Revenge of The Spider Queen
"You know, I must say. This, is a lot easier than all your other training sessions. I've barely broken a sweat" Jiang said as she blocked one of Wukong's kicks with the staff. Today, it was her turn to actually fight while MK sat off to the side. "A battle is no place to be arrogant Jiang. You gotta stay humble" Wukong told her before flipping off the staff.
"Ohoho, aren't you one to talk?" Jiang asked as she jumped and tried to slam the staff down. Wukong jumped backwards, and she was pleased to see that her strategy was working. She planned to corner the guy in the edge of the cliff that wasn't too far away.
And that's exactly what happened. Wukong looked just the slightest but surprised, but it was enough to make Jiang laugh a little. "You got this Jiang!" MK cheered from the sidelines.
"Oh I know" Jiang replied before she jumped up with the intention of hitting Wukong. She blanched a bit at the sight of Wukong's smirk. Then he jumped and firmly set his foot against his end of the staff.
"Your sure about that?" He asked before giving a hard kick, which flung the staff into the rock behind her. The pieces that were dislodged landed on the girl, making MK wince and panic a bit. "...Ow" Jiang's muffled and slightly frustrated voice came from the rocks, which calmed MK down for some reason
Jiang let out a slightly frustrated groan. She had been so close! She should've payed more attention to her surroundings.
"Okay, class commensing" she heard Wukong's voice say before feeling his tail wrap around her waist. He pulled her out and set her in her feet. "How'd I win?" He asked, and MK raised his hand a bit.
"Yes MK?" Wukong asked. "You buried her under a rock slide" MK said. "Yes, but, why were you standing in the way of a rock slide?" Wukong asked Jiang this time.
"Cause you put me there!" Jiang cried before Wukong ruffled her hair. "Nononono. I got you where I wanted you, by putting you where you wanted me. It's called, misdirection" Wukong said as Jiang fixed her hair, putting her hair sticks back up in her hair. "Seems like a shady lesson" MK stated.
"Too soon buddy" Wukong told him. MK groaned as he fell back. "We're never going to be as good as you, are we?" Jiang asked as she sat down to rub at her ankle, which had been pinned between two rocks.
"Tch, not with that attitude. Class dismissed!" Wukong told them. MK jumped up. "Yes! Jiang, we better hit it. We were supposed to meet Mei and the others for-" MK was cut off by a pillow hitting his face.
Jiang looked over to see Wukong making all sorts of things. "Whoa. How long have you been preparing this?" MK asked. "Come on. It's New Years kiddos. Let's watch the fireworks." Wukong said, patting the spaces next to him.
Jiang smiled a bit and started walking towards him, before MK grabbed her wrist. "What about our friends?" He asked. "I think they'll be able to handle one New Years day without us. Besides, Wukong's been living here , essentially alone, for a long time now. Don't get me wrong MK, I love hanging out with our friends, but, wouldn't it be a little more meaningful to spend the day with someone who's never had any company for it?" Jiang said.
MK thought for a couple seconds, then let go of Jiang's wrist with a sigh. He joined his sister as she walked over, and sat down beside Wukong, who gave them a smile, which Jiang returned. She saw something flash in Wukong's eyes, but it disappeared as soon as it came.
"So, anybody have any new years resolutions?" He asked, pulling a container of food towards himself. "Oh hell no. I gave up on those ten years ago" Jiang said. "How come?" MK asked her, biting into a dumpling.
"I could never get around to completing my resolutions" Jiang told him, making him and Wukong chuckle. It was funny, because it was very relatable. "Well, what about you guys? And resolutions to make or complete?" She asked, taking up some sweet treats.
"I guess I could be more helpful around the shop" MK said in a thoughtful tone. "More helpful than you already are? Keep that up and you'll be cutting into your sleep schedule" Jiang said. "What sleep schedule?" Wukong asked, making everyone laugh.
"Besides, Jiang, you can't talk with how wacked up yours is" MK said as he grabbed a pot sticker. "Oi! Leave my sleep schedule out of this!" Jiang said, pointing a half eaten dumpling at him before finishing it off. Then she pulled her phone out and took a picture of the sunset in its final minutes.
"And another great picture to add to the collage" she said. "Collage?" Wukong asked. "She's working on a big, super secret project that I'm apparently not supposed to know about" MK said.
"Yeah, and after DBK's last attack, I had to start it all over again. I plan to take first place in this year's art competition. So don't you dare even think about touching it" Jiang said, aiming the last few words at MK. Wukong chuckled a bit. "Your sibling dynamics never fail to confuse me. One moment you two are getting along like your the best buds in the world, and the next you two are at each other's throats. How do you do it?" he said then asked.
