Akira P.O.V

When I was about to leave, I checked my mailbox and I saw a letter from my grandmother. I opened the envelope and read the letter

'I better let everyone know that I'm leaving the city for a few days' I thought to myself as I the letter in my pocket and started making my way to Pigsy's Noodle shop

Pigsy's Noodles

As I entered the shop, I was greeted by MK

"Akira!" MK wrapped his arms around my shoulders and hugged her

"Morning, Akira!" Mei joined in the hug, then she noticed paper rustling "Do you have a piece of paper or something?"

I nodded and pulled out the letter from my grandmother

"A letter?" Tang asked as he was eating a bowl of noodles. I handed him the letter, and everyone gathered around to see. Tang cleared his throat and started to read the letter out loud

Dear Akira,

How are things doing for you in the city? Your grandfather still believes it was a bad idea for you to move to the city, but I'll still support your decision.

Also, I wish for you to come back to the village, it looks like it's your turn to perform the dance to keep the bad omens away in our village. The festival will begin in tomorrow, I suggest you leave right away.

We'll be waiting for you back at home

After Tang read the letter, everyone looked at me

"What kind of festival is your grandmother talking about?" Tang asked

"I'm not sure. My grandparents never told me about it. All I know is that the festival is to keep the bad omens away" I said

"What about your parents?" MK asked

"I don't know. My grandparents told me they died when I was just a baby, so I never knew them" I said

"MK!" Mei hit his shoulder

"Ow! Sorry, Akira, I didn't know" MK apologized

"It's fine. Technically you guys didn't either because I never told you or you never asked" I said

"So... When are you leaving?" Mei asked

"After talking to you guys, I'll be leaving today" I said

Then silence enveloped the room

"Well... What are we waiting for?" Mei said, making me confused

"Looks like the shop will be closed for a while" Pigsy took off his apron and chef's hat

"I better start packing" MK went upstairs

"I should pack a couple of books and notebooks" Tang said

"Oh yeah! We should ask Sandy if he can take us!" Mei pulled out her phone and started calling Sandy

"What are you...?" Before I could ask

"Isn't it obvious? We're coming with you!" Mei said before she started talking on the phone

"Huh?" I looked at them with a confused look, and I heard the sound of a car's horn

"Hey, gang! Who's ready for the trip?" Sandy asked as he drove up to the shop with a van, and Mo was wearing a pair of sunglasses which are cat size

"You guys..."

"Listen Akira, we want to see your home, and learn more about you and your family" MK said as he came back from upstairs with two bags in his hands

"I wish to learn more about the festival. It caught my curiosity" Tang said

"Sigh... Alright" I gave in, and everyone cheered

When we got all of our luggage in the car, we all got into the van and Sandy drove off

No One P.O.V

As the group left, a bull clone, who was hiding in the shadows rushed back to tell Red Son. While a bird with golden eyes started to follow the van, and another bird with dark feathers melted into the shadows and followed the group to their destination

In the van, MK was drawing, Mei was on her phone, Tang was reading, and Akira was looking out the window. While Akira was enjoying the view outside, MK was staring at Akira with his cheeks turning pink

"Ooo~" MK quickly turned to see Mei taking a photo "Someone is in love~"

MK's face turned bright red and shushed Mei

"Be quiet! What if she heard you?" MK whispered shouted; Akira turned her head to see what's going on, only to see MK trying to act normal while covering Mei's mouth. Akira lifted up her eyebrow in confusion, but she turned her gaze back to the window

MK removed his hand from Mei's mouth, who had a huge grin on her face

"What's with the grin, Mei?" MK asked

"You... Like... Akira~" Mei said, making MK"s face turn red

"W-What?! W-What gave you t-that i-idea?" MK stuttered

Well~ For one thing, you keep staring at Akira, you got super jealous when Red boy talked about his engagement with Akira, and you even look very happy when your around her too" Mei listed

MK didn't say anything, he sat on the floor with a very red look on his face with steam coming out

"Okay, I admit it. I do have a crush on Akira" MK confessed, and Mei started squealing "B-But! I need you to not tell Akira. Please, Mei?"

Mei zipped her lips, promising MK

The drive to Akira's village was quite the long one. It was already dark outside, everyone went to sleep, and Pigsy volunteered to drive since he wanted Sandy to get some rest. Pigsy followed the directions that Akira gave Sandy, the directions helped Pigsy understand on where to go

After driving for some time, the sun started to rise up, Pigsy pulled over and went to wake up Sandy. When Sandy woke up from his sleep, he went back to the wheel and started to drive. Pigsy sat in the front seat, and fell asleep

Once everyone started to wake up from their slumber, Akira perked up and looked outside

"We're here!" Akira said, and everyone looked out the window and saw a village coming into view "Sandy, please park the van by the entrance. The road inside the village isn't very big"

