Legends of Olympus
Golden Age | omegas, the last chapter...
Mrs. Prince's POV
"What's taking her so long?"
"I don't know either," Doctor Seht adjusted his mist-infused glasses that his wife made for him.
And speaking of his wife, she finally entered the office.
I stopped tapping my pen on the desk and lifted my gaze at the two demigods seated across me.
"He's here."
"Mmm."
"Have one of you seen him?" tanong ko.
"I probably will," ani Seht. "He's gonna have to stop by the clinic to claim his medical certificate."
I put my pen down on the table. "I volunteered to cover for the Omega's PE and Semideus." An amused smile curved on my lips. "It's time I get serious on training them, physically and ability-wise."
"Ria," Seht sighed. "Don't be too hard on them. You're already overpopulating the clinic with students from other classes."
Natawa ako nang mahina. "I'll try my best."
He looked at me with exhausted eyes and slowly shook his head.
"Their records, Mrs. Prince," she bowed as she handed it to me.
I didn't bother to say thanks and let her walk out of the office in silence.
"Let's meet again if one of us finally gets to see him," tugon ko. "Then we can discuss about our impressions."
And they both know I'm not referring to how he looked, but rather, how the air moved around him.
To be honest, it's been years since I last saw him, and only for a short time, because he only left the Underworld to visit his mother's grave once a year.
I got busy with work and although I do visit Kaye every year, it's not always on the day of her death.
"Thea, can I borrow your phone?"
Nilingon niya ako nang nakakunot ang noo. "Sa'n ba yung sa'yo?"
Kumisap-kisap ako. "I left it at the training room."
"Ibalik mo 'yan, ah."
Nginitian ko siya. "Thank you."
I waited for them to leave before turning the silver phone on and looked for my husband's number on Thea's contacts.
Mrs. Sol, daughter of Hephaestus, and the chief engineer of the Academy, didn't just renovate the whole school to make it self-sufficient. She also expanded its territory, and continues to advance our technology.
There are only three phones like this in the Academy. Phones whose signals can go through the school barrier and the mist. And Thea made it especially for us so we can easily contact the other Alpha Omegas.
'Ma!'
"Mikhail, what did I say about screaming when answering calls?"
'Sa'n si Kuya Zack?! Nagkita na ba kayo?!'
I stared boredly at the wall in front of me. "I haven't seen him-"
'Ma! Andito sina Tita Cesia saka si Celeste!'
Napatigil ako. "Really?"
'Mmm! Tita Cesia, oh!'
'Hi, Ria,' malumanay niyang bati.
"Hi." Napangiti ako. "What are you doing there?"
'Dumaan lang kami. May kailangan kasi si Trev kay Chase.'
"Oh..." I leaned my back comfortably against the swivel chair. "So how's Celeste?"
"She's just her father's daughter."
Muli na naman siyang napabuga ng hangin.
"I called because he's here." I informed her.
Silence soon followed, as my eyes slowly bore on the records in front of me.
"I have to check something," paalam ko. "I'll call again to update you."
'Sige, Ria, ingat kayong lahat d'yan.'
"You too," I said, before ending the call.
I put the phone on the table and reached for the folder at the same time. Upon opening, I was greeted by eight ID pictures of students who belong to the Omega Class of Olympus Academy.
Xerxes Gabriel Y. Austria
'Grey, son of the scion and the rose.'
Skyreign Y. Austria
'Reign, daughter of the scion and the rose.'
Vance Elliott N. Carswell
'Vance, son of the saint and the seeker.'
Minerva Paige N. Carswell
'Paige, daughter of the saint and the seeker.'
Zacharille S. Prince
'Zack, son of the fox and the warrior.'
Isabella S. Salvatori
'Bella, daughter of the prince and the pure.'
Alexander Cole R. Sol
'Ash, son of the light and the bearer.'
Alexandra Light R. Sol
'Amber, daughter of the light and the bearer.'
My thumb lightly ran on the space beside the last Omega, and I couldn't help but gently smile at the thought of Kaye, who was and will always be an Omega, too.
"Henri Percival Slade..." bulong ko. "-son of the lady of the white sea."
I already know that he will only get his mother's title, because his father, is not one of the twelve founders.
"Son of Destiny."
Oculus of Time | Future Rising
Reign's POV
"Excuse me!"
"Umm... H-Hi.." bati ko sa kanya. "I'm Reign, ako yung inatasang mag-manage dito? How can I help?"
"Oh!" She clasped her hands. "It's a good thing you're here! I'll be the one to check their names on the list before they could get to you."
"So, ako yung kukuha ng ID Pictures?" tanong ko.
Tumango siya. "Yes, and their new names, as well."
"I'm really sorry kung natagalan ako." I apologized, again. "Ngayon ko lang nalaman-"
Natawa siya nang marahan. "It's okay."
Napanatag ang loob ko sa sinabi niya. "Thank you for understanding...?" I just realized I didn't get her name.
Gods. Descendant ako ni Mnemosyne. I should be good at remembering!
"Daughter of Dionysus."
"And I already know you," dugtong pa niya. "Everyone here knows you."
I gave her a problematic smile. "Pasensya na talaga, Vine..."
"You have a habit of always being late, right?" natatawa niyang tanong. "I understand."
Kinagat ko ang pang-ibabang labi ko. "Yeah, umm- I think we should get to work now."
A late-comer.
"Welcome to Olympus Academy."
I really shouldn't have stayed up so late last night. I didn't even get to sleep on my way here because of Zack's driving.
Just because he's fast doesn't mean he should drive us like we're being chased by an apocalypse.
"Tss." I hissed.
"Hi."
"I'm-"
"Reign." Inunahan niya ako.
"Ah-hahaha..." I let out an awkward laugh. "How did you-"
Napatigil ako pagkatapos makita ang pin niya.
Kumikinang ang kulay ginto nito at yung simbolo...
Ω
We're the same.
Omega, the class for the descendants of the Academy's founders and foundresses, the demigods who won the war of the realms...
"Who's your founder?"
"Foundress," he corrected.
Foundress...
"You're finally here," sambit ko.
He slightly raised his brows, na para bang dagliang namangha dahil nakilala ko agad siya.
Then, he chuckled. "I am."
"Reign of the Omega Class, daughter of the scion and the rose."
"Henri," aniya. "Henri Percival Slade."
In Olympus Academy, the first and only school to house Filipino demigods and mythological creatures, students are divided into four classes: Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Omega.
Carrying one of the titles comes with great responsibility, especially to Reign, a girl who continues to live through the privilege and burden of being an Omega.
All eyes are on her class as a new student arrives, bearing a legend that many do not believe and some, refuse to.
Reign decides to dive deep into the legends of Olympus Academy, in efforts to understand their new member, and eventually she will.
She will come to know two cruel truths about their very existence:
Mythological creatures like her are being hunted for power.
And as for the demigods who belong to the same class as her, they were a consequence, a threat, an ultimatum of what was once destined.
To be the hunted or become the hunters? To be the protectors or become the protected?
The Omegas need to make a choice.
But being descendants of the original Omegas, demigods who defeated gods, titans, and even overcame Chaos, the first deity to ever exist in mythology...
They know they're just as powerful to choose another option that's not given:
Become no one but themselves.
