Destiny Fulfilled

Jiang watched, anxiety building, as Wukong and MK got closer to each other, then the feeling gave way to relief when Macaque darted forward, pushing Wukong away from her brother and holding him back a bit. "Alright you two. I hope that staff was worth it!" He called, looking back at the two before he began to fight Wukong. Jiang quickly went over to MK and crouched down beside him

"Get that staff" she said. "What are you gonna do?" MK asked her. Jiang glanced over at LBD and her a death glare.

"I'll keep the Bone Bitch busy" she replied. "Trying to take on me in a one on one? Oh dear Jiang, you couldn't possibly-" LBD said, amusement laced in her voice, though she paused at the sight of the flames that covered both of Jiang's hands. "We'll see about that!" Jiang hollered before darting forward, fist drawn back in a punch as a battle cry left her throat.

Her speed had greatly increased to the point LBD barely had time to dodge, but, still, Jiang's fist landed on empty air. "Child, you cannot change the course of destiny!" LBD snapped at her. "I make my own destiny" Jiang replied before she continued fighting, throwing physical hits as well as magical attacks.

Her personal favorite became the one where she would create four balls of flames that would surround LBD, and continue to hit her from all angles, three times each, before they disappeared. In fact, Jiang was doing pretty good, until she glanced over to check on MK. She was shocked to see him struggling to pull on the staff that was rooted to the ground by the ice.

"No" she murmered. Then, she let out a sharp cry of surprise and slight pain as a hand closed on her throat and ice began to creep across her skin, leaving an unpleasant chill. "Oh you two, Sun Wukong couldn't best me. What do you hope to accomplish when he has failed? Cast aside your stubbornness and face your demise with honor" LBD lightly snapped as she began to lift the girl off her feet.

Jiang let out a soft breath as she saw Wukong hit the ground. And toss Macaque's body to the ground, stepping over him as the possessed Great Sage got closer. "If you really believe that destiny can't be changed, you wouldn't be using every ounce of power you have to keep him contained! The Monkey King we know will never stop fighting you!" MK called out.

"And we won't either. We won't give up, not even when we're down to our last breath" Jiang rasped. LBD's hand squeezed tighter, and Jiang began to struggle for air. Suddenly, Wukong shot forward, but, instead of hitting MK, his hand closed around the staff.

"Ergh, thanks for not, giving up on me guys" he managed to get out. And despite her current situation, Jiang couldn't help but let out a laugh of relief. Wukong was back.

"What?! No!" LBD cried. "Time for the hero stuff" the Monkey demon said to MK, who then also pit his hand on the staff. Together, they broke it free from its icy prison, and a golden shockwave appeared, knocking what appeared to be the outlines of LBD out of Wukong.

His skin color returned to normal, nothing was tinted blue, and the Pheonix feathers on his little cap had returned to their brilliant red. The shockwave also knocked LBD back, and she lost her grip on Jiang, who collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath. "Ugh, i can still feel her crawling under my skin, ugh!" Wukong called out, sounding a little disgusted.

Jiang did managed to look up in time to see MK tackle Wukong in a hug. Surprisingly, the Great Sage didn't lose his footing. "I'm glad your back" MK said happily, and Wukong gave him a soft genuine smile.

"Uh, guys? Now that Wukong's not under her control...!" Macaque told them, and a blast of cold wind made itself known. Jiang was on the verged of standing up, but she was knocked back, and that icy hand closed around her throat, squeezing hard than ever. Jiang struggled against the hold, trying to force air into her lungs as she was lifted up amid the cries of her friends.

"Predictably unpredictable fools! I'm not one to rush destiny, but I will not be stopped by a group of headstrong simians!" LBD snapped. She did something, and then, she pushed away her host. Jiang gasped at the sight of a young female child that couldn't have been older than ten or eleven.

