Chapter 2: Hope
So I want to draw some of my own personal art into each chapter so let me know what you all think about these! Digital art just takes so long and I honestly don't know how to use it. I drew Link in his dull self for this chapter. If you like you can check out my Instagram @its_heartfilia for more stuff! Thanks!
Everywhere me and Saira went, there were other Kokiris staring at me. At least, at my hair and clothing even I find myself weird. I really dislike when people stare at me. I get that I'm different but please...
"Don't worry about them" Saira said, stopping in front of the Kokiri store "they're just curious. We don't get many visitors. Adults sometimes try coming, but they end up in the lost woods. This place is protected from the outside world... If a kid comes, it'll be easier for them to come in, but one wrong move and they'll turn into Skullkid!" I nodded
"Yes, I know" she smiled
"You're smart! I like that! Want something to drink? Are you hungry? There's no rush to see Link, is there?"
"Well... No, I guess not" she nodded and waved to the girl walking around that I never learned the name of
"Fado!" Oh right, I remember now "toss us some Deku nuts with water!" I waved my hands
"No, thanks. I'm not thirsty" but I do want to see a Deku nut with my own eyes
"You're not? Then how about something to eat?" Fado's fairy followed right behind as she walked towards me. I didn't notice earlier, but Saira's fairy was resting on her shoulder. Real fairies... They're so small and bright
"What do you eat?" Fado skipped to a basket near by to hand a bright red apple "oh!" I never seen anything so red! This is the biggest apple I had ever seen
"Hope you enjoy them! It's nutritious, you know?" Fado gave a warm tender smile before skipping off all happily.
"Let's go" Saira said. Eating my delicious apple, I followed her to the direction of Link's tree house. Instead of looking up and waiting for him to come out when I'm sure Navi the fairy had already got to him, Saira was staring down at the moving and glowing Skeikah Stone with small legs coming from the bottom. Looking up, I saw a fairy sitting on top of the stone, waiting for the kid. Navi?
"Link! What are you doing!? You were suppose to be waiting for me to come get you!" Saria held her hips annoyed. My heart skipped a beat. His legs started crawling out the stone and sat down, staring at nothing with Navi circling around him.
I held my necklace nervously, staring at his dull blue eyes not even caring about the world around him. He's so cute in person... But the look in his eyes made me worry. He doesn't have any piece of any part of his heart. What I hold in my hand will give him some light, won't it?
"I was looking at the future..." He told Saria blankly
"Were you? What did you see?" He looked up, making eye contact with me. We stared at each other for what felt like forever. My heart couldn't take it. He was right in front of me... Not the same way I wish he was in, but still Link... The future hero of time. The hero I have to create by gathering his pieces of his missing Triforce that stole pieces of his heart
He lifted his finger to point at me. Huh? I pointed at myself confused "her..." Saria raised her brow at me
"Huh? I don't get it. The Sheikah stone usually tells the future of really big events. Lina, what reason are you here again? Not that I have a problem with you being here, but..." She frowned "Link had never made eye contact with anyone, not even me" my eyes widened
"Really?" I looked at Navi staring at us confused. Perhaps she doesn't know about Link's condition yet? "It's okay" I put on a smile "I have a lot to do on my plate... Not only am I here to see Link, but I'm also here to see the Great Deku tree"
"What?" Saria looked surprised. Navi flew up to me
"Mind me by asking, but are you the blue maiden the Great Deku tree summoned with Link?"
"Huh?!" Saria looked more surprised, partly because Navi finally showed herself to Saria, being noticed as Link's fairy
"I... Guess?" The great Deku tree knows a lot. The sacred realm knows me, so I'm sure The Great Deku tree knows me as well "yes... If you don't mind, I like to see it now" I looked at Link staring at me "oh... Link" I offered my hand "I have something to give you... I don't want to waste time" I want to see what Hope can do to a lifeless personality like his
"Okay" he stood up without question, taking my hand. They were cold... Like ice. He didn't even look affected...
