King of Shadows
(Another long one. Enjoy).
We were now on a ship, sailing through the icy waters to head to the location of the Shurikens of Ice. There were large glaciers and it was snowing, but it did not cool the irritation I had. Seriously, we are suppose to be a team and Mister 'my-sister-was-taken' just runs off and does things on his own. There are more important things right now. Besides, they would use her as an advantage rather than harm her. Otherwise, all bets are off.
"I spy something... white." I swear, if he says anything relating to ice again. "Could you try to be quiet for once? This ain't easy." I hear Cole, who was steering the ship. But then it rocked because we hit something. Cole quickly balanced it and we were sailing smoothly again. "I spy something rotten." Okay, that's it. "JAY. If you don't stay silent for five minutes, I will. Rip. Out. Your. Tongue." I warn him, my tone dangerously low. And I didn't hear anything out of him.
I hear Hot-Head make some noise and look to see him shivering. I roll my eyes. For being the 'Master of Fire' he sure gets cold easily. "I sense you are upset." I didn't even have to bother to guess who that is. "Wow. Congratulations. What do you want, a medal?" I sarcastically reply. "I do not believe that is how awards are given out." He says. I drop my head onto the ledge. "It's sarcasm, Zane." I mutter.
"Oh. My apologies. But what is it that has you feeling frustrated?" He asks. I inhale deeply and slowly raise my head. It's not fair that I'm taking my frustration out on him, he doesn't deserve it. "Okay, look, I'm sorry. It's just... there are pressing matters at hand. And I guess I was.... Uh, I don't know, annoyed?" I look at him. Only to be given a blank stare in return. "Okay, very annoyed. I just don't get why he doesn't understand that it's not just his sister at stake! There are countless families out there who could fall under the control of darkness or be killed! The people who could suffer from one small mistake that we cannot make." I rant.
It was quiet for a bit until I feel a hand on my shoulder. "When it comes to the ones we love, everything else does not seem to matter until they are safe." He says. I look down to the water, remaining quiet. "While there are many people with families, the ones close to our hearts are the ones we fight for. They are what drive us to protect them. And the home they, and we, live in." He explains. After that, he walks off and I still stare into the water.
Maybe the reason I was upset with Kai was because I couldn't understand. I never had a sister, or a brother. Or a mother, or a father. I never had any family. I look up to see Master Wu on the top of the ship's head. He gave me a home, but does that make us family? "The most powerful move in Spinjitzu can only be accomplished when all four elements are combined." I snap out of my thinking and give my attention to Master as he jumps onto the boat to be at level with us. "Earth. Ice. Fire. Lightning." He poses for each element. "Uh, what happens-" Jay pauses mid-sentence and looks to me, a little scared. I give him a blank look and gesture for him to continue. "Ahem. What happens when all of them are combined?" He asks. "The Tornado of Creation. The power to create something out of nothing." Master answers, making a cup of tea appear in his hands.
Kai starts spinning and doing some moves. I roll my eyes. "No, Kai. If done incorrectly it will lead to disastrous consequences." Master Wu warns. "Disastrous consequences? Right." He shrugs off. I look to find we are about to hit some land and quickly held on. We hit it and the boys fell on their backs. I look up to notice the sails coated in ice. Fascinating. "Uh, wasn't me." Cole defends. "Did I do that?" Kai questions. Really? "No, Flame Brain. We've reached our destination. The shurikens are just up ahead." I answer. "(Y/N) is correct. We are here." Master says. I look to see some gates made of ice leading to a gigantic mountain. The Shurikens are residing in there.
The boys and I walk to the mountain. We enter the place to see a bunch of skeletons frozen in ice. Must be the work of the dragon. "Whoa. Looks like someone has already been here." Cole comments. We look around some more until we spot the Shurikens of Ice. They were floating high above us and, of course, a dragon head is right above them. "The shurikens." Zane says. Jay and Kai hold up Cole as he helps Zane reach the shurikens, but right as he grabs them, he gets encased in ice. The place starts to fall apart as the dragon awakens. Cole jumps down, he, Kai, and Jay hold Zane as they run.
I watch them run off but then feel some air blow against me. I look behind me to see the dragon. He growls at me threateningly, but I show no fear and hold my hands up to show that I meant no harm. "Shh, shh, shhh. I know, I know. You are only trying to protect the weapons, but we need them to protect Ninjago. We will protect them with our lives. I swear." I softly tell him. He stops growling and leans his head down. I slowly move my hand and place it on his snout. He rumbles softly and I couldn't help letting out a small laugh, softly so to not disturb him.
