When The Mighty Falls (Part 5 - Final)
A beam of light flashes onto the planet's surface. Malcolm, despite injuries, moves fast to reach his boss. He stood in waiting for him, "You look terrible."
"Thanks." Malcolm snaps, "I had them. Why did you call me?"
"We've picked up on the location. Go there and destroy the place. Keep Will on communications." Kent orders.
"You want me working with Will? You're joking right?" Malcolm inquires. Kent was about to retort, but Malcolm beats him to it and puts a hand up, "No nevermind, when do you ever joke about things?"
He walks off to find Will. Kent answers quietly, "I can joke, just not a lot."

The perfectionist of the group returned to her bedroom. Empty folders were spread out in order to neatly separate the information given. Luckily she previously set of part of this beforehand and had been halfway done. But, the task was not a fun one. A stressful sigh left her body while she continuously went through each sheet. As she was sorting, her hand landed on the first of all of the acceptance letters.
On top was the Harvard scholarship. They offered to pay for her first two years, including her dorm room and supplies. It was a pretty good deal and hard to pass up. Gia looked at the paper for a moment and then placed it to the side. That is when Stanford's scholarship showed its face in all of its glory. Alongside paying for the dorm and supplies, they offered extra perks such as recommendations for any major she chooses. This would allow plenty of opportunities for the young blonde to flourish in the career of her choice.
Setting it down on the same side as the first scholarship, Gia saw the next one in which she never told anyone about...Hempferd. The school, while not as well known as Harvard or Yale, did wonders for those who attended. Her scholarship to this college paid for all four years, dorm, food, supplies, and offered many majors for the students. The gpa required was at least 3.75, which was on the lower side of her college list. Nevertheless, this was a very good choice and the place had a positive reputation. Jake possibly attending alongside her became the added bonus.
Sighing once more, the yellow ranger put it with the other scholarships and continued on. Upon turning back to the pile, there were only five sheets left. She knew they were either acceptance letters or scholarships. Frustrated, Gia shoved all of them away and leaned her back up against the wall. Her stress levels grew and her head was beginning to hurt while she let out a groan. A beat or two later, her phone rang, prompting her to get up and walk over to check the caller ID. Taking her by surprise, she greets, "Hi mom."
"Hi hun, how are you? I haven't heard much from you since you moved out." Mrs. Moran queries.
"Oh I've been here, busy and what not." Gia replies.
"Your dad called me." Her mother informs her.
Gia's tone of voice did not match her face, "What a shocker."
"Not everyone is an A-lister all of the time. You did extremely well for someone your age." Mrs. Moran says, "He just..."
"I can see about re-taking them again. It's whatever." Gia assures her in a sigh.
"Are you okay G? You sound upset." Her mother notices.
"I'm okay mom. I'm just wondering on how to write my speech for graduation." Gia fibs to her.
"Sweetheart, I went there. They never tell you who's valedictorian until the day before, let alone make you write a speech." Her mother catches her bluff.
Gia pauses, "Well I mean, they changed it up. Things are different then when you went here and you know how-"
"Gia, breathe." Her mother cut her off, "What's wrong honey?"
Unbeknownst to the yellow ranger, her cracked door made a way for someone to be watching her in silence. Gia plopped onto the bed in despair, "Mom...I'm freaking out, I have so many people giving me things and providing me so much and if I choose one I'll be giving up another. Harvard offers a lot, Yale offers the same and more or whatever, Quinndale in two states away, and I don't even know if I can get a plane ticket to leave. The place is highly recommended, but if I don't get valedictorian, they'll probably deny my acceptance and change their minds."
"Gia-"
"If I don't do this right, everything will be for nothing mom! This whole thing of being a Power Ranger and college admissions a-and getting a job and all of it is so stressful! How in the world Peter Parker does it is beyond me!" The young blonde keeps venting, her voice cracking in the process.
"He's a fictional character honey...wait you're a Power Ranger?" Her mother picks up on. The person watching the perfectionist was about to intervene, but was beaten to it.
"Yes I'm a Power Ranger, it's why some of my interviews were pushed back and why I had them all lined up in the same week three months ago." Gia kept going, too upset to realize the words spilling out.
"Oh Gia..." Mrs. Moran cooed motherly.
"And I love dad but, he keeps putting so much pressure on me to be just like every other Moran in our family. I can't imagine what Jackson must be going through right now." Gia stops to catch her breath.
Her mother sighs and sits down on her couch, taking the time to get through to her daughter, "Gia, you have done great with everything thrown at you and have achieved so much more than anyone I know. You should be proud of everything you've accomplished, but don't tear yourself down if you don't do everything that's out there." The yellow ranger wiped a tear that fell from her eye and listened to her mom, "I love you honey, you. Not the things that you do...although doing community service and helping the soup kitchen is very admirable."
