Twenty-Seven
Second Year,
Kiss for Good Luck.
She wasn't any closer to figuring out who her secret admirer might be, she thought their handwriting might have been a giveaway. However, they seemed to have used a charm to write the little note. She would often open the note to read it. Rhea, when you walk in my heart beats differently. The note always put a smile on her face. Someone found her so enchanting their heart beats differently when she walked into a room.
To have that effect on someone made her question if they even knew her. Surely their opinion would change if they truly knew her. Her attitude was usually the most off-putting part, people didn't see that unless they got under her skin. She had questioned Fred and George if they had seen anyone give her the card.
She found herself kneeling by the fire, aimlessly staring into the fireplace, she wished the secret admirer would reveal themselves. Even if it was only to ask for the recipe for the custard creams, or ask what she did that caught their attention anyway.
"Still trying to find out who you're secret admirer is?" Fred spoke, sitting on the sofa behind her, she stood up sitting beside him, entwining her fingers with his.
"Yes, still no luck, they're pretty smart though,"
"How so?"
"They used a self-writing quill or charm," she sighed, "I can't even tell with their handwriting,"
"Is there anyone you like in general?" he asked, she turned around, it was just them in the common room, George hadn't come downstairs yet.
"I mean, I've liked Jack for a long while, he did kiss my cheek, over Christmas, but people at school, can't say anyone, in particular, has caught my eye, I'm always with you and George anyway, I wouldn't notice if someone noticed me, have you noticed anyone that might be interested in me?"
"Can't say I have,"
"It's fine, I just wanted their recipe for the biscuits, they were to die for,"
"Really, they were that good?" he said smirking at her "who knew food was the way to your heart Rhea Black,"
"Hey, if someone can bake me sweet treats, I'll date them in a heartbeat,"
"Come on you two, I've been waiting," George said hurrying out of the common room,
Fred moved his hand from hers as they ran after George to the Quidditch practice Oliver wanted to cram as many practice sessions as they could before exams became everyone's top priority. She was surprised to see Ethan in his quidditch kit, she questioned which one of the girls would sit out while he practised a little.
"Kiss for good luck?" she spoke, as usual before practice.
"Actually, Rhea I thought Ethan might have told you, I wanted you to sit out of this one," Oliver told her, she looked at Ethan he looked down at the ground averting her stare.
"He didn't tell me," she took her elbow and knee pads off, changing into her regular clothes.
She walked up to the stands, watching as they played, she noted that everyone but Ethan and Oliver didn't play to their best. She smiled at Lee as he joined her in the stands, she shuffled closer to him, as they watched their house practice.
"How come you aren't playing?" he asked.
"Wood clearly wants Ethan to practice so he's benched me," she crossed her arms.
"You were probably the stronger chaser, besides it doesn't look like they're playing well," he said assessing their movements "did you give them a kiss for good luck?"
"How do you know about that?"
"Alicia told me, it's what you do," she nodded, "maybe it's a superstition, they play badly if you don't kiss them good luck," he teased.
"Har, har, very funny," Rhea shook her head at him, "it would be fun to mess with Wood about that wouldn't it?" Lee nodded knowing exactly where her devilish mind was drifting to.
"I might propose the idea to him, I'd love to see his reaction to the next game,"

Gryffindor's next game was against Hufflepuff, Rhea's most excited about playing against Laura however just like practice she would be sitting out of this game. She stayed with her team before heading to the stands, as Oliver finished his speech Rhea attempted to leave.
"Don't we get a kiss for good luck?" Wood asked she smirked 'Oh Lee, why'd you taunt him,'
"Yes," as they walked past her to leave she pecked each of them on the cheek, to her surprise Fred let her kiss his cheek. "GOOD LUCK!" she shouted as she quickly ran to the stands. She spotted Lee smiling at her, she shook her head unable to contain her smile.
"What are you smiling at?" Phoebe questioned,
"Nothing, I'm happy Ethan gets to play against Laura,"
"Yes, she's been looking forward to it for a while now," her smile fell she knew that Phoebe often stayed in the Hufflepuff Common Room with Laura and Cedric. Rhea didn't know Laura had been excited about playing against her brother.
"Would you want to stay in my dorm with me?" she asked, unsure if Phoebe would say yes.
"You sure, I don't really know your friends."
"Well, it'll be a good chance to get to know them, wouldn't it?"
"Is it okay if Laura comes too?"
"Yes it'd be great to hang out with you both, I know we kind of drifted away recently, but you're my sister, and I love you, you can always talk to me, I hope you know that,"
"I do know that Ri, it's just I get myself into a good place and I often forget there are others around, so I apologise if I haven't seen you, Laura or Ethan as much,"
"No I get it, I've not known how to approach you after New Year," she paused when Phoebe tensed up, "Sorry, I don't mean to bring it up it's just, everyone so worried about you,"
"I appreciate it, Rhea, I just want to forget I ever saw that vision, it would probably take my mind off it, spending some time with you,"
