Lunch time comes around, and the kids all head to the cafeteria.

Dean glances over at Elisabeth, smirking a little.

"You want to eat lunch with my cousins and I?" he asks.

She blushes. "Oh...if you're okay with it."

"I wouldn't ask if I wasn't. Come on."

She follows him to a table, where Asher, Dakota, and Copeland are already sitting with three other kids. Dean straightens up subconsciously, trying to look mature.

"Hey guys!" Dean calls. They look up, and he gestures to his friend. "This is Elisabeth."

She smiles shyly and waves. Copeland gives her a tight smile, looking to the nervous boy beside her. Tiki looks at his hands instantly. Asher and Dakota smile at Elisabeth.

"Looks like you guys made friends too. Want to introduce them?" Dean asks, settling down next to Copeland.

Elisabeth seats herself down next to Dean, feeling a little bit more relaxed.

Copeland blows a stray piece of hair out of her hazel eyes. "I'm Copeland. This is Tiki."

Tiki smiles lightly, looking at his plate of fries.

"Lukas! Cool to meet you, dude," Asher's friend says, pulling off his headphones.

"Asher." Asher smiles pleasantly.

Dakota looks to the girl beside her, who nods a little.

"This is Kelly. She's kind of shy," Dakota says. "And I'm Dakota."

"Hi..." Kelly nearly whispers.

"Hey." Elisabeth and Dean wave.

Dean looks around, noticing the absence of one of his cousins.

"Where's Mitch?" he asks.

"Dudes! Hey!"

"Speak of the devil," Copeland mumbles.

Mitch appears with Nixie, grinning widely.

"School is so cool! We haven't learned a thing all day!" he exclaims.

"That's gonna change," Dakota mentions, chewing on a french fry.

Mitch's face falls. "Aw, are you serious?"

"Sorry, bro. Fact of life," Lukas says.

Nixie shrugs, looking to her friend. "So these are your cousins?"

"Yup!" He smiles proudly. "That's Dean, Copeland, Asher, Dakota, and everyone else is a complete stranger!"

Dakota takes the liberty of introducing everyone else. Copeland cross her arms over her chest, scrutinizing her curly-haired cousin's choice of friend.

"Cool! I'm gonna go get a slice of pizza," Nixie says once the introductions are over. "You wanna come with?"

Mitch grins. "Totally!"

They race off, and everyone else looks to each other with amused smirks. Copeland makes a mental note that Mitch found the perfect person for him.

"So...he found a friend, and she's a girl," Dean says.

"Two impossible coincidences that just became possible." Asher laughs.

They eat and talk, and Lukas gets Kelly to join in once they start talking about his inventions. Mitch and Nixie return with pizza, hopping into the conversation easily. Each and every person laughs and feels completely at ease.

Lunch ends much too quickly, and the large group stands up and breaks away, heading off to their next class.
