Thirty-Three

Third Year,
Gryffindor or Slytherin.

Rhea snuck out of the house, with the intention of asking Jack to come to the station with her. She waited patiently as she knocked on the door, his mother greeted her with a smile, inviting her into the house, she left her trunk outside.

As Jack came downstairs, he wrapped his arms around her, watching his mother as she walked into their kitchen when he saw that his mother couldn't see them. He leaned down to kiss her, she smiled, chuckling as he pulled away.

"Why do you have to go today school doesn't start till tomorrow?" he questioned

"It's the only day the train runs," he nodded, she smiled "You could always come with me to the station," he cringed,

"I would but, I kind of had plans today,"

"Oh, with Elle?"

"No," he said unconvincingly, "with Josh,"

"Oh okay, well I should get going, I'm not sure if I'm going to be home for Christmas I'll let you know if I am though,"

"Yeah, have a good trip," she nodded leaning up to kiss him one last before she grabbed her trunk hurrying to join her family as they set off for the train station.

When she reached the Station, she found Fred and George quickly they made themselves comfortable on the train. She smiled as her brother's found an empty compartment with Harry and Ron. Hopefully, the three boys would end up in the same house, she'd hate for Carden, Hadrian and Harry to be separated.

Rhea sat at the Gryffindor table. Ethan opted to sit with her, to welcome his cousins should they be sorted into Gryffindor. They smiled waving at the boys as they walked past them through the great hall, Rhea chuckled as they gazed up at the night sky ceiling. She sat up as the sorting ceremony was to begin.

"Hermione Granger," a girl walked up the stool, the hat didn't wait long before roaring

"GRYFFINDOR!" Rhea clapped welcoming the girl as she sat down.

"Draco Malfoy," she already knew where the boy would be placed. Slytherin like his parents. Harry had been sorted into Gryffindor, he greeted Rhea with a hug as he sat down.

"Carden Black," she smiled knowing exactly where he would be placed, already shuffling down so he had a spot to sit next to her.

"GRYFFINDOR!" she whistled as her brother came sitting beside her, the pair watched as the next student was called up.

"Hadrian Black," she held Carden's hand they both had confident smiles, Rhea had never prayed for Phoebe to be wrong, she didn't want her to be right about this. The hat took its time deciding Hadrian's house, she grew more concerned the longer the hat sat on his head.

"SLYTHERIN!"

He didn't move, he glanced over to her and Carden, they offered him a smile, as he walked over to the opposite side of the hall to the Slytherin table. Carden shook his head she and Ethan looked over Phoebe, she placed her hand on his shoulder, most likely offering him some reassurance.

"No, this can't be happening we're suppose to stay together," Carden said, Rhea rubbed his arm,

"Is he alright?" she and Ethan mouthed to Phoebe, and she nodded. Rhea held conversations with some of the new first years, Fred and George's brother Ron, Neville, Harry, and two muggle-borns Dean and Hermione.

"I'm half and half, dad's a muggle mam's a witch, a bit of a nasty shock for him when he found out," she heard an irish boy, Finnegan she believe his name was.

Carden tried to seem interested he moved around the food with his fork, he kept glancing in Hadrian's direction. When she looked towards him, he had his back to them, however, she could still tell that he was too not interested in eating his food.

"You should eat something?" she told him,

"I'm not hungry," she scoffed.

"You were talking this morning about how much you couldn't wait for dinner,"

"Yeah, well things change,"

"You'll still see him, I still see Phoebe, Ethan still sees Laura,"

"No we won't, Dad and Uncle Reg didn't talk when they were at school, they only did because of mum," Rhea had a smirk on her face.

"Maybe you just need a Slytherin girlfriend then,"

"Never going to happen." she chuckled.

As the Gryffindor Prefect, Percy Weasley, escort the first-year Gryffindors to their dormitory. Fred and George sat with Rhea she confided in them, about her worry for Hadrian. She didn't go into detail about Phoebe's vision, only that she was worried he'd have horrid friends or be bullied for his whole family being in different houses from him.

Rhea lounged on her bed looking up at the ceiling, she twirled her wand around. She was positive that Carden would still see his brother, she didn't want to believe that the two close brothers would fall into the same pattern as their father did. They were better than that.

"Rhea?"

"Hmm, What?" said questioned after Angelina had to repeat herself

"Did you hear what Wood was saying? We don't have a seeker this year, it's the hardest position to find a player for,"

"Oh, we won't be able to play if we can't find a seeker,"

"Yeah, I told him, Alicia and I would keep a lookout for anyone who might be a good fit,"

"I'll help too, I wouldn't want to play without a seeker,"

A great start to the year, without a seeker there would be no way for them to win one quidditch game. Of course, it was possible to win without catching the golden snitch, but very unlikely. They'd have to find a player good enough to have a chance to win the Quidditch cup.
