Left Early.

BTS had just recently debuted. After two years of training together, the members were pretty accustomed to their life of living together and taking care of eachother. They'd bonded rather quickly.

One of the strongest bonds between them had to be between the oldest and the youngest. Jin and Jungkook were practically inseparable. Jin loved all of his dongsaengs like they were his own, but he was a little different with Jungkook. He spoiled him a little more, hung out with him a little more, was a bit more overprotective of him, usually spent a bit more money on him. Jungkook was a small 15 year old boy and Jin just couldn't help but give the kid the entire world.

One of their favorite things was the quality time the two spent talking when Jin would drive Jungkook to and from school. The other members who could drive offered to do it so Jin didn't always have to be the one to wake up early, but Jin insisted that he loved it.

Today, Jungkook woke up late and didn't have time to eat breakfast before they left.

"Just get in the car, I'll stop somewhere for you to grab something on the way," Jin said as he helped rush Jungkook to get his coat and backpack on. "Let's go let's go let's go, we're late!"

"Sorry, sorry!" Jungkook chuckled. In the car Jin asked where they should go, Jungkook mentioned his favorite corner store because they had his favorite drinks and breakfast sandwiches.

Jin stopped there and they quickly bought some breakfast. Jin rushed Jungkook back to the car and told him to eat it on the way. Jin noticed his maknae being a bit more quiet than he usually was on the way to school and he got a bit worried.

"What's wrong? Is something up?" Jin asked.

Jungkook shrugged, "I just...we have to work with Nu-Hyung today." Jungkook looked at Jin with worried eyes. Jin's heart hurt. Nu-Hyung was one of their choreographers, and he was very, very mean. The members hated working with him. All the man did was scream at everyone, degrading and belittling them all and telling them all how much they sucked. According to Nu-Hyung the band should have never even debuted because he said their dancing was terrible. He especially hated Hobi because Hobi was appointed as the groups dance leader, and he thought Hobi sucked too. The last time they worked with Nu-Hyung the man had made both Taehyung and Hobi cry because he screamed at them so much. Jungkook ended up crying that day too because he was scared and upset seeing his hyungs cry.

"Aish...Kookie..please just don't worry about that right now, yeah? Just have a good day at school for hyung." Jin ran his hand gently down the back of Jungkook's head. He hated seeing Jungkook scared or nervous. The youngest was really shy and got nervous a lot, especially around intimidating adults. Jin always felt his over-protectiveness kick in when it came to any of his younger brothers being scared.

Jungkook sighed, "I can try."

They pulled up to the school and Jin said again for Jungkook to have a good day and that he'd be there to pick him up like always. Jungkook got out of the car, "Bye hyung!"

"Bye Kook-ah! Love you!" Jin yelled.

"Love you too hyung!" Jungkook yelled back as he ran inside.

Jungkook did his best to ignore the anxiety of dance practice later. The time would come, but he'd be with his hyungs. And he had Jin. So that eased his mind. He was having a fun day at school, until about an hour before the end of the day he was called to the office to be dismissed.

Jungkook felt panic shooting through his chest as he walked to the office. He didn't know why he was being dismissed early. He was scared that something bad might have happened to one of his hyungs and they were hurt and it was an emergency. He played a million scenarios in his head.

When he got to the office, he saw the one person he didn't want to. Nu-Hyung. A deeper panic and anxiety shot through him.

"Why...why are you here?" Jungkook asked nervously.

"Gotta pick you up early."

"Wh...why?"

"Need you at work."

Jungkook was confused. It was school hours, and his hyungs already made it clear to the company that school was just as important as the band and that Jungkook needed to be in attendance. Not only that, but Jin told him he'd be picking him up. So what the hell?

"But hyung is.." Jungkook started.

"Don't back talk me. I need you at work."

Jungkook was frustrated. How was this back talk? He didn't know. He also sure as hell didn't want to go anywhere with Nu-Hyung.

"I have class.." Jungkook pouted. He was trying to find every reason to not have to leave with this man.

"Let's go," Nu-Hyung said. He grabbed Jungkook's wrist and started dragging him out the door as the man said by to the secretary. The maknae noticed it was some new lady. Jungkook fought back his anxiety until they were just outside Nu-Hyungs car. He tried pulling out of the mans grip, it was too tight and it was hurting him. Although Nu-Hyung was generally a mean asshole, it was always verbally. He never physically hurt them, so Jungkook was a bit surprised by the aggression.