"Trust me, Wukong. We've been asking ourselves that for the past two years" Jiang said, getting her hands on another container of sweets. After another fifteen minutes of talking and laughing, the sky got dark, and there were a few flashes of light that were shooting up into the sky. Then, a second later, the sky lit up with all the different colors of the joy bringing explosives.
"Happy New Years!" Wukong, Jiang, and MK all chorused. "Fireworks! Over a millennia, and fireworks are still the best thing humans have invented" Wukong said happily. He plucked off some of his hair, and it turned into food.
"Uh, am I eating hair right now?" MK asked. "It's best to not think about it" Wukong told him as Jiang accepted the pieces of sushi he offered her. "Besides, if it tastes good, then it's edible" she said, assuming an amused look on her face as she saw MK grimace at what he still had in his hand.
"Hey, what happened tone fireworks?" She asked. The sky was no longer being lit up with the beautiful colors and explosive sounds. Jiang made the gold vision come by, and she zeroed in on the city.
Then, she saw a very large towering spider mech walking through. "Oh no. The city!" She and MK chorused. "The fireworks!" Wukong cried.
Both Jiang and MK gave him deadpan looks. "Oh, and people getting hurt, I guess" Wukong corrected. "I'll go take care of business" MK said, summoning the staff.
Jiang let out a yelp as Wukong pulled by her and MK onto his cloud. "What?!" MK cried. "Nobody messes with my New Years. Let's go!" Wukong snapped before he took off.
MK clung to Jiang's waist as she did her best to balance herself, though Wukong did help a bit by wrapping his prehensile tail around her upper arm. They got to the city in record time, and Jiang did not like what she saw. "Huh. Guess Spider Queen finally crawled out of her cess pit" Wukong stated.
People down below were not acting right, and their eyes were glowing green. Those who's eyes weren't glowing green were running around in fear and terror, and then there were the people who were standing still, either too terrified or in shock to move, or simply because reality hadn't hit them yet. MK suddenly going crazy brought her attention to him.
"Whoa, MK! Jeez, what're you doing man?!" She cried. He seemed terrified, and when things started getting out of hand, Wukong guided the cloud down, and Jiang dropped MK off onto the ground below. "Wait, where are you guys-?" MK started to say before being cut off by Wukong's sigh.
"If you can't handle one little spider, how're you supposed to help me with that?" He asked, glancing over at Spider Queen's walking fortress. "MK, you have the staff. Go find the others and work on finding an antidote. People out there have already been corrupted" Jiang told him. "Me and Jiang will handle the fighting but on this one bud" Wukong said before he took off again.
"Is he always like that?" Wukong asked. "With spiders, yes. He's absolutely terrified of them. And my first encounter with the Spider Queen didn't help me out either. But, I'll be fine" Jiang told him. Giving her a slightly skeptical look, Wukong looked ahead again, and made his way over to the moving fortress.
Both of them landed on the thing. "Oh, Monkey King. And Jiang? Well, isn't this a nice surprise. Finally come out of hiding just to see me?" Spider Queen said. "Didn't know you were so desperate for attention, Spider Princess" Wukong said.
Okay, note to self. When this is all over, ask for lesson on sass, Jiang thought. "It's Spider Queen! Sub-human!" The Spider Queen snapped. "Whatever" Wukong said as Jiang rolled her eyes.
"Thought I'd have to deal with the kids, well, the other kid, before I got to you. But, since the both of you are here, I can destroy the both of you first" Spider Queen said before she managed to blow out all of the candles that had been glowing with a green flame. Then, she launched herself at Jiang and Wukong, who both quickly retaliated. The two jumped off to the sides.
Jiang hopped up and kicked the spider demon in the face before backflipping off of her. The Spider Queen attempted to stomp on her, but Jiang ran behind Wukong, who now jumped backwards to avoid the hit. Then, he seized the spider demon's leg, spun her around, and then threw her up into the air.
The Spider Queen landed on a thick pillar, then crawled up into the shadows, where she was out of sight. "Give it up princess. Your too easy to read" Wukong said as he and Jiang stood back to back with a little bit of distance between them, both ready to fight at a moment's notice. Jiang heard a sound that almost sounded like echoing whispers and turned around.
Looks like Wukong heard it too, because he took off in the direction the whispers came from. Jiang moved to follow him, but stopped about fifteen feet away when she heard him hit the wall. Suddenly, he quickly jumped back, landing where she was.