I remove my hand as he stands and breathes some ice next to me. It takes the form of a sled. I look at him and smile thankfully. "Thanks. Oh, and don't worry about the boys, they have good hearts. Although, they tend not to be the brightest." I say to him. I get on the sled and the dragon gives me a push and I sled down the path.
I couldn't help but giggle like a kid, "Weeeeee!" Is this what it was like to be a kid? "We forgot (Y/N)!" I come to a stop just behind the boys. They didn't have a smooth stop since they were on top each other after having colliding with an ice gate. Cole quickly got off them but stumbled a little, "She's still with the dragon! Come on, we can still make-(Y/N)?" He stops mid-sentence as he turns back to find me. I get off my ice sled and wipe off any snow I have on me. "But how did you get away from the dragon?" Kai asks me, he gets off Jay, who helps Zane up. I walk past him, "Oh, I have my ways." I answer.
"You good, Zane?" I ask. "I am well." He responds, shurikens in hand. "Great. Where to next?" I divert my attention to Master. He pulls out the map and we all look at it. "Oh, how about the nunchucks?" Jay suggests, tapping the symbol for the Nunchucks of Lightning on the map. "I don't see why not." I said. "Then it is settled. We will obtain the Nunchucks of Lightning next. Now, let's get a move on. Chop, chop." Wu says. He walks to the boat, Zane and Jay walking behind him.
I follow after but feel a tap on my shoulder. I look to find Cole with a worry look, "Are you sure you're okay?" He asks. "I'm fine. Really, Cole, it's cool. No pun intended." I assure him. "Heh, uh, yeah. We didn't mean to leave you behind. It was just a-a-" He stutters. "Hey." I stop, grabbing his arm to make him look at me. "I'm okay, see? I know you're afraid of dragons, but once I showed that I wasn't a threat, he warmed up quickly. Now, come one. We have to go and get Golden Weapon number three." I tell him, then let go of him and speed up to catch up to the others.
We soon make our way to the location of the Nunchucks of Lightning. They are on a floating rock really high up in the sky. Oh, and there is lightning everywhere. Luckily, there was a chain attaching it to the ground for us to climb it. We climb up the chain, "We are being followed." Zane says, looking down to find Samukai and skeletons at the bottom of the mountain. "Let's go!" Jay says, as we all climb up the chain. "Alright!" We made it. Jay shows us the nunchucks but then a bright light flashed and a lightning dragon appears. "Woo-hoooo!" Jay jumps and we follow after him. Before we went to get the weapon, Jay made some special backpacks for us. We activate them, releasing the wings and using them to glide away.
I fly near Jay, "I have to admit, these are pretty awesome, Jay!" I yell to him. "Really?! Wow! That's probably the first nice thing you've said to me! Or, at all!" He yells back. "Don't get use to it!" I joke. We continue to glide until we reach the forest to meet up with Master Wu.
We start a fire and set up camp to rest. Cole was playing some drums as Jay and Kai dance. Wu and Zane were meditating and I was leaning against a tree. I watch as they all laugh and have fun. I remember back to when I would watch groups of people play, sing, eat, talk, and all sorts of stuff. Having fun and sharing it with others. I help others, but it's not the same. "Heh, heh! Hey, (Y/N)! Get in on this!" I look up and see Jay lending me a hand to take. "On what?" I ask. "Dance with us! Come on, it's not a party until all join in!" He says.
I look to the others, looking at me with eagerness to join. I start to feel nervous. "Um, that's okay. You guys continue." I decline. "What? Afraid of being upstaged?" Kai teases. "I'm fine really." I insisted. "Come on." Jay groans as he grabs my hands and makes me stand. I feel my heartbeat faster, "It's not going to kill you-" "NO!" I scream. I pull my hands away and take deep breaths.
I regain my breathing and look to the others, they all had stunned faces. "I.... I'm sorry." I apologize sheepishly. Looking away and holding my arms. "Sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." Jay apologizes. "No, I shouldn't have blown up at you like that. You guys just party without me." I say, and move to sit against a tree. "Hey, you don't have to dance." Cole speaks. "We wish for you to be a part of the celebrating." Zane says.
