Sleep Bug
(chapter is shorter than usual due to Jiang falling victim to the villain's schemes)
Jiang gave a small sigh as she watched Wukong dart around to collect things to put in an open suitcase. She was rather, disappointed, that he was leaving. Perhaps more disappointed than a friend should be.
"What do you mean, vacation?" MK asked. Jiang's phone went off and she pulled it out to check it. Turns out it was just a new game called Sleep Bug.
Putting her phone away, she looked back at Wukong. "Aw, come on guys. I promised myself that once I found a successor, or in this case successors, that I would go see some friends, take a tour of my old stomping grounds, just cut loose, y'know" Wukong said as he tossed some stuff into his suitcase without looking. "Oo, gonna need these" he said putting in some sunglasses, which made Jiang snort with laughter in spite of herself.
"B-but, you can't leave! What if someone attacks the city?!" He said before gasping. "What if the Spider Queen comes back?!" He cried. "Ah, you and Jiang'll figure it out. It's adorable how nervous you are" Wukong said before closing his suitcase.
"But don't be. You both have come a long way. And you know, the next step of your journey, you must do alone" he said. "Alone?!" MK cried. "Dude, your acting like I'm not going to be here" Jiang said, putting a hand on her hip.
"Cause you aren't! Your heading out of the city, remember?!" MK told her, pointing an accusing finger at her. "For a day. I'll be back early morning tomorrow, MK. Besides, you know how important this art convention is to me" Jiang told him. "Besides, I'll be checking in, give you some training tools, review old lessons. Ah, we'll figure it out. You'll do great! Don't worry" Wukong said as he hopped onto his cloud.
"Monkey King out!" He cried before disappearing. "Great, just leave! At least my friends wouldn't abandon me!" MK called. Jiang facepalmed.
Later on, she pulled out her phone as she walked along the sidewalk. She had gone shopping, but since everyone was asleep, which greatly concerned her to no end, she placed down some bills and left. Now, the game called Sleep Bug came back to her phone, and seeing how she had nothing better to do, she downloaded it.
After getting back to her apartment and putting everything away, she went around, cleaning and organizing what needed to be cleaned and organized. She finally folded the last piece of laundry she had, then she put it away. Finally flopping against her bed and pulling her hair sticks out.
One now had an accessory. The bird feather Jiang had caught after Wukong left in his bird form on New Years had been carefully attached to the stick, now providing an extra pop of color in her dark brown hair. She already had more than one person compliment it.
Now, she pulled out her phone, opened the recently downloaded app, and began playing. The graphics weren't the best, but it was still pretty good. Soon enough, Jiang began to feel tired, and the feeling increased the longer she played.
After a bit, Jiang's eyes closed, and one hand hung limp off of the bed while the other, with the phone in hand, found it's resting spot on her stomach. She had a few good dreams, and then, she eventually woke up. Stretching a bit, Jiang looked at her phone, and was slightly surprised to see that it had been deleted.
Not to mention the numerous missed calls and texts that she had received from MK. "Well shit" she said. After getting her hair up and tying her jacket around her waist, Jiang went outside of her apartment complex, and saw that everyone else had also begun to wake up.
After a little while, she went off to the shop. "MK, buddy. What's with all the calls and texts?" Jiang asked, holding up her phone for emphasis before stopping in her footsteps. "And even though I was all alone, and I had been completely abandoned by everyone, I used my brain and saved the whole city. I did great, and there were no negative consequences at all" MK said.
Right in front of him, Pigsy was swathed in bandages, Tang was holding a fan, Mei was holding Pigsy's arm, and all three of them were glaring at MK. And judging from the sound of it, Pigsy's mouth had been bolted shut, which told Jiang that he had a broken jaw. "Oh, Jiang! Didn't see you there. You missed a lot of what happened today" MK said.
Jiang took in the scene in front of her, opened her mouth to say something, then decided against it and closed her mouth. "You know what, I'm heading out. Looks like the shop won't be open today..." Jiang trailed off as her phone began vibrating. Non-stop.
"...and my other friends are blowing up my phone. Well, see ya! And MK? Wouldn't want to be ya" she said before quickly turning around and walking out. She really needed a drink.
