Part 11: Menacing Dreams
In the dream, I was on the golden temple in the city. I looked around, trying to figure out exactly why I was brought back here.
Suddenly, a portal ripped open through the air around it, blocking the light. The portal was red and black, and the colors blended together, but never stopped to form a solid color. It emitted an eerie, unearthly hue as a dark figure emerged from it.
Its voice boomed at me, "Who dares to cross paths with the God of Evil?"
"I'm not afraid of you!" I shouted at it. To be honest, I was indeed scared, much more, horrified. I was so scared that my knees buckled and my teeth chattered uncontrollably. My hands shook terribly.
The shadow came even closer, laughing mischievously. "You'll be afraid of me soon enough, weakling human." His laughter grew louder and more menacing as even more silhouettes appeared. One of them I did recognize; MissingNo, A Pokémon that can only get to earth through a portal, but can cause devastation to the entire universe. The shadows swallowed me, then the city, then, the region, then the entire world. "HAHAHAHA!! Are you scared of me now? I control you, along with the whole world!"
Then, suddenly, I started to glow a brilliant white. "Why do you think I'd be scared of you?"
"NOOOO!" The dark shadow shrieked. "I thought I'd killed you!" the shadow then retreated back into the portal, along with the others.
I realized that there was something glowing to my right. I looked over my shoulder, to discover another figure next to me. "Jacob! Jacob, wake up!" it urged me.
I woke up from the perplexing dream to see that Mark was standing over me. "Are you okay? You were talking jibberish. It sounded like some sort of language."
"Yeah... I'm fine. Just had a weird dream." But to be honest, I wasn't fine. I needed to forget about the dream... "What do you want to do?"
"Um, we can explore that temple again," Mark suggested. Was he reading my mind? Or was it a coincidence that I wanted to do that as well?
"Well, sure. Let's ask my mom." I said. We quickly changed and went downstairs, where mom was cooking breakfast, and dad - as usual - was at work.
Mark and I quickly sat at the table as she set fluffy, golden-brown buttermilk pancakes in front of us. I spread some butter on the pancake and then generously lathered it until the pancake was soaked with it. Just the way I like it. As I took a bite and began chewing, Mark got down to business as he layered his pancake with butter, which slowly melted. "Hey, Scarlett, is it okay if Jacob and I go exploring?"
"That's fine by me, as long as you come back by dinner time. Oh, make sure you pack a lunch with you, too!" She replied. With that, we scarfed down the rest of the breakfast, packed, then headed out the door, waving goodbye to my mom.

It had been a week since the Dark Order had come and killed Jirachi and Arceus. Now was the time to choose someone to replace them. The Justice
Trio chose who those people were while I kept time we had left, which was running low.
I, being the God of Time, could freeze time, but that does not affect Gods. If they don't get to the right place at the right time, then the Council of Gods will cease to exist. Darkness would reign over light. Chaos would rampage through the regions. The entire universe counted on these beings.
And then I saw them. There was something about them that was more than meets the eye, but I couldn't explain why. They were near. Yes, we will not be out of time!

Finally, after the long hike, we reached the hole that leads to the city. We crawled through the opening and entered the vast cave dwelling. We didn't know where to start, so we just headed to the middle of the room, where the temple stood.
We climbed to the top of it and looked around to see where to start. I leaned against the box on top of the altar when suddenly, a hand-shaped imprint sunk into the box. Then, the top of the box opened, and two smaller golden boxes appeared.
"What the?" Mark exclaimed, jumping back in surprise. "Um... What are these?"
"I don't know. Maybe they're meant for us, because We're the only ones here, and there are two." I said as I picked them up and handed one over to Mark. "What do they do?" It was rather mysterious. I moved the object around in my hand, looking for an indent or a button. None.
"Maybe we weren't - or should I say, aren't - the only people here. This could be a 'gift' from Team Thunder." Mark told me in a serious tone of voice.
"I don't think so," I said as I continued to observe the cube. I noticed that there was a side that slid down, revealing a button. "Aha! So there is a button. It's definitely not from Team Thunder if they hid it."
"I still don't trust them." Mark retorted, trying to snatch it from me. I quickly drew my hand back to prevent him from doing so.
"Whatever," I said, pressing the button. Instantly, I was blinded by a brilliant glow that seemed to be coming from me. I couldn't see anything that was happening, but I felt my body rise into the air. Then, everything went black. Should I have listened to Mark? Maybe.
