Chapter 5: Light•

Zelda sat near the waterfall leading to Zora's Domain. She was daydreaming about the time she saw her father, the king, walking around Castle Town while she was walking around to buy some food for her and Link's meal for the day. She had done her daily work for the day and went to Castle Town to relax before a moment before dealing with her talkative slave.

It's been days since that day she saw her father, and it was fresh in her mind. What if he recognized her..? Will he hold her against her will to go back home and be locked up again, like she was her whole life..? The thought of it made her angry and go get drunk a little before needing to see Link waiting for her at the house, but he wasn't nowhere to be found, so she searched outside and found him using a ice board to skate down the mountain and towards her with a bloody face! What was this guy thinking!? The one time she need him, he was causing trouble! Agh! What's with this guy?! Why was she more angry about the blood on his face instead of him leaving!? At least she got a little something from him. She might've scared him a little, but she didn't care. All she could think about was what would had happened if she was caught back in town... She has to find another place to shop, but where?

"How about Kakariko Village?" She stood up and nodded "it would be a good thing to go to new places instead of going to the same place over and over. Link seem to want to go places lately. He kept playing a song with a brown ocarina over and over" He said his old friend, who was a sage of the forest, taught him the song. The girl he was talking about was a Kokiri kid, children who never grow up and stay alive thanks to a magic tree. She actually did some research on Link's time, so she got an idea of how shock he was when finding out this time differs from his. If Zelda traveled through time and find her land the total opposite of what she knew, she would be pretty shocked herself

"I guess I'll bring him with me, what can go wrong?" She picked up her harp and strum the strings at random. Zelda has gotten use to Link being around her life. She's starting to feel that he's starting to get attached, and she feels the same way. It's getting too dangerous for her. The boy isn't from this time era anyways, is it going to effect anything? He's making her feel weird inside when he smiles, it's irritating because she doesn't know what's going on!

She groaned and played her harp to warp her back to her mansion. She stared at the fire place with Link sitting in front of it while playing a familiar song she use to listen to before going to sleep as a child... Her lullaby. How does he... Did her ancestors listen to this song before? Is that why he knows it? Wow...

She closed her eyes to hold her chest to sink the song into her heart, slowly remembering her mom smiling down at her when Zelda was getting sleepy on her bed

"My little princess..." Her mom smiled while stroking her daughters hair "it'll be okay... I'm sorry I have to leave you, but it's my time to go" she stood up after kissing Zelda sleeping "you'll be okay... Don't let the darkness fall into your heart before it's too late. Stay strong my princess" she walked away "I'm sorry this is the last time you will ever see me... Good bye darling" Zelda opened her eyes and found herself back in her living room with Link still playing that song. Zelda fell on her knees and leaned on the floor after dropping her harp. Link stopped playing and rushed over to her side

"Princess, what's wrong?" She leaned on his arms and just stood there in shock. Her mom... That's what she did? She just left? Her mom went missing before she was found dead in a different room in the castle. She told Zelda she was going to leave but she was asleep... Finding out she disappeared as a child made her angry... Her mother was the only person who could make her smile. She just suddenly disappeared and dared to never tell her what happened, but she was asleep... How was that fair..?

"Nothing" Zelda shook away the shock and looked up at his confused and worried face. That face he makes always get to her... So she used her hand to cover it "stop looking at me like that" she stood up and brushed herself off before walking away to her room, where Link followed

"Hey! Listen!" He choked in laughter "oh goddess... I sounded like Navi" he face palmed before crossing his arms "it's so weird how she didn't travel through time with me... She did when I take the master sword to turn into adult but why not here..?" Zelda stared at him talking to himself. It looks like the boy needs proper oxygen. He's been in the house sleeping for a long time

"Navi? Isn't that your fairy partner?" Link nodded happily

"Yeah! She was a little annoying but she was cute and really helpful!" Zelda's cheeks reddened before hurrying to her bedroom. Cute..? He thought someone else is cute..? She shook it off and hurried to her room to change as quickly as she could into a purple dress with blue ribbons. She caught Link staring when sitting on the bed. She smirked and walked over

"What's that? Are you getting use to my body already?" He cleared his throat and looked away while blushing

"Not really get use to it... It's not like you've shown anything to me even if you saw me fully naked" she giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck. The back of her dress was untied, so she notice him flinching when his finger felt on her skin

"Are you saying you want to see me naked?" He flinched and bit his lips and sniffled his nose bleed. She titled her head to the side in a tease and slowly removed the top part of her dress. He panicked before she got the chance to remove her clothing and closed his eyes

"No! I shouldn't see you naked!"