"I...I don't want to go with you. Jin hyung is picking me up and practice isn't until later."

Nu-Hyung smacked Jungkook hard across the face. The maknae was surprised by that too. He felt tears form in his eyes because now he was very scared.

"Did I not just say don't back talk me, you little good for nothing piece of garbage? I went through some of the dance videos and I can't believe how absolutely terrible you were! So I need you early, because you have a lot of damn practicing to do before the others show up for practice! Now get in the damn car before I make you!"

Jungkook immediately listened before he got smacked again. He slowly slithered his way into the back seat as he frantically wiped the tears of terror streaming down his face. He wanted to go home. He wanted his Jin hyung.

When they got to the company, Nu-Hyung grabbed Jungkook out of the car and dragged him all the way to the practice room. He pulled up the dance videos he was watching and showed Jungkook all his mistakes.

"See here? This is wrong. Your steps are wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong! Everything you do is wrong! I still don't know how you, or really any of you, made it into this damn band. This puts me in a shitty position because I expected to train great dancers, not a bunch of stupid little boys!"

Jungkook was trembling with fear. It always scared the hell out of him when Nu-Hyung was angry and saying hurtful things. He was also angry hearing the way the man talked about his hyungs. He loved all of them and thought they were all excellent at the job.

"Go get in position. You're practicing this until your feet fall off if you have to," Nu-Hyung demanded. Jungkook was in no way going to argue with this man. He was defenseless. He immediately listened and began to practice.

--

Jin pulled up to the school at the end of the day. He had stopped and picked up a small blue slushie for his maknae, the boys favorite, because he felt bad that Jungkook went to school with anxiety that morning. He could only hope his bunny had a good day. He got confused when it seemed like all the kids were out and had been picked up, but the kid he was there to get was nowhere in sight. Where is mine? He got out of the car and walked up to one of the security guards standing outside.

"Um, excuse me sir? I'm here to pick up my little brother but he's ...not here. He's always here on time but I don't see him."

The officer had Jin go to the office so they could try to locate him.

"What's his name?" the secretary asked.

"Jeon Jungkook," Jin said impatiently. He was getting nervous. He didn't understand why Jungkook was missing. He was never missing. He always came out running towards Jin yelling about his great day school.

"He was already dismissed. He left early," the secretary said.

Panic shot through the oldest. None of the members had gone and picked him up, Jin knew that.

"What do you mean he was dismissed early?! To who?! Who picked him up?!" Jin asked angrily.

"Nu-Hyung," the woman replied.

Jin's heart dropped to the depths of hell.

"Nu-Hyung?! Why the hell was he picking him up!? He's not even on the pick up list! There are only three names on the pick up list for him! Kim Seokjin, Min Yoongi, and Jung Hoseok! Why would you give him to Nu-Hyung?!"

The secretary went red in the face. She was new and wasn't aware of all the procedures. "I'm sorry, I didn't know there was a pick up list." She would be scolded by administration for that later.

"Are you serious?! What do you guys do here, just give kids off to strangers half the time?!" Jin screamed. He was red in the face with anger. Jin didn't want Jungkook anywhere near that asshole of a man. If it were up to him he wouldn't have any of his members anywhere near that asshole of a man, and especially not alone. And especially not the youngest, smallest, most scared one out of all of them.

"Do you want me to call the police?" the woman asked.

"No, I know where they are," Jin sighed in frustration. He ran back out to the car and immediately sped to the studio. He knew if they were going to be anywhere it was going to be the studio.

Oh Jungkook-ah, it's okay. You'll be okay. Hyung is coming. I'm coming. I'll be right there. Please don't be too scared I promise hyungie is coming to save you!

---

"That still isn't right!" Nu-Hyung screamed at Jungkook after another mis-step. The maknae usually wasn't this bad with the choreography, but the anxiety and panic shooting through him because of the choreographer was making him continuously mess up. Nu-Hyung would smack Jungkook every single time.

"I'm sorry," Jungkook cried through tears as he trembled after probably the fifth smack across the face. He could see in the dance mirror that his cheeks were red and already becoming stained with bruises.

"Don't be sorry and be fuckin better!" Nu-Hyung screamed into the youngests face. Jungkook couldn't make eye contact and looked away. He was way too scared. His heart was ready to explode in his chest and he could feel how badly he was trembling with fear.

