Chapter 13: Quest

"No... No! No! Why!? Why would you do this!? Fado!" Fado stood in front of me with a bright smile on her face as we faced each other in the chamber of time

"It was time... I was under attacked in my house and things happened. It's all okay... Because that means I can finally be one with you again!" Her smile was so lively and happy, I couldn't stop my tears from falling. Is this what it means to have my magic..? Someone has to die in order to return it..? With my mom, it was the awakening... But with Fado... It was murder

"I am Fado, Forest light of the blue maiden! My life was meant to be yours one day! I had a good life here in the forest, you gave me the opportunity to be someone! Thanks to you playing your lullaby, I was able to find you as a spirit and become one with you again! Please, go find the other lights of your powers"

"How did I give you the opportunity to be someone..? How would I have that kind of power? What am I..?" She only smiled for me before making a green light appear in her hands and give it to me. It circled around my body like a fairy before sinking into my heart. My body felt lighter and a bit stronger... What is this..?

Everything turned white "thank you for giving me so many friends! I love them! Will you tell them that..?" I heard her say before appearing in front of the great Deku tree. I stood behind of all the Kokiris and Link facing a sprout of the Deku tree. Everyone was crying and cheering. I could tell they're happy about the forest gaining a new father

I patted a few of their backs "alright everyone, time to go back to the village. How long has it been since you all had a good night sleep?" I smiled. They all, but Link, faced me with frowns on their faces

"Your hair..." Mido walked up to me "I recognize it somehow" he looked down "we lost Saria... She became the sage of the forest. That's great news to hear, but not only did we loose Saria, we lost Fado..." Link's head flinched up and looked over in shock. His face was terribly pale and he had bags under his eyes. He's suffering and holding it in. Without sorrow, he can't express himself

"We couldn't save her on time..." One of the know it all brothers cried. I pet his head and gave everyone a tender smile

"Saria is in a better place, and so is Fado... Fado is also a sage, kind of... She's serving a purpose. She told me she loved you all... You all didn't loose your friends, they'll forever be in your hearts..." Everyone was sobbing softly before surroundings me for hugs. I smiled, petting as many of them as possible "please go on... It's time to take care of the forest" they nodded and ran off. Mido stared up at me

"You look like that girl that followed Saria a long time ago... Could you possibly be..?" I pet his head again before kissing his forehead

"It's going to be okay, dear" he blushed a little before looking at Link and ran off. I stood up to stare at Link's back as he faced the sprout "Link..?" Navi flew up to me with a face full of grim

"Link found out that he's not really a Kokiri... He learned of his past of his mother and that war... I can't imagine how he must be feeling right now"

"Link... I'm so sorry" he slowly turned around, but kept his head bowed

"Did you know..?" My eyes widened before looking down in guilt

"I..." He stood up, shaking like mad

"Why..?" It was painful to see him shaking that much "why am I hurting so much..? My heart hurts, and I don't know what to do with it" he looked up a little, making it possible to see how wide his eyes were

"I'm sorry Link, but... It wasn't my story to tell. I can help you feel better. There's a piece waiting for you... When you take it, you'll be able to express everything you're carrying right now. The emotion you need is sorrow, and that's all the way up in death mountain" I took his hand "let's rest... We've been through a lot today" I walked him to his house and spend the night. There was a feast going on that we were invited to, but Link stayed home and I decided to walk around to do some exploring for reasons

After resting, Link hasn't said a word since what happened. I frowned at him before going back to Kakariko, where he just slid under the sheets on my bed

"What are you doing..?" I asked

"I don't feel good..."

"What?"

"It's hard walking... Am I dying..?" I walked over to pet his head

"No... I know it feels that way, but you're fine. Link, get some rest... I'll be going out to do some things..." He removed the sheets to look at me. His face was all puffy...

"Are you sure..?" I nodded "do you want me to come with you..?"

"No... It'll be awhile for me to come back... It won't take long. First off... I better get Malon's dad to go back to the ranch" I giggled. He rested on the pillow

"I'm sorry..."

"It's okay... I'm going to take a bath before going off. See you later" he nodded and closed his eyes. I left to find Shauna to take a bath in the bath house here in Kakariko where you have to pay a fee to bath... How weird

"Oh dear! Where have you been?!" Shauna jogged towards me after talking to some workers. I'm sure she already knows

"Link awoken the forest sage and I got my green light..." Shauna gave a sad smile "Shauna... Why does it have to be like this..? Why can't they just awaken like the sages of Hyrule?"

