I was always hoping Taotie would get a redemption arc right off the bat, or have some reconciliation with Shifu, because I totally understood him. This is someone who tried to do kung fu but failed, and so decided to make up for his weaknesses with what he knew best and was immediately kicked out. I feel like he's like Po. Maybe there was a different way to train him. Or maybe he could have found a profession that really highlighted what he was good at. So many maybes, but no conclusion. Or at least not from what I've seen....maybe he had one in an episode I missed.
