Chapter 8: The Ideals of Children
{Not Edited.}
Today's chapter begins with a old man running away from Suni in a dark ally way earlier in the morning.
"Wait stop! I always liked you Suni, if you let me escape I'll owe you one!" The old thug leader was desperate. In fact he never liked Suni.
Suni smirked; "And betray Mako? I'd reconsider his offer if were you. It's time for new leadership." He than formed a fireball in his palm.
"No... wait!" The man screamed in defense only for Suni to finish him.
He walked out of the ally way and way greeted by two guards. "So how's the morning so far, pal?" Suni casually asked.
"Mako's gonna be happy, we caught all his stray rats." The guard answered, tilting his hat.
"That's what I like to hear." Suni smirked as they climbed in the fancy car.

Suni knocked on the door of Mako's mansion. You know... Asami's mansion.
"Did you get it done?" Mako asked as Suni walked in. Mako wearing a bath rob and his hair quite messy.
"Let's just say they'll be screaming at you six feet under from now on." Suni said as he sat in the vanity sit and up his feet up.
"Feet off, Suni." Mako said tapping his feet as he walked over to the vanity.
"So what's next on the list?" Suni up an eyebrow up.
"Next..." Mako breathed, grabbing his pocket watch. "We Keep business as usual." He finished looking in the mirror and fixing his hair.
"What about Bolin?"
"He'll come around. He always does. What I'm really worried about his that Avatar."
"And Asami? She getting out?"
"No. I made sure that. Please I sent her a note. 'Dear, Asami, after finding the horrible truth of you being an equality so sorry but Val blah blah... same old break up lines. Did the Yakuza give you any trouble?" Mako looked over at Suni, awaiting his answer.
"Yea some of em. But they're gonna get worst. Lot worst. Heck they own the police at this point."
"I'll have a chat with her. See if I can fix ties."

On the other side of the city I say after breakfast looking at The sunrise with so much in my mind. Tarrlock almost hurting Yongten, what Mako was doing, Amon's note.
It bother me that I failed protecting Yongten and Korra. Perhaps a little too much.
Tenzin sat next to me and I only wanted to hug him. I hadn't even told him about Amon's note.
"Takumi, What you did was so reckless... not to mention you used blood bending! I'm trying so hard to yell at you right now." Tenzin snapped, fury in his eyes as I looked up at him.
"Disappointed in me, Tenzin?" I whispered. That wouldn't be a shock.
"That's not what I—" Tenten was taken back as he tried to find the right words.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm not the perfect avatar like everyone thinks I should be. I'm just so tired. And when I saw Yongten being controlled... I'm not good enough!" I tried not to yell but my voice raise none the less.
"That's not true, Takumi." Tenten tried to reassure.
"It is!!" I snapped as I stood up, my eyes looking at the ground. "If you knew... what I really am. You'd be so disappointed. Everyone would be. I'm so pathetic! I couldn't stop Tarrlock from hurting Yongten and Korra, I can't stop Amon, or that Mako, I failed you..." My thoughts were so cloudy I couldn't think. But in that moment I could only think bout how horrible of a parent I was.
"Takumi!" Tenzin shouted. "None of those things are true." He stood and softly placed his hands on my shoulder. "You keep thinking you have to fight this alone, but you don't. You have so many people wanting to help. You learned the elements so fast, too charge of Republic City best you could, now I don't agree with you using blood bending but I'm not disappointed in you. You stopped Tarrlock and protected my sister. I'm grateful Takumi. And just because you've defeated this yet doesn't mean you won't later." Tenten said, his caring eyes looking down at me. I suddenly felt a weight off me. "My father once said my mother would do the same as you are right now. I suppose it's an avatar thing ummm."
"What else did he say about her?"
"That she was determine, brave, caring, and in her own way a good mother."
I wanted to cry for the first time in a long time.
"Takumi...?"
"How is he? Your father?"
"He's a very old man now, but he's still kicking. Still rides that dragon. Why?"
"Just curious... I have to go Tenzin, thanks."
"Anytime, Avatar."
I wasn't always like this, I used to be talkative, joyful. What happened to me?
~~***~~
It was almost midnight when I glided up to the warehouse in the note. I walked in with caution, feeling the ground with earthbending. No one was there yet. So I stood in the middle and waited. With earthbending I could see everything.
It didn't take much for Amon to arrive through the back door. Alone. I was actually a bit surprised.
I had to be on guard still, I had no idea what this could be.
"Avatar Takumi, I'm pleased you decided to show." Amon said in his soothing voice as he quietly approached.
"It was too interesting to pass up, so what is it you want?"
"You make it sounds if I want something from you." Amon replied, holding his hands behind his back.
"Unless this is a trap why else would you call me here." I smirked, shrugging.
"Why are we fighting, avatar? We could want the same things, have you ever considered it possible? The idea that some are not worth of bending?"