I stand uncertainly. "Didn't you go to any parties before?" Kai asks. I inhale deeply and sigh. "No. The times I would try to talk to people they would look at me and..... Well, let's just say I'm not the best with people. They would think that I'm weird, but I couldn't stand aside while bad people hurt others. I would just watch, never really being a a part of.... Anything." I admit. It was quiet and I was worried that I messed up.
I flinch a little as I felt a hand be placed on my shoulder and look to see Jay with a comforting grin, "Well, you're a part of this team." He states. "Yeah, you kick butt." Kai adds. "You are intelligent and determined to do right." Zane adds. "Your strong and hardworking. You keep going despite all else." Cole says. "Maybe you didn't have people to be with before, but you do now." Jay finishes. I feel....warm. I look to Wu and he gives me a smile, nodding his head. I let go of my arms and hold my hands. "Thanks. I-I never felt so.... Appreciated." I thank them. "And thanks for the assurance, Jay." I tell Jay, giving him a thankful smile.
"No problem." He says. "And hey, if you don't want to dance, how about playing the beat?" Cole offers. I look to him, "Are you sure?" I ask him. "It's easy once you find a rhythm." He affirms. I smile, "Okay. I'm in." I state. The others cheer me on as I walk to Cole. He moves so I can play. I get in position and raise my hands, ready to play the drums. "All you got to do is bang the drums. Like so," He instructs. He gently grabs my wrists and has me lightly bang the drums. "Now you try." He lets me go.
I inhale some air then start playing the drums. I them bang slowly but then I start feeling a rhythm and let myself go with the flow. "There you go!" Cole cheers. "And now that we have music, let us dance." Wu says, before dancing. The guys laugh before they too started dancing along. I continue to bang the drums and grin widely. "Now this is a party." I hear Zane said. So, this is having fun with others. I like it.
"Nya? Wait up!" I jump awake. The fire was out and I look to see everyone asleep, but someone is missing. Kai. "Not again." I groan, wipe away any saliva I drooled and get up. "Why are you running so fast?" I hear him and quickly follow. "Nya, where are you?" I hear Kai and follow where I heard him. I push pass some bushes and stop at what I saw. The Fire Temple. And it's a volcano, of course. This is where the last Golden Weapon is. And.... I see Kai running to it. "Ugh, the things I do." I moan and run after to catch up.
"You can't hurt me here. You're trapped! Banished in the Underworld!" I hear Kai, right as I enter the temple and see a huge shadow with red eyes. "And that is why you are going to remove the Sword of Fire for me." It says to Kai. This can only be the work of one person. Garmadon. "I don't think so!" Kai refuses. "Are you sure about that?" Garmadon questions him. He disappears and I hear something. A person wrapped in chains hangs above the lava. A female. Little younger than me with short black hair cut in a bob. "Kai!" "Nya!" This is Kai's sister.
"If you don't remove the sword, how else can you cut the chains to save your precious little sister?" Garmadon asks. "You know it's a trap! I can....break my....self!" Nya tells Kai, trying to get herself free. But those chains won't budge. "Okay, that's tight." What did I say? But then the chain starts to lower her. "Nya!" Kai calls out and rushes to save her. "Tick tock. Tick. Tock." Garmadon mocks. Kai pauses then makes his move. He grabs the sword and then does Spinjitzu. He cuts the chain and saves his sister.
I let out a sigh in relief. I didn't even know I was holding my breath. I hear Garmadon laugh sinisterly. "Stay close." "Trust me, I'm not going anywhere." I hear Kai and Nya. I pull out my fans, ready to fight. "You can't hurt us! You're only a shadow!" Kai declares at Garmadon as the shadow appears again. "Even shadows have their uses." Garmadon states. "Kai! Look out!" I hear Nya and I move to see Kai fight against his own shadow. "Stay back, Nya." Kai tells his sister. "Stay back, stay close, make up your mind!" Nya replies back but obeys and hides behind a rock. Kai tries to hit his shadow with the sword but it only phases through it. It then fights back and hits Kai, it delivers a kick and knocks Kai back. "That's not fair!" Nya complains.
"Then let's even out the odds." I declare. I move so my shadow be aligned to fight against Kai's. "(Y/N)?" I hear Kai ask, surprised."Who?" I hear Nya ask, confused. I focus on the shadow as I fight it. I was able to dodge its attacks and use my shadow to land hits on it. It brought its sword down and I use my fans to block it. I push back, knocking it off balance, then deliver a swift spin-kick.
