I stood on top of the water in the middle of a lone lake, standing next to a tree in the middle of everything. Dark Link sat against the bark, staring at me trying to ignore him

"What's wrong cupcake? Why don't you come over here and sit next to me? I'm sure Link will show up to claim you again" I huffed, turning away even more "if he can claim you again. He's going to have to fight me for you" I looked at him

"What are you?" He raised a brow amused

"Come again?"

"You are not part of his heart, the heart the Triforce took him him... So what are you?" He stood up and walked on the water, even if it was hollow underneath

"I am part of his heart" I glared and snapped

"Lier!"

"When there's a bright side to a coin, there's the other side who's shunned by the light. I am that darkness. I was a part of his heart before... I cannot go into his heart so easily. You are the only one who can hold magic and return me to him. You are aiming to bring back every piece, weren't you?" He showed his hands. I took a step back

"No way... I'm not letting you anywhere Link. He doesn't need you. He doesn't need darkness in his heart"

"And yet you hurt him by shoving those negative emotions into his heart" I frowned "how am I different? Everyone has a dark side to their light. Why won't you accept me?" He made a fake pouting face

"Because he doesn't need you!" He snorted

"Doesn't matter... When he comes for you. I'll make sure to end him" I gasped

"You would kill your own self..?"

"But of course! I am the darkness in his heart. Dark things can happen on the other side of the coin. Why should I remain here while he's happy? He needs me" he appeared in my face and grabbed my chin roughly "he's not fully human without a little darkness in his heart. you cannot stop me from doing what I want... If he's confident enough to take you back and fight himself, he without a doubt will just walk away with you and kill me. Oh! But look at that!" He laughed "you never returned his pride!" I was shaking... I was terrified

"H-he'll win because he cares about me..."

"Wrong, he doesn't have his pride nor regret. He's reckless. He doesn't know what the outcome is if he does something stupid. You can't save him while you're in here... He's doomed" I shook my head. No... No...

His smirk widened across his face. He pushed my chin away so he can walk back to the tree. I held my chin, glaring at his back as he turned to look at me "if you try to leave, don't bother. Magic cannot be used inside these walls. It's easy to get in, but it's hard getting out. You don't know how long it took me to make it to Lake Hylia from this lone place... You're mine now. There are doors leading out of here, but look at your ankles" I looked down at my feet to see chains on my feet "magic doesn't work in here"

"O-of course it does!" He chuckled, lifting his finger to wiggle from side to side

"No no, that's where you're wrong. I've been here for as long as Link's emotion started expressing themselves and became one with Hyrule. He was 5 when we all made our lives. Because of who I was, I couldn't get a life and made a home here in the water temple. Since Link met you, I waited for the day when I can take you away from him"

"How could you do something like that..?" He shrugged

"I don't give one **** about what happens to him. This is what darkness does to a pure heart... It destroys it" his smirk was becoming more and more terrifying "and I want to destroy it... Everything about him. Hey... Don't you remember when you had that darkness in your heart?" I flinched

"W-what are you talking about..?"

"All this pathetic talk about one self... What happened to that?"

"I grew up! That's what!" I glared. He laughed and sat against the tree, waving at me

"You're funny! Entertain me some more! Why don't you sing for me? I enjoy hearing that voice of yours. I wonder how it'll sound when I play with it some more" he winked. I held my heart in shock. This... Is really what the dark part of Link's heart looks like..? "You're welcomed to move around freely, as long as you don't leave the water. You can go where ever you like"

"I want to leave" he snorted

"Yeah" I can't stand this guy. Please Link... Come quickly.

I don't know how long I've been in this place with Dark Link, but all I know is if something doesn't start happening soon, I'm going to die from boredom! All this guy does is sit there and disappears from time to time to another room and back again empty handed. I'm going to drive myself crazy

Then I remembered when Dark Link said about singing. I haven't sang in forever... And I have my music boxes in my bag! I took it off and placed it on the land where Dark Link rested. He opened his eyes confused and stared at me walking back to the water to play my music box and sing the Ballad of the goddess in its Hylian language, or what language Zelda sang in skyward sword the game

It was one of my favorite songs since I've heard it. It's peaceful tune was almost as good as the Song of time, which is another one of my favorite songs. Not saying I'm hating on my own lullaby. it's lovely, but we all have our different taste and likes

I felt more relaxed when I played sang this song, until Dark Link spoke "That is one thick Hylian accent..." So it is Hylian... I often hear people in the market talking in another language mixed with English. So that's Hylian, huh? I never question it because it sounded Japanese... If that's even a language in this world instead of the fake world

"I didn't notice..." I said

"What? Can't speak Hylian?" I blushed

"No..."

