Paige's POV

Pagkarating ko sa pribadong lapagan ng eroplano ng Grande Prairie Airport, Canada, sinalubong ako ng tatlong lalaki na nakasuot ng itim na uniforms.

All three of them looked foreign, and based on their features, they must be Canadians or Americans.

I immediately took notice of their gold badges that had the letters CAP stitched on them.

Carswell, Austria and Prince...

Sinabayan ko sila sa paglalakad patungo sa isa sa mga eroplano.

"You're the founders' men?" tanong ko.

"Yes, ma'am, we are collectively called the CAP." One of them spoke with a Texan accent. "But I am from the Carswell's."

Palihim akong napangiti nang mapagtantong hindi niya ako kilala.

"You must be the white knight sent by Madam Carswell?" tanong niya. "Because of your white robe?"

Hindi ako sumagot at sa halip ay panandaliang napasulyap lang sa kapa na suot ko.

"Tell me about the situation in Saskatchewan," tugon ko.

Saskatchewan is a province of Canada that has wide grasslands and fields, which is why it didn't come to me as a surprise that the huntsmen built three of their facilities under it.

'Careful, Paige, you'll be facing more than one at the same time.'

Daglian akong napapikit sa gulat dahil sa boses ni Grey mula sa earpiece na kamuntikan ko nang nakalimutan ay suot ko pala.

Tinanggal ko ito saka ibinulsa.

"An Alpha was able to locate the three facilities, ma'am," sabi ng lalaki. "She drowned one of them, and our allies are currently in the middle of battle on the Missouri Plateau."

"But I just got word that the Alpha was wounded and is on her way back to the base camp-"

"They have abilities?" I realized. "The huntsmen they're fighting."

Tumango siya. "Yes, ma'am."

Papalapit na kami sa military aircraft na kabubukas lang para sa'min nang magtanong siya sa'kin.

"Excuse me, ma'am, but aren't you also a student?"

Hindi ako sumagot at umakyat ng hagdan papasok ng transport plane.

Nang isarado na ng dalawa pang tauhan ang pinto ng eroplano ay saka ko lang nilingon ang tauhang nagtanong.

"I am," sagot ko.

"I'm sorry but I cannot understand why the founders' white knights are students ma'am," aniya. "I thought you were an entire army."

Walang ipinagbago ang blankong ekspresyon sa aking mukha. 

"I am," sabi ko. "-an entire army."

Napatigil siya, pati na rin ang dalawa pang mga kasama namin sa loob ng eroplano.

For a few seconds, silence filled the entire space as they took time to take in what I just seriously said, until we heard the pilot's voice from the speakers.

"Alright, Folks." The plane's engine began to accelerate. "I hope you have already taken your seats because we are already on the runway."

Inside the plane were two columns of seats that faced each other. The three men sat on one side while I took a seat from across them.

At dahil wala akong ibang magawa, tinitigan ko lang sila na nagbubulong-bulungan nang nakakunot ang mga noo, halatang pinag-uusapan ang kasasabi ko lang.

Saka ko napansin ang maiitim na bags na nasa tabi nilang mga upuan.

The plane soon took off and a few minutes after it did, the men stood from their seats and grabbed the bags.

Inabutan ako ng Texan CAP ng isa. "We're paratroopers, ma'am," sabi niya. "And this is a parachute for you."

Paratroopers, are people trained to parachute into an operation, which means the founders really do have their own military force behind them, including airborne force.

Matagal-tagal akong napatitig sa bag.

"You know how to operate a parachute, don't you?" nag-aalalang tanong ng CAP.

Inangat ko ang aking tingin sa kanya. "I don't need it."

At napahinto na naman siya, pati na yung dalawa na nasa kalagitnaan ng pagsusuot ng parachute.

Natawa siya nang mahina. "If you say so."

Minasdan ko lang sila na pinaghahanda ang kanilang mga sarili.

"Tell me more about the CAP," tugon ko.

"The CAP is the military organization formed to fight against the huntsmen, ma'am," pagbibigay-alam niya. "At first, it were only the men of Carswell's and Austria's, and then the Prince's joined."

Tumango-tango ako.

"You're pure mortals?" usisa ko.

"Yes, we awfully are." Nginitian niya ako. "We're a few of the people who know about the existence of mythological creatures like you. Some of us, are even descended from nymphs such as myself, but my nymph blood has already disappeared at this point."

"While some..." Nanghina ang kanyang boses. "Some of us are mortals that volunteered after having to witness the work of the huntsmen."

Mga taong nadamay sa pinanggagawa ng huntsmen...

"They're really bringing chaos into this world, aren't they?" tanong ko.