"My, what an unexpected twist. And who may you be?" I hear Garmadon ask. "I don't feel like conversing with a shadow." I scoff. "Feisty. You have spirit. Passion. You're not like the others, so why bother with them?" He asks. Oh, please. "Don't think you can play your mind games on me. I'm not going to stand by and let you use the weapons to complete your own dark and twisted ambitions." I determinedly state, not letting my guard down. He just chuckles darkly. "Then all I can say is, hope you have enough fight in you." He says.
My shadow comes to life than multiplies so I was outnumbered. I didn't stand down and got ready to fight. "Ten against one doesn't seem fair." I look to see Kai standing behind me. "Kai, what are doing? This is your chance. Take your sister and escape, get the sword to the others!" I tell him. "I'm not leaving you alone, (Y/N)! We're a team. We face things together, not separate. Besides, I was the one tricked, so let me help clean my mess." He says, readying the sword. I give him a grateful smile and got ready to fight.
Kai attacked first but, like before, the sword phases through the shadows. I could only dodge because it was my shadow and I couldn't land any hits. I was grabbed from behind and one punched me in the gut. I let out a moan in pain. They toss me and I land roughly on my face, dropping my fans. "Ow." I feel some hands help me up. "Are you okay?" I look to see Nya. "Yeah." I groan out. I get on my feet and Nya hands me my fans. I thank her but than see her look behind me and gasp in fear. I turn around to find Kai on his back and one of the shadows grab the Sword of Fire.
But then Master Wu appears and I smile in relief. He uses his shadow to combat against the evil ones, even making a giant falcon making some run away in fear. He lets out a laugh and I cover my mouth to keep myself from laughing out loud. He then delivers a swift spinning kick to the shadow holding the sword. He jumps, grabs it, and lands safely. "Brother," Garmadon speaks. "I see you protect two, but what of the other three?" He questions. "They are safe! Far from your grasp, Garmadon!" Master replies. Wait. "I wouldn't be so confident." He then summons an orb of light and it showed us the campsite. The Skeleton men have ambushed them. They tied up Jay, Cole, and Zane. They also took the rest of the Golden Weapons. The orb vanishes along with Garmadon.
Of course. We obtain the weapons and they catch us with our guard down. "My brother must not unite the four weapons. We must keep them apart." Master states and starts running. Kai, Nya, and I follow him to get out of here. "Awaken Guardian of the Deep! They're stealing the sword! You must not let them escape." Garmadon commands. Master Wu jumps onto the guardian's head but jumps down quickly after realizing. We all back away from the fire dragon.
It roars at us, making Nya scream in fear. It swings its tail, which causes some stalactites to fall and block the entrance to the temple. "There's no way out. He's taken away all our options." Kai says. "All but one." Wu counters. He then jumps onto a rock. "Sensei, what are you doing?" Kai questions. Wu uses the sword to cut the rock, setting it, and himself, adrift. My eyes widen. No. "NO, YOU FOOL!" I hear Garmadon, but I only focus on Wu. "If he is to bring the weapons here, then I will take the Sword of Fire to the Underworld. It is my sacrifice to bear." He sits down on the rock.
"No. It's mine. I shouldn't have come in my own. You don't have to do this!" I hear Kai. "There has to be another way!" But Wu pulls out a teapot and cup, then goes over the edge. "No." I breathe out. "Noooooooooo!" I hear Kai scream. It breaks my gaze from where Wu was and look to find he had collapsed onto his hands and knees. "Then I will see you there, brother." Garmadon hisses, before disappearing.
"It's all my fault. Sensei won't be able to hold off for long." Kai says, feeling guilty. "Forget Sensei, what about us?" Nya asks, looking behind us. I look back to see the dragon stand tall with his wings raised to intimidate us. "Nya, stay behind me." Kai states, now standing tall. But I walked and stand between him and the dragon. "Wha-(Y/N)? What are you doing?" I hear Kai but I focus my attention on the dragon.
He growls and leans his head down, baring his teeth. I shush him gently. "It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you." I softly tell him. He continues to growl but I show no fear. I hear footsteps and I look to my left to see Kai stand next to me. He looks to me then to the dragon. "We... We were only trying to protect the sword, just like you. But now we need your help." He says softly. He looks at me and I smile. I feel the dragon calm down and I have no idea how I felt it.