Then, surprisingly, he took on a protective stance, keeping her back. Moving her head a bit, Jiang spotted a woman who was in front of the wall. She had black hair, and wire a simple white and blue dress.
There was also a crater in the wall beside her head. The woman looked up, and her dark blue eyes locked on Jiang's lighter ocean teal eyes. Jiang felt a shiver go up her spine, and for some reason, the woman felt, familiar, like they had met before.
Though Jiang was sure she had never seen this woman until now. Hearing something from behind her, Jiang looked over her shoulder. "Wukong, look out!" She cried as she jumped out of the way.
But, Wukong didn't move fast enough, and his body was trapped in the webs. "Oh no, a web!" Wukong said in a high pitched voice before continuing with his normal tone. "You seriously think this can keep me-" he said before breaking off in a pained yell as electricity sparked over the webbing.
"What is this?!" He cried in a pained tone of voice. "Finally, after all these years, your mine" The Spider Queen said. "And you can bet that I haven't forgotten about the kid" she added as she turned to face Jiang.
The girl turned to make a break for it, but the strange woman from before quickly appeared in front of her, making Jiang slide to a stop and take a couple steps back. Cold dark blue eyes peered into somewhat terrified teal ones. Feeling something connect with the back of her foot, Jiang looked around in time to see webbing before she was yanked backwards and swung around.
She heard Wukong yell out "Kid!" Before the back of her head collided with a pillar, and darkness took over her vision. Slowly coming to, Jiang opened her eyes, then winced and let out a soft groan. When she discovered that she couldn't move her hand, she looked herself over, and discovered that she was now trapped in a cucoon of spider silk.
"Jiang?" Someone asked. Looking over, she discovered Wukong, who was looking at her with concern present in his golden eyes. He was also in his own little cucoon.
"Are you alright?" He asked once he saw that she was responsive, keeping his voice on the low side. "Just a raging headache, that's all. How long was I out?" Jiang replied in the same volume. "Not too long. Also, you do realize your upside down, right?" Wukong told her.
"I thought this place was looking a little weird" Jiang muttered, making Wukong chuckle a bit. "So, I'm guessing we're inside the mech?" Jiang asked. "Yup, and we're all being used to power it. Apparently" Wukong stated.
"...Damn it. I hope MK's doing all right" Jiang said. "I'm sure he's fine" Wukong reassured her. Then, DBK's voice echoed around the place.
"What? What is this?! Who dares?!" He roared. Jiang winced a bit. At the moment, she was a little sensitive to noise, and DBK was definitely not helping with her headache.
Then, she spotted Spider Queen dropping down from the ceiling, giggling a little as she went. "Why me of course" she said, hanging in front of DBK, who growled. "I have truly fallen if one such as you can best me, the would be Queen of spider" he said, smirking a little towards the end.
"Ain't nothin 'would be' about it. I am the Spider Queen" the Spider Queen said as she dropped right side up to the floor. She pointed at DBK. "And you? Nothin but a battery for my mech. Look around handsome. Your not the only prize I snapped up. Everyone one of them is just dying to give me their power" She said.
Huh, no wonder Jiang felt so tired and drained of energy as she looked around at all of the other prisoners, each in their own cucoon of webbing. "Princess Iron Fan?!" DBK cried, looking around. His voice brought Jiang's attention back down below.
"Aw, don't worry. Haven't found your wifey" Spider Queen told him. "Yet" she added, her voice tinted with malice. "I did manage to drag down an old friend, and an acquaintance of yours" she said, forcing DBK to look over at Jiang and Wukong.
"Sup Bull King?" Wukong greeted, speaking for himself and Jiang. "You too huh?" She called. "Monkey King! Little thief!" DBK snapped as he struggled against his restraints.
Everyone's attention was caught by two newcomers. "My Queen, I have news regarding Red So-" one of the said before being interrupted by the other. "My Queen, I have news regarding Red Son" he said, his voice far more raspier than the first.
"Useless offspring" DBK growled. "Mmm-hmm. Go on" Spider Queen said. "He actually, uh, got away" said the second newcomer.
Spider Queen did not look happy. Meanwhile, "I didn't doubt him for a second. You will never catch him!" DBK cried before laughing. Over his laughter, Jiang just barely heard Spider Queen give the order to find Red Son, and even though he may have been her enemy, Jiang hoped he would be able to stay away.
