Bad Weather

The sound of something slamming against the ground startled Jiang from her nap so badly that she fell off of her napping spot and landed on the hard surface of the ground. Looking over, she spotted MK who was recounting their fight with the Demon Bull King. For the fifth. Time. This. Week.

He had dug the staff in a little too hard, because water began springing from the hole he had created. "MK, really? I just finished patching up the last hole yesterday!" Jiang scolded as she picked herself and her hair sticks up. MK looked very apologetic, which quickly turned to fear when Pigsy stomped up to everyone.

"I just called a quadruple shift at the shop, and I show up to see you all've been slacking off all day!" The pig demon snapped. "Oh Pigy, relax. A little time off never hurt anyone" Tang told him. Jiang jumped to the side as MK practically kept onto Tang.

"Yeah! A little time off never hurt nobody!" He agreed. "Look out!* Sandy shouted. The chains on what he was moving with a crane broke, and the cargo began to fall.

Everyone but MK and Jiang moved out the way, while the two looked up with a confused expression, allowing the cargo to land right on top of them. "Kids!" Jiang heard Pigsy yell, but strangely enough, nothing hurt. She was bleeding, and she wasn't dying either.

Which could only mean one thing.

"We. Are. Invincible!" MK shouted after forcing his way out. "Haha! I don't believe it! I don't have a single scratch on me! Great, now I gotta fix my hair again" Jiang cried after checking herself over before realization settled in. Mei let out a joyful laugh and ran off while everyone else breathed a sigh of relief.

"Look, MK, Jiang, just because you two have the Monkey King's powers and all doesn't mean-" Pigsy cut himself off as everyone gasped at what Mei had. "MK! Jiang! How about this?!" Mei called out before firing what looked to be a rocket pistol. The bullets exploded the second they made contact with the two kids.

Making everyone but Mei yell out of fright. "We. Are. Invincible!" MK shouted again as he and Jiang climbed out of the rubble and debris. Pigsy looked about ready to yell a lecture at the two, but decided against it.

"Look kiddos, your superheroes now. Your going to need-" he said before being interrupted by Mei, who said "A cape!". "Or maybe a logo. Or, a headquarters. Some vehicles. Oh, you know, all the stuff to help you beat bad guys" she said. "No! What I was gettin' at was-" Pigsy tried to say before being interrupted again.

"To the secret base!" Mei called before leaning against something. A few doors opened before revealing something with glowing green lights, making everyone gawk at it. Everyone clambered into the elevator, which took them down somewhere.

"Welcome, to our new team base" Mei said as the lights went on, revealing a few awesome looking vehicles. "Mei! When did you make this?!" Jiang and MK chorused. "How did you make this?!" Pigsy added.

Suddenly, a TV turned on by itself, showing a very familiar and increasingly annoying villain. "Citizens, it is I, Red Son. I have taken control of the weather station and will harness the very power of nature to return my father to his former glory. This message is more of a courtesy really. When I'm finished, my father will once more dominate the world! And then, oh look. A lightning button". Everyone except Tang started yelling.

"Aw yeah!" MK, Mei, and Jiang all chorused before running off. "What do you mean 'aw yeah'? This ain't an 'aw yeah' moment!" Pigsy cried. "Chill out Pigsy. Me and MK are invincible, remember? If Red Son wants to tussle with the champs, then I say bring it on!" Jiang said, performing a cool spinning trick with the staff.

"Yeah, because their superheroes yo! The red baby is going to get J. k. Owned!" Mei said. Pigsy sighed. "You have a lot to learn kids. Don't just dive headfirst into danger. Wait, what did I just say?!" He said before shouting as Jiang pole vaulted away while giving MK a piggy back ride.

The boy laughed. "Totally invincible!" He shouted. "Dude! Not while your right by my ear!" Jiang called, rubbing at her ear. "Oh, sorry" MK apologized.

Soon enough, the entire group stormed the weather station. "Not so fast Red Son!" MK called out. "And que the overused line of any movie or show" Jiang said, facepalming.

"Noodle boy, Random girl, I thought I smelled some garbage. Turns out I was right" Red Son said before laughing. "Laugh all you want, but me and MK are invincible now, soo yeah. You're basically a goner" Jiang said before MK took the staff and tried to fight with it. But the thing had extended again, and now it put him off-balance.

