Scarlett's P.O.V

Tails was jumping around as I was writing in my book. I decided to write a bit more as to keep my intelligence at a normal rate for me. I looked at Tails. He began to talk again.

"I can't believe it! Sonic & Mystery are alive! I think I've used up my wishes for the rest of my life! But it's worth it."

"Tails...I know you're being optimistic, but what I heard was that they fought those...traitors again. They may be alive...but what if they're hurt?" I asked. I was being a realist. Not a pessimist. He looked at me for a while and then he told me,

"Whatever condition they're in, we have to find them and tell them about Eggman's plan. Whatever his plan is."

"I have to agree, my two-tailed Brainiac. From what I heard, Eggman said something about Sonic & Mystery being in Mystic Jungle. So we should head there and see what happened."

We all nodded.

(Y/n)'s P.O.V

I was looking around and looked at Sarah a few times. She kept clutching her arm as well as Sonic. Not in pain but it seemed to irritate the pair of them. If only Scarlett was here. Maybe she'd know why they are doing that. 

I was just drinking some water I found in the stores whilst...collecting my thoughts. I was pretty drained.

I was going to say something but then Harper & Rouge contacted the base.

"The system is picking up four strange signals," Rouge said as she let Harper continue.

"Indeed. They're coming from the laboratory. The one where Sonic & Mystery fought Infinite & Romeo."

"It's probably another one of Eggman's robots!" Silver yelled and Petra groaned. Being in a war for 6 months will do that to a person. Make their temper shorter.

"I can't believe this man!" She yelled, but before she could yell anymore, Harper cut her off.

"Petra...they're LIFE readings. Four of them. Definitely not robots."

"Oh...life readings? Who else could be out there apart from any straggling citizens?" Jesse asked as he clutched his leg a bit. "Wait...this is the jungle. Who'd be out there at all?" He added as Lukas was patching him up. He had went on a solo mission to find Romeo and fight him...but it didn't go as planned as he got his leg busted up, leaving him unable to tag along for a while.

"Hey rookies." Knuckles asked Nora and me. Looking at us with serious confidence. "Go to the lab and check it out!"

"Will do, come on Nora, buddy! Let's go see what's up in the jungle."

We raced off with our wispons. She had a lighting one and I still had my burst wispon. I liked playing with fire. We also had our wristbands with wire hooks when we need them. 

We raced to another entrance into the jungle, in case Eggman was preparing a trap. And surprise surprise... It was filled with water slides. Which are fun...but god they can be annoying when enemies are tring to attack you.

"We've picked up the four life readings in the lab up ahead." Raven said as we raced through.

"If they aren't robots. then what are they?" Olivia asked with a hint of concern in her voice. Since we were a tad bit rusty...she didn't want us dead.

"If they're enemies, taking them all on might be a big ask for the rookies."

"Come on! (Y/n) has defeated things FAR worse than Eggman's lackies." Jesse added to Silver's comment. Which was slightly flattering. We raced to a water slide.

"Watch out! The current is pretty strong! This place is enough to make anyone dizzy. It might be better to just go with the flow." Amy added as we flew down. It was making us increase our speed. 

I wasn't liking it. 

One false move and we'd be flying out the half-pipe slide. We then bounced out using the springs at the end of the slide and wired our way to solid ground and Raven spoke up again.

"They sure went to a lot of trouble to make this lab hard to find."

"They must be doing experiments that they don't want people to know about." Knuckles added onto Raven's comment. I could hear Sarah groan.

"Please don't bring up the word experiment again! Just hearing it makes my arm itch! And I don't want to get PTSD like Raven did over a computer I made a while back!"

"HEY! Don't judge me for getting PTSD as I nearly got my eye sliced into by my own sister!"

"I was under the control of that thing! Give me a break, sis!"

"GUYS! Less arguring in my earpiece and more focusing on the task at hand, please!" I yelled.

They stayed silent after that for the rest of the mission. I was glad...personal issues can be dealt with AFTER the war is won.

We then landed into a giant slide which split in three. Causing the pair of us to split up. But not before Knuckles said this...

"Well, look at you rookies! Having fun in the water?"

"What? Jealous you can't play on the slide, Knuckles?" Amy asked.

"This is no time to lose focus, that's all! Uh, be sure to give it your all, rookies!" 