Gia chuckles a little at that, "This is on me too sweetie. I should've said something when I heard him constantly asking you about every assignment you do or what happened at your interviews. I see how this is effecting you, and I'm so sorry. You need to choose what you want to do. Don't rush and think that you have so little time for everything or that if you don't pick what your dad likes that you're a failure. Take your time and think things through, it'll be worth it when you do."
"Mom graduation is next week. I only have three months after that." Gia points out.
"Who said you had to go this fall? A lot of people take a year off to get a job and plan the next phase of their life. That brain of yours needs a break. The only thing I'll say is don't wait too long, but don't for a second believe that you're wasting your time when you're celebrating what you've done. I'm proud just calling you my daughter, so whatever you decide, I support you." Mrs. Moran advises and encourages.
Gia swallows quietly, nods, and retorts, "I love you mom."
"I love you too sweetheart." Her mother says with a warm smile.
The soon-to-be graduate takes a moment before hanging up. She sniffs, now seeing that she was crying, and wipes her tears. Her mind was more at ease than it had been and ber headache settled. With a shake of the head, she speaks, "You can come in."
The stalker squealed and Gia laughed as the door opened, "How did you know I was here?"
"You're bad at sneaking." Gia answers.
The pink ranger walks over to her bed and immediately embraces her best friend, who held onto her tight, "Why didn't you tell me?"
Gia lets go to admit, "Em, look at me. I have so many choices to make, I have a reputation to uphold for my family, I have to save the world, I have a boyfriend who I probably won't see after this summer, and I can't decide how to make them all end the same. Talking about it won't make everything fall into place."
"And nearly losing it will? Gia, why do you do this to yourself? You don't need to have a handle on everything at once, it'll work out the way it's supposed to." Emma says, "You're too hard on yourself, you'd do better if you just stopped and didn't worry everything."
"I have a legacy to continue, one slip up amd everything is ruined-"
"Do you think that your family never made mistakes in getting to where they are now? No, they've had others open doors for them and teach them the ropes. You will learn the same, it's not going to be an easy ride. Your dad should understand that more than anybody." Emma tries to get through to her, "And if he's going to come down on you for not going to his choice school or joining some rich society, then he's a huge hypocrite. And I will say that to his face."
She shifted herself on the bed to face the struggling young adult and place a hand on her knee, "No one can do everything perfectly Gia. You don't need to wear yourself out. Whatever you decide, you have a family behind you who's willing to support you. You and I both know that the guys are ready to jump in if something's wrong."
"Preach it again, will you?" Somebody made their presence known. The ladies saw all four of the guys, plus Savannah, standing behind the door, "We heard you two when we came up."
The green ranger plops down beside his girlfriend and the others crowd around, minus the female warrior, who remained leaning against the doorframe. Jake looks at the blonde, "Babe you deserve everything you've worked for. You're going to be amazing."
"You're one of the only people at Harwood that can keep up with me. You scare me." Noah confesses.
"And me." Orion also admits, making the team chuckle.
"Not me, but I can't ask for a better partner." Troy says.
The yellow ranger sighs and looks to her stack of papers on the floor, longingly wondering what was next. Her head then turns back to her friend as she says, "I have no idea what to do."
"Good." Jake replies, "You'll have time to think things through."
Gia kisses him on the cheek. The redheaded, wealthy fighter watched their moment. Her mind thought back to a time where things were simpler, no chaos and people were just people. Times such as those felt good, they felt normal, but never stayed around long enough to be remembered perfectly. She snapped herself out of it by clearing her throat, gaining the attention of everyone else, "Alright, I couldn't find anything the first time around. I'm heading back out."
"I thought we-"
"I can handle it." Savannah remarked, quieting the blue ranger before making her exit. The others watched her go, except for one of them, who waits until she was out of sight so he could follow her. Savannah was by the stairs and sensed that she was not alone, therefore she spoke out, "I thought you of all people would get the message."
"I do, but you shouldn't go alone." The red ranger says.
"I've faced danger before wolfie, no need to go mother hen on me. My own mother is enough." Savannah retorts, her dismissive tone of voice shining like the stars.
"Well as leader, I protect everyone on the team." Troy tells her.
"You're not my leader." Savannah reminds him, "We work together because we have a common enemy. We're not a team, we're allies, that's all it is. I'm sorry to break it to you, but I'm not a Power Ranger. That's how it is and that's how it's going to stay, so, don't think you have to protect me."
Turning on her heels, the fierce comrade walked down the stair case, which made it clear that the conversation was over. The dragon hero heard the door close with a click. He sighs.

"Ah. I've always liked the beach." Malcolm says to himself, soaking up the cool air and hearing the crashing waves hit his feet, "I should come back more often."
What stood in front of him was the target area, a place he had longed to see. A pleased smile reached his face and he pulled out his communication device, "The place is unguarded."
"Those idiots. You've gotta love teens." Will gleefully remarks, "Tread carefully."
"No problem, I have it on lockdown." Malcolm assures his comrade with upmost confidence. He places his device in his pocket and continues to move, ready to cause trouble.
