Chapter 2

(HEADS UP: MY OC/MYSELF IS AN ADULT IN THIS!!!)

*My POV*

We slowly opened our eyes to see where we were and we were surprised to see the ocean below the rainbow. I stuck my hand through it, and touched the water, Dorothy and Toto watched amazed. But we looked up at a familiar voice. "Dorothy! Izzy! Hi, kiddo, Izz!" Scarecrow said as an illusion of him popped up. My eyes lit up.

"Scarecrow? What is this? What's happening?" Dorothy asked confused as we followed him. "We're flying you back to Oz in a rainbow mover. I invented it." He said, winking at me, causing me to giggle. "Show off." Lion said as he came into view. "Cowardly Lion?" Dorothy and I asked happily.

"It's just Lion now." Lion said, before roaring. "See?" He asked proudly. "Oh, my." I said chuckling. "Dorothy, Izzy." Tinman said chuckling and we smiled. "Hi, Tinman." I said smiling, before the three of them came into view. "I am so overjoyed to see you." Tinman said as they all smiled.

We smiled back. "You guys, dragging us into a giant rainbow really scared us." I said smiling, before I slowly felt my wings appear on my back. Oh, right. When I first entered Oz with my sister, I gained these wings. "I can only imagine how you must feel, trapped alone in a giant rainbow. Surrounded by colors. It must be just...horrible! Oh!" Tinman said, before hugging Lion sobbing.

Scarecrow faced me as I faced him. "Ever since he got his heart, he's been all over the place." Scarecrow said and I nodded. Lion was holding his arms away from Tinman. "I never had emotions before. I just want to try them all out." Tinman said, before going back to sobbing against Lion.

"Dorothy, we don't have much time. There's trouble in Oz, and only you...threatening the land. And you two are the only ones who can stop..." Scarecrow said, but got cut off by a loud noise. We gasped. "What's that noise?" Dorothy asked worried. The three of them gasped. "Hold that door!" Scarecrow said as Tinman and Lion ran over to the door. "Oh!" Tinman said worried.

"What's going on?" I asked worried as Scarecrow was messing with the machine. "Hang on, girls. We'll explain everything when you get here." Scarecrow said as I frowned more. "Where?!" I asked with worried eyes. "Emerald City! In the wizard's chamber." Scarecrow said, before he was cut off. "Scarecrow!" I shouted worried.

*3rd POV*

"I smell flyin' monkeys!" Lion said as him and Tinman began locking the doors. "Oh, no! Monkeys!" Tinman said as Scarecrow was trying to get the connection back, mostly trying to get to see Izzy again. "Dorothy, Izzy. Scarecrow to Dorothy and Izzy. Come in, girls." He said as the screen that showed Dorothy, disappeared as it looked like she fell.

"The door..." Tinman said before a flying monkey punched through it. "Scarecrow to Dorothy and Izzy." Scarecrow tried again. "...Is starting to give." Tinman said again, before Lion had a flying monkey punch the door right by his face as he gasped. "I've lost contact with the girls! I can't get them back!" Scarecrow said worried(mostly for Izzy).

*My POV*

Dorothy and I were screaming as we kept going through the rainbow.

*3rd POV*

"I can't hold it!" Lion shouted before him and Tinman fell to the ground since the flying monkeys sent them flying. "Time's up!" Lion shouted.

*My POV*

Me and Dorothy continued to scream as we went down.

*3rd POV*

Lion and Tinman put each other's hats on each other's heads. "Hurry!" Lion shouted as him and Tinman ran towards the window. Scarecrow messed with the machine a little more, before he ran towards the window as well and closed it just in time as the flying monkey's busted through the door. They were growing. They began huffing and chattering as they searched the room for Scarecrow, Lion and Tinman.

*My POV*

Dorothy and I continued to scream before we hit the ground, and I grunt as Toto landed on my stomach. Toto fell off of me, dizzy as we look around. We looked around Oz as the rainbow was still behind us. "I can't believe it, Toto, Izzy. We're really back in Oz." Dorothy said happily, but I turned to the rainbow and gently tried to touch it, but it started fading.