I gently grab Kai's wrist and lift his hand to be held in front of the dragon's snout. Kai gives me a nervous look but I smile and nod my head. I let go of him and he looks at the dragon. The dragon looks at his hand for a moment then let out a soft rumble as he presses his snout into it. Kai reels back a little in surprise before breathlessly chuckling. "Wow." He sighs out in amazement as he starts petting the dragon.
I smile proudly as I watch. "How did you know it wouldn't hurt us?" I look at Nya. She looks at me briefly before she looks at her brother and the dragon. "He was only doing what he was tasked to do." I explain. "Protect the Golden Weapon." Kai says. "Yes. The dragons we encounter before were only doing their job. Once he saw that we didn't mean any harm, he calmed down. He trusts us now." I clarify. Kai smiles but then frowns, "But what about Sensei? He-" "Went to the Underworld to face Garmadon." I said in realization. He must be okay then. Phew. "But how?" He asks. "He must have known about an entrance or a rift that allowed him to cross over." I said.
"But he won't win. And the Skeleton men must already be back in the Underworld with the other three weapons." Kai says. "But maybe there is a way to follow them." Nya suggests, walking to stand next to her brother and starts petting the dragon. "Kai, remember the stories father use to tell? The dragons could travel between worlds." She says. "Dragons aren't from this world." Kai states. I smirk as I feel a plan coming on. "So, now what?" I ask. Kai looks to me and smirks, "First, we get out of here, then we get to the others." He states. "But last we saw them they were tied up." Nya reminds us. But then I feel some familiar presences coming to the temple. "It's gonna take a lot more than rope to hold them." I state.
"Kai! (Y/N)! Sensei!" We hear Cole from outside the temple. I look to the dragon, "Do you by chance know another way out?" I ask him. He nods and bends down. Kai hops on and looks down at me and Nya. "Wanna ride?" He jokes, smirking. "You're too kind." Nya replies with sarcasm and hops onto the dragon behind Kai. I jump and land behind her, settling myself on the dragon. "Great. The one place no mortal can cross over." We heard Cole. He sounds defeated. Kai and I put on our hoods.
"We may not be able to cross over," Kai starts. The Fire Temple then opens, splitting in half might I add. "But a dragon can." Kai finishes. The mighty beast roars causing Cole to let out a scared scream and hide behind one the doors. I admit, I giggle a little. "Our father use to tell us stories about the dragons, that they were mystical creatures that belong to both worlds and ferry between them." Nya tells them as me and Kai jump off and land on the ground. "Are you insane?!?" Cole stutters a little as he asks us in disbelief. "Once he realized we were protecting the Sword of Fire, huh, he actually became quite a softy." Kai says, giving the dragon a pat on the leg. He laughs as the big guy gives him a nuzzle, "Knock it off."
I laugh also and Nya does too. I hear wheezing and look to find Jay coughing. What did I miss? "He cannot talk, but he wants to know if you like blue?" Zane translates. "It's my favorite color." Nya answers. "Yes." Jay wheezes out. I shake my head playfully. I see Nya hop off the dragon and land next to Kai. He takes off his hood as he looks at her with a serious look. "Nya," "This is goodbye, isn't it?" She says, sadly. Kai nods solemnly. But this doesn't make sense. He went through all of this, became a ninja to be reunited with her. "No." I state firmly, flipping off my hood.
I walk over and stand in front of Nya and Kai. "(Y/N)-" "No, Kai." I interrupt him. "You went through all that training to be strong enough to get your sister back. We've fought skeletons together and now you're saying that there's a chance we won't make it out of this? I'm not buying it." I strongly tell him. I look at Nya and gently grasp her hands with mine, looking into her eyes with determination, "We will return with Wu and the weapons. All of us. I promise. You and your brother will not be apart for long." I tell her. She looks at me with surprise but then nods her head. I let go of her hands as she looks at her brother. "Come back to me in one piece, okay?" She tells him. Kai nods his head. "I don't want to run the store on my own." She jokes. They own a store?