Sandy did as he was told and parked the van by the entrance. Everyone grabbed their luggage, and they started walking. Everyone was admiring the scenery of the village

"Wow, Akira. Your village is beautiful!" Mei said as she and Sandy both took pictures of the village

"Indeed. Very peaceful too" Tang said as everyone nodded in agreement

As they walked along the path, the stopped a few inches in front of a big house

"Woah. Akira, is this your house?" MK asked and Akira nodded. They started to walk towards the house, when suddenly an old man came out with an angry look

"Who are you people!? You better leave at once!" The old man yelled

"Grandfather" The old man looked at Akira and gave her a warm smile

"Akira, it's good to see you, my sweet granddaughter" The old man said as he and Akira hugged each other, but he still glared at MK and the others. He was about to yell at them again, but an old woman came out from the house

"Sweetie! Stop yelling at them! They must be friends of Akira" The old woman said as the Akira's grandfather went back inside the house. The old woman turned to look at Akira's friends with a apologetic look "I'm sorry, darlings. My husband is like that ever since... Sigh. Please come inside, I just made breakfast enough for everyone, including young man that's hiding behind the bush" The grandmother pointed out, everyone looked at the bush with a confused look on their faces, and Red Son appeared

"Red Son! What are you doing here!?" MK shouted as he pulled out the staff and everyone went into defensive position

"I'm not here to fight. I'm just here to pay my respects" Red Son said

But everyone is still planning to keep their guard up, once everyone got inside the house, Akira showed her friends and Red Son to their rooms during their stay. Once everyone put their luggage down, Akira showed them the way to the dining room area. When they got to the dining area, Akira's grandmother was setting up the plates

"Grandmother, let me help you with that" Akira said as she started to help her grandmother

"Thank you, sweetie" Akira's grandmother said with a soft smile

After getting the plates and the food set up, everyone took their seats

"Akira, can you be a dear and get your grandfather? He should be in his studies" Akira's grandmother asked, Akira nodded as she started to head towards her grandfather's study room

"Tell me something, dearies, how is Akira doing in the city?" Akira's grandmother asked

"She looked like she's having fun so far, even helped us too" Mei said and trying not to spill the beans about how the city was almost destroyed

"That's good. I'm happy that my granddaughter is enjoying her life" Akira's grandmother said as she placed cups with tea

"Allow me to help you ma'am" Sandy said as he helped with the tea

While waiting, MK looked around and noticed a picture frame of a man and woman

"Excuse me, ma'am, who's the couple in the picture?" MK asked

"Oh. They're Akira's mother and father" The grandmother said as she picked up the photo frame

"This photo was taken on their wedding day. My husband and I were so happy for them" Then her smile turned into a frown "We were so sad about their passing; Akira was just born as well. But we did our best to give her the love and affection in her parents' stead, and we're so proud that she became such a beautiful and strong young lady"

"Grandmother, I brought grandfather for breakfast" Akira said as she slid open the door to reveal both Akira and her grandfather. Akira helped guide her grandfather to his seat

"Thank you, Akira" Her grandfather thanked her as Akira went to her seat. With everyone present, they started to eat the breakfast

While eating breakfast, Red Son noticed Akira's grandfather glaring at him, making him flinch and feeling nervous

"You, boy" Akira's grandfather looked at Red Son with a scorn look

"Y-Yes..." Red Son said nervously

"I wish to speak to you after breakfast, so follow me when your finish" Akira's grandfather said as he returned to eating his breakfast

Red Son P.O.V After Breakfast

After finishing breakfast that my beloved's grandmother made, I followed the grandfather

'Akira's grandfather wants to speak to me!? I'm literally freaking out! What is it that he wants to speak to me about!?' My thoughts were a spiraling mess

"Hey, boy" My beloved's grandfather snapped me out of my thoughts and soon realized we were in his studies

"Y-Yes!"

"Sit" I did as I was told

We both sat down, and we didn't talk for a while

'What should I even say?' I thought to myself nervously, and the grandfather finally spoke

"What is the son of the Demon Bull family doing here? I already hate your guts because I know you wish for my blessing to marry my granddaughter" The grandfather said

'How does he know!?' I thought

"W-Well... Um..." I have no idea what to say, and the grandfather sighed

"Let's get straight to the point. Have you ever heard of the Samadhi Fire?" The grandfather asked

I looked at him with a shocked look

"Yes, I know everything about it. But may I ask why?" I asked and Akira's grandfather gave me a very serious look

"Let me tell you something. What if the Samadhi Fire was never made but that dangerous power belonged to someone..." Akira's grandfather said as he walked towards a covered picture "It's been so long, I never seen my son because of the war in order to protect our village. He died protecting our home, and... a demon woman was the one who stopped the war"

"A demon?"