We gasped. "Wait. Scarecrow? Scarecrow?!" I shouted as I went towards the rainbow with Dorothy and Toto following me. The rainbow faded and I sighed. "Oh, great." Dorothy said. "Come on, Toto, Dorothy. We've got to get to Emerald City. It sounds like the guys are in trouble." I said as Dorothy and I began walking with Toto, to try and get to Emerald City. "If only Glinda were here." Dorothy said to Toto. "She'd know what to do." I said to both of them.

*3rd POV*

Glinda was laughing. "Now, now. Oops! No, don't push. I'm coming right along." Glinda said as she was tied in a rope, and the flying monkeys were dragging her. "Please, if..." Glinda said, before clearing her throat as the ropes were really tight. "If you would just give me my wand back." Glinda said.

She saw the flying monkey that was holding her wand, sniff her wand. "Oh, now, you don't want to do that." Glinda said, before the flying monkey put the wand in his mouth, but got electrified. Glinda giggled. "Don't say I didn't warn you. Magic in the wrong hands can be a very dangerous thing." Glinda said as she struggled.

Suddenly the doors slammed shut, and the lights went dim and she gasped. Smoke appeared. The flying monkeys yelped and flew off, dropping the ropes that held Glinda. A figure was lifted on a platform, before he faced Glinda. "Oh, Glinda. Sweet Glinda." The figure said, as more smoke appeared with fire.

"Ah, the Jester." Glinda said, figuring out who did this. "I am so thrilled to have you as my guest." Jester said as he bowed. "I'm captivated." Glinda said calmly, and the lights came on as the Jester jumped towards her. "Isn't it wonderful when two great powers as you and I meet face-to-face...peer-to-peer, toe-to-toe?" Jester said as Glinda was laughing and his shoes rolled out towards Glinda's.

"My, but you're...silly." Glinda said. "Silly? By 'silly,' surely you mean diabolical." Jester said, gesturing with his hand as Glinda laughed again. "No? You're laughing? It's the costume, isn't it? I know. I know. Hard to take me seriously. It's my curse. Literally. I can't take this off...ever. My wicked sister did this to me with one of her funny little spells." Jester said as he took off multiple Jester costumes, only to appear in the one purple one he always wears.

"I knew your sister all too well. I never knew she had a sense of humor." Glinda said as she laughed again. "It's not funny to me!" Jester said, as he walked towards Glinda and towered over her, and she backed down. One of the bells on the Jester's hat fell in front of his face with a jingle, he blew it out of his face.

"But now I'm ready to embrace a whole new role as ruler of Oz." Jester said as he pulled the rope off Glinda, which caused her to spend around and quickly stopped herself. "And you're gonna give me your good Oz-keeping seal of approval." Jester said as Glinda brushed herself off and looked at the Jester.

"But I don't approve. The Land of Oz is already falling into ruin because of you. No good can come from the reign of a fool." Glinda said as Jester looked at her with an unamused look. "Ah, Glinda. Glinda, Glinda, Glinda. You are such a disappointment, just like all the others." Jester said as a curtain opened, showing all the rulers of Oz.

Glinda gasped. "What have you done to them?" Glinda asked with shock. "Even a fool has a few tricks up his sleeve." Jester said, before he walked around happily, before showing a certain broomstick. Glinda stared at it with shock. "The magic of that broomstick belongs to someone else." Glinda hissed.

"Uh-uh-uh. But with this little baby, the magic is magnified, and becomes all mine." Jester said as he placed a crystal ball onto the broomstick and it glowed. Glinda had to look away to keep herself from being blinded. Jester vocalized happily. "Isabella and Dorothy Gale will stop you. They will find a way back to Oz and she will stop you!" Glinda said as her voice echoed.

What Glinda didn't realize was that the biggest closet of the rulers behind her, moved towards her. "Ooh. 'Isabella and Dorothy Gale will stop you.'." Jester said with a fake teeth chattering. "Aren't I quivering!" Jester said, before laughing. "Where once your living soul did dwell, now is nothing but an empty shell!" Jester said as he shot the spell at Glinda.

When the spell hit Glinda, it turned her into a doll like the others. Jester made the Glinda doll look at him. "Now do you approve?" Jester asked once again. "You rule, O generous Jester." Glinda doll said. "Attagirl." Jester said, before he shot the Glinda doll into her box, and the box went flying back into the wall.

