Chapter One Beginnings

How did it come down to this?

Surrounded by fire and death.... The flames of war stained the land with its ashen touch.

It was over, the war was over. No more treats of really anything anymore would oppose me, nor my empire, I have bested those who bested gods and now...

After everything, after all that I've done?  why now, why do i feel this now?

I should be excited, i should be celebrating, but... I'm not....

It all feels.... Mondain...

The blood that spilled, the mountains of corpse that towered to the sky, the very desert ran red, it was almost like the land was alive from all the crimson rivers that found new paths through the deserts of Shirima, staining the pale lose ground a bloody red, and here I was. A god, a being who could oppose aspects and defy gods with ease, and I'm here... here and now sitting upon the very throne that signified my grand immortalization, my rightful and long deserved ascension, and I couldn't stop it, couldn't help but to look at the peasants down below.

I saw the terror in some/

Hope in others.

Disbelief from those who despised me, who tried to stop my right, my ascension.

Along with those who held contempt and distain towards me, their were those who prayed me to, gave me their praise, their love.

And now after all this, after finally becoming the perfect leader, the perfect being to lead the ones trapped in the darkness out into a new age, how did i feel?

Mondain...  I was simply overwhelmed by a sense of Mondain, boring... Annoying....

Look at them all, all those who didn't have the stomach to as much as look at me before kneel with their foreheads in the dirt and their tears mixing with the red of the death i caused, now they give me offerings, their praise and cheers when it matter not to me in the slightest anymore. I once cared, however repeated exposure to the mondain Ill radical and frankly sorry excuse of a primitive species drove me to the point of self deletion. Your empty caverns of voided intelligence caused us more problems then solutions, solutions i wasted my life for!

And now you think its right after all theses years you can just crawl on the ground below me and give praise to me after all this? after everything that's transpired you believe i have use for you? That ill offer you all mercy?

I hate them

.

.

.

Or do i?

.

.

.

I loath their very souls

.

.

.

Or am i simply to far beyond the likes of them to even care anymore?

.

.

.

They deserve nothing! Only death for their negligence.

.

.

.

But what would be the point? To soil my hands with theses vermin that are so far below me? Whats the point, its about the same hatred as a Shark swimming passed a small fish, why even bother with such mondain and quite frankly low mediocrity. Its below me now.

They have to pay! They all do!

.

.

.

Then I'll just simply refuse them, let them fend on their own. If their so "advance" and "strategic" then let them solve their own problems. One can only give so many handouts. Spoil a pet to much and it'll get fat and not be worth having Afterall.

.

.

.

Yes i suppose that will work wonderfully.

So their i have it, my first act as the new me....

But i wonder how the old me would react if she saw me?

Would she understand just like i would?

Or would she just crumble away knowing our dreams became this in the end...

_______________________________________________________________________________

*Flashback, five years ago, within the West Youkai Faction territory, Time: 3:27 pm.*

"Things are progressing smoothly' The sunshine shines upon the seen, a young and beautiful Nine tailed fox Vastaya leaned over a desk with documents and paperwork spread across the whole table, her beauty on full display if they were to walk within, her nine large fluffy tails laid upon the ground as her left hand ran through her hair pushing it back a little as she stared down at the report she got from her secretary, it was a detailed report of the affiliations and political affairs of the West Youkai Faction.

The Girl before all those who witness from beyond was none other then Ahri, the violet Kitsune of the West Youkai Faction. Daughter of Yasaka and Co-faction leader of this nation of Youkais.

Currently the poor girl didn't look so good, though she very mush held her head with confidence and pride, and her outer appearance could still drop and man or woman to their knees at just a glance. Those who knew her best could tell she had probably not slept in days, the bags under her eyes was a much apparent thing that were no so easy to hide from the three humanoid entities within the room alongside her.

