Today was the day both me and Sarah would catch the dark crow as i was currently in position remembering what me and Sarah talked about

"Alright, here's the plan,we tell the villagers that the dark crow is gone and everything can go back to normal, meanwhile as everyone celebrates we use that as a way to divert the attention from us so we can prepare for his impending attack, I'll have some runes prepared for that but I doubt it'll stop him forever

Then you come in,you have more range with your portals so you'll be fighting him in the air while I'll provide support

Wait that reminds me,you said your specialty is to make portals right?"

"Yes"

"Then how can you shoot out beams?"

"I think it just happened once,I was testing how many portals I could open at once,after getting a bit impatient I just stacked two portals together and a large beam of energy came out of it,that was how I learned to shoot them"

"I see,do you think your portals have any other tricks in them?"

"I don't really know,maybe?"

"We'll worry about that detail later on"she continued as I nodded before asking her

"Do you really think I'll be able to do it?I mean failed pretty badly last time"

"You weren't ready,that was the first time you entered a fight so you obviously wouldn't know,but now that we're the ones creating the trap, he'll be the one at a disadvantage"she said reassuring the boy as he nodded smiling

I quickly shook myself out of this flashback

Sarah had just informed the villagers of the black crow's defeat, she said she had ways to have people believe her,

Everyone was celebrating as I was standing on the highest point of the village which was a large tree

I couldn't mess up now

I looked at my hand and saw it shaking in anticipation for the incoming fight

'is this what entering a fight felt like?your blood pumping,your heart feeling like it's going to explode' he said as suddenly a shadow loomed over the village

'he's here!!'i thought to myself as I prepared my portals as I made my way over to him as fast as I could however something seemed off

He wasn't doing anything,just going around in circles

When I got close enough to him he flew away to a nearby cliff

Seeing that I decided to follow him there

Landing there he had already sat down with his weapon on the ground

I didn't say anything

"Drop the act,you already know who I am right?"

"Yes

Mr.Howard"

I heard a light chuckle from under the mask as he removed his mask

"Why are you doing this? terrifying people all across villages and stealing valuables from them"

I felt a thousand more questions about to escape my mouth,ever since I realized the truth

"Say boy,how old are you?"he asked

"Fifteen"

"A youngling then,let me guess,you have just set off in an adventure Haven't you?"

How could he tell?

"Yes"

"Heh,I could tell by how you asked your questions yesterday,so full of wonder, passion and thirst for knowledge of the wide world,you remind me of when I was but a young boy as well,I remember I never stopped traveling once going wherever the wind took me,you saw the fruits of my travels,fighting mighty beasts and discovering new lands and secrets

But then I met my wife and I realized I would have to settle down, but even then the call of adventure never left my ears,the thrill of battles never left my muscles in every waking moment"

It was all making sense,he didn't want to be held down and settle down

"So you took on the mantle of the dark crow and began to terrorize villages and towns everywhere you went".

"Fighting the protectors of the lands who would stop an evil villain that would threaten their homes"

"But no one could stop you could they..."

"Yes,however I now realize I was acting selfishly, ignoring my wife who had been with me"

He then stood up and threw away his mask

He kicked away his mount staff out the cliffand picked up his spear before jumping with it

"MR Howard!!!"

By the time I arrived at the edge he reemerged riding his mount,spear in hand

"Drachen,young boy,can you give me a worthy battle to end this adventure of mine?will you be my final fight as I am your first?"

Hearing this, having his full attention on me,it felt like I was a small lizard with a hawk staring down on me

'i can't fail at time like this,I need to do this not only to not fail Sarah but also to stop him'

I took a stance with one hand on the ground

"Bring it on!"I challenged him

"Blacker than the night
Louder than storms
The gods have forsaken you
FOR I

THE DARK CROW AM HERE!!"he shouted as his mount

I immediately rushed towards him as I had a plan in mind

I jumped as he blew wind in my direction sending me flying the other way to my advantage as I created a portal to where I was headed and one behind him as I headbutted him in the back as he swung his giant spear at me but I immediately dashed out of the way