Jester laughed, before his magic ball went from purple to a bluish-green. The glow died down, it had purple around it, but there was that same bluish-green in the middle. "Ah, come on, what is that? To my tower. Fly!" Jester said, before he quickly hopped onto the broomstick and flew up to his tower.

With Scarecrow, Lion and Tinman

The three of them were walking in a circle. "Now just around this corner, I'm sure there's a buttress we can slide down." Scarecrow said. "Wait! That's the window we escaped from. We're just going around in circles!" Lion said, as Tinman's knees were shaking. "Hmm." Scarecrow said, before they heard a bang from inside.

"Some genius you turned out to be." Tinman said as the flying monkeys were messing everything up in the tower. They were making a huge mess. What they didn't notice, is that Scarecrow left something inside a hidden spot, knowing Izzy would find it when her and Dorothy got there.

The three continued listening to the noise. "Listen to that racket. Sounds like they're wreckin' the place." Scarecrow said as they heard the clanking. Tinman looked at his chest. "I think that's me." Tinman spoke up, causing Scarecrow and Lion to look at him. His heart was flying around in his chest.

"How ironic to get a heart, only have it to attack me. Oh, the pain! The pain!" Tinman said, before Scarecrow realized something. "Gadzooks! I just realized something horrible. Dorothy and Izzy could be here any minute and walk right into a flyin' monkey ambush." Scarecrow said, causing Tinman to gasp.

"Oh, that is horrible. Empathy, horror, fear!" Tinman said, before Lion looked up. "How about I jump in there and tear 'em all apart? Just rip 'em limb from limb!" Lion said, before he roared. "Let's use brains, not brawn." Scarecrow said, before they started moving again. Tinman was whimpering. "Hmm." Lion said, annoyed.

Before Scarecrow stopped. "Wait a minute." Scarecrow said, before he elbowed Tinman before smiling. "I have a brilliant plan." Scarecrow said. "Ah, relief." Tinman said as he closed his chest since it opened. "Is it a tear-them-all-limb-from-limb plan?" Lion asked hopeful. "Nope." Scarecrow said, causing Lion to frown.

"It's the tear-him-limb-from-limb plan." Scarecrow said, pointing to Tinman, causing Lion to smile. "Wha..." Tinman asked before they put their plan into action.

With the Jester

Jester was in his tower looking through the same crystal ball the Wicked Witch of the West looked through. "Show me the girls." Jester said, before the leader of the flying monkeys poked the ball. Jester slapped his hand. "Not a toy. No touchies." Jester said, before the same image of Dorothy, Izzy and Toto came up.

Jester gasped, then started hitting the ball more. "Come on, come on, come on, come on. Show me the girls. Hmm? Show her! Should be easy." Jester said, before banging the flying monkeys head on the ball before grabbing him by the throat. "Ah! The only people who could threaten my plan is here in Oz, and I don't know where. You know how annoying that is?" Jester asked as he shook the flying monkey.

"I can't let them beat me. My plan is almost complete." Jester said as the flying monkey was retching. "And you better figure out a way to help me, or you'll be grounded, and you can kiss your wings goodbye." Jester said and the flying monkey sighed. Before he began panting. "Ah, haven't we been through this before? I don't speak monkey." Jester said.

"Come on Toto, Dorothy. Let's find the yellow brick road." Izzy said and Jester gasped as he looked into the crystal ball. "That's them? That's Isabella and Dorothy Gale, the witch slayers from Kansas?" Jester asked as Izzy's wings were tucked into her back. "Why, one's just a little girl, and one's barely an adult. And they're headed for Candy County. Ah! Well, I'll just let her taste their treats." Jester said, before he gaged.

"Then their justice." Jester said then he kissed the crystal ball before standing up. "You!" Jester said as the flying monkey appeared. He hit the flying monkey with the broomstick. "Ready your minions. We're going to double our efforts. Go to the Emerald City." Jester said as he pushed the flying monkey out of the window.

"Join the others. And don't come back without that Scarecrow, that Lion, and that tin can!" Jester said and he whimpered with excitement. "I'll take care of the girls...especially the older one, for that Scarecrow." He said to himself. He began laughing manically as the flying monkey barked and a bunch of flying monkeys began flying.