"Seriously boss, you should get some sleep. Its Been over five days now since you last gotten any form of sleep, hells I'm pretty sure if you go at this rate you'll break the world record for the longest supernatural being who requires sleep, to go the longest without it." A silky smooth almost enchanting like voice hummed into Ahri's ears which caused them to twitch ever so slightly.

Looking up from her notebook she saw the source of the voice leaning forward in the rocking chair with her frontal "weapons" pushing against the front of her kimono and stretching it out to the point it looked like any wrong move and the kimono itself was going to burst. Besides that, this figure had orange hair, two brightly colored red eyes and a fairly darker skim completion then anyone else in this room. The Horns on her head was a tell tale sign of what species she was and Ahri sighed.

Meet Ōtakemaru, Ahri's Secretary when it comes to the political and status reports of the supernatural.

"Secretary, we both know im not going to stop. I almost got it, once i get this problem solved ill take a quick break and then head back to work."

"You said that the last seven times boss, like come on and just take a break. Nobody is going to get on your case about it. I promise to not say anything at all!"

Ahri just looked at her, "You just want an excuse to get the time to drink and gamble."

"I-I... N-no i don't, i have absolutely, and positively have no idea what you are referring to." Ōtakemaru quickly looked away while grabbing something and putting it down quickly beside her, However Ahri heard the sound of glass clanking against the wooden flooring.

"ah huh, and that bottle of Sake you just quickly put beside you wasn't for any particular reason or???"

"Again no idea what your refuring to, i was here doing my work like a good little secretary and-"

"Ōtak, you need to stop drinking this stuff its going to be the death of ya."

"Shhhhhh! Nina! Shut up you traitor!"

Ahri rolled her eyes as she looked at who has now begun scolding the Oni Vastaya, it was a human girl no older then 24, bright red eyes much the same as the Oni except for the fact that her hair was a beautiful ebony black. She ware what appeared to be some form of special operative uniform, the height she was currently standing at was no better then maybe 5'8 to possibly 5'9 but the girl was in her combat military boots so it did add a little to her height. However this was the second Secretary of Ahri. Her name was Nina Stallion.

Ahri watched with some tired amusement at the two best friends bantering among themselves, however the life of a leader was one of struggle as she reminded of her set upon end date that was fast approaching for theses reports to go into the upcoming meeting and as such she needed to work a little overtime.

Hitting her notebook up, she began to run numbers, seeing what solutions she could do in order to increase their founding. With such an increase they can pay off old war debts to the eastern Youkai faction quicker and also acquire more resources from the other youkai factions more efficiently, however the biggest problem was that the land that would have a lot of what Ahri needed was bought by the devils. It made her growl in annoyance that once more the Devil's were a problem in her plans again, however what made this worse was after some much carful spy work she was able to learn that a lot of the land sold wasn't actually touched, like at all. It infuriated her to all hell that it was the case however reality is a cruel bitch at times.

Nothing she wasn't accustomed to at this point.

Returning to her work she zoned out making the other two sigh, Ahri was such a workaholic at times.

However a nice distraction was approaching in the from a slender beautiful female, this figure probably around a hight of 5'10. Packing long sharp nails, piercing gold eyes, pale porcelain like skin, and a smirk on her face she walked behind the distracted and sleep deprived Arhi. Before reaching out.

Ahri felt two soft hands press against her shoulders, it made her almost jump out of her chair. However the one who now held her shoulders pushed down making her resume her original sitting position.

Looking over her shoulders she sighed, "What are you doing?"

"Tending to you, after all I'm quite borde as of now. And doing this and seeing that struggle you always give me will greatly increase me mood."

"..... Why the hell did I ever make you my advisor?"

"Hehe, because of my vast years of experience dealing with things you don't, dear."

"I'm not your dear."

"Rejection again huh, the well I won't stop now."

"Course you won't. You never do, No matter how many hundreds of times I have to tell you off."

The figure just chuckled as the remaining two now sighed looking upon the banter.

