April 11th-

"Before we leave I have to stop at my office. Do you mind coming?" Jessica says

"No problem. Does your boss know you are visiting?"

"Yes. Just for two weeks."

Jessica and Jane go over to Jessica's office building. Jane was in Ahh seeing the headquarters for NYC MAG. She saw models and some small celebrities walk the hall. Everyone would wave and say hello to Jessica.

"Jess this place is huge!"

"Mhm. Isn't something you'd see in Minnesota huh?"

"No way."

Jessica and Jane get to Jessica's floor. Everyone on her level greets her as she walks into her office. Her office was a long office that overlooked the city.

"This place is so chic!"

"Haha, thanks. I did it myself."

"All this camera stuff, it's incredible."

Jane sits down as Jessica gathers some of her things.

*knock*

Jessica looks up and sees Sam standing at the door with a cup of coffee.

"Brought you something." He walks in and sets it on her desk.

Jessica smiled. "Thanks.

Oh Sam! This is my older sister Jane. Jane this is a friend of mine, Sam Shepard."

"Nice to meet you Sam." Jane says with a grin

"Nice to meet you as well. I've herd much about you."

"Haha, really?" Jane looks at Jessica with a smirk and Jessica shakes her head looking away.

"Hey, Mark is out of town but he gave you the okay. Just be back for May. We need you for our photo shoots."

"Okay, I don't know what I would do without you!" Jessica gives him a hug.

"I'm going to miss you and Sarah. Gosh! I'll be all alone."

"I'll be back soon."

"Enjoy your family time. Have a safe flight you two."

"We will."

Sam leaves the room and Jane giggles.

"He's cute!"

"Hah."

"Really, go for it."

"No Jane. He's my coworker."

"Come on, he likes you."

"As a friend. Other then Sarah he was Emmy first friend when I came here. We are too good of friends to date."

"I see. I'll remember that you said that at your wedding day."

"I don't plan on getting married Jane."

"What? Why! You always wanted kids and a husband."

"People Change."

"You don't!"

"Jane, just drop it." Jessica grins collecting the rest of the things she needs.

Jessica and Jane head to Sarah's apartment to pick her up and go to the airport. Jessica's heart raced.

As they waited for the plane Jane got a phone call.

"Hello?" Jane stands up and wobbles away.

"Jessica, what's going on?" Sarah says as Jane walks away.

"I'm just nervous."

"I know, but it's good you will be there for your sister."

"It's my mom."

"Oh. Have you talked to her at all?"

"No, not since Christmas. Sarah you know we don't talk much."

"I know, I'm sorry."

"It's fine don't apologize."

Jane walks back with a sad face and a tear running down her cheek.

"What happened?" Jessica stands up.

"It was mom. Jimmy was put in the hospital last night. It isn't looking good. When we land we are going to have to go straight to the hospital."

"Oh god. Will he be able to go home?"

"I think this is the end..." Jane says

Jessica softly cried and covered her face.

"He's such a good guy. He doesn't deserve to go. He has a wife and three beautiful children." Jessica says

"I know. Let's just hope we get there." Jane says

Sarah gives them a group hug and comforts them...

"If you guys want to go to my hotel I can. I don't want to ruin your family time when we get there."

"No Sarah, Jimmy would probably like to see you. You are like family." Jane says

The plane ride over was miserable. Everyone was on edge and constantly wanted to check for calls, but couldn't.

When they landed they took a taxi over to the hospital.

When they walked up to the floor Jimmy was on they came across George, Janes husband Rick, and Dorthy.

George noticed Jessica first. He stood up and ran over to her.

"Jessie!" He says hugging her tightly.

Jessica's drops her bags and hugs him.

"Georgie. You've gotten so big."

"Sarah, look at you. You have boobs!" George says

"Ahh, George." Sarah playfully hits him and gives him a hug.

"Hey baby." Rick says hugging Jane.

"Hi."

"Hey Jess. You look great. I'm glad you could make it."

"Me too."

After Rick gave Jessica a hug she saw Dorthy standing behind them with her one arm around her body and the other covering her mouth. Her eyes were red and puffy.

Jessica slowly walked towards her and gave her a small smile.

"Hi mom." She says

"Jess, look at you." Dorthy walks closer to her and hugs her.

"I missed you."

Jessica didn't say anything.

When they broke their hug Jessica looked around.

"Are Ann and the kids with Jimmy?"

"The kids are in the cafeteria with Jimmy's mom. Ann is in there right now."

"Sarah, you're gorgeous. Thank you for coming. You always bring smiles." Dorthy walks over to her and cups her cheeks. Jessica turns around and sees Jane with her husband.

"What's New York like?" George says

"Ahh, it's good. Are you ready to graduate?"

"Mhm. I can't wait. I'm getting out of here."

"Really?"

"Yes. Just like you."

"Hmm." Jessica says

"Jessica, would you like to go see Ann? I bet she would love to see you." Jane says

"Yea."

Jessica walks into the room and Jane let's her go in alone. The room was dark. The sound of the machines bounced back and forth from the pale white walls. Ann sat next to Jimmy who was sleeping. Ann slowly sat up. Mascara ran down her face and her eyes were red and puffy.

"Jessica?" Ann says in a muffled tone

"It's me." Jessica says softly.

Ann sat up and quickly ran over to her.

Her body was warm and shaky. Jessica hugged her tight and held her.

"I don't know how this could happen Jess. Thank you for coming."

"It's no problem Ann. I'm here for you no matter what. You're my person."

"And you're mine. This is why I haven't talk to you in so long. I know we usually talk on a weekly basis."

"How is he?"

"Not good. He's just, he's going." Ann softly begins to cry and looks at Jimmy who rested peacefully.

"Ann, I'm so sorry."

"God does things for a reason, right?"

Jessica nodded.

"I just feel so sick and tired. I can't even look at my kids without crying. The kids are stronger then I am. I can't be their support."

"They understand Ann. You're a good mom, you really are."

"How am I going to be able to say goodbye?"

"It will be hard but I will be here the whole way."

"Can you stay with me?"

"Yes." Jessica nods

"Thank you... I love you Jess. I don't know how I could get through this without you."