"Yes, ma'am." Nagkabahid ng kalungkutan ang kanyang ngiti. "I for one, lost my little sister because the huntsmen thought she looked like a nymph, and they kidnapped her."

Dahan-dahang bumagsak ang aking paningin.

"They drained her blood and they did find out we were descended from a nymph, but then our mythological blood is only a decimal percentage, so they threw her away."

"I'm sorry," paninimpatya ko.

He let out a bitter laugh. "There will always be evil in this world, ma'am," paalala niya sa'kin. "What matters is which side you are on."

"And even though I am only a mere mortal." Hinigpitan niya ang horizontal belt ng suot niyang parachute bag. "I would rather die fighting for the good."

The difference between the huntsmen's soldiers and our allied soldiers...

Kinuyom ko ang aking mga palad nang unti-unting bumalik ang galit na naramdaman ko simula nang mapinsala ang mga pakpak ng Academy.

At si Reign...

Tumayo na ako pagkatapos marinig ang pagbukas ng hatch ng eroplano.

"Let's go boys!" sigaw ng Texan CAP saka tumalon kasama yung dalawa.

I looked down on the land from above before stepping outside the hatch and letting myself fall.

Hinigpitan ko ang pagkakakuyom ng aking mga kamao nang bilisan ko ang pagbagsak sa lupa.

Behind my back, my cape roughly waved against the wind, while I focused on how to land myself without destroying the on-going war on the ground.

I angled my feet toward an empty space not so far from the crowd.

With my brows furrowed due to intense concentration, I landed on the earth with a booming sound and large burst of energy, kneeling on one knee and with a hand on the ground to stop myself from sinking deep.

From the shade of my hood, I glanced up at the allies and enemies who stopped fighting to look at me.

Tumayo ako at kasabay nito ay ang pagpakawala ko ng aking presensya nang sa gano'n ay mananatili silang hindi makagalaw.

Umalis ako mula sa gitna ng mababaw na butas sa lupa, na inukit ng mabigat kong bagsak dito.

I almost flinched when I hurt my sprained ankle from the impact, but I was quick to ignore it.

Because the one who's truly hurt... is my best friend in the ICU.

While walking towards the battlefield, I heard a male student scream.

"Retreat! She's here!"

And then one of the huntsmen also shouted, "Attack!"

Sinundan ko ng tingin ang allies na tinulak ang mga huntsmen at nagmamadaling lumayo sa kanila. Samantalang, napaharap ang lahat ng mga kalaban sa'kin.

Seismic waves, are the the natural waves that occur under the earth.

Huminto ako sa sandaling nagsimulang gumalaw ang lupa, napatigil din ang allies na nakalayo-layo na sa huntsmen.

Under my feet, small but fast vibrations that turned into larger ones spread, resulting in the shaking of the ground.

I maintained my balance as I walked closer to the huntsmen who were still confused as to where the earthquake is coming from.

Habang papalapit ako sa kanila, papalakas din ang pagyanig ng lupa.

Though I'm not only doing it to distract them, but also to detect and destroy their underground facilities.

Napatigil ako nang makarinig ng magkasunod-sunod na pagputok ng mga baril.

Tinapunan ko ng tamad na tingin ang mga bala na huminto sa tapat ko.

Electromagnetic waves, are the natural waves that occur in the atmosphere, due to the Earth's magnetic core.

Pinaningkitan ko ang mga bala na dahan-dahang pumihit sa direksyon ng pinanggalingan nito.

The power to control electromagnetic waves have given me the abilities to manipulate gravity and generate force fields, or the magnetic energy that surrounds an object or a place.

Sometimes, I use force fields as a shield, as defense, but other times...

Pinasabog ko ang force field na sinummon ko para palibutan ako, at ipinadala ang mga bala pabalik sa huntsmen.

Other times, I use it as offense.

Sinulyapan ko ang allies, at dahan-dahan kong inangat ang bawat sandata na nasa kamay nila. 

Kasunod kong tinignan ang huntsmen at marahas na nilipad ang kanilang mga sandata sa gitna ng field.

Sa ilalim ng aking kapa, pinihit ko ang aking kamay at kasabay nito ay ang pagtutok ng bawat weapons ng battlefield sa direksyon ng huntsmen.

My gaze lifted and together, the weapons also raised higher in the air.

And then I threw the huntsmen a bored look, sending the sharp blades at their direction.

Bahagyang umangat ang isang sulok ng aking labi nang kontrolin ko rin ang mga baril nila at nagsimulang magpaputok.

They scattered like ants whose mount was just stepped on after majority of them fell.

