Zelda has been so busy with her princess duties that she hasn't had one day off to herself. She's not complaining, even if this was what she feared, she wanted to undo all the things her father did, and she was only a few minutes away from finishing some paperwork

"How about a break, Princess?" One of her soldiers, Roy, one of the soldiers who walked her in Castle Town in her home coming, said

"I'm almost done"

"That's what you said yesterday" the other solider, Tom, chuckled. Zelda smiled before signing her name on the dotted line

"And... Done!" She smiled brightly and put the document on the side "I thought I'd never see the end, but now I have at least a few moments to myself" a princess's work is never done.

"How would you like to spend it?"

"How about in Hyrule Field? Or in Ordon!" She hasn't seen Link in weeks... She hopes he's doing okay

"We can't have you leave the kingdom, Princess. I'm so sorry" Zelda sighed and stood up from her desk and towards the hallway

"Very well... I'll go to the throne room and just relax there" the soldiers nodded before following her through her castle. This castle was in bad shape before she came and fixed it. Her father had did some crimes that was unforgivable and selfish. He made people pay more than they should just so he can get more of what he wants. She didn't want to be insensitive, but the man really tried to fight her into keeping his crown. Everyone knows that the woman of the royal family are the only true rulers, even if they birth a boy, but that hasn't happened since the beginning of the kingdom

The Kings punishment was to be beheaded, though it was cruel, Zelda couldn't break such a old law. If the King were to make a bad decision, it's up to the princess to make it right. There says nothing about a princess making the bad decision, it never happened...

After the beheading, Zelda spend her time in front of his tomb stone, asking and wondering... Why? After crying to herself for awhile, she left to do her work. Even though the man wasn't a fantastic person, he was still her dad...

Zelda thought it through while walking to her throne room, which was on the highest level of the castle. The throne was on the other side of the room, under the great goddess statue and surrounded by many of her soldiers. They bowed in respect. She smiled kindly and sat on her throne

"Thank you" she raised her hand to raise their heads. She took a deep breath before closing her eyes. There's nothing to do in this castle. Sure it's big... But it's not... Comfortable. She would be in her mansion with her wolves while looking at the fire place, then randomly go around the land when it's not running the boat shop. It wasn't the most fabulous life, but it was more comfortable than this

Her soldiers almost are getting use to her. They say the King was cruel and loud, so having her around was too good to be true for them. She understood, but if they knew her before Link, they would think "like daughter like father" she didn't even care about her land back then... Less than the King actually, because of Midna, most likely

She hasn't even seen Midna or heard from her after meeting her in Lanayru's Spring. She never even know what her intentions were for going into her body or putting dark mist into her and Link's Triforce. If her darkness went into Link of the past, would that make him dark like she was? No, the Link she met here in this time was sweet and shy. There has to be another story towards this

"my name is Midna... And I'm the Twilight Princess of the twilight realm" Zelda remembered "before you say anything, you should be grateful I remained in your heart all these years. I've been one with your heart and I saw that you wanted to leave this world after your mother left. I will help you as much as I can... But please. Save my people and yours" Zelda stayed in her own little world without noticing people were shouting.

"Zelda! Wake up!" Midna's voice shouted, bringing her back to reality and saw her soldiers being grabbed by some strange dark creatures. She stood on her feet and picked up her sword from the side of her throne and glared

"What is the meaning of this!? Soldiers!" She gasped. Someone was walking towards her while guarded by two other black creatures. Tom and Roy stood by her side while protecting her. Who is coming towards her? "explain yourself! Who are you and what business do you have for coming here and harming my soldiers!?"

"Zelda... Be careful. That's the man, who claims to be the king of twilight, who stole my powers..." Midna said. King who took her powers..? "I have very little of my power left, he took the power I use to rule my kingdom and of my ancestors... You have to get away from him Zelda! Now!" b-but she can't leave her people! After all the work she did for them! All those sleepless nights, everything...

"Princess Zelda..." The King spoke. Zelda glared and gripped on her sword. If only she had her Harp with her... "It is time to choose: Surrender or die" she held her heart in shock. Didn't she say that to Link b-before..? she... She can't die... She has to be here for her kingdom... She's defenseless right at the moment... Without her harp or daggers, she can't do anything. The King has a army and her soldiers couldn't stand a chance

"You must surrender! It'll be okay! I'll lend you my power! Let us warp out of here! It's the only way to keep you safe! There's no telling what my magic will do to you in his hands!" Midna shouted in her head. Zelda was shaking, having a hard time trying to remain strong. The shadow monsters were choking some of the soldiers...

