12:30am-

The police and ambulance had finally arrived. Jessica went with Danny to the hospital. Her heart raced as they rushed Danny to the hospital. The paramedics cleaned up his face bit. He was still unconscious.

"Will he wake up?" Jessica says holding onto his hand.

"I don't know yet, but he for sure has a broken nose. Ma'am all it could be is a minor blow to the head."

Once they got to the emergency room they took Danny back. Jessica sat in the waiting room all alone. She bounced her feet and twiddled her thumbs. She knew nothing.

Sarah came rushing in a bit later and Jessica held onto her.

"How is he?" She says taking Jessica's hands.

"I don't know yet. They took him back but they haven't said anything. Sarah I feel so guilty."

"Jess, don't feel guilty. I bet he's fine. Maybe it was just a blow to the head. It can't be that extreme."

"I can't believe Sam! What an ass!" Jessica becomes furious clenching her teeth and holding up her fist. Suddenly she burst into tears. She couldn't hold it back anymore. The fright, nervousness, and sadness that filled her body.

Each minute that went by got longer and longer. She knew it couldn't be anything too serious. She kept googling things on her phone which made her even more worried.

"How long as it been? What's going on! I need to know." Jessica says

"It's only been twenty minutes, Jessica. I think maybe you should go home and rest."

"I can't have something happen to him."

"I know... he'll be okay. It can't be that serious."

"Sarah, having him back in my life has been the greatest blessing."

"I didn't know you felt that way towards him."

"I didn't either."

One hour later-

Jessica and Sarah waited in the waiting room. Sarah let Jessica sleep while Sarah stayed up.

"Mrs. Huston?" A doctor calls walking into the waiting room.

Jessica didn't say anything at first because she had never been called 'Mrs.Huston'. Sarah tapped Jessica's shoulder.

"What?" Jessica whispers

"They are looking for a Mrs. Huston, maybe it's for Danny."

Jessica's eyes widen. She quickly stands up.

"I'm his girlfriend." Jessica says quickly

She didn't realize what she had said until she said it. She referred to herself as Danny's girlfriend?

"Danny is doing just fine. He had a minor concussion from hitting his head when he fell. Unfortunately he also has a broken nose."

"He'll be okay, right?"

"Yes... he can go home in the morning. You can see him now if you'd like. He's probably going to sleep the rest of the night, but he'll be up in the morning."

"Thank you." Jessica smiles

She turns back to Sarah.

"He's going to be okay." Jessica breaths heavily.

"That's great."

"Sarah, thanks for being here. I'm sorry about all this, but go home get rest."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm positive."

Jessica walked into the hospital room. Danny laid in bed. His face was swollen from his broken nose. Jessica could barley recognize his face.

She kneeled down to his bedside and held onto his hands.

"Danny, I'm so sorry." She mutters resting her head on the side of the bed.

The next day-

Jessica slept next to Danny the whole night.

Jessica was woken up by small movements by Danny. She had her head on Danny's chest.

"Danny?" Jessica says sitting up.

Danny slowly opens his eyes then squints.

"It hurts." He mumbles

"I know, I'm so sorry Danny."

"Don't apologize."

"You didn't have to protect me like that."

"Yes I did."

Jessica let's out a sigh then caresses Danny's cheek.

"I'm so glad that you're okay."

"Thank you for being here." He says softly

"Thank you for being okay."

Danny smiles

"Holy shit does my face hurt." He chuckles

Jessica couldn't help but laugh at the face Danny made. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't laugh."

"No, laugh. I love when you laugh. Seeing you smile makes me smile."

"Danny..." Jessica mumbles, tilting her head.

Later that day Jessica took Danny back to her apartment. He was in a lot of pain and couldn't do much. Jessica took care of him and let him sleep in her room.

She made him soup and hot chocolate . She set it up nicely for Danny.

When she walked into her room there was not one ounce of sunlight in the room. It was all dark. Danny's eyes were too sensitive.

"I made some nice soup and hot chocolate for you!" She sets it down and smiles.

"Thank you... I've been thinking about what all my patients will say when they see there eye doctor like this."

"Danny, you won't be able to go back home for a few more days."

"I know that, but the bruising and swelling will all take a long time to go away."

Jessica sighs and sits next to Danny.

"I wanted to thank you... you protected me and stood up for me. You always have been there for me. I wish this didn't happen and I didn't mean for it to happen. I'm sorry that it did."

"Jess, I'll always protect you. You mean so much to me."

3 days later-

Danny recovered well. Sadly, his visit was coming to an end and he had to get home. The doctors had cleared him to go home. It made Jessica sad that he was leaving. She wasn't ready, she had so much fun with him. Jessica wanted him to stay. She just wanted his company forever.

Jessica helped Danny pack up a lot of his things. It was hard for her. She held back so many tears.

"Are you sure that you're okay to go home?" Jessica says folding up the couch.

"Jess, I have to go home. I wish I didn't, but I do."

Jessica let out a sigh and continued helping him pack.

Before Danny left the walked around the city and had lunch. The closer it got to saying goodbye to Danny, the harder it was for Jessica. Her heart hurt.

**

Towards the end of the day Jessica and Danny took a taxi over to the airport. The driver helped get Danny's things out of the trunk and waited for Jessica so she could say her goodbyes.

"I bet security will keep an extra eye on me with my face looking like this." Danny says trying to cheer Jessica up.

She chuckled then teared up a bit.

"Hey, don't cry." He puts his hands on her shoulders then brings her close to his body.

"I hate goodbyes." She cries

"I do too..." Danny sighs

"But we'll see each other soon." He reassures her

"Thank you for such an amazing week."

"Take care, Jessica. And call me every night."

"I will. And take care of that nose!"

"I will."

The look into each other's eyes and hug. They stay there for a while before Danny checks the time.

"I should probably get going... I can't miss my plane."

Jessica nods her head. "I'll see you soon, Danny. Have a safe flight and rest up."

"Get that book published! And I'm the first to get a copy!" He says walking off

Jessica watches as Danny walks off. She turns to the taxi and heads home.

On the way home she cried uncontrollably. She swiped through her phone and saw multiple pictures of her and Danny from the trip. She just wanted to relive all of it all over again.

Jessica then got a text from Danny.

*We will see each other soon. I'm counting down the days now... November 20th, November 20th. Where are you November 20th?*

*November 20th.... have a safe flight.*

*Damn, I'm going to miss your watery hot chocolate. Can hot chocolate be our thing?*

*Hey! I thought it tasted good! But yes... it should be our thing.*
