Chapter 9 First battle.

The leaders of the Horde stood in the middle of the square and addressed the people. The dinosaurs gathered in a circle and prepared to listen to the King of the Horde's speech.

- My brethren. Today we will have a special gladiatorial show: in addition to our captive Quilboars, Taurens and murlocs, aliens from the Flying Island will participate in the battles. Today we will find out how strong they are and whether they have enough strength to withstand the champions of the arena. - Tyranors reported, receiving in response the jubilation of his army. - After this show, we will go to their villages and finally capture them completely.

The dinosaurs cheered at the speech of the Leader of the Wild Horde. Tyranors has always led them to victory, and now they are confident that the strongholds of the three small nations will fall.

- Get back to work. As soon as the show starts, a speaker will appear and announce the beginning of the battles. - added the Leader of the Wild Horde.

The dinosaurs cheered once more and went back to work. The heroes, on the other hand, walked to the semicircular arena in formation behind Tyrank and sometimes looked back, hearing some of the words from Tyranors' speech.

- Come on! - One of the Tyrannosaurs nudged Rogon angrily.

- Where are they taking us? - asked Cragger.

- To some arena of gladiators. - answered Tormak. - But I don't know who they are.

- I hope this is something peaceful and even expensive. - Razar hoped.

- Fewer words, move your legs more. - Tyrank turned to them, going forward and pulling the chain in his direction.

- We need to come up with an escape plan and very quickly. - reported Eris. - I don't like all this.

- I agree. We'll think about everything inside when they are gone. - Said Worriz.

The Tyrannosaurus warriors pushed the heroes forward, telling them to go faster. Tyrank walked in front until he stopped in front of the gate to the arena. The grate was lifted, and a Spinosaurus came out to him in a white robe, stained with blood, and gold patterns on it. He smiled politely and looked at the Tyrannosaurus.

- Tyrank. - Spinosaurus rejoiced and hugged him. - I'm glad to see you. I see you brought new fighters for me? Where are they from?

- These are the aliens from the Flying Island, Spinart. - answered Tyrank, looking at the heroes. - We tried to find out from them about the passage to the Island, but they refused to answer, and the Leaders ordered to take them to you. Prepare them for battle, give them uniforms.

- Well. Lead them inside. I will give them cameras where they will live. Let's see what they are capable of. - answered Spinart, examining the heroes.

Spinosaurus went back to the arena. Tyrank followed, leading the heroes forward, while the warriors from behind nudged them. The arena itself resembled a huge circular structure with stands for spectators and a battlefield. From above, it is covered with an iron mesh so that the prisoners cannot fly out of the arena. From the holes, the rays of the scorching sun fell into the arena.

After passing the semicircle of the arena, the spinosaurus ordered two guards to open the gates to the dungeon, connected by tunnels leading to all the cells. In the dungeon there were creatures incomprehensible to the heroes: some looked like wild boars, only with needles on their backs, the latter looked more like bulls with large horns. Each was dressed in armor and had battle marks. They looked at the heroes and rejoiced with joy.

- Fresh meat has come. - said one of the horned.

- More like cannon fodder. They won't stand even two rounds against us. I'm not talking about champions either. - said the boar with needles.

- Nobody here gave you the right to speak. - said one of the horned.

- Like you, bull. - the boar grinned.

- Do you want to go one-on-one? Come on, I don't mind. - The horned one answered viciously.

Both interlocutors were angry and were about to fight each other when they were stopped by a sharp blow of a hammer on the ground. Both gladiators looked towards Carnotaurus holding a hammer. His name is Carnas and he is the warden of the dungeon.

- Both shut up. - Carnas turned loudly to two. - You will take out your rage in the arena, but for now wait your turn.

Both captives, whose names are Quiler and Taures, stopped fighting between themselves and looked at the arriving heroes. Carnas looked at Spinart, Tyrank and his captives with a surprised look.

- New fighters? - asked Carnotaurus, examining them. - Where did you dig them up?

- They came from the Flying Island. Tyrexor's squad brought them to the Leaders. They wanted to know about the location of the passage upstairs, but the strangers said nothing. So we brought them to you. - said Tyrank and looked at the heroes. - Maybe gladiatorial fights will make them more talkative.

- Okay. Let's check what they are capable of, but for now, we'll take them to their cells. - Carnas said, taking the keys.