"Fly! Fly! Fly, my babies!" Jester said to them before he turned back inside the tower. "Now for a little insurance." Jester said as he walked to the crystal balls that showed signs in Candy County. "Moon and Earth and stars align. Show the wayward girls a sign." Jester said and his broomstick glowed.

Somewhere else

The same signs from the crystal ball was shown and it said 'Candy County >> DO NOT EAT THE CANDY!!!' but the Jester's spell changed it to 'Candy County >> PLEASE EAT THE CANDY!!!'.

*My POV*

Dorothy, Toto and I were still walking, trying to find the yellow brick road. "Oh, Toto, Izzy. This doesn't look like the Oz we remember." Dorothy said as everything seemed more...dark. "Emerald City must be in that direction. I think." I said as we looked before we heard a voice. "Correct." The voice said before we gasped and turned around.

"Tough I'm not sure I would advise you to go. Lately, many are going, but few are returning." The same voice said, and we saw a very, very...fat owl. "Whoa, you are really fa..." Dorothy said, before the owl turned to us. "Hmm?" He asked and I elbowed Dorothy. "Fabulous...Owl." Dorothy said.

"Oh, you're very kind. I usually hear 'fat'. But of course my theory is that I'm just not quiet the right height. If I were twice as tall, for instance..." He said, before he fell off the branch with hoots. "Aaah! Ow!" He said, before he bounced through the fence. We walked towards him as he groans.

"Are...are you okay?" I asked. "Physically? Yes. But I do have a large piece of bark lodged in my hindquarters...oop! Sorry, I'm giving you too much information, aren't I? I do that. My name is Wiser." Wiser said and we smiled. "Nice to meet you, Wiser. I'm Dorothy Gale." Dorothy said. "I'm Isabella Gale, but please call me Izzy." I said.

"The famous Isabella and Dorothy Gale. And Toto." Wiser said and Toto barks. "I'm a really big fan of your work. Timber!" Wiser said and he sat up the right way. "Wow you really..." Dorothy said. "Know everything?" Wiser asked. "And..." I began. "And...finish other people's sentences?" Wiser asked.

Dorothy and I giggled. "Oh, no, I'm doing it again. I'm sorry. I...I can't help it. I'll just go. Farewell, Izzy, Dorothy and Toto." Wiser said and he began walking away. "No, wait. We need to get to Emerald City, and we can't seem to find the yellow brick..." I began to say, before Wiser interrupted.

"House? Wall? Fireplace?" Wiser asked. "Road." Dorothy and I said. "Oh, of course. Why would you be looking for a yellow brick wall? That's silly at the very least." Wiser said before he faced us. "There's the high road, and then there's the low road. I know every square acre of Oz. But why would you want me to come with you? I'm a miserable traveling companion. I talk incessantly." Wiser said.

"Yes, I..." Dorothy began. "But I..." I said. "I require frequent rest stops at which, I should just warn you, I will also talk incessantly. It's a terrible habit, I know." Wiser said. "Hmm." Dorothy and I said as we wait. "But habits are hard to break." Wiser said. "Right." I said. "If we could break them, they wouldn't be habits." Wiser said.

"That's okay. I was hoping maybe you could fly us there." Dorothy said. "In what?" Wiser asked and we chuckled softly. "Oh. Oh, you mean me? Well, I suppose I could do that. Only, I can't fly." Wiser said and I frowned. Toto shook his head confused. "I mean, I could, in the past, but..." Wiser said and I interrupted softly.

"Oh, there's no need to be embarrassed. Maybe you could just point the way." I said softly. "Ah, actually, it's in this direction. I know a shortcut through Candy County. But I must warn you, if we're to travel through Candy County, there's one rule." Wiser said as he walked ahead of us. We walked behind him. "What is that?" Dorothy asked.

"You must obey the signs. Which will be difficult, since I'm quite hungry!" Wiser said before he lifted a branch and we saw signs. Dorothy gasped happily, but I read the signs...something felt off about it. The signs all read about eating the candy. We looked away from the signs and saw that it was all candy.

"Whoa." I said softly, and Toto began panting happily, so hungry. "You did say, 'Obey the signs,' right?" Dorothy asked. "Right." Wiser said before he read the signs and gasped. "They must have changed the rules. Follow me!" Wiser said.
