4. Trouble

As the sun rose, Avacyn nervously knocked on the door of Valyria's bedroom counters. She had wanted to wait until the Queen was awake to tell her that Lei and Jae' are nowhere to be found.
The door opened, and the Queen smiled at the red haired women, "Good morning." She greeted, then paused and glanced over Avacyn's face, " what's wrong?"
"Lei and Jae' have gone missing."Avacyn said with worry in her voice, she stepped into the room when Valyria moved to the side to let her through.
"What do you mean gone missing?" The Queen rose an eyebrow as she elegantly walked to the window.
"What I mean is that we have looked in every crevice of the castle and of the rest of the land, they have left the borders." Avacyn explained crossing her arms,Pynk walked in with a hand on her hip with a sigh.
"That's really concerning." The Queen pursed her lips, she scowled at the sun that was slowly rising high in the sky. "Hells, to think that I could leave Jae' in charge of Lei without anything ridiculous happening." She huffed running a hand through her braided hair.
"Well what are we going to do about this?" Pynk spoke up.
"That is something I do not know, they should be okay... They lived without us before they should be fine." Valyria tilted her head to the side.
" But that doesn't mean you're not worried about them." Pynk lightly put her hand on the Queen's shoulder.
"You're right, I am worried, but we cannot worry too much about them because the Ebon pact is closing in on us,"  she pointed out and walked over to her desk and looked down at the country map.

Lei sat down on the grass beside her horse, she looked up at the morning sun with a slight smile. She missed being out in the woods; it always reminded her of the times before they met Queen Valyria and before they were taken into Vealyrean Steel. It had been about ten years since that happened.
Lei looked to her side when Jae' sat down beside her, and he gave her some almonds.
"Eat something please," Jae' said with a smile. It seemed like he was enjoying the wilderness too. "They're probably worried about us you know,"
"You're probably right like usual," She commented.
"Do you care that we are making them worry?"
Lei gave him a look and then said, "Of course I care, but there are some things that I needed to see myself."
        "Like?" Jae' raised an eyebrow.
"The Ebonheart pact, they're planning something and I want to see for myself what it is." She explained.
"What do you think it may be?"
        "I am unsure,"
"And you thought you could do this yourself?"
         "Yes."
Jae' pondered for a moment then nodded, "I suppose you could have, yours and my parents both taught us well."
"They had," Lei replied with a sad look then leaned against Jae' it always made her sad thinking about their parents, but before she could think anything more of the subject she sat up quickly when she heard a noise in a bush....