Spinart and Tyrank followed him. The heroes followed, and the warriors pushed them. Reaching a semicircle with four cells for prisoners. The dinosaurs removed the handcuffs from them, opened the bars and divided them into thirds: Icebite, Bladvic and Worriz were in the first cell, Gorzan, Rogon and Mottrot were put in the second, Razar, VoomVoom and Vornon got the third, and Tormak, Eris and Cragger were thrown into the last ... Tormak ran to the grate and took hold of the bars.

- Where is my daughter? - He asked angrily and began to threaten. - If you don't tell me, I'll get out and rip off your tails.

Tyrank in response drew his sword and offered his throat Tunnel Cat. Tormak saw in his eyes the rage he felt for the tiger.

- Think you can rip off my tail? - Tyrank grinned. - I'd rather make a meatloaf out of you, and use your skin for a cloak. The best thing is to be silent and do not threaten us.

The Tyrannosaurus commander removed the blade from the tiger's throat and sheathed it back.

- Prepare them. Give them armor, and after a few performances, send them to the arena. Let them fight the rest and themselves. If necessary, release the champions. - Tyrank turned to Spinart and Carnas.

- Okay. - answered Spinart.

The Tyrannosaur commander headed for the exit from the dungeon. Spinart and Carnas went ahead, and the dinosaur warriors followed. A few minutes later, the dinosaurs disappeared from the sight of the heroes and prisoners of gladiators.

- Hey, cannon fodder. Get ready to die. - Quiler turned to the heroes. - You can't stand against me - Quiler. The most formidable of all Quilboar.

- Are you the most formidable? Well, well - Taures laughed. - Rather the most cowardly and ugly.

- Let's see this when I rip out your horns and make a helmet out of your skull for me. - Quilboar grinned viciously.

- Do not even hope. My horns will remain with me, but from your fangs and needles I will make necklaces and spears. - Taures replied sharply.

The quarrel between the Quilboars and the Taurens lasted ten minutes. The Heroes of Chima pondered further actions and wanted to reconcile the two clans of warriors, but they did not listen and continued the skirmish. Loud footsteps were immediately heard emanating from the western corridor. There was an angry growl and the grinding of metal.

- Well, everyone shut up. Let us sleep, otherwise we'll rip your heads off right now. - threatened a spiteful loud voice.

The heroes were surprised at him, especially at his owner. Quilboars and Taurens immediately fell silent and did not swear, so as not to anger the owners of the steps.

- Who are you? - Cragger turned to the owner of the voice.

- You will see our faces only when you get to the fight with the champions. - declared the second voice.

Captive Quilboars and Taurens approached the heroes.

- These are the undefeated champions of the entire arena: Tyrander and Caynar. Nobody can defeat them. Nobody succeeded. - began the story of one of the Quilboars by the name of Quinor.

- Exactly - undefeated. - said Tyrander. - So shut your mouths on the lock, otherwise we will tear off your tongues.

Everyone immediately fell silent. The heroes somehow began to talk in whispers, so as not to disturb the champions.

- Is there any escape plan? - Razar asked. - I do not want to be a fighter in the arena, since it is more profitable for me to sell the paraphernalia of warriors.

- Hush, Razar. We need to think. - said Cragger and suggested. - The best thing is to wait for us to be taken to the armory, where we will be given weapons and armor. Then it will be possible to escape.

- Excellent plan. But I think that we will be watched or locked up in some closet until one of us is called. - said Tormak.

- That's right. - Quinor cut in. - You will be locked in several storage rooms overlooking the arena and will be opened when it comes someone's turn. Many tried to get out of here, but there was no way out: either execution, or immediately a fight with the champions.

Heroes of Chima were horrified by this information. They were scared to think about such consequences. Even after five minutes, the heroes could not think of anything and began to go about their business: train, communicate and wait for gladiatorial battles.

At the same time Spinart and Carnas conducted Tyrank to the Leader and went to organize the show and prepare weapons for fighters.

It's time to start fighting. Dinosaurs began to take their places and waited for the start of the show. Everyone took snacks and drinks with them for a good time. The Dinosaur Leaders took up special places located in the middle of the stands, with a roof and a balcony. Inside there were thrones for each leader, and around there were guards and guarded the leaders.

- We hope that the aliens will prove themselves worthy warriors. I have put some coins on them and I do not want to lose them. - said Pterix, putting the bag in his pocket.

- It is important for me now that they split up and tell us about the Golden Bridge. - Tyranors replied.

- Against Tyrander and Caynar, they definitely will not withstand. - Carnamus said.

The tribe began to gather and wait for the spectacle. Everyone was waiting for something new in the battles.