We looked back at Saria holding her heart, watching us in worry. I can already tell what she was thinking, or what she knew. She knew Link wasn't like the other Kokiris, neither was she. She didn't know her own fate yet, but she sort of knew Link's. He has to leave the village, it's his destiny
"We'll be back, Saria" I smiled "I'll take care of him, don't worry" from how she talked to him earlier, I could tell she was someone who was in charge of him
"Alright... I won't question you, even if you just got here, but..." She gave me a sad smile "I trust you... I'll wait for you" she looked at Link staring at Navi flouting next to him "and Link?" He looked at her "I'll see you later. Don't cause trouble" she giggled. He nodded and followed me to the direction of the great Deku tree I already knew where it was
This village seemed more in detail and was much bigger than the game anticipated to be. I actually liked it, but it only shows how much bigger Hyrule can be. The one place I really don't want to visit and will take me the longest to pass through once we get out of here is Hyrule Field
I peaked over at Link looking around blankly. I have a mission to do... I have to help him. I'm not sure why it has to be me, since I'm incapable of doing anything including taking care of myself. Why did I agree to take care of Link and go around Hyrule to do missions like the game? I'm not sure, something inside me made me feel like it was my duty. I felt right to do this... Besides, this is Link I'm talking about. He's Link!
We walked the path towards the great Deku tree, where the annoying Kokiri Mido would block, but because I was walking, he didn't want to come close to me. I think it's because I was holding hands with Saria earlier "Oh! I'm sorry I just stole you away without introducing myself!" I gasped at Link "I'm Lina! I'm no one special really, but from here on out, I will be your guide" Navi stared at me in awe with her hands together, like she was admiring me. What is she admiring me for?
"Okay" wait... He's not going to ask questions? Of course, what part in his heart is he going to care about what happens to him?
"The Great Deku tree told me to find the blue haired maiden! Who are you miss? Do you know Link's destiny?" I nodded
"Yes, Navi the fairy" Navi gasped in awe. Her glow turned a slight pink. She was so adorable
"Wow! You know my name!" She flew to hug my cheek "there's something about you that I really like! I don't know what it is, but the light you hold in your heart is warm..." I looked at her surprised before smiling and looked back at Link staring at me in the eyes
"Link... You don't know how long I've wanted to meet you. It's an honor to finally be up close and personal with you! Please bare with me, I will from now on be your friend and guide. This isn't how friendships are formed, but I never had a friend so I hope we can get along" all he did was simply stare at me. I removed my necklace and handed it to him with both my hands "this...is yours. There are more out there, but this is one I have as a piece..." Navi flew to my hand to take a better look. Link reached out to take it, but the piece suddenly turned into a light before touching it
The light floated into his left hand he was grabbing it with. His Triforce on the back of his hand was barely noticeable, I could barely make it out even if it was dark. I smiled as he held his heart with his eyes closed. Does he feel something?
He opened his eyes to look back at me, but there's not that much difference in his eyes. But because of my keen ability to notice detail, I saw a change...
"Come on, let's go see the Deku tree. It's waiting for us" he nodded, taking my hand and walked me. I was surprised he took my hand this time, since he didn't know me and he lack doing anything for himself like this. I smile anyways
We faced the large tree with a face, together. It was the largest tree ever! I couldn't help but gasped loudly in awe at how large and wide it is! If I have to say this again: It's so much bigger than the game!
Navi flew over our heads to greet the tree "Great Deku tree! I'm back! And I have found the blue maiden! And here I thought you were joking about that. Everyone here wears green!" I looked around, remembering somethings we were suppose to get before we got here... A sword! And a shield! Oh no! What have I done!? Why didn't Mido remind me like in the game!? Oh right...
"Now isn't the time for me to make jokes, Navi" the large tree spoke deeply, making the forest shake a bit. Whoa! Here it is! The actual great Deku tree! With a mustache! "I am glad you made it back. Link, blue maiden" I stood tall, trying to hide my shyness "welcome. Listen carefully to what I, the Deku tree, am about to tell thee..." The land is starting to fill with darkness, the Deku tree senses it and wants Link to save it from its curse with his wisdom and courage, but...