"I promise I won't be gone for long." Kai tells her. He looks to me and gives me a thankful smile then jumps onto the dragon. Okay, we need to give this guy a name. "I'll keep a candle lit outside our shop until you return." Nya states. Jay and Zane hop onto the dragon but I notice someone was absent. "Uh, you guys go on ahead. There's not enough room for all of us on that... thing." Cole says, still hiding behind a gate. I hear the dragon make an offended huff and I roll my eyes. I walk over to Cole and grab his arm. "You're right about one thing, Cole." I start then start dragging him as I walk to the others. "Which is why we're making some pit stops before we go to the Underworld." I state. "How are you this strong?" I hear Cole ask as I keep my grip on him. I grin mischievously.
So, the 'pit stops' were actually the previous locations of the Golden Weapons and we got the other dragons to help us. I was riding with Cole on the earth dragon. He was holding onto the poles attach to the saddle for dear life. "Easy. Not so fast." He says. I roll my eyes playfully. Oh. And we also got some new Gis, these having a dragon on them. Mine was the only one that was not breathing anything but I didn't mind.
The dragons fly across the sky and I couldn't help but lend my hand out to touch the clouds. "Whoa! This is awesome!" I hear Kai exclaim. "Yes, this is quite fun." I hear Zane. I look back at Cole as he still held onto the poles. "It's okay, Cole. I promise you won't die. Besides, this guy is pretty sweet." I tell him, reaching out my hand to give the earth dragon a scratch. He rumbles approvingly then focuses on flying. "So how do the dragons cross over into the underworld?" Cole calls out. "I think we're about to find ooo-UUUUUTT!" Kai says then screams as all the dragons dive down.
The guys yell as we get closer to the ground but I remain calm. The dragons then start spinning rapidly and a portal opens. We went through it and we end up in a dark tunnel with some glowing purple crystals in it. "Is it over?" Cole asks. "Hardly. I hope these dragons know what they're doing." Kai replies. "Of course, they know! Have faith!" I shout. We split up and me and Cole followed Kai. The tunnels had spikes poking out and fire sprouting from the walls, but the dragons skillfully dodge them. We meet up with the others and I feel that we are getting close. "They're speeding up. Hold on!" Kai says.
Everything went black, but then the dragons screech to a halt. I hold on tight but Cole went flying over my head as the rest of the guys were flung from the saddles and land on solid ground. "Solid ground. We made it!" Cole says, but he was too loud and it echoed. I hope no one heard us. I get off the earth dragon and give him a thankful pat. "Good boy." I compliment him. He gives me a lick and I playfully groan, wiping the saliva off me. I hear some growling and look to see the other dragons looking at us. Oh boy. Jealousy. "You're all good boys." I tell them and give them pats as I walk my way to the human boys.
"Stay here. We don't want you to bring any attention to yourselves. Stay safe." I tell the fire dragon. He nods and nuzzles me a little. "Okay, okay. Thank you." I giggle softly and move to stand in between Cole and Zane. I get a good look at the Underworld. Wow. It is a dark void with large floating rocks with bridges connecting them. I look to find a temple with bones decorating it along with a bunch of skeletons there, surrounding it. "Sensei's inside." Zane confirms. "They're expecting us." Kai states.
We use the stalactites on the ceiling to grab onto and travel to get to the temple unnoticed. I hear something break and look back to find a piece of the one Kai was holding onto fall and saw that there was lava at the bottom, under the floating rock the temple is on. Just when I thought things were going too well. But the rock ended up nailing a bonehead right on the skull. "Come on! We have to keep going." I whisper to Kai. He nods his head and we continue forward.
We take a rest as we all grab onto some skinner rock spikes. "Can I be the first to say it's been an absolute pleasure since Jay lost his voice." I hear Cole talking, but then I hear Jay try and fail to say something. I then feel the spikes start to move and could feel malice from something very, VERY close. "Uh, I think Jay is trying to tell us that we have grabbed and are now holding onto the legs of giant, Underworld spiders." I state, in a monotone voice. We all look up and find, yep, giant spiders starring down at us with red eyes and baring their huge fangs. We freak out and let go of them.
We land on the rock with the temple on it. Thank goodness. But the boys land on their faces while I land on my feet, (Author speaking: Black Widow style). They cough loudly to regain their breath. "Such grace." I mutter, standing up straight. "Uuuhh, if there are more than one ninja, is it ninjas....or just ninja?" I look over to find a skeleton with a metal eye ask another one that was wearing a black helmet. Wait, aren't they the ones that argued about the donut-shaped rock? "I think it's just ninja." The black helmet one answers. Yep, it's them. "Oh, okay. Then, NINJAAAAAA!"