The two newcomers left, and the strange woman from before came out of the shadows. "My Queen, what of the Monkey King's second protege? Perhaps he should join his master and sister" she said. Jiang felt anger flood through her, and she knew Wukong felt the same when she heard him growl a bit.
"Yeah, and the boy too! I can't have these problematic children running around causing me problems!" Spider Queen snapped a bit. Jiang struggled against the webbing that restrained her, but at the moment, she was simply just too weak to break them by brute force. "If she hurts one hair on my brother, I swear I'm going to kill her" she hissed, swinging back and forth a bit from her futile efforts.
"You and me both kid" Wukong said. Down below, one of the targets, who happened to be Red Son, was found. "Target acquired" said the first newcomer.
Jiang, in a couple seconds, figured out that his name was Syntax. Anyway, Syntax fired a few missiles at Red Sin, who escaped all but one. Then, about a minute later, the second newcomer's raspy voice came over the comm-link.
"We found the Monkey King's second apprentice. Exactly where you said he'd be" he said. "Oh no" Wukong said, wide eyed. "MK" Jiang breathed, terrified for her brother.
However, based off of the sounds that followed the announcement, Jiang concluded that MK got away, which was confirmed by the lakies. Spider Queen stamped one of her legs in frustration. "Haha! That's my little brother for you!" Jiang cheered as Wukong smiled a bit.
"Oh shut it you!" Spider Queen snapped at her. "Why should I? Annoying you is rather fun, seeing how there's nothing else around here to entertain myself with" Jiang said. Spider Queen growled at her, and Wukong smiled.
He was definitely starting to rub off on Jiang. A little while later, after everyone had left, he too began the annoyance act, on someone different. "What do you think big guy? Enjoying the party?" He said.
"She never would have subdued me, had you not given her the power she needed!" DBK snapped at him. "Or, it's just that she captured me and my student here first! Cause I'm her favorite-" Wukong said before everyone let out their own cries and grunts of pain as their energy and power were sucked out a bit, getting lightly electrocuted in return. Jiang squeezed her eyes shut as tears pricked at the corners of them, threatening to spill.
With how tight the restraints were, she couldn't even move to grab at the knife she also kept in her back pocket, so she was stuck there, forced to go through this torture in her exhausted and sleep deprived state. She couldn't stop the tears as the electrocution gained intensity, and her body attempted to curl in on itself, but the restraints put an end to that.
Hell, she barely even heard the door opening, some people talking, and the door closing again. Finally, the torment ended, and Jiang let her body go limp, breathing hard as the pain slowly dulled. "Jiang?" She heard Wukong say.
His voice was a bit raspy, and from the sound of it, his breathing was labored. "Y-y-yeah?" Jiang shakily asked, not opening her eyes. She wanted to wait until the pain faded away to do anything.
"You okay?"
"Ask me again in ten minutes, then I'll tell you"
"..."
"Gods, I'm tired. These people keep coming in every thirty minutes, so that leaves me with twenty to twenty-five minutes for a quick nap" Jiang murmured. "Jiang, open your eyes, and look at me" Wukong said in a stern tone. Jiang did what he said, though she did hesitate.
"Look, I know it's late, and it's hard to endure all of this without falling asleep, but you have to stay awake, alert, and active" said Wukong. "Kinda hard to do all that when your being electrocuted every thirty minutes without being able to move" Jiang told him. "So, then we can find something to talk about. What are some things you do on the weekends, when your not training with me?" Wukong said.
"What's the point of this?" Jiang asked, raising an eyebrow. "Talking will keep us awake and at least active, if not alert. So answer the question" Wukong explained. "Ugh, fine. So demanding" Jiang said, which made Wukong smile in spite of himself.
At least Jiang's personality was still intact. "Well, on the days that me and MK aren't training with you, we sleep in. Well, as much as we can sleep in, considering working for Pigsy is an everyday job. But, during the shirts breaks that we do get, it's spent either talking to MK, hanging out with Mei, or messing around in my phone. Then after everything's said and done, I go up to the rooftop of my apartment complex and draw anything that I see" Jiang said, thinking through her weekends. Wukong remembered Jiang and MK talking about her secret art project, and seeing how she spent the hours after her shifts were over, bingo.
Wukong now had another conversation starter. "So, what do you draw?" He asked. "Well, anything really"
And that's how things went. Wukong would ask questions that he knew would have Jiang talking a lot, and he himself butted in to add a few comments every now and then. And when the electrocution spells happened, he would wait for a couple minutes or so before picking up the conversation where it left off.