Thankfully, Macaque shot forward, and caught the girl before she could hit the ground. "And I think I'll start with you" LBD's voice made Jiang face her, well, her true form again, and was met with the scene of her drawing her fist back as it was covered with icy spikes. Glancing over, Jiang saw the scared looks on MK's and Wukong's faces, and knew that, for one of them, this brought on terrible deja vu.

"You dont seem terrified" the bitch noted. "You don't scare me. Not anymore" Jiang spat. "Well, time to change that"

And with that, LBD slammed the spiked fist into Jiang's face, letting go at the same time. The mere force of the hit was enough to throw the girl backwards, and she hit the ground hard. Rolling and sliding to a stop, she shook her head slightly to get rid of the ringing noise.

Then, she became aware of a liquid sliding down her cheek in multiple places. That, combined with the sheer pain in her eye, told her that it probably wasn't tears. Placing a hand over her eye and pulling it back as she slowly stood up confirmed it.

Jiang kept that eye shut when she turned around, giving a hard glare at the Lady Bone Demon. "If the dragon girl won't give me the Samadhi Fire willingly, then I will rop it from her!" The demon snapped. A scream of pain echoed from within the Mech, and a burst of dark red flames pushed everyone off of it.

"Mei!" MK cried out as he free fell. They were all joined by Sandy, Tang, and Pigsy on the way down. How no one broke any bones on the harsh landing, Jiang would never know, even as she landed in a kneeling position herself. Then, she looked back, watching as Macaque gently set the little girl in his arms down.

"She's okay. She just needs some rest" she told him. Macaque nodded at her, then everyone looked up at the Bone Mech as it became powered by the Samadhi Fire. Then, two flaming swords made their appearance.

"You were right MK. If you and Jiang hadn't found that staff, none of this would have been possible. Delivery kids to the end" LBD told him. "Were you seriously monologing to yourself?" Jiang asked him. "Wasn't my best moment, okay?" MK replied before lightly holding the staff.

"Together? For old time's sake?" He asked. Jiang began walking forward. "You know it little brother" she said.

"Now watch as I fulfill my destiny, and begin this world anew! No Monkey King, no Monkey Kids, nothing!" LBD cried. MK and Jiang shared a small, determined smile as she held on to the staff. Then, together, they slammed it down into the ground.

And this time, their Mech was able to hold up against her's. Or maybe the wisps of flame that kept circle the Monkey Mech had something to do with its resilience. "No. No! I will not be stopped by low, insignificant proteges!" LBD cried out.

Jiang let out a soft grunt as she increased the amount of power she was using as she felt LBD press her blades down even more on the Mech. "Jiang?" She heard MK call out from his seat. "Keep going. I got this" came the reply.

"You would allow this world to continue to fester and rot?! The eternal misery of countless souls because of your sentimentality for mortal blizzards?!" LBD cried. "You can't judge things by their worst qualities!" MK called out. "We actually try to see the good in things!" Jiang added as she focused even more of her power.

"This world may not be perfect, but it's still worth fighting for!" Tang yelled. "Yeah! Sometimes it's that little bit of char that makes for a more flavorful meat! Even if it is a but tangy" Pigsy called. Mo meowed something, and Sandy agreed with him.

"You said it Mo. The world may be full of darkness. But to let the light shine, all we need to do is stand together!" He cried. "Whoa! Power level increase here!" Jiang called out. She wasn't really complaining though.

It did take some of the edge off of her. And then, things became tinted with a golden color as the outlines of their Mech expanded, creating a solid holograph that was still very much capable of going against LBD. "The perfect world is what you make it. Cause as long as I have my friends and family by my side, the world is perfect!" MK cried out as he made the large version of the Mech hold on to the flaming swords.

"A child's notion! I will not be insulted!" LBD snapped as she pressed back, and sweat began to form as Jiang did her best to keep up with the power. Then, suddenly, green fire burst through the glass, sweeping through the entire cockpit. "MK!" Jiang called out as her brother began to fall forward, though she was thankful when someone else caught him.

