Chapter 11: Dream•

Link rode Epona around the ranch while rounding up a herd of goats for his day work. He lives peacefully in Ordon Village as a wrangler. He's been living in the Ordon province for as long as he could remember. First being found in the middle of Faron Woods, and taken in by a man named Rusl as his adopted father. The village has became his family for all these years, never having Link to worry about who his family was or what happened to them, but the earrings he wears, it just might be the only sign of a life he might've lived if he wasn't found in Faron woods... He doesn't think it's from his family honestly, he actually thinks... A friend gave them to him

"Thanks for the hard work Link!" Talon waved from the other side of the ranch "I don't know what's wrong with the goats lately! They've been rowdy!" Link chuckled "how about I build up the gates for you and Epona to jump over for practice?!" Link waved his hand

"Not today! Maybe next time!" He kicked Epona to speed towards the closed gate and ran out the ranch, back to the village. Today has been pretty rough today. There's something bothering the goats, it's been harder to huddle them back in the barn house

"Oh well, I guess" Link sighed and looked up ahead to see Ilia sitting on a rock while playing with a flower. Ilia is his greatest friend in the village. They're almost like siblings by how well they get along. She would always baby him and speak up for him when he accidentally messes up when working. She told him that she'll protect him because of a dream she had a few years ago. She promised this someone to protect him, so she kept the promise even if it was a dream

She has been acting weird lately too... Ever since the Princess of Hyrule brought him back home, she's been off to space lately. She somehow knew the princess and her name, even when she didn't see her face.

"Hey Ilia" Link smiled before climbing off Epona. Ilia looked up and smiled before looking back at the flower

"Hey Link... How you feeling..?" He sighed and sat next to her. She never spoke about the time when he came back after being kidnapped by the castle soldiers

"I'm fine, but I really think we need to talk"

"What's there to talk about..? You're home safely, that's all that matters" so they're on the same page

"You were praying to the light spirit of Ordon province, asking to help bring me home because you promised him and her... Is this her the princess..?" Ilia stayed quiet "do you know her..? And what about this him you promised?"

"Link, I really don't feel comfortable talking about this"

"We're going to talk about this Ilia!" He almost snapped "you promised the princess of Hyrule to protect me in your dreams. The actual princess thanked you... Did you two actually meet?"

"Never.."

"What about the him? Who was he in the dream?"

"Everything was from the dream Link... I promised the people in my dreams..."

"But the actual Princess thanked you! It doesn't make sense!"

"I know it doesn't! I don't understand it myself but can we just drop it!?" The both of them sighed in frustration "Link..?"

"Yeah..?"

"Did you feel deja vu when you were with the princess..?" He looked at her surprised

"Actually... Yeah, I did" she nodded

"It felt like the three of us, in the spring... It felt like we were there together before. I really don't know anything. But since the princess thanked me, she might actually know something we don't. She knew our names, didn't she..? " he looked down

"She just suddenly appeared in Castle Town, saying she's going to claim her crown after screaming my name... Like she knew me. She was so concerned about me like she was seeing a friend getting hurt even though we never seen each other"

"my father said something about a runaway princess in Castle Town. She went missing since the age of 10 and some people say they see her walking around the place in a Sheikah suit. A Tribe of people who became extinct many years ago, but no one confirmed that it was her"

"She was a runaway princess?" Link's jaw dropped "since she was 10? That young?!"

"I'm sure she had her reasons... What do you think of her?" He blushed and looked down

"She's really nice" Ilia smirked

"No! No! No!" She laughed "tell me the truth, what do you think of her?" He sighed and stood up, looking up at the sunset

"She was really pretty... After I got kidnapped, I for sure thought it was the end for me. I tried fighting back but I was out numbered. Then she yelled my name. I didn't know who it was but the moment I saw her eyes... So much shine in them" he looked down "she saved me... For some reason, I think she took back her crown just for me, but I know that wasn't the case" he chuckled

"Well, what other reason would she have to randomly come back to her kingdom after running away for so many years?"

"It's not because of me, I don't even know her. Yet, she still saved me"

"Well, there's a mystery we don't know about the princess, Link. We still don't know how she knows our names or anything... But I still made a promise to her, even in a dream, and she knew about it, maybe something will happen... That we need to prepare for" Link looked at his best friend

"Like what?" She shrugged and looked at her flower again "I think I'll talk to you tomorrow, Epona and I are really tired" Ilia nodded and stood up

"Still, I wish I got to see her in person" she sighed "tell me, does she have blue eyes and brown hair?" He smiled

"Yeah, yeah she does..." Ilia smiled and held her heart

"It's so strange... I wanted to so badly see her, not because she was a princess, but because.." She looked away "I felt like we met somehow" Link pet her head and soon went back home to his tree house. He tied Epona down and climbed up his room

It's been so long since the last time he seen Zelda. She offered to meet again, but it never happened. It's been weeks... Maybe being a comeback princess will make her busy. That's okay...