At the same time Spinart Carnas and prepared fighters for bouts. Each was assigned a room and an armory with weapons for battle. An armor with a plate on one shoulder hung on a stand. The heroes put them on and armed themselves with whatever they were.

It was possible to leave the pantry, since the warden of the prison made it so that the pantries are located in one wing and have only one passage through the grate that he closes, so Cragger began to walk here and there, considering a plan of action. Quiler immediately came out of the other room and began to approach Cragger.

- Look: the cannon fodder has come out on its own and begs to be thrashed. Let me practice on you, so that later it would be easier to defeat the rest and even the champions? - Quiler asked ominously.

Immediately one of the Tauren, who calls himself Taubos, stood in his way. He stepped between them and gave Quiler a hateful look.

- Carnas said to take out his rage in the arena, not here. We don't need extra blood, we need freedom. - declared Taubos.

- You need freedom, and I need battles. For me, this is above all now. - Quiler said. - So don't stand in my way. You will lose your horns.

Quilboar went to his pantry to prepare for battle. Taubos also looked at Cragger and the rest of the heroes who approached.

- Thank you for standing up for me. - thanked Cragger.

- I'm glad that at least I helped someone. This place changes the essence of beast, making them wild and cruel. - said Taubos.

- You help us escape? - Razar asked.

- Maybe but not now. Too many people. - Tauren replied. - We must wait for the night, but for now simulate the escape.

- We agree. - everyone said.

Everyone went to their rooms and waited for the start of the fighting. A minute later, Carnas came up and opened the grate.

- All to the exit and follow me. - He ordered in a dry tone.

The fighters armed themselves and headed for the Carnotaurs to the passage to the arena.

The audience loudly rejoiced at the upcoming start of the battles. They inspired dinosaurs to fight for their people, sparing no effort. The leaders watched their joy and began to prepare for their speech. Nearby stood a gong.

- Carnamus. Please. - asked the Leader of the Wild Horde.

The leader of the Carnotaurs took up a war hammer and struck the gong twice, silencing the people. Tyranors rose from the throne and stepped out of the shadows, thanks to his brethren.

- My people. I put a lot of energy into you, inspired you to fight and seize lands for our prosperity. We have gone through a lot, fought with many, and I, knowing your fatigue, with the rest of the leaders of the Horde came up with these battles for fun and entertainment. Our captives kill each other for our amusement, and this inspires us to fight even more. And today there will be a special battle: as I said today, aliens from the Flying Island will participate in the battles. Let's see if they have enough strength to resist the prisoners and to withstand the champions. - The Leader of the Wild Horde finished his speech and exulted. - Let the battles begin! And may the strongest win!

The dinosaurs supported Tyranors with their jubilation and eagerly awaited the start of the fighting. The heroes watched this with horror: they had never seen such evil and aggressive clans. Eris was the one who was most afraid, and this was noticed by Quiler.

- What is it, birdie? Afraid to stain your feathers with fresh blood? I will stretch them and make myself a cloak right after you die. - Quilboars said ominously and laughed like a madman. A group of three Quilboars supported him with laughter: Qualborough, Quirin and Quarhis. The other two, Quans and Queers, just stood and looked regretfully at the eagle, continuing to sharpen their axes.

- Leave her alone, needle boar. She is scared, and you put pressure on all of us. - declared Tormak, keeping himself in hand from beating Quiler.

Loud footsteps were heard again. The heroes felt that the steps were coming from the next room, where the champions were now waiting in the wings.

Carnas and Spinart approached the fighters, holding weapons in their hands.

- So. - began a spinosaurus in a white robe and continued. - Today's battles will be arranged differently: the aliens will fight against the Quilboars and Taurens. The winners get a chance to fight against the champions, the losers are finished off. Everyone clear?

- Yes. - Said the Quilboars and the Taurens. The heroes responded as well.

- Then go ahead. - said Spinart. - The weapon will be waiting for you in the arena.

The bars opened and the fighters entered the arena. The dinosaurs were jubilant at the upcoming show and supported their favorite fighters. The heroes went to the middle of the arena and heard a sharp blow on the grate with their fist. The champions looked at them in anticipation of a future battle.

- Warriors! - Tyranors turned to the fighters. - Today you have a chance to prove yourself, show your strength and endurance. The winners will get a chance to fight the champions, while the losers will die.

Dinosaurs cheered in the stands and waited for the spectacle to begin. The heroes looked at all this with disgust and incomprehension in their eyes.