When the music restarted the maknae tried his best but nothing was good enough. Nu-Hyung wouldn't stop screaming and the youngest couldn't take it anymore. He gave up as he buried his face into his hands and sobbed. He just wanted to go home.

The music stopped and Nu-Hyung ran at him and pushed him down, slamming him into the floor. The singer let out a whimper of pain as he got the wind knocked out of him.

"Absolutely pathetic! Pathetic!" Nu-Hyung screamed as he hovered threateningly over Jungkook. The man started going on and on about how pathetic he was and Jungkook was caught off guard when he felt a shoe collide with his rib cage, knocking the wind out of him a second time. "Please, stop," he begged as he sobbed. I need my hyungs.

"Oh, the poor little baby wants me to stop!? What, the boy can't handle a little criticism?" Nu-Hyung kicked Jungkook again, making him whimper. He tried to get up on his hands and knees so he could crawl away but Nu-Hyung just kicked him hard in the chest and he fell back to the floor.

"Please.." Jungkook choked out as he tried to get oxygen back into his lungs.

"What're you gonna do about it? Your stupid members aren't here to defend you, so you might as well suck it up and get back to work!"

Jungkook knew he couldn't dance anymore. His chest and ribs were exploding with pain from all the kicks he kept getting. He was out of breath and his bones were on fire. If anything, he'd rather have just passed out instead of deal with this right now. He was so incredibly terrified about everything that was happening. Nu-Hyung being physically abusive was new, and it scared the hell out of him knowing that this might be how their future would play out. Not only being screamed at, but being kicked and hurt too? He couldn't help but also worry for his hyungs. As much as it hurt getting beaten up, he would never be able to bare the pain of seeing one of his big brothers get smacked around.

He felt another kick to his back. "I said get back to work!" Nu-Hyung grabbed him and lifted him to his feet, but he fell right back down. He was too weak now. He had nothing left in him to give.

Nu-Hyung started smacking him repeatedly in the face as he tried to block it. His tears were forming puddles on the wooden dance floor.

"P-please...s-stop.." Jungkook pleaded over and over. Nu-Hyung didn't listen. He started screaming at Jungkook more and more as he continued to smack, punch, and kick the boy who was curled up in a ball on the floor. Jungkook's sobs had gotten very loud as he screamed in pain with every blow. At one point he was sure he was actually going to pass out, or even die, and right now he didn't care which one.

He started to get dizzy and see spots because he kept having the oxygen knocked out of him everytime he got another kick to the ribs. He could have sworn he heard the voice of an angel speak, until he realized it was Jin.

"What the hell are you doing?! What the hell?! Get away from him!" Jin screamed at Nu-Hyung. When Jin had ran in the first thing he witnessed was Nu-Hyung beating the hell out of his maknae. He ran at Nu-Hyung and tackled him straight to the floor.

"Hurting him?! You're hurting him!? What the hell is wrong with you!? Who the hell do you think you are putting your disgusting filthy hands on my baby brother?!" Jin screamed as he pinned Nu-Hyung to the floor. Jin was seeing red and block spots of fury across his vision. Jungkook had managed the strength to crawl further away until he collapsed on the floor again. He was overcome with relief. He realized no matter what, he could always count on his hyungs to come to his rescue.

Jin and Nu-Hyung started fighting, and Jin even punched Nu-Hyung square in face. Jin ran to Jungkook and pulled him into a hug. The hyung was a crying mess, full of worry. His baby was all bruised up and his heart shattered as the pieces spread across the depths of the earth.

Jungkook kept repeating that he was really scared and wanted to go home. Jin kissed his forehead, "We will. We will. Hyung will bring you home."

Jin got up, standing protectively in front of his maknae who was still curled up on the floor. He turned back to Nu-Hyung. "You're done! You hear me?! Never again! We are never working with you ever again! I've had to watch you hurt my dongsaengs for too long! Verbally was one thing, but no way in hell will I allow you to hurt them like this! I refuse! Assaulting them like this?! No! No way! He's fuckin 15, you asshole! 15!!" Jin's anger was completely out of control and it took every fiber in his soul to hold him back from absolutely destroying this man. If Jungkook wasn't there to witness such a horror, Jin just may have done it.

"Oh fuck you, Jin, you think I ever wanted to work with you to begin with?!" Nu-Hyung screamed.