"You see, my son met a young demon woman, but her heart was full of hate and wanted to destroy everything. So, my son took it upon himself to help the demon woman heal her heart. After some time, the demon woman's heart started to heal and eventually fell in love with my son. She decided to not to destroy the universe we are living in. Our son brought her to our home, we accepted the marriage between the two. After some years, the demon woman gave birth to her first child... A daughter"

I was left speechless

"Wait... Are you saying...?" The grandfather removed the cloth from the picture to reveal the demon woman

"My son married the Demon of the Samadhi Fire, and my granddaughter is the daughter of the demon" The grandfather said, leaving me shocked and I even heard a bird squawked

'Did I hear a bird just now?'

"My daughter in law was in despair when she lost the love of her life... In order to end the war, she used all of her power, even though she ended the war, but it also cost her life..." The grandfather looked at another picture, a picture of my beloved when she was a little girl "Akira... she's our pride and joy... It greatly saddens me knowing that my son and daughter in law can no longer watch their young one grow-up into a beautiful young woman. But I fear Akira's destiny is to become the next Demon of the Samadhi Fire. So, I ask of you, please keep this a secret from her until the time has come, I don't want to lose my granddaughter" The grandfather said as he left me alone in his studies

'My beloved is a half demon?' I clenched my hand into a fist on the thought 'I better do whatever it takes to help her'

Akira P.O.V

After helping my grandmother with washing the dishes, I heard a knock on the door. I went to see who it was, and it was my childhood friend Haruto

"Hey, Akira! I heard that you came back to the village for the festival. Are you still doing the dance?" Haruto asked and I nodded "Also, it looks like I'm your dance partner for the dance" Haruto said as he scratched the back of his neck

"Yeah. My grandmother has gotten the dress ready" I said

"Cool. Well, I'll see you at village square" Haruto said as he left

'I should start getting ready' I thought as I went to my room to change

After I finished changing, I heard Tang talking to my grandmother

"Excuse me, ma'am? What's this book?" I heard Tang ask, I slid open the door a little bit, and I saw a unique looking book

"That book belonged to my daughter in law, but I have no idea about the contents" My grandmother said, and Tang took an interest

"Grandmother, I finished changing" I said

"You look beautiful" My grandmother said with a soft smile

"Mr. Tang! You should totally check out the village decorations! They look-!" MK came rushing in but stood still when he saw me "Uh...." MK looked at me with a dumbfounded look

"MK?" I carefully touched his shoulder and he jolted

"S-Sorry! I was just stunned by your beauty" MK said and quickly covered his mouth

"Oh, thank you. This is for the dance for the festival" I said

"Your gonna dance!?" Mei asked as she came rushing inside the house

"Yes. It's the festival's tradition" I said

"Akira, you better start going to the village square. It's almost time" My grandmother said and I left the house

Village Square

I was in the dressing room, double-checking on my appearance, making sure nothing is out of place. Then, I heard one of the village elders calling me

"Miss. Akira, it's time"

I walked out of the dressing room, and bowed to the elders as I made my way to the stage, and I saw Haruto on stage too

"I wanted to surprise you, so I'm your dance partner this year" Haruto said with his cheeks tinted pink

"I see. I look forward to dancing with you" I said and the music started playing

After the dance, the villagers started applauding at the performance

"Wow! That was amazing!" Mei said as she recorded the dance

"My beloved danced to beautifully" Red Son said with a lovestruck look

"Yeah" MK said with the same lovestruck look as Red Son

Pigsy, Sandy and Tang were clapping, but suddenly Tang dropped the book from his hands, and before the book it hit the ground, the book opened and a portal appeared

"What the?!"

"Tang! What did you do?!"

"I-I didn't do anything!"

"Uh... Guys...?"

Then, we were lifted up into the air, and we were sucked into the portal, and we blacked out

No One P.O.V

Everyone was laying on the ground unconscious, then the bird was the first one to wake up

"Ugh... That was one crazy ride" Then the bird changed forms, revealing to be the Monkey King. He noticed MK, who is still unconscious "Kid! Hey, kid, wake up!" Monkey King carefully shook MK to wake up

"Ugh... What happened...?" MK asked, once MK fully woke up, he quickly noticed that Monkey King is actually with him "M-M-Monkey King!? What are you doing here?!"

"Uh... I actually followed you guys" Monkey King admitted

Then, they both heard more groans

"Guys! You're okay!" MK rushed over

"Barely. But where actually are we?" Mei asked

"To be honest, I have no idea. I never seen this area before" Red Son said

"Look! There's a village!" Tang pointed

"And a sign too!" Mei added

"Jamanakai Village? I never heard of it" Akira said

"Me either" Monkey King said, freaking everyone out

"M-Monkey King?!" Everyone shouted

"Sup" Monkey King said

"M-M-Monkey King! I-I-I'm a huge fan!" Tang said

"Shouldn't we start asking around? We still have no idea where we are" Sandy said as he petted Mo, and everyone agreed to check out the village for some answers