The adviser that was now standing next to their boss was none other than, Evelynn. Easily the second most powerful entity in this entire room, she was a major demon hailing from Runeterra, an extremely powerful shapeshifter that relished in the agony and torment of other beings in order to survive. Though she was absolutely gorgeous with charm that could ensnare even goddesses of love, like any rose she held thorns to her beauty. And they both knew that, and so did their boss.

Evelynn and Ahri shared an interesting dynamic, both Ōtakemaru and Nina could attest to that, Ahri was selfless and focused, headstrong and regale. She always followed the code to a tea and never vered off course, she was always looking towards the future and a woman of logic and calculations. Evelynn on the other hand was a hunter, she was charming, outgoing, determined and relentless. She was the opposite to her introvert, Evelynn enjoyed suffering, agony and pleasure, she thrived on the thrill of her nature. A free spirit if you will, she was never boggled down by rules or ideas except for her own. She got what she wanted through any means and was a greedy and selfish woman.

Numerous times the two of them can recall of Evelynn trying to seduce Ahri, weather to actually engage in something more romantic, or so make her a number on her ever growing list of "partners" it was clear that whatever it was it ate away at the Agony demon. She wasn't ever used to rejection, so weather this was some game she envisioned of a hunt for a golden cattle, that being Ahri. Or something else they couldn't say. Frankly no one knew why she even joined to begin with.

Only she and the boss could possibly know.

However despite what they don't know doesn't mean that they couldn't enjoy the show of Evelynn attempting to get Ahri's attention by massaging her shoulders. It seemed like it was partially working since Ahri's half closed eyes and pleased smile betrayed the regal expression that her body was trying to exude. Evelynn knew this, She didn't really hide her facial expressions all that well.

"Enjoying it Ahri?"

"... Could you stop trying to distract me, Evelynn."

"Ah ah ah, not what I asked."

Ahri glared up at the demon with a half assed glare, She wanted to say something however the massage she was getting was damn good for her tired and stiff body. Not that she would ever say that out loud for the agony demon to hear.

Nina and Ōtakemaru just giggled, The interaction between these two was always an amusing game of cat and mouse.

Well more like fox and demon, but whatever.

"Ahri, since your going to be busy today should I change the plans for later on today?"

"No, you can still go out to eat today. I'll just be here."

"Ahhhhh I'm afraid if we leave, Evelynn is either going to try and fuck you to death, or you'll die of overworking yourself. Either way I don't think that's an option boss." Ōtakemaru said leaning back as she drunk a good amount of Sake from her bottle. Receiving a very nasty glare from Nina.

"Haha very funny Ōtakemaru, however I have no interest in engaging in sexual activitys nor am I looking for a partner from them. So she'll not be a problem."

"Oh, how mean of you." Evelynn spoke, briefly pausing the massage and felt Ahri's annoyance which made her smirk. "And here I thought we had something."

"I've told you countless times before."

"Huh, I seem to have forgotten them. My bad I'll be better next time."

Ahri rolled her eyes as she return to her work, but briefly had to catch herself as she felt Evelynn reengage the massage. The Kitsune huffed, but didn't give the agony demon anymore to work with must to her displeasure.

"Never said anything about not over working yourself boss." Ōtakemaru perked up reminding the Nine tais of the original conversation making her sigh.

"I wont do that either."

"Do what?" The Oni took another drink.

"..... Overwork myself." Ahri looked up and saw the Oni give a victorious smile before downing the rest of her drink, earning a mighty smack on the head by Nina.

Evelynn chuckled as she looked down at the Kitsune, she licked her lips however Ahri must have had eyes on the back of her head because the glare she got was that from legends.

"Keep those eyes away from my neck."

"Oh come now, I did nothing wrong."

"Sure you did, how many times must we go through the same song and dance Evelynn?"

"Hmmm... Until I win."

Ahri once more rolled her eyes.

This woman was going to be the death of her.

