Underlying Woes (Part 8 - Final)

"Alright men, Kent was not pleased with how things went earlier today. We pledged our allegiance to him and to give all that we have into destroying the ones who ruined his life!" Will says aloud to the next line of soldiers, "We need to strategize better, scope more, and bring these Rangers to their knees. The power they possess is incredible, but can be beaten. Now, gather your weapons and move out to to ship, you will be thrown into the atmosphere at 5:00 sharp, move it!"

Will eyed the moving soldiers as they complied to his orders. A smirk slowly crept onto his face, his mind racing with plenty of ideas. He whipped out a photo that was given to him by Kent and looked at it with glee. A huge tower filled with a green substance all too important for the heroes they were up against. Will was aware of how much they needed, and he was going to get it one way or another.

"Are they ready?" Kent asks from beside him.

Will turns, "Yes."

"Are you?" Kent questions.

"I am." Will confidently states, "I've enlisted Malcolm to take over things while we're gone and focus on those pests."

"Good, because I had hoped that our trip to Grid Battleforce wasn't going to spread you too thin." Kent says.

"No, it's perfect. Every Ranger will be powerless once we destroy everything inside that horrible tower." Will speaks menacingly.

"You guys have a horrible diet." Savannah comments as she carries over her plate.

Jake holds his basket of steak fries, "Hey, it's my cheat day."

"You say that everyday." Noah blasts him. The soccer player elbows him.

"I ordered a salad. I've been dying for crab for weeks." Gia says from the couch.

"And I like buffalo bites. It's the best thing since roasted eel." Orion remarks. The others give him a strange look, "What? We didn't have froyo and stuff."

The red ranger comes walking in with barrels of food. The perfectionist pauses upon seeing the grub he brought, "Dang! You guys bought all of that?"

"Yep." Troy happily grins.

"That's like nineteen boxes." Savannah views, eyes widened.

"Twenty two if you count dessert!" Emma shouts from the kitchen.

"Um, are you gonna be able to finish all of that?" Noah quizzes.

"Whatever we don't saves us from cooking the next few days." Troy responds and shrugs.

"Well now that we're all settled, someone said something about Netflix." Jake smiles, rubbing his hands together, "Personally I wanna check out Disney Plus, but I'm cool with whatever."

"Let's binge watch DCOMs!" Noah suggests.

"No no no. I wanna watch No Good Nick. I didn't see the second season yet." Gia does not agree.

"What about The Good Place?" Orion asks.

"Mmm I saw that a million times already. How about Arrow?" Jake brings up.

"I'll settle this." Emma chimes in as she heads into the room for good and plopping herself on the couch, "We're watching Empire."

"Yes!" Both Noah and Orion simultaneously cheer.

"Empire!" Jake gleefully agrees.

"Nice one." Gia says. The red ranger grabs his grilled turkey salad and slowly tries to make himself disappear. The backdoor of the house was not too far off. The pink ranger caught him before he did so, "And where are you going?"

"I'll be here if you need me." Was all that was said before he left, shutting the door behind himself.

"Is he okay?" Jake questions the BMX rider.

A warmness suddenly spreads inside of Emma, giving her the sensation she previously experienced. She did not alert the others about it. In fact, she refrained from freaking out at all. Something about it made her smile as her head turns towards the green ranger, "He just needs to be alone."

The pink ranger did not elaborate any further and used the remote to select Empire. The soccer player shared a look with the others, but ultimately chose to shrug it off for now. Once outside, the red ranger was met with a light breeze and bright sunlight. Unlike his friend, his stoic nature returned when he thought back to what Casey had said, "You need to tame it, or it will destroy you." He sighs.

"Hey." Gia whispers to her best friend, "Do you think you're connected?"

Emma whispers back, "It's not so simple. I think what Casey told me is going to take more time." She smiles nonetheless, "But, I think I understand it better now."

Troy takes out his morpher and looks at it again. Previous battles flooded his mind. The struggle, the power, the stakes. All of it began as soon as he arrived in Harwood. The day he began his new life. Began to travel down a brighter path. The young man had no desire in looking back. Still, the same kid he was back then pegged him now. The concept was humorous. When did the save become the saver? Why did he?
His grip tightened and it nearly broke the device into pieces. Realizing this, Troy puts his morpher back into his pocket. Rather than re-enter to watch with the group, he stays outside. Little did he know that another was doing the same. She sat on top of the mall building to see the birds pass by. Her dangling feet swayed in the wind, while her mind was elsewhere.

'Today was lucky.' Savannah thinks to herself, 'I hope I can do enough for them. Because I know tomorrow won't be.'

Author's Note: I hope this wasn't too bad, I went back to watch Jungle Fury as I was writing this, so hopefully it is at least somewhat accurate. Nevertheless, this is how I plan to make his book. Each new title represents an episode like you would see on television and it only ends when it says final next to Part five or seven or however long I plan to make each section. I'm pointing this out in case you get confused.