Mei tried to encourage him, but she ended up getting hit with the staff and fell to the floor. "Ah! Jeez! Watch what'cher doin!" Pigsy yelled. "Shit! Sorry Mei!" Jiang called before the staff moved on its own again, this time hitting Sandy.

"Oh no! You've killed him!" Tang cried while he was on his knees beside the blue skinned giant. "Eh, he's a big guy. He'll be fine" Mei said, patting Sandy's arm. "You dorks done beating each other up yet?" Red Son asked as he slouched in his chair, sounding very bored.

"Yes! And your next on my list!" MK cried, pointing the staff at Red Son, who simply glanced at it, before throwing the staff like a javelin at the fire demon. Well, tried to. Somehow, the thing ended up behind Jiang.

Then it went haywire again with it's extension thing. It slammed into the poor girl's back, and began to bounce all over the place, hitting the walls and ceiling of the building. Eventually, Jiang was tossed out of the building.

"Jiang!" MK cried before leaping out of the hole after her. "MK?! You should have stayed with our friends. They need the help you know!" Jiang's lectured him. "You aren't the only one who's invincible!" She added.

"Are you really going to do this while we're falling?!"

"It would have been just me falling if you hadn't been an impulsive idiot!"

"Excuse me?!"

The arguing stopped when the duo landed hard in the middle of the street, creating a decent sized crater. "...For the record, I blame you for this" Jiang said as she laid on her back. "How're you doing there guys?" Said a familiar voice.

Jiang lifted herself up and looked over, surprise and relief filling her as she saw who it was. "Monkey King! Great! Now that you're here, we can both fly up and smash that-!" MK said before Wukong interrupted him. "Nonononono. In case you both forgot, I'm retired. You both are the ones supposed to be taking care of the bad guys" he said, crossing his legs and pointing a staff, that came out of nowhere, at the two with his tail.

Jiang and MK looked at him dumbfounded. "Well damn. Guess I didn't get that memo" Jiang said, sharing a look with MK as she scratched the back of her neck. "Besides, your both invincible! Right?" Wukong added.

"Well, yeah. I mean, we are invincible, but, you know..." MK said. "Would be nice to have some help here and there every once in a while" Jiang added, putting her hands on her hips. "Besides, every time I try to do anything, I just, gunk everything up! Something's wrong" MK said, looking at his hands.

"It is a little, difficult, to control what we got power-wise" Jiang said. Both siblings were predictably startled when Wukong jumped onto MK shoulders and started picking through his hair. "Hey, watch it! That's my little brother your on!" Jiang called out.

"You were just arguing a minute ago, now your trying to protect him? Sibling dynamics. I will never understand" Wukong shot back at her before continuing to pick through the boy's hair. "Oh yeah, your right! Oh, this is bad. Something's really wrong!" he said, pausing in his movements to lean into MK's face. MK began to panic, and Jiang watched as he began to run around with a hundred plus pound human monkey hybrid on his shoulders.

"What is it?! What's wrong?!" MK cried. "It's you dummy" Wukong said, holding up an insect. "Oh, I hate those things! Blood-sucking creeps!" Jiang called out.

She then quietly gagged and shuddered when Wukong ate the insect. "What?" MK asked, still confused. "In order to have full control of your powers, you need self-confidence" Wukong said, jumping off of MK and landing up on the edge of the crater.

"I've got self confidence!" MK said as he also hopped out. "MK, little brother, you do not have self confidence. Your just loud. Take it from someone who lives with you twenty-four seven" Jiang said, patting his shoulder. "The only way to get self-confidence is-" Wukong said.

"Fake it till I make it?" MK guessed. "No! Practice! You think I took shortcuts?! No! It took me centuries of training and fighting and just beating up demons! Just, so many demons. Anyway. Nothing worth anything, comes for free" Wukong lectured before clearing his throat. "But what about our friends? This city? They're all counting on me and MK! Even if the majority of it doesn't realize that" Jiang said, crossing her arms.

Wukong let out a loud slightly drawn out groan. "Fine. If it'll stop both both your guy's whining. I know a way to limit your powers so you can learn to control them, but..." He said before trailing off. "But what?" Jiang asked, moving hands back to her hips again.

"The two of you won't be invincible anymore" Wukong told her. Jiang and MK looked at each other, and a silent conversation plus agreement seemed to pass by. "Alright, let's get it over with" MK said after a small sigh.

"Anything to get better control of our powers and for MK to get that self confidence you were spittin about" Jiang said with a light shrug. "Alright, no turning back" Wukong said. Placing a hand on both kids shoulder, he managed to cap their powers.