"You two are free to leave, enjoy your time out."

"Willllll do!" Ōtakemaru stood up and grabbed Nina, practically dragging the poor woman out of the room without a further say.

With just Evelynn and Ahri being alone Evelynn was about to say something, before Ahri snapped her fingers. Their a crow appeared in front of her, one with three eyes on its head.

"Raum, do you have the intelligence?"

The Raven nod as it stepped forth, Ahri closed her eyes as she felt a warm sensation wash over the forefront of her mind, when the sensation ended the Ninetales return back to the world of the physical, her psyche now informed with the information of the demon of secrets intelligence.

"Idiots, the whole lot of them."

Ahri sighed heavily, Evelynn knew what that meant. Some mortals did some stupid shit is what.

"It's already bad enough that we're divulging funds for them to hunt theses damn creatures. Now your telling me that their breeding theses highly dangerous creatures when they don't have proper space, food or manpower to be able to actually handle these things? God this is going to be a disaster."

"My what has your tails in a note?'

"....." Ahri took a deep breath. "The southern Youkai faction has apparently though it was smart to breed a new form of highly invasive and dangerous species of supernatural creatures called Unktehi. Their serpent's that hail from North and South Dakota, reason they're even here in Japan, is because ('thanks to Raum') apparently the space time shifts we're currently experiencing do to the barriers between our world and Runeterra breaking, which is just lovely. However the misfortune doesn't end their because the damned things are now mass bread in that territory, now that their away from their natural predators. These things are already powerful able to cause floods and other cataclysms and yet, their attempting to not only purge the abundance of them. But also attempt to control their breeding to raise them in order to kill them off to sell off their meet, scales and armor. However They overestimate themselves in underestimate the serpents, because in the past three weeks they have broken out of each breeding site without much effort and wade wast to the surrounding area in their anger. Summoning powerful floods that completely turn the areas into marshlands for them to breed in."

"That does sound like a problem, now doesn't it. So what are you going to do about it?"

"Simple really, The only thing we can do." Ahri looked up at the demon. "I need you to go on an extermination mission."

Silence filled the room, Evelynn smirked as Ahri could practically see the excitement burn in her eyes lighting them up even brighter.

"Oh~, You do know that the Southern Youkai faction is still a part of your faction right. Doing this, well it's like a teammate shooting them in the leg rather than giving them aid. What would your mother think of this~?"

"..... My mother, would sympathize with them and then attempt to aid them in this ridiculous dream of theirs. They're causing hundreds of thousands worth of damage that we do not have the liberty of paying every time one of their little pet projects go down. On top of that they do not know the power they are playing with, these creatures aren't native to Japan. They're an invasive species that need to be purged before the rot them is them is allowed to set in for too long. Regardless of how they feel."

"But you do know that this will just cause a demoralizing state to go over them right? I mean the months they've spent, The countless lives lost, everything really. It will just drag them into oh so delicious agony seeing their dreams go down in such a way."

"And?" Ahri looked back to her notebook. "It's a faction not a charity, if they can't see that they're not fit to run it. Thousands of innocent Yokais killed and for what? Now they get to be sad because their little murder serpent breeding project goes down in flames. Which I warned them about, no they don't get to play that card. See to the serpents extermination from Japan and we can further diverge our attention to something actually more meaningful. Like for instance preventing the Darkin from reaching our worlds, or fortifying our defences against stray devils so our neighboring trade routes aren't constantly under pressure."

Evelynn was silent for a second, looking down towards the girl she couldn't help but get little excited. Ahri like this was always a turn on for the demon, so ruthless, so cold, so calculating. You could mistake her for a demon at times and Evelynn liked that, she liked that alot.

But their was a sour taste in her mouth, because Ahri, this turn on for Evelynn at times, was so positively annoying as well. The damn girl was so freaking selfless with her idealism for things like this. Always thinking of how it affected others, mainly her people. Always caring about how it will affect her people, her people this, and her people that.