"I've noticed... You never speak anything but English, cupcake" even Link speaks Hylian from time to time, but I found it natural for someone to be bilingual around me since I knew people who spoke both Japanese and English. English and Gofilic are my spoken language back in the fake world

It's bugging me how this guy is calling me by a dessert instead of my name "Ah, Yi no pena to Ku cha eru?" I teased in Gofilic. He blinked confused "Su ken pachyri hu kabanicha!" I giggled. He looked uncomfortable

"What are speaking now? You're weird..."

"I'm speaking Gofilic "

"What the hell is that?" I huffed and saw the door open, letting in Link and Navi with the long shot in his hands and his master sword behind him. I gasped, putting my hands together happily

"Link!" Link noticed me and gasped, running on top of the water, surprisingly. Oh who am I kidding? He can do this in the game!

"Lina!" I looked around for Dark Link, but he was under Link's feet as a reflection as I expected. Link ran pass the tree to give me a big hug. Dark Link was no longer his reflection

"Oh! I miss you!" I chuckled. He let go and checked for any injures

"How are you? Did he hurt you?" I shook my head and pointed at the exit

"There's a exit over there. Hurry and catch up with Ruto" he frowned

"What? Why?"

"It's too dangerous here... I don't want anything happening"

"What do you mean..?" Link looked around for Dark Link. Dark Link appeared in front of the tree, taking out his sword. Link glared, hiding me behind him and took out his master sword. I gasped. I honestly forgot about the Dark Link fight when he was going to enter the water temple. I should had gave him his Goron sword instead of his master sword! There would have been more damage. This fight is going to be something...

"Yes... What do you mean? You finally showed up, Link. I know the temple is big but come on! Don't keep the lady waiting!" Dark Link laughed. I held Link's shoulders

"Link, don't worry about me now. Get pass the temple and take the-" he snatched his shoulder away from me before I could finish my sentence

"I'm not going anywhere without you. He took you. I won't let him off the hook for that!"

"Link... Please" Dark Link teased him by winking at me, making Link shout and run forward foolishly without a plan. Dark Link jumped to stand on top of his sword, staring down at with him a smirk before making a back flip when Link backed away and spin attack. Dark Link sunk into the water and showed up in front of him when Link made a full turn and got stabbed through the chest.

Everything turned silent. My hands shook as I brought them up to hold my face in pure horror. Link coughed out blood before dropping to his knees, with the sword still on his chest, leaking blood from the wound

"No..." I cried. Dark Link pushed him with his foot to fall back, taking his sword back and gush Link's blood out into the water. The scene was horrific, I didn't think I can control myself. I screamed from the top of my lungs as Dark Link laughed

"Ah man! That was too easy! He was more pathetic than I thought!"

"No! NO!!" I screamed. Link coughed again and turned to me while Navi freaked and tried making the blood stop with her small body

"Lina..." He coughed again. I shook my head, letting all my tears fall into the red water under me. My body was shaking like a leaf in a hurricane. H-how could this happen..? This wasn't suppose to happen... The hero wasn't suppose to die!

"The hero has been defeated" Dark Link smirked at me. I slowly stared down to my reflection, seeing how terrible I looked at the shock on my face. A defeated hero...

"The timeline..." The timeline when the hero is defeated...

"Pardon?" Dark Link looked at his body starting to fate away.

"I didn't think that timeline would have to exist..." I stood back on my feet and walked back towards Link slowly and wobbling.

Making it to Link's body, I held his pale cheeks as he stared at me. He softly smiled at me, curling his bloody lips "Lina... I'm sorry" I shook my head again

"No... I'm sorry, I should have thought this through faster... To save you"

"What are you talking about..? I was the one who wasn't even th-" he coughed on my face, making my eyes widen more in horror. I felt my body slowly becoming mental again. My mind warped back to the memory of my dark past I grew up in the fake world of others kidnapping me and held me hostage... I experienced a murder with my own eyes before I ran away. I didn't think my eyes could get any wider. I thought I shut out that memory long ago. Now that I saw another murder, I was more than terrified right now... "Thinking when I just ran at him" Link finished

I held his cheeks up and lifted his head to rest on my lap. His blood was starting to stain my skirt, but I didn't care "it's okay... It's okay... I'm going to make it better..." I got out my ocarina and held it to my lips

"Lina..?"

"A simple stab wouldn't be able to kill you... The Triforce would had protected you, but it was never completed. It couldn't protect you... Link... I'm so sorry.. There's no helping you. I'm not sure if this is going to happen, but to save Hyrule, I'm going to create a new timeline... I wish I knew how to help you, but this is beyond my or anyone's power. You're not even complete and this happened... I hope your soul will be okay to carry out in your new life" his eyes were growing heavier. My chest started to shine.