"Why not? I've seen you naked"

"It's different when you're a woman! Don't you know if you see a woman naked, you'll either have to marry her or get beheaded!?" Zelda sweatdropped

"Darling, this is a different time era. You're not going to beheaded if a woman offers to let you see her body. The only way you could get killed is if the father finds out" Link closed his eyes

"You're father is a king, that's way worse! I can't!" Zelda rolled her eyes and picked up his hand to force him to hold her breast. His eyes widened at the wall as he started shaking and actually squeezed. Her cheeks flushed and she actually moaned at the feeling. She closed her eyes as she took his other hand and made him squeeze on the other

"Z-Zelda..." Link breath shakily

"L-Link..." Zelda moaned before moving herself and turned around. She hugged herself and stared at the floor. She uses Link to entertain her, but she never exactly tried all this touching... She hears men in the bar talking about their experiences all the time, she was just curious, but since she first touched Link and he touched her, her heart was beating and her insides were making her shy. This is unlike her... What's happening..? Is she feeling... Emotions? She's actually feeling nervous

"Sorry..." Did she just apologize!? "Just tie me up... We're going for a walk" she waited for a moment before feeling Link's cold fingers zipping her up and tie her ribbon. She tried her best to calm herself down, but it was hard "great" she stepped away from him and picked up a bag "time to leave, go get your weapons just in case something happens. I decided to not wear my armor today, so you better protect me" she looked over at Link as red as a cherry, sitting on the bed shyly and nodded

"Yes princess..." He stood up and bowed for her "I'll go fetch your harp and my things" he stormed out the room as fast as he could. Zelda sat on her bed and covered her hot face

"What the hell..?" She hugged her chest "what's happening right now?"

"Time has been cruel to you young princess" Zelda looked around confused. That voice... "You let darkness sink into your little heart... It's important for a princess to hold positive energy, but because what happened to your mother, you let yourself draw into anger and created darkness" she furrowed her brows confused

"That makes no sense, how did a princess create darkness? Aren't I suppose to bring light?" The voice didn't come back. Zelda groaned and hopped back on the bed "I'm so confuse!! What am I feeling!?"

"Got everything" Link said while walking into the room. Zelda flinched and fell off the bed again "whoa!" He rushed over and helped her up "you okay?" She pushed him away and held her head "Zelda?"

"I'm fine... I guess I just need food" she rushed over to pick up a cloak to hide her appearance "let's go" he nodded slowly and gave her her harp. She snatched it away and tried to relax before playing the song to warp back to Hyrule field. Link looked around for a moment before taking a deep breath

"The field looks beautiful..." He smiled. Zelda shrugged and started walking

"There are some monsters around, so don't get too comfortable" there are often archers and flying monsters wanting to hurt travelers. Someone should really do something about that

"If only I had my sword..."

"Your bow and arrow is enough, right?"

"I ran out of arrows" Zelda nodded and continued walking with her hood on "um..." She stopped walking and looked at Link staring down at his Ocarina, the ocarina that played her lullaby "do you mind..? I would like to check something.." She faced him confused before nodding. He nodded slowly and played a song she hasn't heard before. He opened his eyes and checked his surroundings, but found nothing "just as I thought..." He ran his hands in his hair and sighed

"What were you going for?" He looked at her and smiled

"My horse Epona use to love this song... I was hoping there will be a horse just like Epona in this era that would like this song and be by my side"

"You really miss your time, don't you?" He looked away and nodded. She frowned and walked away. It's going to be a long way to Kakariko village... She hardly ever goes there so she didn't find it necessary to make a song to warp her there "there might be a wizard around here that might help you"

"Well... I'm not really planning on going anywhere any time soon" she looked at him confused "I have a duty here" she furrowed her brows

"What kind of duty?" He offered his hand with a kind smile. She gently took it

"To bring back your light..." He squeezed on her hand "the field seems a little different than what I remembered, but I believe you're walking to Kakariko Village, right?" Zelda nodded slowly "if things are the same in some way, I believe it's this way" Zelda pulled on his hand

"No, it's actually this way" she pointed "I believe where you're going is a old village that's been abandoned" she walked him to the current Kakariko Village "I have read stories about Kakariko Village being moved many years ago. A woman named Impa of the Sheikah Tribe's descendant is currently still in that sealed village blocked by a large rock. It's only a rumor, but the kingdom had ordered the descendant to stay in the village until a messenger with some kind of magic Rod will come and tell them they can leave. It was under the castle's order"

"Impa's descendant!? That's awful! Why would the kingdom leave the Sheikah Tribe in a abandoned village?!" Zelda closed her eyes

"The Sheikah Tribe doesn't exist anymore Link... Impa was the greatest warrior of the tribe, the leader actually... There were some problems and the tribe stopped serving the kingdom. It's been like that for hundreds of years... Even today, I wear the Sheikah tribe symbol on my armor..." she held her heart "but it feels like that tribe was suppose to be close to us... They were not only our protectors, but our friends... If I had a friend back in the castle, I'm sure I wouldn't be like I am today" she looked at her hand "heartless and afraid..." She can't believe what she was saying... She's pouring out her heart without really knowing why "did you know a woman named Impa? Link?" She asked

"Yes... She was Princess Zelda's protector... She thought me a lullaby that she use to play for you when you were young. You trusted her with your life. She took you to safety when Ganondorf wanted to capture you" Zelda's frown deepened "it's hard to believe the tribe are no longer serving the kingdom anymore... They were strong..."