Here and there though, Jiang would half to stop in order to catch her breath, and after the sixth electrical spell, she had had just about enough. She spotted DBK, who looked like he was straining a bit, and slightly shaking. "Hey, I might have an idea on how to get out of here" she muttered.
"Well, I'm all ears" Wukong said. "What if we get DBK ticked off enough that he's got the motivation to get out of his restraints, then he could free the rest of us" Jiang explained. Wukong looked thoughtful, and glanced at DBK.
"It's worth a shot. Follow my lead" he said before speaking up. "It's a shame really, you being trapped here" he said. "No one to protect poor little Princess Iron Fan" Jiang added, smiling a little when Wukong gave her an approving look.
"My wife doesn't need protecting! She will decimate all in her way! DBK snapped, pulling at his restraints as power, more power than the webs could handle, began to flow through them. "Oh yeah? How about your half-baked son?!" Jiang taunted. "Spider Queen's gonna eat him alive! All because you were too weak!" Wukong called.
And that did it. DBK's power that was currently fueled by his rage flowed through the webs, weakening them and making them break apart. "Ha! It worked!" Jiang cried as she felt her cucoon loosen and break.
"Excellent!" Wukong called before letting out a yelp as DBK grabbed him and slammed him down on the floor. "Buddy, I was just gettin' ya angry so you could-" Wukong hastily explained before DBK cut him off. "I know what you are doing simian!" He snapped before pulling off the webbing that still trapped Wukong, who perked up the second he was free.
Jiang managed to grab the knife in her pocket and work her arm up to the front, cutting off the rest of the webs. Though she didn't account for one thing. She was still upside down.
"Oh, shit!" She yelped as she fell. A few seconds before she hit the ground, someone caught her, bridal style. She looked up, and spotted Wukong's half smile half smirk look.
"Thanks Wukong" Jiang said, adverting her eyes. "Anytime kiddo" the Great Sage replied before he set her down, making sure she was steady in her feet. Jiang then saw DBK leaving.
"Hey, wait, where are you going?" She called. "To find my half baked, son!" DBK said before he busted through the wall, instantly emerging into the outside world. "I'll honestly miss that guy" Wukong said.
Jiang turned to face him. "Seriously? Even though you-" she cut herself off when she saw who was standing behind him, her eyes widening a bit. Wukong didn't even look himself, but seemed to know who it was.
He looked over his shoulder at the strange woman. "So, you thought you had all the pieces right where you wanted them" he said to her. "There are so many moves I've yet to play" the woman said in a hauntingly playful tone.
"You should've stayed buried" Wukong growled before he flung himself at the woman with the intent of punching her. However, the woman's black hair turned white, and she disappeared. Wukong stood where she stood, and streams of mist and blue floating orbs appeared, circling around him.
Jiang made to go towards him, but stopped when he held his hand up at her. "I will rip the memory of you from this world" the woman's voice said, echoing around the room. Then she appeared behind Wukong, who, for a few moments, looked a little terrified.
Then, he turned and tried to hit the woman, but she disappeared again, this time, leaving nothing but eerie blue colored mist that quickly faded away. Jiang waited for a few seconds before she spoke. "Wukong?" She said. Her voice seemed to startle the Great Sage a bit, but he faced her anyway.
"Who was that?" Jiang asked, looking in Wukong's eyes like she hoped she would find something. The Monkey King sighed. "Someone I hoped would never come back" he said.
And that was that. Jiang didn't press on the matter any further, and instead went over to the hole in the wall. The sun had risen by this point, and Jiang looked out over the rooftops of the city.
She turned back to look at Wukong, who gave her a questioning look. "What do you say we go and take the Spider Queen off her throne?" Jiang said, letting a light smirk take over her lips. Wukong returned the look, and the two jumped out of the spider mech.
They landed on Wukong's cloud, and they took off. Right on time too as the mech collapsed behind them. Barely paying it any attention, Jiang scanned the ground.
Soon enough, she spotted the Spider Queen, along with her brother, her friends, and Red Son and his father. "Wukong! Down there!" She called, pointing at the group below them. Wukong guided the cloud over to the rooftop, which he landed on.
Jiang hopped off to, then was absolutely shocked when the great sage began walking down the brick wall. Something to ask him about later. "All of you together can't beat me! I, am the queen!" Spider Queen said.
"Oh yeah?" Wukong called as he got to his staff. Making everyone look up. He got his staff, then jumped the rest of the way to the ground.