Honestly she wished this girl was more selfish, it would be so much funnier and easier that way.

However she wasn't. And that was ok... For now.

Though she had her clear orders now and needed to get on them before Raum gets his feathered hands on her... Again.

So she left, vanishing into demonic mist she was transported away into the Southern Youkai faction territory.

Now alone with Raum Ahri stood up, she held her arm up and Raums Raven flew up and landed on her arm, giving the bird a nice scratch under the chain she walked to her balcony, looking out upon her land and towards the city.

"..... Do you think I'm too cruel Raum?"

The demon looked at her.

"Am I truly the monster most the council labels me as? I know my conclusions aren't usually to their likings, however can we always go with simpleminded solutions that are forced to Play along with everyone's wants? To have solutions that justify itself to all of their moral codes? If we're too busy worrying about what everyone wants, or what everyone might think, or what "morals" will be crossed. Can we really go anywhere? Every faction in this world, from this universe and Runeterra has gotten their and build centuries of History upon a foundation of ruthlessness and strict solutions that give the most results."

Raum just tiled his head, she climbed up her arm and stood upon her shoulders, looking out towards the same city as she did.

"And yet our faction defies that notion. They clam it's "inhuman" to "savage" to "unholy", but if we want long-term solutions we need to use effective solutions not third world cheap supplies. Yet I'm the monster, when their thinking simply prolongs the problem in results in more death."

Raum Croaked at that, before turning his head to where Evelynn once stood, and Ahri sighed at that.

"I get what you mean, I just ordered an extinction for these creatures and if this gets found out.... Oh I'll most definitely be seen as a monster if not exiled from, and I'm scared for that, but... Isn't this my job as a faction leader to do this? Since I was eleven I was told I have to take care for my people, to be the one making the calls, to be the judge and get those who would share in my reign in line as well. So how is it right we can have incompetent idiots dragging us down and we get seen as the monsters."

Raum made another Croak noise as if to say "How should I know?"

"Aren't you the demon of secrets? Second most powerful demon do ever exist within your world. The "omniscient" demon?"

Raum Croaked at her.

"Whatever you say." Ahri smiled with her eyes closed, she rather enjoyed Raums company.

But the call of her work was simply too strong for her to deal with, so like a sailor to a sirens call she approached, as she sat down and went to pick up her pen. Raum landed in front of her and plucked the pen up and held it in his beak.

"Raum". She extended her open hand out. "My pen?"

Raum simply jerked his head to the side and threw the pen towards her bed.

"..... Not you too." She looked back as the bird just looked at her.

Realizing she wasn't going to win against the literal demon that was apart of her being she sighed and stood back up and went towards her bed.

She climbed into said bed and laid down, immediately feeling the exhaustion hitting her.

"Their, you happy?"

The last thing she heard was a higher pitch Croak from the raven before things went black.

Looks like the little demon bird was happy.

And cut.

There you all have it ladies and gentlemen this newest chapter is done I hope you all enjoyed.

It's been a hell of a long time since I have done this so I am so sorry if my writing is not how it used to be. But that's why I'm getting back into the swing of things or at least attempting to.

Also this is just an introduction chapter that's why I kept it relatively short, mainly because I didn't want to reveal too much without getting into the main plot of the story but I did leave enough to get you guys a general idea of the characters and also what is The world you have all been thrusted into.

Now there are any comments or questions that you guys have feel free to ask. I am willing to take any forms of criticisms ideas or anything like that after all this story is going to be my most ambitious yet simply due to the fact that I'm trying to keep it progressive but kind of slow but also very very human if you will.

Also a word of warning there are a lot of politics, and shit like you saw with this first chapter, And another thing I think I need to clarify is this. This is not Ahri from League of Legends, same name same look that's it. I hope you all understand.

So again if you have any comments questions or concerns feel free to leave them, And with that I will bid you all a farewell.