MK went down on his hands and knees while Jiang hugged her middle. "Feeling alright, you two?" Wukong asked, a hint of worry in his voice. "Let's just I never want to do that again" Jiang answered him, feeling nauseous.

She glanced over at MK, who had yet to respond. "Yeah, I'm alright" he said. "Heh. Kid's doing better than me" Jiang said as she and Wukong shared a look.

Transforming into a large eagle, Wukong airlifted both of the kids back up to the weather building, where, through the glass, Jiang could see their friends defeated and tied up. "Oh Red Son!" She said in a sing-song voice before Wukong let both her and MK go, with the boy holding the staff. Jiang landed in a Spiderman pose while MK flopped on the ground.

He quickly corrected himself though. "Let's settle this for real. I won't let you get away with this" he said. "Again with the cliche overused movie lines?" Jiang question him as she stood up.

Red Son laughed a bit. "Your back to beat yourself up some more?" He asked, amused. "Hey! I'll have you know I can control my powers now!" MK shot back.

"Only downside is me and my sister aren't invincible anymore, so we could die" he added. "What?!" Pigsy yelled. "Forget he said anything! Besides, we got this! With it without invincibility" Jiang yelled at him.

"Here comes the Monkey Kids!" MK yelled at he and Jiang shot forward. Red Son and the bull clones did the same, the sheer number scaring MK. "I totally don't got this!" He cried, running off as missiles exploded behind him.

"Oh my gods" Jiang groaned, exasperated, before fighting off some bull clones. She spotted MK holding his ground for a good few seconds against Red Son before he was knocked back into a control panel. Her momentary distraction allowed a clone to land a good hit on her, which knocked her back to where MK was.

"Oh, that's gonna bruise" she said with a hand over her eye. "How are we supposed to fight all of them?!" MK cried out. Then, both of their eyes turned gold, and everything seemed to slow down.

"The gold vision's back!" Jiang said, removing her hand. Looking around, a flash of light from above caught their attention, and the duo looked up. Right as bolts of lighting stretched across the sky.

Jiang gasped. "That's it!" She cried right as the gold vision stopped. Then, all the bull clones that were airborne crashed into the two.

Red Son landed on top of the pile. "Not so tough without your Monkey King powers, are you?!" He taunted. Jiang heard him, and placed her hands on the staff, focusing and willing it to do what she had planned.

The staff shot up, breaking up the pile and destroying the clones as it went. The staff even hit Red Son in the face before it shot through the glass tile roof of the building. The fire demon held on to the top of the staff before looking down.

Jiang laughed up at him before looking over. "Hey MK? Care to do the honors?" She asked, waving her hand over a button. "Oh look! A lightning button!" MK said before he pressed it.

Lightning sparked up everywhere, and seeing that the staff was made of metal, the electricity was immediately drawn to it, electrocuting everyone who was touching it. The bull clones exploded from the electrical overload, and Jiang pulled MK with her to hide behind the desk. After everything was over, the staff shrunk to it's usual size, and MK and Jiang both peeked out at the sound of someone yelling, which turned out to be Red Son as he collided with the floor.

"You two may have won this round, but, you're both, still, garbage!" Red Son snapped at them before his body was engulfed in flames. "While your gone, think of better insults while your at it. Garbage, Noodle boy, and Random girl are not the best you overusing demon" Jiang called out before the flames disappear, revealing that the owner had now disappeared. "He's gonna try to kill you for that" MK said, looking up at his sister.

"Not like he didn't just try to do that today, but, let him try to kill me all he wants. I'll be waiting. Now, let's get this place back to normal, shall we?" Jiang replied before clapping her hands together. MK handed her the staff while he fixed the weather, bringing back the clear sunny skies. "And that should do it" he said.

"MK! Jiang!" Mei cried out, headbutting the both of them. "Aw, you guys really did limit your powers" she whined after seeing what that had done. "Yeah, just until we learn to control them better" Jiang told her.

"And how are you two going to do that?" Pigsy asked. "Practice, practice, practice" MK chanted as he tried to spin the staff, but he ended up hitting himself on the head with it, which made everybody laugh. "MK, remember, we're not invincible anymore" Jiang said and she crossed her arms.

Ignoring MK's muttering and looking up to the sky, she muttered under her breath, "And hopefully with a bit of outside help, practice really will make perfect."