"I believe you..." She looked up at the sky "my mother died when I was young... She went missing for weeks before they found her body in a random room in the castle. The way she left me was unforgiving. I lost someone who was the only one that made me smile. I was always locked up in that place... There was nothing in my entertainment, expect to listen to my mother play her harp... She was my everything. Then I lost her.. I was alone... Everyone ignored me... I started hating everyone... They say my people loved me and couldn't wait for me to rule, but... It wasn't me that they loved... It was the title. Princess Zelda, that's who they know me as. What if I was a commoner? They wouldn't care who I was... They wouldn't care if I had a dad who only cares about himself or without a mother. People care about titles and status... If you're a nobody... Nobody will care" she looked down and watched tears falling on the grass

"I see what you mean..." Zelda turned slightly to see him looking down with a hurt look on his face "all my life, when I was a kid, I had always been the kid without a fairy... You're considered a man if you had a fairy. I spend my childhood wondering 'why don't I have a fairy..? Am I not good enough?' It turns out I had a duty to up hold... To save Hyrule. I didn't get it at first but Navi was on my side and encouraged me all the way to the market and to Hyrule Castle, where I met Princess Zelda" he smiled "she believed I could do great things. She didn't see me as a Kokiri, just me... I grew up thinking I was a Kokiri when I wasn't. I got teased a lot because I didn't have a fairy... Outside the Kokiri Forest, I found hope to be someone worth wild. My friend Saria didn't care that I didn't have a fairy" the two made it to the gate leading to Kakariko Village "titles are important, but what truly matters is who will accept you outside of what you're called, because what's in the inside, that's what really matters" Zelda stared at him surprised, feeling her heart flutter before catching herself smiling...

"I see... Those are some strong words you gave there, hero" she turned away "I can almost feel light in my heart" she teased a little, not really knowing if the tingly feeling in her heart was actually light, but it felt better than holding her bitter grudge on people "but people will still judge you if you don't have a good enough title, it's all about the titles. People are quick to judge. Me as a princess, they expect a strong and independent woman who could take care of a whole land... I don't see myself taking care of so many selfish people"

"It's not up to you to change people, it's your job to protect what you love. You're a princess, you were destined to love your land... You were born to be a princess because only you can be the only one who can take up such a role. People earn their titles... Just because you have a 'bad' title doesn't mean you're a bad person"

"That's the problem..."

"There are certain lives a person were destined to take... They live the way they live because that's what they were given. It's up to them to change them... If they can't change their lives, they're not trying hard enough. It's up to you to show them the right path" Zelda squeezed on his hand a little "like I said, what matters more is what's inside, because if one day you're in trouble, who's going to help you? Not those strangers that judge you, it's the friends who accept who you are, not what you are" Zelda started tearing up more "I wasn't destined to be a Kokiri... I was destined to become a hero" he looked down "but my problem is... My princess was going to send me back in time to relive the childhood I missed. That would mean all my effort would go unseen. I would not be recognized as the hero of time... But that's okay" he closed his eyes with a smile "because I know what I did was right... As long as I protected my future, there will be hope. I have friends to believe in me, not strangers who will just look at me funny. It's about how you think of yourself... Not what others think" Zelda smiled and looked down

"Your words..."

"Even though I wasn't a Kokiri, the Kokiri tree thought me well... He raised me as a baby because of my heroic blood. See? It's about what's inside. He would of let me die in the forest if it wasn't for who I was... If he just looked at me, I wouldn't be here today" Zelda nodded and walked into the village

"What's in the inside... True friends... Leading people to the right path..." She smiled at the village "that sounds better than being locked up in a castle"

"You don't have to be... You're here and healthy... And strong. You can lead Hyrule to a bright path" she smiled at his bright blue eyes. She could feel light shining bright on her side, but she ignored it and continued to stare at Link in his eyes

"I..." She held her heart and smiled "really hope so..." His smile widened before he brought her in a hug. She hugged him passionately before looking at a spring near them and saw a some kind of light creature with wings staring at her before it disappeared and left behind a drop of light floating over to her heart she looked down on. She stared at it surprised before holding it

"What was that..?" Link asked. Zelda shook her head and closed her eyes. That was a light spirit... Light returned back to her heart. Is that why Link is here..? Because of his experience..? Zelda smiled at the thought before looking up at her slave. Even if she had some light, there was still darkness in there

"Nothing" she turned around with a relaxed look on her face "let's just eat something so I could put you to work in my shop"

"What?"