Link heated up a pot of tea for the night and sat on the floor to relax. He can't get Zelda out his mind... The way she had her eyes closed in grace back when they were riding towards Ordon, she was so beautiful...

He shook his head to shake out the thought of something impossible and finished his tea. The fireplace suddenly went out. The entire room was nearly pitch black. Link groaned and picked up his lantern to light his way towards his bed up the ladder

"Time~" something said. He looked around confused. Was that the wind..? "Time has done well~ hurry... Find her~" The voice didn't come again. Link shook his head and took a step on the ladder before stopping

"Find her?" He asked himself. No, it was just the wind, it was probably nothing. Before he could start climbing the latter, his broom stick suddenly flew across the room. He stood on the floor in caution. What was that?!

Objects from one certain place in the room started flying. Link hurried to duck and stare at the spot that was clearing up. His dresser suddenly moved from the wall to reveal something... The wall that was covered up... There were drawings all over the place! He didn't notice them before when he opened the tree house more when it was a dump, he was too busy to notice, but now that he noticed...

He walked up to the drawings on the wood and lifted his lantern to take a better look. There was a drawing of a monster with demon eyes hovering over the point of a triangle out of two others that formed one, known as the Triforce of the land. On the right bottom triangle, there was a woman in a dress and tiara holding a ocarina in her hands, holding it close and dear... And on the left triangle, a man in a green point hat lifting up a blue sword.

Link ran his fingers on the monster's drawing until he saw flashing events popping in his head. He could somehow feel a sword with a bright blade in his hands and swinging it towards the monster until it was stabbed. Link gasped and tried moving away, but couldn't!

"Curse you Link!" The monster shouted "someday when this seal is broken, that is when I'll exterminate your descendants! As long as the Triforce of power is in my hand..." Link could finally remove himself from the drawing and sat on the floor in complete shock

"What the hell was that..?" He looked down wide eyed "who was that..? He knew my name but... He wasn't talking to me" exterminate the descendants...

There was still two more drawings on the wall, so Link curiously put his hand on the man who oddly resembles himself in some way for some reason, and saw a vision of a great adventure with Gorons, zoras, mask, and monsters followed by fairies and a odd creature with a straw hat. Huh... Then it the vision showed him a pack of white wolves with red eyes staring at him while surrounded by snow. He let go of the drawing and sighed. What is he seeing..?

The last drawing was the woman's, or maybe princess, looking a lot like the princess who rescued him, until he saw a vision of Zelda smirking at him before giggling and cross her arms, then glaring and crying, then sleeping in his arms, then smiling brightly, then taking off a scarf while wearing a blue suit, then seeing her looking up at him with tears in her eyes with a smile while holding a dark blue ocarina until her and it fated away. Link removed his hand from the drawing and looked at his palm confused

"I must be going crazy, because I swear I just saw Zelda in my arms" he blushed and laid on the floor "why can't I get her out my mind..? I only met her once" He ran his hands on his face and suddenly saw her coming towards his face and kissed him. He uncovered his face in shock and exploded in a nose bleed

"What?!" He sat up and covered his nose "w-what was-" something was howling outside. Link gasped and hurried out with his wooden sword. Rusl was outside his house "Rusl, did you hear that!?"

"Wolves in the forest? That's very strange. Come on, we have to protect the village" Link nodded and ran towards the woods with Rusl by his side. They approached the wider part of the woods until they saw a pack of white wolves with red eyes huddling around together. Rusl got his sword ready while Link stared at them surprised... He's seen those wolves before, in that vision back in his tree house

The pack growled at them. Link huffed and lifted his sword "there's not so many... I think we can take them" he said before readying his feet and ran towards the wolves. They scattered apart until they showed something laying on the ground, or... Someone. Only one wolf stayed by their side, whining. Link furrowed his brows confused, carefully walking towards the person until he noticed it was...

"Princess!?" He gasped and hurried to hold her in his arms. She was covered in bruises and asleep "hey.." He lightly slapped her cheeks. She whined and carefully looked up at him

"Link..?" She started crying "Link... I failed..." He frowned and held her hand

"Come on, I'll take you to my place..." He looked up at Rusl looking at them "I know this girl, I got this..."

"You sure?" Link nodded and carried her bridal style before walking pass the pack of wolves staring at him before running off and disappearing. Who were those wolves?

He made it back home and carried Zelda to his front door and sat on the floor with her on his lap. It's too far up a trip up the ladder to his bed, so this is all he can do...

"How can I help..?" She sighed and held his hand

"Just stay like this... Please" he nodded and held her close as her head rested on his shoulder. Weird... It's like deja vu because... He feels like this happened before on this very spot in this very house