The boys got up and we all stand back-to-back, pulling out our weapons, ready to fight. "I count ten boneheads to every one of us. I think I like these odds." Coles says, excitedly. "Uh oh," The spiders lowers themselves down. "Anyone got any bright ideas?!" Kai asks. We back up until we are, literally, back-to-back. Me in between Jay and Kai. "Any ideas? I'm still all ears." Kai says, starting to sound tense. He swings his sword to keep some skeleton back, but it didn't do any good. Jay then tried to say something but we couldn't understand him. "You feel a weird sensation?" Cole interprets. Jay shakes his head and tries telling us again. "You ate an odd crustacean?" Zane guesses. Jay says something again, "I got it, I got it ! Two natives on vacation." Kai states, proudly putting his hands on his hips. But it makes Jay sigh tiredly.
Then it hits me. "The Tornado of Creation!" I exclaim. "YES!" Jay emphasizes, his voice back to normal. The other guys 'ooohh' and I roll my eyes. "Welcome back." Zane congratulates Jay with the return of his voice. "But it could lead to disastrous consequences." Cole remarks. "We're about to have a disastrous consequence." Kai states, us getting back-to-back once more. "We don't have a choice." Other than getting chopped up by boneheads.
"Let's do this. Earth." Cole starts, performing Spinjitzu. I jump and step on some skeleton heads as I get a good distance and watch. "Fire!" Kai goes next and the skeletons become afraid as they back away. "Ice!" Zane states. "Lightning!" Jay joins. "NINJA-GO!" They combine together and I watch in awe, but something is wrong. It's becoming unstable. "(Y/N)! We need you!" I hear Kai. "But Wu said-" "We need you, (Y/N)! Hurry! We can't hold on for much longer!" Cole interrupted me.
I don't even know what my power is. I close my eyes and take a deep breathe. I open them and become determine. I make my way to the others, "NINJA-GOOO!" I shout as I perform Spinjitzu. I join with the others and the tornado becomes stable. As we do the Tornado of Creation, I close my eyes tightly as I feel my head ache a bit. I then open them and find that my vision has changed. I see so much. I look to see the boys, each having a color surround them like an aura. Kai has a fiery red with fire detail, Cole has a dark brown to represent earth with some orange tinted in, Jay had a blue one with some sparks, and Zane had a bright blue with some white snow. I could not only see their auras, but their elements. There is so much I do not know yet, but I will get there.
We pull in the skeletons and spiders along with the vehicles. I could see their auras, but not the vehicles. Note: can only see auras that have sentience. We cross the bridge to get to the temple and suck up some of it too. We all separate and look at what we created. A giant ferris wheel that imprisoned the skeletons. "Come on! There's no time to waste." Kai states. I could still see their auras but ignore that and follow after them as we jump into a hole.
We hear fighting and look to find Wu, thank goodness he's okay, fighting Samukai. The skeletal general fights against Master with the other Golden Weapons as Master combats against him with the Sword of Fire. I see that Master Wu has a golden aura, but had something else I couldn't quite make out. But I felt a dark presence and look pass him to see.... Garmadon. He has a foreboding, dark purple aura. And like Wu, he has something else too.
I focus back an the fight and others make their way to help Master, but Kai stops them. "No. This is Sensei's fight." He states, sternly. We obey and watch. Wu blasts some fire at Samukai with the sword, but the skeleton jumps and dodged it. I could also see the weapons for they radiated elemental power. Samukai throws one of the Shurikens of Ice and it hits the sword. It causes Wu to back up and plant it in the ground, but it freezes. Samukai powers up the Nunchucks of Lightning and blasts Wu, but Wu was able to free the sword and dodge in time.
Samukai then uses the Scythe of Quakes and causes the floor to split. It breaks apart and I start to get worried. Wu jumps and cartwheels as Samukai throws the shurikens but catches him by surprise as he blasts Wu with lightning from the nunchucks. I gasp as he is blown back and drops the sword. It landing at Samukai's feet. I move to help, but Cole holds me back. I look at him as he shakes his head. I inhale some air and stand next to him as I continue to watch.
"Bring me the four weapons." Garmadon orders. Samukai look a back at him then looks down and grabs the sword. He stands straight, all four weapons in hand. Stupid four arms. "No. You will obey me now!" He declares, turning to face Garmadon. But the Dark Lord only chuckles darkly. The weapons start to react with each other. Master Wu jumps to us and we move forward a bit then stop as we all watch at what is happening.
