“Alisha Edwards! Come to my office. Right now.”

As she neared the door which said ‘Headmistress’ she felt her stomach doing a somersault.

“Why does she want to see me now?”

thought Alisha to herself. She quietly opened the door and caught Mrs.Rinkle's eye which said that she was in for danger.

“Sit down, Alisha. Make yourself comfortable...Cuz' we have a lot to talk about.”

Her tone somehow made Alisha more uncomfortable than ever before and her dislike towards Mrs.Rinkle increased rapidly from a scale of 1 to 10.

“Ok Alisha, past is past why dont you try to think about your present?”

“Umm...I am sorry what?”

“Oh yes...you dont know about it...or...are you acting like it?”

Asked Mrs.Rinkle with a disapproving frown.

“Why do you want to try and spoil this school's name? I dont know... I really dont”

Alisha looked even more confused than before.

“You still dont understand?” “Umm...No.”

Suddenly Mrs.Rinkle put her hand into the drawer of her favourite cupboard and took out something that looked like an envelope. She handed over the parcel to Alisha and said

“Open it.”

Alisha, with mixed emotions slowly tore the envelope open. She found a letter inside which she opened. In thick bold letters were written:

Alisha Edwards student of Rochester School, first year is SUSPENDED FROM THE SCHOOL FOR 2 MONTHS for not attending class since two weeks. As it seems that she does not like to attend class, she is given 2 months suspension as discussed with the school authorities.

Alisha's eyes filled with tears. She had not left any class unattended. Yet,this letter. Tear-faced she looked up at Mrs.Rinkle's grinning face.

“You might be thinking about why the suspension...well there is a reason for it...a good reason.”

“But cant you tell me why I got this suspension? This is not fair. I have not left any class unattended...and now...”

“Ah...yes...yes my dear. You attended all the classes but this is not for your mistakes...it is for Kelly's. She had not attended classes for long”

Alisha felt relieved.“ Then why is my name on it?”

“Because you are the one who is going to suffer for it.”