"Because we are part of your magic... We are not people, but we created lives when we were born as how we..." She took a pause "I know this doesn't make sense, but it'll all be clear soon. All I'm saying is that we are your lights... You know how you gather Link's pieces and they made themselves physical to create lives? We're like that too! But different" I sighed

"Fine..." She pet my head and walked me to the bath house. Taking a shower was so refreshing... It was a hassle to wash all my hair, but thankfully Shauna helped wash it. I'm not sure if I should keep it. It's not a bother, only when it's wet and heavy. I'll see another time.

I had to do some quest before I could go up to the fire temple. I don't need it now, well Link doesn't need it now, but at least I can get it over with and wait while going into the fire temple.

The Cucco lady, Anju, gave me her depressed Cucco so I can find someone it can wake up. Luckily I knew the perfect man and woke up Talon sleeping in that house he was sleeping when Link and I came back and ate that feast.

As I suspected, he was asleep and I got his lazy butt to wake up. Once doing so, Anju gave me her brother's Cucco, Cojiro as a gift, but I have a task for this beautiful hen to do for me

It took some time to travel from Kakariko to the Lost woods to find Anju's brother that had a mysterious mushroom he gave me after I gave him Cojiro back. Luckily I had Farore's wind to help me. He needed me to take the mushroom back to Kakariko to some old hag who made some strong medicine that smells like antibiotics, in the dark. She freaked me the fudge out, but at least I can go back to the lost woods to obtain something that's going to be useful for Link's battles, not at the lost woods, but I'll use it for a trade to get what I want

And just as I thought, the guy wasn't there. Only Mido standing around where I last saw the freaky guy "huh..? Hey! You're back already?" I nodded "I think I saw you earlier, running out"

"Yes, hello Mido" he smiled happily while blushing "I was doing a request for a man, but he's not here" he crossed his arms

"He must have turned into a Stalfoe. That's what happens when people wonder in these woods. You're not a Kokiri, how are you okay? I've been wondering that for a long time" I shrugged

"Beats me kid. I don't even know what I am...I hold magic in my body and I'm not even sure why" I kneeled down

"Say... Your hair really is blue! You were that girl! I had my doubts but it's really you!" I giggled "you left with Link, right? What happened to him? Did he die because he left the forest?"

"Well... I guess I can tell you" I picked up a saw on the grass I've been wanting, that the guy left behind. I left the medicine on where he was sitting and looked back at Mido "he was the one you were with in the forest temple!" His eyes widened "I'm sorry I didn't tell you, but you weren't meant to know... Link isn't a Kokiri, he's a Hylian"

"I... Knew he was different. The guy didn't even have a fairy" I made my ocarina appear in my hands. I discovered I can create a storage within my light to hold limitless supplies. How useful

"I must leave now... I'll see you again Mido" I pet his head "I wish we could had known each other as kids..." He blushed again before I called for the owl, who kept talking about how much I grew before I shut him up to fly me to Gerudo's valley.

It took a few days to get there. It was more farther away than I thought, seeing the actual size of how big Hyrule really is. The owl needed it's rest, so it was up to me to get there on my own

I was tired and beat... I can't believe the spirit temple is all the way out here... This place isn't even part of Hyrule!

I entered Gerudo' valley, seeing there was a kind of market you would see in Indian streets with men in baggy pants and girls with covers hiding their body, hair and mouths. The bridge wasn't even around, the one that can lead me to Gerudo's fortress. It might be pass this market.

The homes were made of red stone carved from the valley around. The culture here was quite beautiful... I wonder how people will react when they see me or my hair.

There were many shops and many things being sold. I wish I can buy something, but this isn't what I'm here for... People kept staring at me and think I'm someone important. Many of them tried selling me things, but I just didn't need it

By the end of the market place I walked through, I could feel that aura that was making me excited. There's another piece here! Seeing how big this place is, I don't think I'll have time to look for him. I have to get back to Link soon. He must be really worried and it sucks of me that I left him when he needed attention. I'm a bad friend, but he'll understand that I went out for this just for him

There was the bridge I've been looking for. There was a man looking across the canyon. That's him! He should be the one to give me the item I need!

"Sir!" I ran up to him

"Hm? Yes? What can I help you with young-" I took out the saw I got from the forest and showed it to him without question "oh! That saw! It's mine! But... I thought I left that saw with my old lady..." He sighed "oh well" if you left it with his old lady how did that guy ended up having it? I never understood this

"Oh? This is yours? Silly me, I found it while wondering Hyrule!" I lied "I'll be happy to trade you something for it. I don't exactly need a saw, but I am needing of another weapon"

"A weapon? Oh, I have something like that, but my biggoron tool broke, so I was going to Goron city to get it repaired. You actually came at a wonderful time, I needed the saw. Fair trade" he gave me the broken blade sword in exchange for his saw

"Thanks a lot I'll immediately go to Goron city to fix this! Thank you for your business-" I could see horses coming from Gerudo's fortress coming this way. I gasped as they jumped the canyon and rammed into the market to mess everything up. The Gerudo were taking people's money and food like nothing! This was terrible!

