, 'cause they're dangerous." Jay stutters as he reframes his earlier statement. "From here on out, we have to watch our step." Lloyd states. "Do you hear that? Everyone be quiet." Kai says, the team look down the hall as they hear something.

They hide behind a boulder jutting out the wall and look pass it as some tattooed men walk by, chanting in some unknown language. (Y/N) narrows her eyes at the man with the glass eye who leads some other men. The group then notice another group of tattooed men about to pass them. "Psst." Lloyd gets the others attention as an idea forms. Right as the men pass the boulder, the Ninja ambush them and knock them out cold. The Ninja put on the uniforms. "Wait, all those guys have tattoos." Kai notes. "Don't worry. We have a substitute." Jay says as he holds up the bowl of chocolate-covered peas.

(Y/N)'s P.O.V.

Okay, I have read up a little on cults. And this whole thing really gives off a cult feeling. We used the chocolate to make snake tattoos and once we had the suits ready, we walked down the tunnel and catch up to the group ahead. We soon end up in a spacious room with a snake-carved stone sticking out of the wall hangin above and a staircase in its mouth. For caution we all stood in the last line and the men in front of us chant. I see Clouse standing in front and in the bottom half of the snake statue as stalagmite-fangs sprout out. I hear licking and look to my right to find Cole licking his tattoos. I smack his arm away. "Stop licking your tattoos!" I whisper to him. "It's chocolate. I can't resist." He defends. "You resisted all the noodle goodness at the restaurant, what makes this different?" I argue back. (They kind of sound like-Oh, what is? 🤔)

"Shh! Just try to fit in." Lloyd whispers. We all started to chant with the men. I look up and see Chen appear, but he had a unique staff. It is snake-shaped and carved of a navy blue stone, had two fangs attached to the side of it, a golden emblem with a snake carved into it and I squint to see a glowing light blue crystal in the mouth of the snake. He thumps the end of it on the ground and the men now before him. The guys and I quickly bow to not raise suspicion. "Bring out the loser." Chen announces. Loser? I hear grunting and look over to see Karlof be drag by the glass eye guy and another tattoo man. He is in his metal form and struggled to get free. "Unh! Get hands off Karlof! Karlof wish he never signed up for this." I will myself to stay where I am.

He is brought before Chen as he is thrown forward. "What is chanting for?" He asks. My powers flare up as I feel his worry. "Uh, they're saying... Only one can remain." Chen says. It becomes quiet and I blink as my vision changes, seeing Karlof's elemental power emit from his aura. "Like I said, use it or lose it." Chen says, as Karlof is restrained again. The staff then fires... ice. Karlof tries to fight but then I watch as his powers leave him and enter the staff. The staff glowing an icy blue and a shiny gray. That is what was missing. "He's stolen Karlof's power." I hear Kai say. I blink again as my sight returns to normal and watch as Karlof falls onto his face. "And he used ice. That means he must have already stolen Zane's power too."

My mind is racing. Zane is alive... He is being kept prisoner... And Chen stole his power. I clench my hands into fists. This man... how dare he? HOW DARE HE?!? (Oh. She ain't mad. She's furious! 😨) I feel my powers swell. Screw this! "We have to go!" I snap out of it as I am picked up and thrown over a shoulder. "What the-?!" I find that it is Cole. "Intruders! Stop them! They must not escape!" Crap. I lost myself in my rage. The men chase us and we pass by the men we ambushed. "Ahh! Unh!" "Gah!" I shout as I land on my back after Cole let go of me and fell. However, a gate fell and blocked the men from chasing us. "Phew!" I breathe out as I stand up and give Cole a hand. "A-Ha! Yes!" Kai cheers.

But it was short lived as giant axes fell. "Oh, no!" "Run!" We all sprint to avoid getting chopped. I see a passageway to the right. "Sharp right!" I shout. I all step aside into the passageway, Jay getting slips but gets grabbed by Kai and pulled in before he got hacked in two. "That was close." Cole says. I freeze as I felt something big and not friendly. "We're not out of it yet." I state. A noise was heard, "That sound." Rattling is heard. Oh, no. I look down and find, "That has got to be the second biggest snake I have ever seen!" You said it, Kai. And it had to resemble an Anacondrai. (Of course. Why not? 🙄) It lurches up and we quickly climb up.