The weapons were releasing a lot of power but before I could watch more, my head starts to act up again. I close my eyes as I hold my head and start to feel like I'm gonna fall, but I feel someone's arms wrap around me gently and hold me up. I open my eyes and find that my vision is back to normal. I look to see Cole giving me a worried look. I give him a nod to let him know I'm okay.
"No one can handle all their power at once." Wu states. I stand up straight but Cole still has his arms wrapped around me. I didn't mind and went back to watching what is happening. The weapons move more frantically. "Selfish fool, you think I wouldn't plan on your betrayal?" Garmadon tells Samukai. "What's.... Happening.... to me?" Samukai asks, scared. "You've fallen right into my master plan. Not even I can handle all their power! But now that they are combined, it'll create a vortex through space and time. Allowing me to finally escape this ghastly place!" Garmadon states.
Samukai screams as he is lifted into the air and disappears. I can't feel him. He is gone. Garmadon gets off his thrown and jumps forward right as a vortex appears behind him. "Father would not want you to do this, brother." Wu pleads to Garmadon. "Father is no longer here." Garmadon bites back. I, Master, and the boys cover our eyes as the vortex gets brighter. "Good and evil, there has always been a balance! But where I go the balance can be destroyed. Soon, I will be strong enough to possess the four weapons, so I may recreate the world in my image!" I move my arm to see Garmadon about to enter the vortex. "You," He turns back and points at Wu. "You we're always his favorite." He hisses then finally enters the vortex.
I cover my eyes as a bright flash of light happens. I lower my arm that Garmadon and the vortex have vanished. Cole lets go of me and we all jump-flip to the weapons. "He is gone, but he will return." Master says. "Then we'll be ready for him." Kai states. He and the others obtaining the weapons. "And keep an eye out if he has any more evil plans." Cole adds. Wu looks at us and nods approvingly. "Then I have done my part. The balance has been restored. For now." He says, and all mysterious too. Classic Wu.
"Well, I don't know about you guys but I'm ready to get the heck out of here." I state loudly. "Same here." Jay agrees. "Let us make our way out." Zane says. "Allow me." I tell them. I lift up my mask and put my hand up to my mouth and blow a loud whistle. Once I was done, I remove my hand from my mouth and put my mask down. It was quiet for a bit. "Uh, are we suppose to-" But Jay got interrupted as the place shook a bit. The boys lost their balance for a bit, but I was unbothered and smile widely under my mask. "Our rides are here." I state.
We get on the dragons and they open a portal, getting us back to Ninjago. We dropped Wu at the monastery and then made our way to Kai's village to see Nya. I ride with him as we land in front of his and Nya's shop. "Kai!" Nya rushes out and Kai hops off to hug his sister. I smile happily as I take off my hood and hop off the fire dragon. Nya looks to me and breaks her hug with Kai as she approaches me. She gives me a smile then hugs me. I freeze up a little and hold my hands up, not knowing what to do. "Thanks." I hear her whisper to me. I slowly relax and hug her back. This feels....nice. So this is a hug? I like it. "My turn!" I hear Jay and look to see him hop off his dragon as he runs to hug Nya. I shake my head playfully and pull away from Nya as she hugs Jay.
The villagers cheer as the danger has passed. "I'm so happy you're back." Nya says. "For now. But it's not over. Lord Garmadon will return." Kai states seriously. The crowd quiets down at the mention of Garmadon's return. "And we'll be ready for him." Cole says. He and Zane joins us and we all smile confidently. They then put together the Golden Weapons, but that caused an explosion and I raise my arms in defense as I'm blown back. I use my arms to help me sit up and give the boys an unamused look.
"Here's an idea, how about not combining the weapons. Okay?" I suggest rhetorically. "Yep. Got to remember that." Kai says, as all of us stand up on our feet. "Good idea." Cole agrees. "We'll stick to high fives instead." Jay adds. "Agreed." Zane says. We all laugh as we calm together. I slowly stop laughing but my gentle doesn't fade. "Is that a joke?" I hear Zane question innocently.
I shake head and look around. People smiling, laughing happily. My team. My friends. My....family? I can't wait for what's next.
(Now onto season one. I can't wait to write the interactions between Lloyd and (Y/N)! See you then.)
