New Townsfolk
(Notes. " " means talking. ' ' means thinking or small uses.)
[I am a bit rusty and in need of practice when it comes to writing. Please give my story a chance...]
Jonas Blake; once a simple teen from the Big Apple, now stubbornly sits in the passenger seat of his father's large black GMC quad cab truck heading to their new home where his father thought the environment would do him good. With a heavy sigh, Jonas watched out the window as the foliage flew by. 'Sure is a lot of green around here' he thought to him self, used to more of a...constructed environment.
"Come on Jonas, at least give this p
lace a chance...you might end up liking it" said Mr. Blake; or Austin Blake, Jonas's father. Mr. Blake was a tall, built man. Short, well kept brown hair and lovely brown eyes. Smiling over at the glummy teen the father smiled before carefully reaching over and ruffling the already messy blonde hair. "Dad!" Hollered Jonas, swatting the hand away before 'fixing' his hair. Huffing Jonas looked at his father with a soft pout before crossing his arms over his chest. Unlike his father, Jonas took more after his mother. His frame and build was small and feminine like. His messy hair was blonde fading to pink as he wanted, some strands hanging down in his beautiful ice blue eyes. A trait passed down by his mother's ancestors.
As the truck drove on, a small town came into view, it held as many attractions, stores, and restaurants as only ten blocks of New York City. And there wasn't even a mall! Groaning loudly Jonas covered his eyes in disgust, while his father smiled big. "Wow...well I shouldn't worry about you getting lost or kidnapped in this town" he said over joyed as they drove into the small town.
It was made up of a couple long roads, small shots owned by many who lived there and companies lining the walkways. "Look, an ice cream shop" said Mr. Blake as he pointed out the window to the left. Jonas peeked over, examining the small shop with a simple.group of people inside. However his attention was drawn to the weather around the store...it was snowing...in spring! Sitting up fast, he kept staring until he heard him father once more. "Wow they have a butcher here too!" Looking over quickly it didn't seem like much, at first until the boys eyes fell on the shops owner. Other then the strange way he looked at the meat, the twin fangs in his mouth are what caught Jonas's attention. Sitting back in the seat he thought about what he noticed, then...he looked around in general.
As their car drove by the other occupants of the town stared. And some of them didn't seem to welcoming. "Uh...dad" Jonas said softly watching the townsfolk. "Yeah?" His father answered waving to the people and saying hello. "I don't think these people are to welcoming....can't we just....find another town?" He asked softly. Chuckling his father ruffled his head once again, making the teen groan. "No, buddy. They are welcoming! Just nervous to have new people in town is all" he said. Jonas looked out the window, gulping lightly "I hope your right.." he said softly.