The guys yell as we hurriedly climb. We then find a gap and they enter it, "AHH!" I scream as my left leg got stuck in the jaws of the snake. (😱) "(Y/N)!" I keep a tight grip as the snake tries to pull me down. I pant as I try to kick it but it pulls harder on my leg. I grunt. Thank goodness it wasn't one of its fangs, but dang that is a strong jaw. I look into its eyes and feel it's hunger and malice. Hunger... Malice... (Oh, she's reminded of two snakes. That she does NOT like.) I narrow my eyes, "You think you can take me? Well, guess what you over-sized, shame on purple, knockoff gummy worm... you CAN'T!!!" I shout and breathe purple fire from my mouth. (Hidden Dragon, baby!) It roars in pain and lets go of my leg. I quickly climb and take Lloyd's hand that he reaches out and we hurry into the gap. However, it is a dead end and the snake snaps at us. I put up a shield and it bangs its head against it. We all crawl back trying to get away from it, but then we all fall.

I pant and quickly sit up and look around. "Ahh, back to where we started. Never have I been more relieved for that to have happened." I breathe out, laying back down on the guys. I hear Kai, pant, "Are we...?" "Yeah. Barely." Lloyd answers him. "Did we just- Ow!" Cole groans. "No more sneaking around. From now on, let's just follow the rules." Jay says as he gets up.

Rules? RULES? "RULES?!?" I stand up. "The rules are rigged. This whole tournament is rigged!" I shout. "Chen didn't just use Zane to lure us here, he stole his elemental power and plans to steal ours and every other Elemental Master of theirs!" I tell him. "Okay! Okay." He raises his hands in surrender. "Breathe, (Y/N). Breathe." I hear Cole say, feeling his hands on my shoulders. I pant but close my eyes as I take slow inhales and exhales. I sigh deeply once I'm calm. "We may not have found Zane, but we found something just as important. This tournament isn't about glory. It's all about Chen stealing all of our elemental powers." Kai says. "But why? What is he planning?" Lloyd asks. "Unsure, at the moment. But one thing is for sure: if a man like Chen wields the power of all the elements then we and everyone of Ninjago will be in grave danger." I state. (Oof. Quite a danger. 😰)

We all share a look and I don't need my powers to feel the worry that has made its presence into this whole thing. "(Y/N)'s right. But if we're gonna find out what he has planned and find Zane, we're are going to have play by his rules. Agreed?" Kai states. "Agreed." We all respond. "Good thing we weren't spotted. That was close." Cole says. "Yeah, too close." Jay says as he turns around and reveals a hole in his pants. "Sheesh. At least it was just the fabric." I commented. "Me? You had your leg in that thing's mouth!" He responds to me. "Shoot! Your leg!" Cole exclaims and lets go of my shoulders as he lifts my leg up. "Huh?" He says. "What?" I hear Lloyd ask. "It's fine. Wait." Cole says. I look closely and see purple star dust fade. "(Y/N), you healed your leg. Just like on the Dark Island." He says, lowering my leg down. (The benefits of healing powers. ✨✨✨✨)

"I didn't even notice." I comment. "But still, are you okay?" I look at Lloyd, seeing him with a worried frown. "I'm fine. Really." I assure him. "Look, we all have to ride this out for as long as we can and until we find out what Chen has planned, you need to stay in the tournament." I blink in surprise at what Kai said. "Me?" I say in confusion. "He's right." I look at Cole. "Out of all of us, your powers are the most versatile and powerful out of all of us." He says. "Like how you breathed fire through your mouth. Like a dragon!" Jay says. "We can't risk it." I feel a hand on my should and look at Lloyd. He is worried. And so are the rest of the guys. I look down in thought then sigh. "Alright. But we stick together for as long as we can." I state. They nod their heads in agreement.

Don't worry, Zane. We will find you and we will stop Chen. Whatever he has planned. (Whatever it takes.)