"Oh yes" the King chuckled "a question for all the land and people of Hyrule. Life? Or death?" Her last two soldiers looked at her. She bit her lips before dropping her sword in surrender

"I'm sorry..." She whispered to everyone "please... Protect the castle for me. I will return" she closed her eyes "I don't want to do this..." She held in her tears

"Go princess..." Tom said, shocking her "in order to protect this kingdom, we must protect the princess... And we can't do that if you're here. it'll be okay..." She frowned at her two soldiers before her body turned into pixels of darkness and brought her outside Castle town. She stared up at the view of the castle and could see many monsters attacking it

"No..." She tried cupping her mouth, but her bones weren't structured to do so. She looked down at her body surprised and saw that she was wearing white fur.. A wolf?! She looked around and felt that the land felt strange somehow... Midna in color somewhat, came out and sat on the grass weakly

"Beautiful twilight..." She sighed "that man..." she glared "he has ruined both worlds..." She looked at Zelda as a wolf "you are probably wondering how you are a wolf... Before I can say anything, you have to get out the twilight, you are able to do this because you hold light in your heart. You are very lucky... We'll talk on the way" she flew and jumped on Zelda's back like a horse before laying down weakly. Zelda wanted to ask if she was okay, but it ended up as a bark! "I'll do all the talking, you get out the Twilight... Perhaps that boyfriend of yours can help us. Part of my power was sync into his Triforce" Zelda sighed and practiced walking on all fours before getting the hang of it and started running. She was a white wolf... Just like her loyal pack, but this is strange.

She howled a song to call for her pack. They appeared in thin air and started following her "quickly! We must keep running! I feel danger all around us! Stay as close as possible!" She shouted

"Yes master!" They shouted back. She gasped surprised. They... Spoke? They ran all the way to the border of twilight. They were stopped by the dark creatures that destroyed her castle. Her wolves started fighting for her, but the creatures seem to be getting up if one is left over to fight

"You have to defeat them at the same time" Midna giggled a little "you are not much of a physical fighter, so I'll give your weapons back" Zelda's satchel with her warp and Link's things appeared in front of her "you have enough light in your heart to not be synced into the twilight. Only one tear is enough for you. Want to become human again? Use your light and use your hope" Zelda looked down before looking at her harp in the bag. Her fingers appeared below her. She stood up and stared at her hands "lucky you, humans can't stay in their full form in the twilight without turning into a spirit. You can transform when ever you want, it can be for your benefit... But you have to take on the shadow beast first" Zelda looked down at Midna sitting near her feet

"Midna... You seem to know much about what's happening, even as the twilight princess I see. You're on my side, aren't you?" She looked back at her wolves still trying to fight before she picked up her harp "as long as you're on my side and fight, I believe in you... Even if I don't know what you are" Midna stared at her before Zelda closed her eyes and faced the beast. The wolves scattered, knowing what will happen. She strummed her harp hard to attack with vibrating sound waves that widened as they traveled far to attack the beast at the same time, making them fall and disappear into a portal up in the sky. Zelda felt a pat on her ankle. Midna was smiling at her a little

"Not bad... For a princess" Zelda sighed and focused her light to become a wolf. This is very strange... But it might come in handy "the border of Twilight is near, I can't follow you through the light world in this form, I can only remain a shadow so..." Zelda nodded and walked pass the border wall without hesitation. Midna was gone and Zelda turned human automatically

"the wolf form shapes only in the twilight. If you want to become a wolf in the light world, sorry to hear that! Now let's go find help! We both know you can't do this on your own" Midna laughed in her head. Zelda sighed and pet her wolves under her

"Come on... Let's go look for Link" she picked up her bag and held her harp close

"Good idea! Then I can explain to you as much as you need to know! Not all at once because I just don't feel like it"

"Much for you being weak and powerless" she sighed

"Hey! I still have power! I gave you the ability to turn into a wolf! Be grateful and listen straight oh so kind princess! I'm only going to explain very little so listen up" Zelda sighed again and smiled before going off through Hyrule field and towards Faron woods, where a few enemies were waiting for her