I bit my lips hard, tasting blood, before putting the ocarina on my lips and played the Song of Time. Link's lifeless body dropped into the water as my body lifted into the air. I was in the middle of Lake Hylia again on the pedestal Link and I warped to when I played the Serenade of Water long before.

I was on my knees, still with my eyes wide and body shaking like mad. My hands were still stained in blood and my mind was going haywire. I was going mad from the inside slowly again...

"Lina? What are you doing down there?" Navi asked. I glanced to the side to see Link's boots facing me. My heart burst to emotions I didn't think I could describe. I did it... The song of time warped me back to before I was kidnapped. I kneeled my head on the pedestal and had a total melt down. Oh goddess... The song of time worked... I turned back time to prevent Link from getting killed. Thus... Creating another timeline when he was defeated. I didn't think that timeline would be created that way...

"Lina..?" Link kneeled to rub my back. I slowly sat up to look at his face. He didn't have blood on him... He was free from the wound and was awake. He was shocked to see all the blood on me and panicked, holding my cheeks

"W-what's all this..?" I shakily took his cheeks, making sure he was real

"You're okay..." He looked confused

"Yeah... But what's all-" he looked over my shoulder. I quickly to turn, horrified, only to see a good piece of Link's heart looking at me with his dark blue eyes

"You are... Love... Aren't you?" I asked. The opposite of dark and hatred... Love nodded, looking to his side to look at who I already know was there. I snapped and lifted my hands to shun Dark Link, who was about to grab me, with my light. I glared and hid Link behind me

"You... Get away!" I nearly growled. I reached out, expecting something, a weapon, to appear in my hands, but nothing happened. I don't hold a weapon of my own... Why did I do that? I was desperate to get him away...

Dark Link rubbed his eyes before staring at me "you saw me coming... Interesting" he chuckled and backed away "I hope you see me coming when I see you later in the Water Temple. I look forward to it" he winked before disappearing. I fell back on my knees to hold my legs and rock back and forth. I hate this... I hate this... I'm scared... Don't let it happen again... Don't go... Don't go...

"H-hey..." Link grabbed my cheeks to make me look at him, but my mind was somewhere else

"Don't go... Don't go... Destiny... Stay alive... Destiny... Timeline... Protect... Blood... Blood..." I screamed from hallucinations "NO!!" I shot up to attack Link in a hug "don't go! Please! Don't die! I don't want you to die! Link! Please... Please..." I kept repeating myself to him, begging with everything I had in my will. He stared at me devastated, hurrying to return the hug I was needing so much.

"I'm right here... I'm here" my throat was hurting from all the sobbing

"H-he's going to kill you... That monster is going to kill you... Please, please don't go..." He held me tighter "I wasn't fast enough... He's going to kill you. Don't go. Please... Please don't go..."

"Lina... I don't know what happened or who that was, but I have to go... I need you to stay here" I looked at him, shocked.

"W-what..? No! I'm not letting you go back there!" He walked off to the drained lake and get whatever was left of the water to come back and clean my face for me. He didn't remove his eyes from mine for a second

"I have to find Ruto and save the domain, and also awaken the sage. Don't worry, I won't do anything reckless. You stay here... Besides. You can't swim, can you?" This conversation was almost like the one we had before Dark Link showed up

"How did you get all this on you? You don't have a wound" I didn't say anything, but he smiled anyways "I can take care of myself... I won't do anything reckless. I'll put my head first, alright?" I gave up... Even if I begged with my life, it was wrong for me to keep him here. I took out his Goron sword and handed it to him

"There's no stopping you... This will be more damaging towards your dark side and the enemy" he looked confused. I took his cheeks for him to listen to me "if you're not letting me go with you, you better not get hurt. That guy we just saw was the dark side of your heart. You do not need him. Kill him and don't do anything else until then. Do you understand?" He stared at how serious I was before nodding "the temple is that way" I pointed to where it was "please be safe" he nodded, hugging me once more before running off.

I finally relaxed my body and fell backwards in exhaustion. I was caught by a pair of familiar warm arms. I looked up to see Love smiling down at me with the warmest look I even seen. It's almost making my mental health calm itself. My breath was still heavy, but at least it isn't as bad as it was earlier. My body was too heavy to move anymore

"He'll be alright... Right?" He nodded, holding me in his arms and carried me to I don't even know where... I can't believe how fast everything happened. I looked at my bloody hands, remembering when I held my ocarina. Hyrule is doomed in that timeline... Because I didn't think fast enough. Tears fell from my eye again

"What have I done..?"

This was my most emotional scene. I actually cried when writing this. I can't believe I did that but it had to be done. By the way, Gofilic is a made up language. What she's saying doesn't mean anything at all. Please don't try to look it up 😅 I hope you enjoyed!