If this war started with the huntsmen outnumbering the allies, I'm ending it with no number at all.

Nakaramdam ako ng presensya sa aking likod kaya humilig ako at inangat ang isa kong paa paikot para sipain ang tagiliran ng isang lalaki.

The moment my leg touched his waist, I also used my ability to generate the force that sent him flying towards gods know where.

He can teleport, I realized.

"Nice ability," nababagot kong puna.

I leaned again to the side when a ball of light passed by from behind me.

Umikot ako at nakita ang isang babae.

At ilang sandali pa'y natagpuan ko ang aking sarili na pinalibutan ng anim na huntsmen.

"So you're the ones who have powers..." bulong ko at inulit ang tanong ng kapatid ko sa aking isipan, But do you really know what true power is?

Napatigil ako nang makaramdam ng panlalamig sa mga paa ko. 

Tinignan ko ito at nalamang nabalot sa yelo ang aking paanan.

I looked at the trail of snow and traced it back to the huntsman on my left who looked as young as me.

If I truly was my normal self, I would have started thinking how the hell he was able to have such power, but no, inside my mind, there was nothing but destruction.

Before the ice could reach my knees, I generated a force field from inside my right foot to create cracks and using my superstrength, kicked my foot free.

Ginawa ko rin ito sa kabilang paa ko.

Mula sa mga paa ko, inangat nila ang kanilang mga tingin sa'kin.

I snickered.

"I bet you can't make me raise an arm-" Naputol ang paghahamon ko nang masilayan ko ang pagkinang ng hangin kaya humakbang ako patagilid para iwasan ang isang babae na nanlalaki ang mga mata sa sandaling napagtanto niyang mas mabilis pa ako sa kanya.

Why wouldn't I be? When I have trained against the rest of the Omegas.

One glint is all it takes for me to sense the direction and speed of an attack.

I quickly leaped and twisted my body to kick the back of her head, sending her face to carve a line on the ground.

"You're a joke," nangangalit kong puna sa kanila. "You all are."

Invisible force fields surrounded their bodies and lifted them high in the air.

Umikot ako paharap sa natitirang huntsmen na pakalat-kalat lang at bago pa sila tuluyang makaalis ay nag-summon ako ng malaking force field sa plateau at mabilisan itong pinaliit.

Lumagpas lang ang force field sa allies, ngunit pwersahang tinulak nito ang mga kalaban hanggang sa matapon silang lahat sa aking harapan.

Pinaloob ko rin sila sa sarili nilang force field at inangat mula sa lupa.

Sinulyapan ko ang mga huntsmen na natamaan ng blades at mga bala upang masiguradong wala na ngang buhay sa kanila.

Saka ko nilipad paangat sa kalangitan ang huntsmen na natira.

Pagkatapos, sinalubong ko ang tingin ng allies.

Tinitigan ko lang sila, habang may hinihintay.

I know that the force fields surrounding the huntsmen will disappear when it reaches thinner atmosphere, so I just threw them up high like balls in the air.

Nilabas ko ang earpiece mula sa aking bulsa at sinuot ito.

"I'm done here," sambit ko.

'You ended the war?' tanong ni Grey.

"Not yet, give me a few seconds."

I counted twelve seconds before the first body splat on the ground in front of me.

Sunod-sunod na nagsibagsakan ang mga katawan ng huntsmen sa lupa. 

Binilang ko rin sila, at pagkaraan ng ilan pang mga segundo, napalibutan na ako ng huntsmen na nagkatalsik-talsik ang mga katawan dahil sa bilis ng pagkahulog at lakas ng pagbagsak.

Fortunately, my hunch was right, that not one of them had the ability to fly.

"Finished," saad ko.

'Go back to the allies' camp to wait for the plane that I just sent.' Grey said. 'It will arrive tonight.'

I let out a tired sigh before walking towards the allies.

Huminto ako sa harap nila. "I already destroyed their underground facilities when I summoned the earthquakes," sabi ko sa kanila. "But I suggest we send some men to make sure that we have left nothing."

Isang CAP ang lumapit, 'yong Texan na paratrooper.

"You rained weapons and rained down enemies to their death? Without raising a hand?"

Daglian kong nilingon ang nakalatay na mga katawan ng huntsmen.

"I guess you could say that." Nag-abot ang aking kilay. "Why?"

"What-" Napaatras siya. "Who?" Luminga-linga siya. "Who is this? And why did no one tell us we had white knights like these?!"

Hindi sumagot ang mga estudyante.

I took a deep breath and was the first to hold out my hand to him.

"Paige of the Omega Class," pagpapakilala ko sa sarili. "Daughter of the saint and the seeker."