"But alas, I am aware of this young boy's conditions" I looked surprised "he lacks his courage and anything that would make him out as a true being. You have given him hope... That is enough to set him on this journey to regain his pieces and become the hero of destiny" now this is completely different from the speech it says in the game. I guess I shouldn't compare this place to the game anymore "though blue maiden... Will you guild the young boy to take this task" I held my heart
"Great Deku tree... It's an honor to help you, but... Won't I just be in the way? I'll do everything in my power to help Link, he is my hero after all... I don't believe I can do this... But something inside me is giving me the strength to go out there and lead... I will guide him. I will" I looked at Link staring at me "Link... It's time to start a new adventure. Like I said before" I held his hand "please bare with me! I forgot to go around the village to actually get the supplies we needed. Come on... Let's hurry. Destiny is calling"
"Destiny..." He spoke softly. I nodded and looked back at the Deku tree, smiling and left to get the sword and shield. In my surprise, it took us almost all day to get these things! Link already had a sword in his home, and carving a stupid shield, since we were broke, was harder than it looked! It's a good thing I was a artist. The shield was perfect
I got Link his supplies. Getting a weapon for him was something I already expected, but to get my own weapon was surprising. Fado was actually the one to give me the weapon, a sling shot. This isn't something you can get right away, but inside the Deku tree! Talk about luck. I'll hang onto it and be the brains for Link when I need to attack from the distance
We went through inside the Deku tree pretty smoothly, thanks to me knowing where I was going and knew how to handle the short puzzles. The gigantic spiders really freak me out... Not spiders, golden Skulltulas! I got a few here, all of them that were here in the tree that is
Navi likes talking more than she does in the game. I mean seriously! This girl, or fairy, knows how to talk! Doesn't she get tired? Do... I really have to listen to all this all through the journey?
Link was surprisingly brave when fighting the monsters around here. Even if he lacked any emotions and even his courage, he fought without any sense. Though he did it without actual knowledge, he was a natural fighter.
Killing Queen Gohma took team work and running. I was exhausted but we were successful in the end. Using my slingshot to shoot at her eye, then telling Link to strike when she fell to the floor wide open was actually really fun! This beats playing on a small screen when the full action is in front of you
"We did it Link!" I cheered. Link didn't care of course. I was here cheering with Navi. She was a real help too. She was very knowledgeable about the monsters around here that I didn't bother learning about before. She was actually useful when it came to L-targeting. There was no buttons involved, but she helped with our aim. She's pretty cool
"What's that?" Navi pointed at a light portal above us once Link cleaned his sword with a leaf. Knowing he wasn't going to pay attention, I grabbed his hand, making sure there was a heart container here, not that it's realistic really to have health bars, and went through the portal, sending us back to the early morning sky and stood in front of the Deku tree... Is it really morning already? I'm really exhausted...
"Well done you two..." The great Deku tree praised us. Navi and I gave each other a small high five. It told us about the wicked man of the desert who had put the curse on the tree, a man I already knew too well. He wanted to go to the sacred realm to take the relic Triforce... Though one of them were gone within this world. The sacred realm is shut, so not even Princess Zelda has the actual Triforce in hand, but the light destined to be in her possession. Once Ganondorf goes into the sacred realm, the Triforce of wisdom will escape and find the reincarnation of Goddess Hylia, while the Triforce of power will be taken reincarnation of Demise
I have the power to stop this future... Since I know what's going to happen. By telling Zelda to not open the doors to the sacred realm and master sword, the sword that seals the sacred realm and can only be pulled by Link. I can keep the disaster of him ruling Hyrule from happening. But... I can't do that
The great Deku tree wasn't the one to tell me this... It was my heart. I knew that if I stop this future, I'm going to mess everything up. Somewhere in my heart... If I don't let this future happen, Link can't ever become a hero anywhere. His Triforce will forever be gone and... The pieces that are hiding will never show themselves unless they are needed. I don't know how I suddenly gotten all this information, but the light in my heart, the light that's made me feel lighter, was telling me I have to bring the pieces together... I have to let this future happen.
The Triforce of courage has made themselves into separate Links who live through Hyrule with one personality... Link is going to need these personalities, all these pieces... Or how else will this guy ever become the chosen one of the goddesses?
My heart was lighter than ever before. It's like I had my own destiny I finally gotten to have... The Deku tree doesn't want the desert man to take the Triforce or enter the sacred realm, but... It's the only way to keep Hyrule's generations in peace. The ocarina of time era sets into three different timelines, but I feel as those timelines were only made up and there will be only two. Yes... These timelines will have their own paths, it is up to me to get the hero to keep peace everywhere, starting now.
The great Deku tree is doomed from the start, it is it's time to pass... Telling Link and Navi about the golden goddesses and everything else. It gave us the Kokiri Emerald I kept safe in my bag. Once the tree had passed on, I gave my respects and left back to Link's tree, sinking in the last words it told me
"Navi... Help Link to carry out my will... And blue maiden..." I stood tall with confidence I never knew I could have "guide Link through out his destiny and find the Princess of Destiny" I nodded, finding a tear strolling down my cheek
"Yes..." And with that, it was time to sleep for the night we fight through and leave the village in the morning...
