The next morning-
Jessica and Danny hadn't slept at all that night. They spent the whole night discussing everything. They poured their hearts out to each other and didn't leave one and another's side. They forgave each other how things were left. Danny wasn't taking the loss of his father well at the time. Jessica didn't expect him to. She understood completely. The past didn't matter anymore to them. Jessica and Danny were starting fresh. The past was behind them. They had each other. All that mattered was their love. It was precious to them. This is what Jessica prayed would happen. All she wanted was Danny. Living without him wasn't an option.
The next morning Jessica woke up in Danny's arm. Her skin touched his. White sheets covered their bodies. Her head was on his chest. Hearing his heartbeat put everything at ease. She felt more relaxed. This was the first time in a very long time that she finally felt secure, truly happy, and in love.
Danny slowly started to wake up. When he did he moved his hand up and down Jessica's back, slowly. Jessica smiled then turned her head to his.
He moved his head down and kissed her forehead. "I want to wake up like this every morning. Next to you, in bed, together." He says softly
"Me too." She nods. She places her hand on his chest.
"I love you." Danny mutters
"I love you too."
"What's next?" He says sitting up.
"We lay in bed all day and sleep in each other's arms." She giggles wrapping a blanket around her body.
"But after we do that."
Jessica knew that Danny was talking about how they'd make this relationship work. This was the scary part. One of them had to make a big sacrifice. One of them had to leave their home to be with the other. They didn't want a long distance relationship. Nothing could come between them.
"I don't know... What do we do?" Jessica turns to Danny. She was concerned. It showed through her facial expression.
Danny tilted his head then caressed Jessica's cheek.
"We will figure this out. No matter what I won't let you go. Not now, not ever."

The next day-
Danny had to go into the office for the day. He needed to see patients before the holidays came. Jessica decided to stop over Ann's to get her stuff. Danny wanted Jessica to stay with him while she stayed in Minnesota.
They both avoided the subject of what would have to happen when Jessica had to go back home. They needed time to figure everything out. It all happened so fast. They just wanted to spend the time they had with each other and not have worries.
Jessica wanted to surprise Danny with dinner when he got home. She headed to the grocery store to pick out some things to make then went back to his house.
Jessica turned on his Bluetooth speaker and played soft music. It played throughout the house as she cooked. She wanted to make a pasta dinner. It wad easy and romantic which is what she wanted.
Danny got home a bit earlier then expected. Dinner still wasn't finished. Jessica had her body facing the stove. Danny stood a few feet behind her watching Jessica stir the pot. She swayed her hips back and forth to the music. Danny couldn't help but stare. The sight of Jessica infront if his eyes was something he wouldn't trade for the world. Just knowing that they were together gave him this feeling of happiness throughout his body.
Danny slowly walked up to Jessica and put his hands on his hips. Jessica jumped from being startled. She turned to Danny with fright in her eyes.
"Hey, it's just me." He chuckles giving her a kiss.
"You scared me... I didn't know you'd be home so early." She says turning down the stove.
"I thought I'd leave a bit early to see you. What are you doing here?" Danny moves beside Jessica and dips his finger into the marinara sauce.
"Well, I'm trying to make a romantic dinner." Jessica says sternly moving his hand away from the pot.
Danny digs his face into Jessica's neck and kisses her uncontrollably causing her to giggle.
"We have to have dinner first." She smiles turning away from him.
"When I first got home and saw you in the kitchen something in my mind told me that this is all right. Coming home to you everyday is all I want."
Jessica didn't say anything. She hid her face from Danny. She blushed and had a smile on her face.

"This is really good. I like it, a lot!" He says
"I'm glad you like it. I'm not quite the cook. I'm usually used to take-out." Jessica takes a sip of water then stares at Danny.
"Being with you has made me the happiest that I could ever be. These last two months have been rough."
Jessica reaches for Danny's hand and holds onto it from across the table.
"I don't plan on leaving you." She smiles
"I hate that everyone has to leave. The best people are taken so soon." Danny's facial expression changes quickly. The mood changes as well.
Jessica's heart only hurt for him. It was all so unfair. He was still hurting from the loss of his dad.
"He isn't hurting, Danny. It took me a long time to realize that my dad was in a better place. I spent months contemplating whether or not my dad was in a good place. I was angry with god for so long for taking him. Then I finally realized that my dad wasn't hurting from the cancer anymore. He was free. And your dad, he's free as well."
"I never knew how much you were hurting until now. I don't know how you did it, so young... That's why I love most about you Jessica.... you're so strong."
"I want this to work. I really do." She says anxiously
"Me too. You and I have been holding back on talking about how this will work. We live in two separate states. The hardest part is that long distance isn't an option."
"I know... I just want to figure something out that makes us both happy."
"I don't want you to move away from New York."
"I don't want you to move away from this home you built."
Danny sighs then runs his fingers through his hair.
"But I'm willing to quit." Jessica says
"What? No! Jessica you can't quit your job at NY MAG."
"Danny, I hate it there. Mark is such an ass!"
"What if you can't find a writing job?"
"I think I want to move onto something else."
"What is that?"
"Photography. I want to start a business."
"Really?"
Jessica nods "Is it crazy?"
"Of course not! But are you sure?"
"I'm not for sure, but it's always been a thought. I can use the money from my book to help me start it up. It's a big risk."
"I can't let you make all the sacrifices." Danny says
"I think for right now I should quit my job, find an apartment out here and maybe start up a business. We will see where this all takes us."
Jessica's smile lit up the room. Danny stared at Jessica for a second then stood up from his chair. He walked over besides Jessica and got on one knee.
"Danny, what are you doing?" Jessica chuckles
"Jessica, I've been dreaming about this moment for a long time. I love you. I've never loved anyone so much in my life. Walking in on your cooking today just made me realize how lucky I am to have you. Because when I saw you I got this feeling in my body. That's why I have to ask...
Jessica, will you be my girlfriend."
Jessica stood there in silence for a moment. She started to laugh then brought Danny's body close to hers.
"Of course!" She giggles
"I know it's cheesy, but hey... why not?"
"That's right, why not." She giggles kissing him once again.