- They behave like savages, eternally thirsty for blood and spectacle. - made the verdict Tormak, taking a pair of blades. - They are worse than the Hunters.

- Well, thanks for the verdict. - Mottrot turned to the tiger and took the hammer.

Worriz chose two sharp swords as his weapon, Eris and Razar grabbed axes with two blades. Rogon and Gorzan armed themselves with hammers. The vultures took a blade. Bladvic and Icebite were unarmed. Cragger grabbed a spear. Taurens and Quilboars armed themselves with axes and clubs. The champions continued to beat the bars with their fists, frightening the heroes with this.

- Let the duel begin! - in all a joyful voice said the Leader of the Wild Horde.

Racks of weapons were removed to the side. Quilboars looked viciously at the heroes and Taurens. The Taurens only looked viciously at the Quilboars. The heroes looked at each one with suspicion.

Quiler was the first to attack. He swung his ax towards Cragger, as the Crocodile Prince immediately repulsed his attack with a spear. Tormak ran to the crocodile to help and took the Quilboars over himself, while Cragger ran to the others. Qualborough, Quirin, and Quarhis fought the others: the first took over Eris and Razar, the second fought Cragger and Worriz, and the third fought Rogon and Gorzan. The Taurens and a couple of Quilboars decided to go against the team and sided with the heroes.

Quiler swung deftly with an ax and quickly attacked the tiger. Tormak parried his every attack, but missed one and received a scar on his stomach. Despite the wound, the cave cat continued to defend itself and quickly attacked the enemy, swinging its blades. The blades grazed Quiler's stomach and chest. Bleeding faintly from there, and Quilboars fell to his knees to catch his breath. Qualborough was also unlucky: he swung towards Eris, but she deflected the attack and attacked herself. Razar attacked behind Quilboars, leaving a long scar on its back, while the eagle continued to attack and deflect attacks. Taubos came to the aid of the heroes and with a powerful blow of the club threw Qualborough aside. Two tauren named Taurbas and Tauvrot aided Cragger and Worriz in the battle against Quirin. The wolf and the crocodile deflected the Quilboars attacks and attacked it, brandishing their weapons. The tauren struck Quirin with clubs, and he flew several meters away. The last enemy Quilboars was quickly pushed to the ground by the heroes.

Quiler was on his knees, breathing hard, and staring out at the battlefield.

- It's... impossible. - said Quilboar. - No one else could win and go against the Warriors of the Horde.

- We did not come here for the war, but to help our friend find his mother. - said Cragger.

The dinosaurs stared at the arena and resented the quickly ended battle. They were expecting to finish off the losers, but it was not, and began to be indignant. The Leaders of the Dinosaurs saw all this and began to think.

- The tribes are outraged by such a short show. Need to do something. - Said Velratos.

Spinart stood nearby and waited for an order from the Leaders. Tyranors called him over to his.

- Release Tyrander and Caynar. - ordered the Leader of the Wild Horde. - The show is just beginning.

Spinart nodded and ran to the guards. Tyranors stepped out of the shadows and addressed the people.

- My friends! Sorry the show was so short, but that was just an intro. Now the foundation itself will begin. The aliens showed themselves in battle, so now they will get a chance - here the Tyrannosaur Leader paused. - to the battle with the champions.

The audience was surprised by this and immediately cheered. Tyrander and Сaynar were still hitting the bars with their fists, wanting to enter the arena. The heroes and their new allies were frightened by all this joy. Spinart ordered the guards to raise the bars and release the champions. The grate began to rise, and there was an angry growl and a crash of the earth. The champions headed for the exit and stepped out into the light. Both were holding in their hands a powerful club with a sharp end.

The heroes saw their appearance: both are giants the size of Mungus. One of them is Tyrannosaurus and the other is Carnotaurus. They looked at the heroes with malice and joy.

- Finally, newcomers to the arena. We are tired of beating up those Quilboars and Taurens. - Tyrander said ominously.

- We're glad you joined us, it's so boring. - supported Caynar.

The heroes looked at the giants, horrified by their size.

- If my brother had been here, the chances would have been equal. - said Mottrot.

- Let's try without him. - said Cragger.

The heroes put up their weapons and prepared for the battle with the giants. The champions themselves only grinned viciously and held tightly to their spiked clubs. The dinosaurs were in anticipation of the future show and made bets among themselves, betting on the champions. The leaders of the Dinosaurs hoped that Tyrander and Caynar would break the heroes and they would tell about the Golden Bridge.