Jin screamed at him to get the hell out of the room, to get the hell away from Jungkook, and to get the hell out of their lives. Nu-Hyung angrily shoved past Jin as he left and the two spit more profanities at eachother. Jungkook was extremely surprised with Jin. He knew Jin was protective, but damn, this was something new.

Jin turned to Jungkook and he could see the terror in the boys giant bambi eyes.

"Oh, my maknae," Jin cooed as he got down and pulled him into a tight hug. Jungkook groaned when the pain shot through his ribs again.

"Let hyung see." Jin lifted Jungkook's shirt and saw the bruising all over his maknae's chest and stomach. He tried not to get sick.

"Let's get you home," Jin pouted as he lifted Jungkook up and cradled him in his arms. Jungkook wrapped his arms around Jin's neck as he was being carried and sobbed into his hyungs chest. He thanked Jin over and over for coming to save him.

"I never want to see him again," Jungkook said as his tears drenched Jin's shirt, "Hyungie please. Please don't make any of us ever see him again."

"We won't," Jin said authoritatively. He placed Jungkook in the back seat and texted the members that dance practice that day was cancelled. He ignored all the texts asking why as he drove his maknae home.

He helped Jungkook walk into the house and the members instantly knew something was wrong when they saw Jungkook covered in bruises and wincing in pain.

"Oh my god what happened?!?" Jimin screamed as he ran to Jungkook's side.

"Nu-Hyung is what happened!" Jin screamed angrily. "The bastard stole him from school just to drag him to the practice room and beat the hell out of him!"

The members were overcome with fury. They all instantly ran for anything Jungkook might need. Ice, cream, water, anything. Jungkook lightly cried on the couch as Hobi, Taehyung, and Jimin held him close and checked out his bruises.

"Oh our poor maknae," Hobi frowned through teary eyes. "I can't imagine how scary that was." All Jungkook did in response was clutch his hyungs even tighter.

"That man is done! None of us are going back to that practice room until that man is gone for good! I don't care what anyone says, I will not tolerate him any more! I've had enough of him hurting us and this is the last straw! The second anyone puts their hands on any of you, that's the end of it for them! I will not allow us to deal with abuse like this. Look at him! Look at our baby! Look at his bruises! I won't have it!" Jin screamed louder than ever before, "I WON'T HAVE IT!"

Jin dove down and pulled Jungkook into his arms, "Nobody will ever hurt you, or any of us, again. Please don't be scared. We'll protect you. I'll protect all of you. Please trust that your Jin hyung will take care of this."

The members were speechless. Even Namjoon, the leader of the group, had no words. They all completely agreed with the oldest. They could never let something like that happen to Jungkook ever again. They could never let it happen to any of them.

Jin told everyone to continue tending to Jungkook as he called the company and screamed at some managers about what happened and how they planned to all quit if Nu-Hyung wasn't fired. He hung the phone up and ran back to his youngest.

The members were heartbroken seeing Jungkook all beat up and spoiled him like it was the last thing they'd ever do. He told them how much he loved and appreciated having such protective and loving hyungs. He felt like he could never pay Jin back for running in and saving him.

"You don't have to pay me back, bunny. It's what a big brother is for," Jin had told him.

Jungkook slept a lot the next few days as his body had to recover from the bruising. Thankfully it didn't seem like anything was broken, and his skin was clearing up. Yoongi made sure the boy drank a ton of water to help his body heal up quickly. Taehyung and Jimin cuddled him a lot, saying that they'd share their own strength with him so he'd also heal more quickly.

When the news came that Nu-Hyung had been fired, the members were ecstatic. Not only was he fired, but the company offered to have a restraining order put on Nu-Hyung because the extreme child abuse he'd committed against Jungkook qualified him for it. Yoongi immediately said yes. Nu-Hyung was restricted from the entire band, forever. A huge victory for the group.

Once Jungkook was feeling well enough, he decided he was ready to head back to school. They found out that the secretary had been fired for not following protocol when it came to dismissing students. Jin was relieved at that. And what Jungkook didn't know was that his first day back, Jin was too anxious and paranoid to leave. He had PTSD about Jungkook being released to someone he wasn't supposed to be released to, so he ended up sitting in the parking lot all day, keeping an eye on who came and went. He got back out of his car when he saw the kids start pouring out of the school at the end of the day.

His heart thudded hard as he anxiously awaited the appearance of his maknae.

And then there he was, his youngest brother, running towards him and smiling, yelling about how he had a great day at school.

[The End]