"Well I'm the king" he said, before tapping the wall with his staff. MK, who had been tied up a bit, was freed, and he landed beside Wukong. "Oh, but where's your precious second apprentice?" Spider Queen taunted him.
Jiang hopped down from where she was on the roof, and landed in a crouching position beside MK. "Right here. Wassup little brother?" She said with a smile. "Jiang!" MK cried, absolutely delighted to see that his sister was okay.
He had been terrified when she and the Monkey King were captured. Wukong then crouched down beside the two. "Turns out I'm not so good with spiders either" he said, holding out his staff.
MK grabbed on with a light smile, and Wukong pulled him up to his feet before letting go. Jiang took out her knife, and everyone glared at the Spider Queen. "I think you've been in your throne long enough!" Jiang called out.
The Spider Queen glared at her. "If I can't rule this world..." She said before retreating to her mech. "...no one can! I'll level this whole city!" She cried.
"Jiang?" MK asked, making her look over. "Together like always?" Her brother said. He and Wukong both had a hand on the staff.
"Tch. Eh, why not? There are probably a couple wires that I can cut up there" she said, pocketing the knife before holding on to the staff. The weapon extended, and the trio shot into the air. "Alright kiddos, it's now or never" Wukong told them.
"Right" MK agreed. "Here. Comes. Monkey!" Everyone chorused as they began to spin around. Then, Wukong let go, allowing MK and Jiang to fly up towards the weakened Spider Queen.
"Kids" he said with a proud smile. Thrusting the staff forward, Jiang and MK made contact with the mech, and the power that had been built up shot through it, destroying the mech. Jiang and MK high-fived each other, but the victories enthusiasm quickly disappeared as they began to free fall.
Jiang looked down at the quickly approaching ground. Then, an idea popped into her head. It would probably end in her falling to her death if she didn't succeed, but hey, birds weren't afraid of falling, now were they?
Doing her best to calm her racing heart, Jiang closed her eyes, and focused more on the weightlessness. The more she did that, the better she felt. She also began to feel, strange.
"Jiang, what are you doing? Your literally glowing!" MK's voice sounded like it was coming from far away. The strange feeling got stronger, then it stopped. Nothing but the wind ruffling her feathers...
Wait, feathers? Jiang opened her eyes, and being startled by how close the ground had gotten, she panicked, and began hovering in place, flapping her newfound wings. I... I did it. I actually did it! She thought.
Oh wait, MK didn't change. He was still plummetting towards his death. Folding her wings in and leaning forward, Jiang rocketed towards her brother, getting ready to stretch out her talons.
Before she could, another eagle shot down, going faster than she was. Jiang was so surprised that she had to pull out of the dive in order to stabilize herself. She already had her guesses as to who the second eagle was.
Looking on from above, Jiang watched as DBK caught both Wukong and MK before he slid to a stop. Then, the spider mech exploded. Diving down, Jiang landed on one of DBK's horns unnoticed, (thankfully he didn't try to shake her off) and then took in the spectacle that was happening in the sky.
Beautiful strips of colors seemed to glow against the clouds. Wukong transformed back to his normal self and pointed at them. "Ha! Now those are New Years fireworks!" He cried.
Jiang quietly laughed, but it came out as a few, soft, bird like chirps, which she didn't fully mind. Later on, she was back in her human form, sitting up on a ledge with MK and Wukong, admiring the phenomenon in the sky. "We should really get better at not smooshing the city" MK said.
"Eh, priorities" Wukong said, making everyone laugh. "You guys did really good today" he said. "Are you guys okay? After..." MK asked.
Jiang knew what he was referring to. "It's fine bud. Still with" Wukong told him. "In short, we'll be fine. We are dead, so, that's a win, right?" Jiang added.
"Also, you guys wanna tell your friends to take it down a bit?" Wukong said, looking back at the group behind them. Tang looked like he was hyperventilating. "Monkey King?! I'm your biggest fan!" He cried.
"Rivaled by my brother" Jiang said, giving her brother a knowing look. Then, while everyone was distracted by Mei and Red Son, Jiang watched as Monkey King transformed some hair into food and wrote a note with it. Then he stood up.
"See you around" Jiang whispered to him. "Yeah. Maybe meet you up in the sky" Wukong replied, giving her a wink. Then, he transformed and took off, leaving behind a beautiful feather that Jiang caught.
She turned it over in her hands before watching it's owner fly away. "Happy New Years Wukong" she said before gently tucking the feather in with her hair sticks. Then, she laughed as she watched her friends eat the sweets in the basket Wukong left behind.