'who knows what would have happened if I didn't dodge this'i thought as i created another portal to go through and avoid the dark crow's dash towards me

'i have to stay away from his blade, dashing probably won't do any good with his range'i thought to myself as I then created a portal far away

Then I suddenly remembered in the midst of the adrenaline that I needed to get him to the village so Sarah could help

And so I started to make portals towards it as the villagers noticed that and began to panick once again as the dark crow then brought out his arm which confused me as suddenly it started shooting out tiny eggs like they were bullets

I immediately dashed out of the way as I thought I dodged them but I was then struck in the back by several sharp objects which sent me flying into the roof of a house

"Ouch that hurts!"I groaned as I slowly got back up

"Impressive!most people would have died from this weapon but you not only survived but I barely see any wounds!"he shouted

"What the hell was that?"I asked

"Care to find out?"he asked as he then shot another burst to which I dodged again by rolling to the side while immediately going back to look at the projectiles as I noticed they broke in half and something emerged from them which deviated their trajectory

They were actually tiny crows,and the bullets were actually tiny eggs

The crows then headed straight to where i was standing as I had the reflex to jump out the way

However it was a mistake as he then hit me off the house with his spear which created an explosion and through the walls

'not again!'

I immediately got back up as I was wounded in my arms from the attack that I blocked

"Now what?"he asked floating above me as I started looking around and I saw.....

I began to run to the other side as fast as I could

'i pray that this works!'i thought to myself as he began following me

"Don't let me down arms!"I said as I began creating chains of portals to dash away really high

He then decided to fire his projectiles again with the birds speeding towards me

I created a portal which sucked them in and another one right in front of his chest which caused them to collide with him and him falling off his mount as I began to dive right towards him

It was now or never

"TAKE THIS!!"I shouted as I then fired a beam of energy at him which he blocked with his spear pushing him further in

"NOW SARAH!!!"I shouted as suddenly three spots in the village began to glow and they all created chains of pure light that wrapped themselves around the dark crow before pinning him down on the ground

I created the portal under me and right over the ground as I landed on the ground

"Drachen are you okay?!"shouted Sarah as I smiled towards her with a thumbs up as she then knelt besides me

"Hehehehe.....HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"laughed the dark crow

"What's so funny?"asked Sarah

"magnificent, absolutely magnificent,what a way to end my fighting days,it felt like I was fighting a small dragon"he said

Sarah looked back at me

"We should probably take him to the store and away from the village no?"I asked her

"Yeah..."

And so we quickly picked him up while he was still chained by his constraints with him remaining silent the entire way

We were now in front of the front door as I kicked the door several times like the first time and shouted

"HEY WE HAVE THE DARK CR-!!"I shouted not finishing Mr charles Howard to open the door

I imagined her to be surprised or heartbroken over the reveal of her husband being the dark crow

But instead she didn't look surprised at all

She tossed something to Sarah who caught it with her hands

"Is it really okay to have this?"she asked her

"It's fine,no one can afford it anyways,besides I feel like you might get the villagers after you for lying to them"

"Oh crap she's right!"said Sarah unveiling what was in her hand

It was a small capsule as she pressed a button and threw it far away as it created a cloud of smoke as out of it came a fancy  but also bulky car

"Let's go drachen"she said as she began to run towards the vehicle and I followed her as we began to hear the loud outcries of the villagers as we got inside and she immediately started the engine and drove us away from there

"next stop!

THE CAPITAL!!

Meanwhile

Howard was looking at his wife with a sad expression

"I'm sorry for the trouble I caused honey..."he said

"I thought you had given up that life,that you would focus on me and our life together?"

"Well you see...I sort of was,I did get a lot of goods from that"he said which caused her expression to change abruptly

"Really?"

"Y-yes!"

She then immediately released him

"You should have said so from the beginning!"she told him

"Sorry about that"

"However it's been decided,you lost so keep your end of the deal"

"I will honey....I will"he said as he gave her a soft smile which she reciprocated

"good now let's get out of here because the villagers don't look too Happy"she said as the couple went their own separate way together
