Miyuki Kuroyuki no San- The Matriarch of the family. She is a talented and kind woman who cares deeply for his sons, though she does struggle with the oldest. She regrets not having given her eldest son the attention he deserved. Even though she now tries to remedy that, she's pushed away by him.

In her youth, she was cold and detached. She would look down on her peers much in the same way her oldest son now does on his. It was Sebastian who helped her mellow out and open up more to the others. Osamu views her in a favorable light due to how composed she is compared to the other Seven Hills of his generation. In fact, he would rather have married her than Sofia.

She misses her husband who died in a battle against undisclosed opponents.

Sebastian Peña Kuroyuki no San- Brother of the late Queen Sofia and former owner of Kohri's hammer. He was a young man born to what was considered a fallen noble house. His father had gone bankrupt when he was in his early teens and committed seppuku (suicide by sword). As such he had to start working at an early age. He had his sister sent away to the capital to live with her fiancee in order to spare her from the poverty that was to come.

His mom helped him out, having once been a peasant woman herself. She taught him her father's old trade, blacksmithing. He would later go on to craft the weapons of the Five knights of Prophecy in collaboration with Kuroshi. Unknown to everyone but Miyuki, he made Baldo with Hyosetsu in mind.

He was seen as a peasant by the wealthier Seven Hills such as Eiji and Eiko. Even Miyuki initially looked down on him for his status. He was one of the first ones to befriend Tekeshi, something their youngest sons would later replicate.

Hyosestu Santiago Peña Kuroyuki no San-

A talented young man. He sees the throne as his right. Not only due to being the oldest but also due to being the strongest. (See 'The Titular Five Knights' for more details)

Kohri Mateo Peña Kuroyuki no San- The heir of the northern province. Like his older brother and mother, he was considered a prodigy from a young age. Despite being one, he gives whatever he does his all.

He is an outgoing and honest young man, some would even say too honest. He is one who tends to speak his mind, though it combined with his honesty can result in some of the things he says coming out as tactless.  He is one of the few nobles who befriended Serrano and Tetsuya right away. He tries to get along with his older brother but their contrasting worldviews often lead to sparks (and ice) flying.

He has a Xelerian girlfriend from the Kyuu Hyaku clan who he met some years prior to the start of Tetsuya's story.