"Hey Monkey Man. Ya miss me?" Mei asked him. "Mei!" Both siblings chorused. "Yeah, I'm here too by the way" Red Son said.

Jiang let out a slightly strained laugh. "I would hug you right, but, uh" she said, glancing at the strips of gold, red, and orange light that was drifting from her hands and seeping into the Mech. The pressure had definitely been taken off when she was no longer going up against the Samadhi Fire.

But the multiple days of no sleep was definitely beginning to make itself known. "Ugh, I need just a bit more power here guys!" She called out, panting slightly at the effort it took to keep going with the amount of power she was letting off. Tang seemed to have heard her, cause a few moments later, Jiang felt another boost with the power level.

Then, somehow, everyone was in the cockpit except Wukong and Macaque. And then, they brought out the staff and made it absolutely gigantic. Nezah added his giant rings, which added a boost of speed to the Monkey Mech.

And Jiang added in just a bit more power, and the orange light ran across the staff, filling in the little grooves that were carved into it. "Here, comes, the Monkey-!" MK called out. "No! You will not take my destiny from me!" LBD cried as she put up a barrier.

Then, everyone outside the Mech took a hold of the staff. "-Kids!" Everyone chorused, and the added bit of force was enough to make the barrier shatter, allowing the staff to slam into the Lady Bone Demon and destroy the Mech. Jiang brought her hands up to her face to protect her good eye from the blinding light that came from the explosion.

And when she put her hands down, she looked around in surprise and shock. She and MK were in a white void, but the color at least wasn't blinding. "Save your hero speech you two" said a female voice from above them.

Looking back, Jiang and MK spotted LBD, though she looked, different, in a way. Her hair was just black, her skin wasn't white washed, and she now sported a flowing white gown that was moved by an unfelt wind. "I've existed long enough to know when its over" she said.

"Do you really still think that the universe wants anything from any of us?" MK asked her. "Don't you?" Came the reply. "We try to not really think about it a lot" Jiang told her.

"So it would seem" Then her voice came from behind the siblings, startling them into turning around. "Know this monkey and pheonix. You and I are not so different. We fight for what we think is right. But that pursuit only leads to one thing" LBD told them.

Jiang was slightly confused as the the Pheonix name, but went on "Mm-hm. To destiny, right?" MK asked. "No. To pain" the demon told them before she faded away.

"Well, that was, eerie" Jiang commented. MK hummed in agreement, then looked around as someone called out their names, sounding confused at first, then concerned and scared. "We should get back before our friends freak out" Jiang said with a light smile.

With a nod of agreement from MK, Jiang closed her eyes, and the echoing cries of her name got louder and more distinct. After a moment, Jiang let out a soft gasp and opened her eyes. Well, her good eye anyway.

"Aha! She lives" Macaque commented as he crouched down beside her, though anyone could see the relief in his eyes. "Welcome back Jiang. How're you feeling?" Wukong said. Jiang then became aware he was craddling her body in his arms.

"Oh I'm great. Totally used to putting myself up as a living battery for this thing" she said, leaning against the ginger monkey's chest as she tried but failed to fight back the blush that was slowly creeping across her face. There was a collective chuckle at her sarcastic words. "At least her personality is still intact" Pigsy said from where he was.

A soft groan brought Jiang's attention over to the pilot seat, and she watched as MK stood up, lightly holding his head. "Well hello little brother! Welcome back to the world of the living!" Jiang called, giggling slightly as he waved her off with a "Yeah, yeah". Later on, Pigsy set on a good pot full of noodles.

"A hearty meal rich in micronutrients is just what the body needs to refuel after battle" Sandy called out. "Couldn't have said it better myself" Nezah agreed. Jiang smiled at the group, and smirked at the sight of Mei and Red Son hanging together.

