A day in the life of Freya when she's not a firefighter
Mia strutted into the police station, fully decked out in her scuba suit, complete with fins, a snorkel, and an air tank strapped to her back. The officers and her siblings stared in bewildered silence as she marched past them, her bright yellow and black suit making quite the statement.
"Good morning, everyone!" Mia called out cheerfully, waving her gloved hand. "I'm here for my shift!"
Clemmons, barely able to contain his laughter, approached Mia cautiously. "Uh, Mia? Why are you wearing a scuba suit?"
Mia beamed with pride. "Because, Clemmons, the easy way is rarely the best way! If we're going to be prepared for anything, we need to be ready for every possible situation. Even underwater ones!"
Buster, still half-asleep, raised an eyebrow and signed, Did you just wake up and decide to go scuba diving to work?
Mia nodded vigorously. "Exactly! You never know when there'll be a surprise underwater emergency. Plus, this way, I'm always ready for anything!"
Allen rubbed his forehead, clearly exasperated. "You know, Mia, most emergencies don't involve water. You're probably just going to end up very hot and sweaty in that suit."
Mia adjusted her snorkel with a determined look. "Ah, but that's where you're wrong! Better to be over-prepared than under-prepared. And who knows? Maybe today we'll uncover a secret underwater crime ring!"
The captain, walking by and seeing Mia in her full scuba gear, stopped and blinked. "Mia, is there a reason you're in scuba gear today?"
Mia stood at attention. "Captain, I'm prepared for anything! Even if it's something as extreme as a flood or a boat chase through the city!"
The captain looked bemused but amused. "Alright, Mia. If you're comfortable, then by all means. Just don't expect to use the scuba gear in any land-based emergencies."
Clemmons sighed. "I suppose there's no convincing you otherwise."
Mia grinned widely and gave a thumbs up. "Nope! Now, let's get to work. I'm ready to tackle anything that comes our way!"
As Mia waddled off in her scuba suit, her brothers and the officers exchanged glances, trying to suppress their laughter. Duke leaned over to Freya and whispered, "What's next, a fireman suit for when it gets hot?"
Freya chuckled. "With Mia, you never know. At least she's enthusiastic about her job."
Just as she said that, an alarm went off, and Mia went to it.
" Hello?" She asked into it. She listened for a few minutes, and said, " Okay, I'm coming."
She came out of her scuba gear, revealing her police uniform.
" There's a 55-e4-545r in order!" She exclaimed, running to Duke's car, sliding in, and zooming away.
Duke sputtered. " A 55-e4-545r is not that big! That's just fruit on the floor."
" Wait.... you don't think she's gonna ticket EVERY CAR IN SIGHT, DO YOU?!" Clemmons yelled.
Freya sighed. " We'd better check."
As Duke, Freya, and the rest of the team rushed to the scene, they were met with a sight that could only be described as utter chaos. Mia was at the center of it all, standing proudly next to a line of cars being towed away.
The scene looked like a car dealership had been invaded by a fleet of tow trucks, each one loaded with a vehicle. Among the towed cars were several that belonged to the police department, including the captain's prized sports car and the chief's custom skateboard.
Mia was in the midst of it, giving directions to the tow truck drivers with a look of intense concentration. "Make sure to get that one, too! And don't forget to issue a ticket for improper fruit placement!"
Clemmons arrived first, his face reddening in a mix of frustration and disbelief. "Mia! What in the world are you doing? That's the captain's car and Chief's skateboard!"
Mia turned with a bright smile, her police badge gleaming. "Oh, Clemmons! I'm just making sure the 55-e4-545r is properly enforced. The streets need to be clear of fruit hazards!"
Freya shook her head, trying to suppress a laugh. "Mia, you do realize that a 55-e4-545r is just a small incident, right? It's not an excuse to tow every car in sight!"
Duke, trying to process the madness, added, "And why are you towing the chief's skateboard? That's a bit over the top, don't you think?"
Just then, the captain and the chief arrived on the scene, looking both bewildered and irate. The captain, visibly upset, marched up to Mia. "What is the meaning of this? Why is my car on a tow truck?"
Mia stood at attention, saluting. "Captain, I'm enforcing the 55-e4-545r to ensure the safety of our streets. The rules must be followed!"
The chief, rubbing his temples, muttered, "And why is my skateboard among the towed vehicles?"
Mia replied confidently, "Rule 33-56-h78 states that all items on the street must be properly secured. Your skateboard was in violation."
The captain's face turned red. "This is ridiculous! You've turned a minor incident into a full-blown operation. Get those cars back!"
Clemmons sighed, looking around at the cars being towed. "Mia, can you please release the vehicles? We need to get back to normal. And for the love of all that's logical, stop issuing tickets for fruit on the street!"
Mia nodded, reluctantly waving her hand. "Okay, I'll release them. But next time, let's make sure everyone follows the rules to avoid another 55-e4-545r!"
With a few more instructions and a lot of apologies, the cars were eventually returned, and the skateboard was given back to the chief. The captain, still grumbling, got into his car, and the chief gave Mia a ' really' look before rolling away on his skateboard.
Clemmons, Freya, and Duke took a deep breath, finally able to relax.
"You know," Clemmons said, "Mia's enthusiasm for rules is impressive, but sometimes I wish she'd scale it back a bit."
Freya chuckled, shaking her head. "Well, at least she's committed. Just... next time, let's try not to have every car in town towed."
Mia, now back in her police uniform, grinned widely. "Don't worry! I'll be ready for the next emergency. And remember, if you need a rule enforced, you know who to call!"
As the sun set on the chaotic day, everyone agreed that it had been one for the books. And Mia, despite her unorthodox methods, had once again proven that she was always ready for action—no matter how unconventional her approach.