"Of course I have. I've taken people bending." I replied, looking through Amon's mask and into his eyes.
"I know what you're past life did but what of you? Are you going to follow the same path as she did?" He placed his hands behind his back.
"Obviously."
"And What of the people born with no bending at all. Do you really tell that none bender better luck next time? Who's to has we need bending at all? It's abused people for centuries."
"You can't say that and just ignore what actually started all those wars. And it was never bending." I give a clinched fist.
"And you the most hypocritical. You tell others not to hurt people, not to practice forbidden bending, when you do exactly the opposite. Simply because you're the avatar." Amon's head slowly turned towards me as he spoke.
"It's not bending that's the issue, Amon, it's humans. We're pathetic in every way. But in all that there's a sliver lining. The world isn't fair to anyone, but doesn't that mean it's fair? If the avatar is picked randomly doesn't that mean it's fair? See the problem with people like us is that we're extreme. And the world can only live off balance. You want to destroy all evil but without conflict we are nothing. You can never build the perfect world. It doesn't exist and it never will. All that we can do is fight for each day to be better than the last."
"It's because people like you will never see that the very rules and laws to our world are what keep us down! Bending is a decease that needs to be removed!" Amon clinched his fist, his tone becoming more hostile.
"It wasn't blood bending that hurt you it was your father! His greed and anger." I interrupted.
"What did you say?" His eyes widen.
"I know, Notock. I know who you really are." I continued to say.
He stepped back. "You don't know the last thing about me."
"Your bother Tarrlock, said the same. My past life took your father's bending away, and I'll do the same to you if you don't stop." I twirled my glider in my hand, this was only going to end one way.
"As I said. Hypocrite." Amon smirked. "Let me tell you the real reason you're here..." he extended his arms and looked up at the night sky. "Right this minute, all the councilmen have been taken, all the streets leading to republic city have equalist ready to attack, and your precious airbenders are already captured. And before this is over, Avatar Takumi, I will destroy you." He looked right back at me, his eyes clear as day.
I clinched my jaw, my mind was racing and all I wanted to do was punch him out of existence. Who was he to threaten my child?
Just than a loud explosion went off in central hall. I could hear the screaming from the slums.
I snapped my head back to Amon but just as I did I felt all my veins stiffen, my body began cripple.
"Tell me where you took them, Amon, you piece of garbage!!" I screamed, the pain was nothing compared to my anger.
"Reverted to name calling have you?" Amon's smug tone boiled me.
It was night time, no less a full moon, even my horrid ass of a blood bender could do this.
I regained control and threw two massive colorful blasts of fire at Amon, jumped up and saw his shadow as he dodged the fire. With pensions I used earthbending as sonic and threw two well shout boulders at him.
He dodged the first but quickly stepped on his toes and barely the last. I didn't let him rest as I used a the earth right beneath him and raised the whole plate form.
He stepped on the edge and jumped off and used his bloodbending to soften his fall.
"I'm going to make sure your equalist know exactly what you are, who you are!!" I yelled as I shot boulders from underground at him.
This time he didn't see them coming and the first two nocked him down while he barely managed to dodge the last as rolled to the side.
I flipped and kicked more colorful fire at him and it completely surrounded him.
He lifted himself up and looks at me, his mask cracking as he did.
Just as I was about to create restraints with earth he leaped at me and bloobended me to stop where I stood and kicked my face and chased me the ground.
I sent two fireballs out of panic and used airbending to flood in the air. I wasn't going to let him get close.
He dodged both with ease.
"Well looky here, if it isn't the two biggest idiots of the city." Mako grinned as he casually sat on a level of the rubbles warehouse.
"That's amusing coming from the lowest scum in the city." Amon scoffed, putting his hands behind his back.
"Hey, avatar, need a little hand?" Mako yelled in an amused tone, holding some kind of drink.
"Knowing you there's gonna be some prince. No thanks!" I yelled back and keep my eye on Amon who did the same.
"Aww come on. I'll give you a discount." Mako waved.
"Fat chance!" I snapped.
I could tell Amon didn't want to use bloodbending in front of anyone else. Maybe this was a good thing.
I kept a pose on the small post I stood on, waiting for any slip up of Amon to make.
Suddenly Amon got water form thin air and used it as steps to climb to me.
I shot to cuts of airbending towards him as I went back to the ground.
Amon quickly blood bended me to stiffen and I fell to the floor, with that I sent five long boulders towards him.
He out ran each and got far to close, as I was trying to stand he suddenly grabbed my hair. I kicked his knee and he than kicked my ankle, causing me to fall and just as I was I spun around and fire punched him the face.
His mask crumbled and his fake scar showed through the fire around us.
With a glance he suddenly sent two huge ice sticks toward me and I was immediately pinned down.
I keep looking for a way out but I couldn't move, I couldn't bend!