"You were done with that, right?" Macaque suddenly asked as he appeared over MK's shoulder holding some chopsticks. MK held the bowl of noodles away from the Monkey. "Uh, actually-" he started to say before Wukong took the bowl.

He was no longer wearing the armor or the jacket that he had been wearing before, and Jiang couldn't help but let her gaze wander over his well toned muscles. "He was saving that for me. Cause, you know, I'm  his mentor" he said before he began to scarf down the noodles. "Still the same Wukong, doing whatever he wants with no regard for others" Macaque commented as he stood up and crossed his arms, looking away.

MK and Jiang followed the conversation like someone watching a tennis match. "Mm yeah. Yeah I'll keep that in mind next time you scheme with the enemy. And nearly get us all D.E.D." Wukong snapped before he and Macaque had a glaring match as they pressed their foreheads together. Jiang thought she could even hear soft growls coming from the both of them.

"Uh, you two know your the same right?" MK asked as he pointed at the both of them. "I'm nothing like him!" Both monkeys cried, making the boy go silent before Macaque pulled away. "Hey! Where do you think your going?!" Wukong called out as he regained his balance.

"Dunno. Somewhere where I can do a bit of scheming probably" the edgy Monkey replied. Then he turned to look at the siblings. "See you two around guys" he said before disappearing into one of his shadow portals.

"Gah, hate that guy so much! Always acting like his so cool!" Wukong snapped before he continued to scarf down the noodles. "Oh, we know" Jiang told him as she handed her untouched bowl of noodles to MK, who took it with a grateful look before she stood up to go get another bowl. "Jiang, wait, I have something to say to you. Both of you" Wukong told her before looking at her brother.

Jiang look at him before taking a seat beside MK. "I know, I can never make it up to you guys. Honestly. I never thought I'd live as long as I have let alone be someone's mentor. Turns out I'm not very good at it" Wukong told them. "We all make mistakes Wukong. It's part of life" Jiang told him.

"It's still no excuse for the things I put you guys through. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm sorry guys. For all of it" Wukong replied. "It's okay. I can always get another bowl of noodles. Jiang let me have hers anyway" MK told him, making Jiang smile as Wukong spluttered a bit. "What?! No! Not the noodles! Ugh! I mean I'm sorry for being a bad mentor and making you and Jiang clean up after my mess!" The Great Sage cried.

"I know. Sometimes I just play dumb to lighten the mood" MK admitted. Jiang and Wukong let out a laugh as she gave MK a side hug. "That's my little brother alright" she chuckled.

"Me too bud. Me too" Wukong said as he pulled both siblings into a side hug. Jiang glanced over her shoulder as someone called out to MK. "Welp, someone's calling me. So, I'll be over there if you guys need me" the boy told the two before he wiggled himself out of their hold and headed over to the others.

Once he left, Wukong scooted a bit closer to Jiang. "So, you think she's really gone?" She asked. It didn't take a genius to know who she was talking about.

"She has to be. There's no way anyone could have survived that" Wukong reassured her. Jiang let out a sigh of relief as he looked ahead. Then, she glanced back.

Mei and MK were watching them like a hawk, and when she gave them an uncertain look, they both responded with enthusiastic gestures. Mei was even giving her a thumbs up gesture. Letting out a small nervous sigh, Jiang faced forward again, and thought over what she was about to say.

"So, um, there's been something that, I've been meaning to, well, wanting to tell you, for a while now, but the timing was never right, so..." she said before trailing off. "Well, I'd say now is as good a time as any" Wukong told her, making her smile and nod a bit. "Yeah. So, um, damn why is this so much harder than people make it out to be?" She said.

Wukong seemed slightly confused, and it made him look absolutely adorable. Screwing up her courage, Jiang let out a bit of a harsh breath, and came clean. "I like you. A lot. And I've liked you for a while now. Not as just a friend, and not as a student either" she said.