We then got even closer.

"The readings are super close. Reinforcements will meet up soon, so meet up with them!"

As we got to the lab...we noticed two gems on the ground a couple feet away from us. We each picked one up and they began to glow. Then we placed them in our bags we had hidden under our clothes. 

Then...I looked in the bushes. And saw two more things. They were too small to be people. I rummaged in the bushes and saw...no...it, it can't be...

The communicators...that I thought they left them behind. 

I looked on the back of Romeo's...it still had the picture on it. I slowly walked to Nora with the communicators and she took her friend's one out of my hand. She growled a bit and then she pointed at mine, wanting to know what I was looking at. I showed her the picture.

It was of me, her, Romeo & our other friend. His name...was Nil.

We became good mates after this one encounter on the beach and had many adventures, kind of like Sonic and Tails but we didn't save the world. 

We...just explored it...but that night when I went with them to the lab and...ugh...I forgot the hegdehog's name. It wasn't Sonic. It looked nothing like him. As soon as he came...he beat the other two up and was about to beat me to a pulp too...

All I said to him was I had no idea what he meant by Eggman's forces just being weaker. He looked angered and I ran off.

I shouldn't have run off. Why did I run off?!

I was brought out of my thoughts by Nora who signalled she could hear someone. As if on cue, two tiny blue & orange hedgehogs came racing to us...followed by a fox with two tails.

"Have we met before?" the fox asked me. Then I recognised him. It was Tails. I saw him back at the interstellar amusement park. I was only there for a flash before I fled the scene as I was looking for Romeo and nothing else.

"Tails? It's really you?" I asked. "It's been a while since I've seen you," I told him as...Scarlett walked to me.

"(Y/n)...you met Tails before? The only time we saw a glimpse of you was back on...the.."

"You thought that was an illusion, didn't you?" I asked. They both nodded. I sighed. "Well it wasn't. " I concluded.

"Anyway...what are you guys doing here? Sonic & Mystery are alive and well back at the resistance base!" Then the little blue hegdehog spun around and danced a bit. Maybe he was really happy.

"They are! Ha! I knew it! Eat that one, Scarlett!"

"Alright, you win this one Tails...but I have to ask. What happened to Sa--I mean Mystery?""

"Uh...well..."

Time Skip

"SONIC!" Tails yelled as the doors opened. Scarlett tackle hugged Sarah as well.

"Tails! Scarlett!"

"We were so worried! I thought you were..."

"You two worry too much," Sonic said and paused for a bit. "Look, we're perfectly fine...apart from visual changes." He pointed to Sarah and Scarlett gasped a bit.

"I knew it..." She said to herself. Sarah then looked at the two little hedgehogs and she said,

"Huh. It's been generations since we've seen you two. You guys okay?"

They both nodded and the blue one did a thumbs up.

"The good news is you're safe. Well...mostly." Scarlett said as she looked at Sarah with concern.

"The bad news is Eggman said he had some plan that would destroy us all in three days!" Tails added. I growled. But Sonic ignored it.

"Three days, huh? Well a lot can happen in that time." He told us all. Jesse just looked at me with concern.

"(Y/n)...what's up with you?" Jesse asked. 

"What's UP with me? What's UP?! Look at us! You tried to take Romeo on your own and you have a broken leg which I could easily fix. If I have to fight him on my own, what do you think would happen to me, huh?"

Everyone stayed silent. Lukas walked up to me.

"(Y/n)...we know this is tough...but we've pulled through worse...right?"

The entire Order nodded. I sighed.

"Ugh...you're right, my bumblebee. Of course, you are..." I paused. "Look...I just feel like this war with Romeo on his side...it gives me a sort of...itch."

Lukas was about to ask where it itches but I continued with "Not an actual itch, hon. A mental one. It's my fault that they ended up on Eggman's team. I ran away when they needed help. I was a coward when I should have saved them. Then none of this would ever have happened."

"But if it didn't happen...we would have everyone here, right? We'd all still be looking for each other." Radar added. I chuckled.

"Huh...I guess you're right there." Petra added on.

"Don't blame yourself. We'll get through this. As a team. As a family." Lukas said.

Let's just say that gave me hope.

I am so happy to have a family like the Order of The Stone.