"I told you I would destroy you." Amon threatens as he placed his hands on face.
I growled out fire from my mouth and scrambled about my resistance. I had no choice. "Mako!"
Seeming to be out of nowhere a massive lighting bolt shot directly at Amon.
His bending fell to the ground and I was set free, I immediately went to my ready lose.
Mako used fire bending to jump down and walked up to Amon's motionless body. I didn't trust this one second.
Out of the dark Anon's arm moved and Mako crunched together and began to yelp in pain.
Just as I was about to bend fire at Amon I felt the same and we both went to our knees.
"It is almost a shame to take the bending of someone so talented. Almost." Amon breathed as he leaped to Mako.
Idiot.
I broke out of his cripple and bloodbended him, he went completely stiff and looked over at me.
Mako collapses to the ground and was slowly getting back up.
"Knock him out! I can't keep this forever!" I snapped at Mako as I was losing control over him.
Mako slapped him the face for personal reasons and was about to actually knock him out when I felt Amon take control again and I collapsed to the floor.
As soon I looked up Amon was gone. I than collapsed to the ground and breathed heavily. I hadn't fought like that in ages.
"Are you alright?" Mako asked with his hands in pockets as he walked up.
I looked up at him, he was probably going to leave me there and demand something. But not as I expected he reached down and helped me up.
"What do you want?" I sighed, looking him as his face was rather close to.
"Geezz just checking if you're alright." Mako scoffed and let go.
"I find that hard to believe." I looked back over at the fire I had caused and took it out.
"Well there is one thing. What do you say you and I make a deal?" Mako suggested and stepped in front of me.
"Like what?" I sighed, my shoulders down.
"I give you a all my men till we defeat Amon, something we both have instead inter in. And after your Yakuza and the cops leave us alone. For good." Mako stepped closer and look me in the eyes, his shark eyes piercing as ever.
"And if I don't except?" I tilted my head at the possibility.
"Than forgot about it. I can watch this city burn all I want." Mako smirked and was about to walk away.
"Alright." I sighed. I had a feeling I was going to regret that.
"Ha. Finally came around. I knew you'd come to reason." Mako walked up up and lightly touched the tip of my nose.
I snapped and grabbed his finger, cashing him to yelp. "Don't touch me." I huffed with a pout and let go of him.
However he only found it amusing and smirked. "Ha but you got some blood. Here." He pulled out his white hancerchif and whipped it off.
"You're hurting Bolin like this you know." I said so he'd back off.
"Don't talk to me about my brother." Mako looked me in the eyes with a treating look. One I found out the hard way wasn't playing around anymore.
I smirked and walked back. "Than don't touch me."
Mako smirked back and put his hands in his pockets. "I have to go the island, you make sure HQ doesn't fall." I ordered as I grabbed my glider and fell off.
~~***~~
When I landed on Aang Island a white lotus ran up. "Avatar Takumi!" He yelled.
"Where are they...?" I gasped, realizing the island was empty. Amon wasn't lying.
"They were taken by equalist." He answered.
"And you?! Y'all are supposed to be elit!!" I snapped towards them, they were once they best of the best, now they let chi blockers stop them?
"There wasn't nothing we could do, we were chi blocked." One defended.
"Korra and Bolin left for Repulic City." A waterbender said.
I regurgitated and looked up to see a equalist zeppelin arriving.
I glided up and landed at the very top; "Time to put Toph's lessons to the test." I breathed as I metal bended the whole side and caused the Zeppelin to fall into the sea.
After I fell back to Republic City which at that point didn't look pretty.
~~~**~~~~
"Avatar!" I heard a Jae yell as she bended an equalist.
"What's happening, Jae?!" I yelled as I ran up and air bend shoved another away.
"The council was taken, and roits have started all over the city. We're lost here." She breathed, her perfect hair now messy.
"We need to regroup, tell everyone we're meeting at HQ!" I said before a voice on the speaker began to talk.
"It is a glorious day, my Equalist brothers and sisters! Amon has torn down the tyrannical bending government! He has declared bending illegal, and he has the Avatar on the run. Our great leader has a vision for the future. One day soon, bending will no longer exist and we will live in a world where everyone is finally equal! The United Forces are on their way right now to try and stop that dream. But we will prevail!" Someone yelled like their life depended on it. To be fair it kinda did at this point.
I sighed. This was bad. I couldn't contain this like I had planned.
I looked up at the sky, Republic City was in flames, the streets were in chaos, filled with Yakuza, Police and Equalist, gas, fires. So much yelling.
It was hard to make sense of any of it. It wasn't a ideal situation. "Republic City has fallen hasn't it?" I breathed, leaning on my glider.
"I'm afraid so, Avatar." Jae answered, putting a hand in my shoulder.
And there was only one way to stop this.
{A/N: I'd love know your thoughts and see if I'm going the right way with this plot}