The ginger furred monkey blinked at her as he processed what she had told him, then his eyes went wide as a deep blush started to form over his cheeks. Jiang let out a soft chuckle. "I take it from the dark red blush on your face that you feel the same?" She asked, trying and failing to keep the hopefulness out of her voice.

Wukong snapped out of whatever haze he had been in, and chuckled as he brushed a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "You have no idea" he replied. His gaze flickered to her lips then back up to her eyes, but Jiang still caught on to it.

Taking the first initiative, she leaned forward, and pressed her lips against his. The ginger furred Monkey responded to the action just as quick, and after a moment, the two separated, and he gently leaned his forehead against hers, noses just barely touching as he gently rubbed his thumb across her cheeks. Then, they both couldn't help the small laughs as cheering came from the others.

Jiang pulled away first, and looked over at them. "Finally! MK! Our ship has finally set sail!" Mei practically screamed as she grabbed MK by the shoulders and shook him a bit. Then, she looked back.

"It was so hard, and painful to watch the two of you sidestep your painfully obvious feelings for each other!" She cried. "That isn't gonna end anytime soon, is it?" Wukong asked. "Nope. Probably not" Jiang replied with a smile as she faced forward again.

Wukong did too, and she gently leaned her head against his shoulder. "But hey, as long as your suffering with me, then I'll be fine" she said. She heard Wukong breath out a chuckle as he rested his head against hers as his tail curled around her waist.

"Fair enough" he said. In the coming days, the city, or rather, what parts of it were destroyed, were rebuilt, and life continued as it used to. With some exceptions of course.

LBD's host, who's name turned out to be Bai He, came around to the Noodle shop every day after school ended. Jiang often helped her out with her homework over a good bowl of noodles. She never saw it, but everyone else thought that she acted in a very, motherly, way towards the kid.

Jiang's eye, with the help of the Pheonix in her, healed withing a few days, but she could no longer see out of it. That eye was now a pale blue color, with the pupil being a few shades darker. But, at least a cool looking scar was left behind.

Wukong also came around about three times a week, and for Jiang, it was now normal to come home to her apartment to find a certain black furred Monkey passed out on the couch. She was pretty sure he was also the reason why there was less food in the fridge every time she woke up. Her relationship with Wukong was a very healthy and caring one, and MK would make a show of being disgusted when the two got all "lovey-dovey" with each other, as he called their affectionate moments with each other when he was around.

Though Jiang was pretty sure he was geeking out over it with Mei and Red Son behind closed doors. Oh yeah, the fire demon also came around to the shop every now and then when he needed a break from the Bull Demon Lair. And he was welcomed every time.

Jiang gave a soft smile as she looked around from where she was at the counter. Bai He was sitting up on one of the chairs, enjoying a bowl of noodles while listening to another of Tang's stories with a purring Mo on her lap and Sandy sitting beside her. Mei and Red Son sat at one of the tables, talking with MK, who sat across from them.

Pigsy was in the back, making a fresh pot of noodles. Wukong and Macaque were sitting across from each other and keeping up a half-hearted glaring contest. And surprisingly, both of them were holding up to the no arguing rule that Pigsy had placed.

Granted, Jiang often reinforced that rule when it looked like something was about to start, so, maybe that had something to do with it. The pheonix demon gave a sigh of content, then held the two bowls of noodles Pigsy gave her, which she then handed out to the two mystic monkeys, who stopped their glaring contest so that they could actually eat. Jiang gently scratched a certain spot behind her lover's ear, and smiled when she heard a quiet purr building up from his chest.

Yeah. This was the life. And she hoped and prayed to the gods above that this would never change.

And we are done! That is, until Season Four comes out. Jiang and Wukong's official ship name is PeachFire.

R.I.P. to Macaque's voice actor, Billy Kametz. He was really good at the job, and I don't know if anyone could ever replace him. Now, if ya'll have any questions for this stories characters, or requests of anything, you can put them in at my side story, LMK In-betweens.

Until next time you guys!