"What are you doing!?" I shouted. A sword was pointed at me. I gasped and looked over at a Gerudo with blue eyes that made her dark skin color look like it was deeply tanned. She was beyond beautiful. Her outfit was a orangish pink color instead of the usual red like the others wore. The man I traded with panicked and ran into his tent. I got weak on my knees and fell. W-what am I going to do..?

"Stay down..." She spoke "you are very visible to this place because of your hair. I have cornered you. Stay here so you won't get hurt" my eyes widened. She removed her mouth cloth to show me a smile "I am Jasmine of the Gerudos... It's a pleasure to finally meet you, my blue maiden" a-another one..?

We looked to our side when hearing the other Gerudos cry followed by a man's shouting. The aura was becoming stronger... I gasped when I saw a blonde boy in a single vest and torn up baggy pants with a cute little hat on his head beating on the Gerudo's and won the fight. He laughed loudly with his chest pumped. My eyes sparkled at his confidence. That's Link's Pride...

"Pride..." I shakily stood up. Pride looked confused at me before glaring at Jasmine still pointing her sword at me. Jasmine huffed, lifting her mouth cloth before walking away

"Jasmine..." I frowned. She looked at me, showing happiness in her eyes

"I'm so happy to have finally met you... I'll see you again. Until then, be safe... When the day comes for you to come to Gerudo's fortress, I'll be there by your side" she winked before getting on a horse and race off with the other Gerudo's fleeing. Pride tried chasing after them, but failed and looked down at me before smiling

"Hey there cutie" he lifted his small hat for a greeting. I blushed and put my hands together

"Pride... I finally found another piece..." I stared into his glowing... White eyes? He looks like he just has a pupil... He used his hair to cover his eyes

"Forgive me... This time of the day is strange for me to show up, since I only come at night... Or before closing times at the market. I'm usually feared because of my eyes, but i don't care. I am who I am. I take pride in what I am. I am a thief, but it doesn't mean I'm a bad person" I held my hands close to my heart "you have finally found me, but without Link. Listen, if you want me to return to the hero, you have to bring him here" I looked surprised

"Why..? I came on my own"

"I know, but there's a lot of things happening here in the valley. I'm pretty much the only one who can save those in need. Until the day when the hero fixes everything, I'm going to stay here and protect this place" I dropped my hands before nodding

"I understand" he smirked and lifted my chin

"Don't worry beautiful, we'll be together soon. I'll take pride and letting everyone know that if they mess with you, they're dead" I looked away, blushing, and took out my ocarina, then used my powers to get something from my room. My powers are growing and I'm learning piece by piece... I pretty much don't need this bag anymore

"I didn't expect to see another piece here. I get your request. I'll be back" he saluted with a big smile "here" I handed him the Keaton mask "so you can come out in the day time and not have to show your eyes you're trying to hide" he look the mask surprised before smiling and put it on "I look forward to see you again, Pride" I smiled and played the Nocturne of shadow to come back to the graveyard of Kakariko village. Thank the goddesses for warping songs

I was exhausted and barely had any energy too keep me going. I haven't slept nor have I ate since I left Link in Kakariko a few days ago. I hope he's still there... What if he left to find me... Oh no!

I rushed towards the village to run into my house, but he wasn't anywhere around! Not even in bed! It was late in the day, where could he have gone!? I ran out to bump into Shauna walking towards the house

"Oh! Lina! Where have you been?"

"I told you where I was going to go! I was going to Gerudo valley but I didn't think the trip would take so long!"

"Gerudo valley isn't even in Hyrule, what did you expect?"

"I know that now!" She crossed her arms "where's Link?! Please tell me he's around!" She frowned

"Last time I saw him, he was running up death mountain"

"What?!"

"I overheard him saying something about finding his sorrow" my eyes widened, shaking my head

"Why didn't you stop him!?"

"Dear, he's a adult... He has a mind of his own and he can go up the mountain if he wants. He's not a dull person like he use to be. He has his wisdom and knows what he has to do. He probably thought you were up there and something happen to you... He was asking everyone here if they saw you" oh no...

"What have I done..?" She held my shoulders

"Calm down, Lina... You let him go to the forest temple on his own" I'm surprise she knows this even if I never told her, but then again... She is a part of my light. We are in sync pretty much... "He can go to the fire temple as well..."

"But..." She smiled

"Play your song and go..." I nodded and looked up at the mountains clouds turning red. I have a feeling I'm going to have to play the moon song... So that's what it was for... To calm the volcano..? Link, I'm sorry, I'm coming
